BBQ cafeteria style...it was just ok! This is just not my style of good BBQ! Reminds me of another bbq restaurant in the area.

I'll start this review with their adherence to COVID guidelines. They do an excellent job here, everyone masked up, staying 6 feet apart and no one in the dining room unlike several other area restaurants that I've been to in the local area lately for pick ups. I thought indoor dining was not allowed right now? This is a new chain restaurant to the area and it's a really good one for BBQ. I'v eaten at one down in NC in the past and really enjoyed it, glad to see them open here. It's so refreshing when a place opens for business, they're so happy to hear from you, the gal on the phone was so perky and friendly and happy to have my business. She handled the order perfectly. She was trained very well. When I arrived everyone was excited to have you as a customer, my meal was ready, I gave them my card and was out of there in less than 5 minutes. I had the BBQ beef plate, yum! 1/2lb of very tasty BBQ beef with corn bread included. I got a side of beans with it which were tasty as well. Wonderful atmosphere! Delicious Bbq. My husband got the brisket with slaw. The brisket needed to be cooked a bit longer but tasty. My husband smokes bbq too. The Cole slaw was excellent. I got the pulled pork with cheesy potatoes. The pork was very flavorful. I loved the seasoning and smoke. The cheesy potatoes were great! Yummy! We got 2 baby back ribs just to try. The star! Wow. That I'm itself can speak volumes. Great food friendly staff atmosphere is enjoyable. Food is awesome some of the best tasting bbq I have had and I lived in Kansas City, near Texas, and been through St. Louis a lot. Recommend the sampler plate with all the meats for your first go around. And don't forget the desert. read more

We catered for 30 people and they did a terrific job! We ordered ribs, briskets, chicken and corn bread and it was excellent. The service was awesome as they carried the food to the car and gave us napkins and were amiable. The food was great and I will definitely go back again. read more

I was able to try out this location recently. My mom and stepdad seem to be rather fond of it. I enjoyed my half chicken and we got some sides to share...Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and fries. I believe my mom got her usual pulled pork and my stepdad decided to try something new and got the Juicy Lucy burger. I believe he was disappointed, he'd ordered medium well and the burger was very rare in the middle and he couldn't finish it. The staff was very attentive and polite. It was probably just a fluke, they had said that the burger was still in the smoker and would need a couple minutes on the grill...I wonder if they rushed it because they didn't want us to wait too long. Still an overall pleasant experience, and we will most likely be back. read more

It's a fast casual place with plenty of seating indoor and out I had the smoked juicy Lucy (cheese burger) I think it their monthly menu options get it while it last i believe the patty is 1/2 lbs cooked to perfection the patty was seasoned well and juicy the wifey got the spare ribs it's tender enough that it fall of the bone they offer variety sauces on the table to accommodate with the meat in my opinion the highlight of the meal was the potato pie the whole elements goes so well the bottom layer has the honey graham crumbs the middle is the potato pie filling top with homemade whip cream read more

Loved the Salmon, Mac and cheese and corn bread from here! The salmon is thick cut and has a nice lightly charred outer. The corn bread is complimentary. And the mac and cheese is an extra charge but very good nd worth it. I order for lunch and the foods always ready quickly. Had a great experience at this BBQ spot in Naperville. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was asked if I had any questions. It's an open style kitchen and you can see the attention to detail's! I Asked about the difference in brisket and boy was I pleased with the lean brisket sandwich. Tasted like I was eating a delicious steak! As I was walking in, a man (with NO mask/face covering) and his wife were walking out with their order in hand. I had to do a double take because no one should be in an establishment without a mask in IL!!! I placed my order reluctantly and asked the cashier if they served the man w/no mask and he said yes. All staff were wearing masks appropriately, which was a good thing! BUT the fact they served someone w/ no mask bothers me to no end. I dont think I will be back. The food was just ok. I had the 2 meat platter w/ brisket and pulled pork, mac and cheese, and green beans. This is not my first time eating Mission Bbq but it is at this location. First of all I can be quite critical when it comes to authentic BBQ when in fact real BBQ is in states like Texas and Kansas, I've had real BBQ in both. There are 2 chains creeping into the area as of the last couple of years which this is one. This place was not quite Kansas BBQ but for the Midwest, I gave it 5 stars. I really liked the menu option with a meat only portion...who needs a bun, that's just filler. The menu was ala-carte, which is fine. The order process is at the counter, I ordered the Brislet, juicy (option) and a side of Baked Beans. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork (meat only) and a side of Mac-N-Cheese. Now here's where the 5 star reinforcement, Brisket is usually fatty, but this portion that was served was very little. The Brisket was tender, juicy and quite flavorful. At the tables they had 6 choices of BBQ sauce. I chose a mix of their KC classic and the Smokey Mountain...Nice flavor addition. The Baked beans were a very nice touch. My wife said the Pulled pork was tender and flavorful as well, she gave me a taste to try. Pretty good, maybe a little dry but she did not ask for the added juice. There were plenty of open tables inside but we opted for the outside picnic tables. (beautiful day). All in all, we were pleasently surprised. That's not so bad they also forgot one of the sides and no bread, we were supposed to get 20 buns and 20 cornbread buns, couldn't eat the BBQ without it, so we had to wait 45 min to start eating the food! Ordered carry out for 2 people. The ordering and pick-up process were both very smooth. We shared 5 baby back ribs, and a 3 meat plate with turkey, pulled chicken and pulled pork. We also tried Mac and cheese and baked beans. Everything was delicious. The bark on the ribs was perfect and the meat just fell off the bones. We tried a couple of sauces and they were both great as well. There was enough food for 2 large plates and leftovers. Great value! I will continue to return for my BBQ fix. read more

We walked in and we're greeted by an amazing roar from the employees saying "HEY FOLKS!" I was joyed at the hostility of the staff. We walked up to the counter and were swiftly greeted by the Joey and he took our order.... but i'll tell you one thing.... once that price of the meal spurred out joeys mouth, i-i-i-i get furious. it was astonishing what kind of prices the War in Ukraine drove up. But i swiftly calmed once i realized no one's in control of the prices and economy of the United St ates God Bless. I handed Joey my debit card... he swiped.............. and we went to get seated. I previously reviewed Mission BBQ in 6/2018, Downers Grove location. I have visited that location many times since posting that review and was never disappointed. Tonight I went to Mission BBQ in Naperville off Rt. 59. I ordered carry out, 2 meat sampler with a side and a drink. When I opened the container I was very disappointed. Small portion size. Pulled chicken was dry, very tiny shreds, taste was off. The turkey was good but only 2 slices. Side of baked beans was good. I ate my meal and was still hungry. Very disappointed! read more

I'm in town for work and had lunch here today. The gentleman at the counter was nice, food was good. The best part was looking at the memorabilia around the walls showing respect for all branches of military, police and firefighters. As I was leaving, it was right at noon. The National Anthem came on and every customer stood and placed their hand on their heart, saluting the large flag hanging in the dining room.
