Just long enough to give us some time to browse the front of the restaurant which had an area of Peruvian foods and artistry. Our server was super sweet and attentive and answered all of our (many!) questions on the menu. We started off with a chilled chicken and potato appetizer. It was delicious and unlike anything I have ever tried before. For my meal, I had the pollo saltado. It was delicious and again, very unlike anything I have tried before. This was our first time at a Peruvian spot and we definitely plan on returning and seeking out more Peruvian food in the future!

Nicole was outstanding and so knowledgeable about every entrée on the menu. Her pride and knowledge about what this restaurant had to offer was impressive and refreshing. There's some type of green hot sauce they have that is enough to give this restaurant five stars alone. FRESH, flavorful and healthy. I cannot wait to go back. Part 2: we went back again tonight for dinner after going there for the first time for lunch. Again all of it was soo good. I HAVE to know the story now about why the street sign ended up being spelled "perubian" instead of Peruvian. Different staff this time, but equally as amazing and knowledgeable. I can never taste the fruit or make out the flavors for ciders and I'm a sucker for anything guava so was excited for the Sazon guava hibiscus cider, and while it was nice, sadly couldn't make out the flavors. We didn't plan or book anything so we just decided on the type of food we wanted and googled. We originally chose somewhere else but could not get a reservation. Then we ran into Toro on google. The Lomo Saltado was the eye catcher here and what made us want to come here. We arrived roughly 40 mins ahead of time (didn't know traffics would be light). That was no problem. They sat us immediately. It was a nice day so we sat outside. It was a beautiful view of the golf course with the burning Toro sign adding a fun touch. Our waitress was a sweet young woman who was very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered every question as if she was cooking it all herself. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to start out. Once the bottle arrived we ordered our starters. We shared the Lomo Saltado and Empanadas. The empanadas were delicious, and the herb sauce on the side elevated the flavors. The Lomo Saltado was delicious on a bed of rice. My only disappointment is that traditional Lomo Saltado comes with Fries and lots of veggies. This was great, but I was hoping for those fries and veggies. I ordered the Red Snapper Fillets with Coconut Rice as my main course and my wife ordered the Lobster Fried Rice. We felt these would pair great with the white wine we were already enjoying. As stated in the picture, prawns were included with my dish but I had them put them on the side and my wife enjoyed them. The lobster came on the shell lying on top of the fried rice. My wife felt like that was a nice touch. She chopped up the prawns and mixed that in also. She loved it a lot. Even our waitress thought it was a nice add. My red snapper fillets came a top a bed of snap peas that were sliced up and in a pool of a coconut based sauce. This dish was amazing. I cannot rave enough about the snap peas in this dish. They brought the enter thing to life. The coconut rice was also amazing and cooked to perfection. I do feel like it could have benefited from having a bit of crispy rice mixed into it. I forget the name of the free dessert the waitress brought us, but it was amazing. It was billed as more of a soufflé but I found it to be more like a lava cake on a cookie shell. They served with a a slightly lemony ice cream. You wouldn't think that would work with chocolate but it totally did. After our meal I wanted to stay a bit to drink a bottle of water and let some of that alcohol settle out of my system since I was driving and don't like to risk the biscuit. So we stopped at the bar. I got my sparkling water and my wife ordered a dirty martini. She said it was the best dirty martini she ever had. This was a sensational place to celebrate our anniversary considering it was an impromptu pick. Kudos to all involved.
