I'm vegan, but my friends and family aren't, so I'm always on the lookout for places that serve both. Kitava is it! Came with a friend and loved it; I had the power bowl and it was so delicious. The sauce should be bottled and sold, it was so good. Everything just seemed so fresh, healthy, clean, and the energy was positive. My kid loved the chicken bites too! (Bonus: kids eat free on Tuesday evenings!) Came back a second time already, this time with my husband, who loved the fish and chips. We're looking forward to try brunch next! Other pluses: -Service is friendly and fast. -Street parking was easy. -the cucumber lime water is a lovely treat.

We have been to the Kitava in Oakland many times, this has been some of our favorite Kitava experiences. Very clean, tasty, and beautiful space. No seed oils, gluten, etc. It's not going to be dirty cheap because it's quality which we are okay with. The staff is friendly and gets things done. It's a perfect place to grab some food and hangout. A lot to choose from. The portion looks small-ish in the bowl, but we always feel full. If you love a good salad or bowl this is the place to come. Good for vegans and meat eaters. They have a self order kiosk, a regular staff order station, or you can seat yourself and order straight from the table with a QR code.

Loved this place! Such good vibes and really fresh, healthy food. My friend is vegan and suggested we give it a try, and we both left feeling like we hadn't had food this wholesome in a long time. Everything tasted so fresh--it was the kind of meal that just made you feel good afterward. We even got to meet the owner, who looks like he's been eating healthy his whole life! He told us they carefully source their ingredients, and honestly, you can tell after eating the food. Everything just tastes clean, fresh, and high quality. Another great bonus: on Tuesdays from 4-9 pM, kids can get a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal. Even the chicken nuggets tasted fresh and high quality. Definitely a place we'd come back to!

Honestly not bad. As a gluten free and allergen free type of spot, I know some people will appreciate this place exist. As for the food, it's not bad. The burrito bowl came with this chicken and it seasoned very well. The watermelon side salad was also a nice treat. My gf got the beef plate and that was very filling. Place is clean, and food comes out quick.

Kitava is a great spot for healthy and fresh food. There are plenty of balance salad and protein bowl options, with little soy. I enjoyed the Power Bowl with Plant Protein Patties (black bean based) added. The avocado and cilantro dressing paired perfectly with it and there were generous amounts of sweet potato, salad and avocado. My husband enjoyed the sesame chicken bowl and we were both pleasantly surprised by how filling everything was. We weren't big fans of the sauce that came with the sesame chicken bowl or the vegan brownie, but everything else was enjoyable that we had.

3.75/5 I was super excited for a gluten free restaurant in the area! I've never had Kitava before so wasn't sure what to expect. Ordered at the kiosk which was easy! Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered hibiscus cooler, chicken nuggets, fries, watermelon salad and the carrot ginger soup. Chicken and fries were really good and so crispy! Ketchup was a bit odd tasting. The watermelon salad was great and so refreshing. The hibiscus cooler was very watered down and had no flavor. Looked a bit different than the picture on the kiosk. The carrot ginger soup didn't look like the kiosk photo at all and was a completely different color. It had a lot of texture and was really overpowering. I'd like to come back and try a bowl or salad! There are no servers so I can't make many comments on that, but they got the food out quick. Restaurant was very clean and we sat outside under the umbrellas. Parking was fairly easy- lots of street parking.

So EXCITED to have Kitava in town. It is so conveniently located. Walking distance from the offices, target, BART, and right next door to Starbucks. As someone with celiac, I'm so happy to have Kitava nearby. So many wonderful options. From brunch, to lunch, to desserts ... just amazing. Please stop by and check them out.

After trying to get into a couple of other places to eat in DT Walnut Creek, I lucked out and found Kitava. Wow! Gluten free AND delicious in a stylish space with outdoor seating. I had the Paprika Chicken plate which came with rice and perfectly cooked Brocolli. The chicken was so flavorful and had a yummy dipping sauce. Chased it with a Marin Ginger lemongrass Kombucha (non-alcoholic) and it made a prefect stop. Yum! I'll be back!

This isn't my first time getting Kitava, but I usually get takeout so it was great to finally go in person today. The place is really nice inside and out. The outdoor patio is cozy and welcoming with its string lights and flowers, and the interior has a great, bright vibe with beautiful woven light fixtures and an open, airy feel. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and you can choose to order at the front or on a kiosk. I really appreciated how fast the food came out in just 10 minutes. They also have a really convenient, organized station with water, utensils, and to-go boxes and bags if needed. What we ordered: Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Chipotle Aioli - Crispy, flaky, and soft in the middle without being dry at all. The chipotle aioli was just okay, and the Brussels sprouts actually tasted better with the jalapeno aioli. Kitava Fries - Crispy and just plain good. I've tried them before with the ketchup; the ketchup was really sour to me, but it still tasted good paired with the fries. Build-Your-Own (BYO) Bowl - I usually always get the BYO bowl, switch up my toppings and veggies, and every single time it's delicious. Today I skipped the base and usually get their plant based protein patties, but since they were out, I went with chimichurri mushrooms, kale slaw, za'atar cauliflower, corn and bean salad, and guacamole with jalapeno lime dressing. I like both their jalapeno lime dressing and herb ranch. They both taste great with the bowl. My bowl today was good, well seasoned, and tasted like a fresher, healthier version of Chipotle. I decided to get a side of fries and mix them right into my bowl instead of a grain base, and it took it to another level, turning it into the best kind of loaded fries. Watermelon Cooler - Refreshing and not too sweet. They have a good amount of vegan options on their menu, though some items are vegetarian or contain animal products, so just make sure to double check when ordering. As a vegan, I really appreciate having such delicious options available. The staff are very nice as well. A huge plus is they use fruit oil instead of seed oils in a lot of their products, so this is the perfect spot if you're actively avoiding seed oils. Overall, a great dine in experience, and I will definitely continue to order from Kitava.

BYO Bowl Jasmine Rice, Crispy Chicken, Chipotle Aioli, Sweet Potatoes, Cumin Beans
    Rayana B.

I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the food! This was my first time eating here and I'll definitely come back. The restaurant looks amazing inside and out. This is a nice spot for a quick bite or lunch date with some friends or family. I ordered for pick up and my food was ready before I arrived, still maintaining freshness and accuracy. I decided to try their most popular meal the Build Your Own Bowl with Jasmine Rice, Sweet Potato, Crispy Chicken and Cumin Beans with a side of Chipotle Aioli (Mild Spice). Everything was filling, well balanced and seasoned perfectly. I'm convinced every item was portioned, because my meal wasn't over powered by pounds of rice.

Visiting from Southern California while following a strict Whole30 diet for health reasons, I was so happy to find a place that made eating well feel like a treat. I ordered a BYO bowl with cauliflower rice, paprika chicken, mushrooms, plantains, and Green Goddess dressing. Every single bite was flavorful, fresh, and incredibly satisfying. The cauliflower rice deserves a special shoutout--it was hands down the best cauliflower rice I've ever eaten! The combination of ingredients was perfectly balanced, and I left feeling full without feeling weighed down. I only wish you had a location in Pasadena. I'd be a regular! Highly recommend for anyone looking for healthy food that doesn't sacrifice flavor.

I love the food here!!! It's like the fancy version of the hot food bar at Whole foods grocery stores but way better. I had the new Chipotle protein meal with fingerling potatoes and a fresca. Everything had flavor and was light, fresh and tasty. The avocado goddess sauce is my favorite, the base is greek yogurt .

    Power Bowl with Protein Patties

Everything about this place is terrific. Beautiful decor and ambience, tasty and nutritious food, kind staff and reasonable prices. Very hard to execute the way they do. When you are infinity scrolling through Yelp trying to decide what to eat, just stop here as you'll be rewarded with a healthy and delicious meal. I had the Power Bowl with the protein patties which was very filling. Kitava is comparable to True Food in many aspects. Will definitely be returning regularly.

The noise was a bit loud that I felt I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my husband. But the vibe was great. I enjoyed looking around at the decor. We ordered: - TRUFFLE FRIES for appetizers - I loved everything about it. haha. Tastey! - linguine & clams - I ordered this. It was good. However, I felt it was way oily. And after every bite I took, I had to wipe my mouth. And I accidentally spilled oil on my shirt. - PASTA ALLA CARBONE with steak - My husband enjoyed it and started to get full towards clearing out his bowl haha. - SCALLOPED POTATOES - I ordered a side of this. Definitely was not expecting to look the way it did, but I thought the presentation was beautiful. It was good; however, I was not a fan at how crunchy and hard the top first layer was. In a few areas, it was almost burnt. But I thought it was pretty good without the need for a type of sauce on the side. - For drinks, I had to Summer sangria and my husband had the Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed it. Definitely hit the spot. No complaints at all about these drinks. - And Kevin surprised us with a dessert to celebrate : Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was delicious. Very flavorful. She handed us a "free appetizer" at the resturant a few blocks away. It was 2 pm on a late September 2026 Saturday. We made our way to the restaurant and waited in the lobby for a few moments where the hostesses had their backs to my wife and me. After my wife headed to the ladies room, I waited a few more moments until one of the hostesses ask "have you been helped"? I replied "No". I waited for my wife to return before having us seated. We waited between 12-15 with no recognition from ANY wait team. Frustrated and ready to leave (1st time ever in 60 years of going to restaurants!) I got up and went to the hostess and shared we were going to leave a d was curious if they were short servers? We had not recieved any acknowledgement we were there after the hosteess Sophia kindly seated us. Finally, our late lunch menu was down to less than 13 minutes since the "brunch" ended at 2:30 pm. The brûlée was super tasty, with fresh fruit on top and great texture. I only wish the rest of the meal had followed suit. I mean, it may have, but I didn't receive half of what I ordered :( The Arnold Palmer was a no-show, which was a huge bummer because, for whatever reason, that sounded like the best thing in the world yesterday. I'm reckon it was just an honest mistake. The staff at Cooperage are human, after all. Speaking of no-shows, go ahead and add my soup to the "Missing Dinner" reward money posters. This one really hurt because A) I originally had to pay a modest charge to upgrade my side, and B) Iam an incorrigible and shameless slut for soup, Lastly, when they packed the food, they put a pickle spear in the same container as the sandwich. Normally this is, like, my reminder that there is good in this world. However last night it was as if they dumped half of the jar of pickle juice over the entire bottom of the container, then put the sandwich on top of it. The result? Soggy, inedible sandwich roll bottoms. It was the ruin of two of my favorite things: pickles and carbs. I wouldn't be averse to possibly trying Cooperage again in the future, but paying over $50 to only recoup $16 in credits for a meal in which only the dessert came out ok was a definite disappointment.

We started with a Cacio e Pepe Biscuit and some wine. I was curious about the Spanish wines on their menu, so I decided to try all three, opting for the 3-oz pours instead of the 6-oz. We then shared the Beet Salad and Ceviche Tostadas. The salad combined golden beets, quinoa, and sherry vinaigrette, creating a delicious combination of flavors. The tostadas came with mahi-mahi, mango salsa, and avocado, and we both loved them. Unfortunately, I somehow lost the right to eat the third one to my wife! For our main courses, we ordered the Paella and Linguine Gamberi. The paella featured saffron rice, chorizo, shrimp, other seafood, and a few ingredients whose names I can't recall. The combination was excellent, and the Linguine Gamberi was equally delicious. After all that food, we somehow convinced ourselves we still had room for their Dessert for Two. It came with key lime pie and three other small desserts, all beautifully presented on a single plate. Finishing them proved more challenging than ordering them, but we managed to taste everything and even finish a couple! Throughout our meal, our server, whose name I unfortunately can't recall, was on top of her game. She was attentive, and our wine glasses were never empty for long. We never had to wait long before placing our next order. The rest of the staff were equally efficient, clearing our table promptly after each course. We enjoyed our comfortable indoor table, but I also noticed their lovely outdoor seating area, which looked like a wonderful place to relax on a nice day. With excellent food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere, we had a thoroughly enjoyable first visit. Next time, I might save a little more room for dessert!
