I'll start this review with their adherence to COVID guidelines. They do an excellent job here, everyone masked up, staying 6 feet apart and no one in the dining room unlike several other area restaurants that I've been to in the local area lately for pick ups. I thought indoor dining was not allowed right now? This is a new chain restaurant to the area and it's a really good one for BBQ. I'v eaten at one down in NC in the past and really enjoyed it, glad to see them open here. It's so refreshing when a place opens for business, they're so happy to hear from you, the gal on the phone was so perky and friendly and happy to have my business. She handled the order perfectly. She was trained very well. When I arrived everyone was excited to have you as a customer, my meal was ready, I gave them my card and was out of there in less than 5 minutes. I had the BBQ beef plate, yum! 1/2lb of very tasty BBQ beef with corn bread included. I got a side of beans with it which were tasty as well. I have eaten at Mission many times in different parts of the country. Todays experience did not live up to what I have been accustomed to. I unfortunately took this order to go so I could not address with staff. I ate my food about 5 minutes after leaving restaurant. The good... Staff was friendly and offered recommendations. The cheesy potatoes were pretty good. I would give 5 stars for service. The bad.... The meats were awful. I went in before noon and you could tell all the meats were leftovers from yesterday. The brisket was dry. The turkey was dry. The pork tasted like it was reheated too long. Shreds of pork were dry and pieces were crunchy. I may give them another chance but not sure. This was me and my husband first visit this evening. After driving over 45 minutes, we learn.They had ran out of barbecue ribs That was my main reason because I searched over the website trying to find the best ribs But after looking over the menu I decided to just grab a pool pork sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. My husband decided to do the chicken sandwich. O, m, g, we were not disappointed even though. Management, Mr. Adam saw the frustration on my face, to my surprise. He came over to the table because he found a 1/2 slab of ribs. Oh my God, they were so delicious. Let's not forget before that. He came over with some delicious sweet potato pie. Oh my God, that was really delicious. I am not kidding you. I was not only surprised to learn that they honor all soldiers on the wall. So he was very honored to ask me to bring a photo of my son because I am a God Star mom. Wonderful atmosphere! Delicious Bbq. My husband got the brisket with slaw. The brisket needed to be cooked a bit longer but tasty. My husband smokes bbq too. The Cole slaw was excellent. I got the pulled pork with cheesy potatoes. The pork was very flavorful. I loved the seasoning and smoke. The cheesy potatoes were great! Yummy! We got 2 baby back ribs just to try. The star! Unfortunately Mission has taken a major step backwards. The food is just not as good as it was several years ago. It's rather dry and bland. I went at lunchtime and there were just two tables taken which tells me others feel the same. The prices have also escalated which is reason enough not to go back. read more

I was able to try out this location recently. My mom and stepdad seem to be rather fond of it. I enjoyed my half chicken and we got some sides to share...Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and fries. I believe my mom got her usual pulled pork and my stepdad decided to try something new and got the Juicy Lucy burger. I believe he was disappointed, he'd ordered medium well and the burger was very rare in the middle and he couldn't finish it. The staff was very attentive and polite. It was probably just a fluke, they had said that the burger was still in the smoker and would need a couple minutes on the grill...I wonder if they rushed it because they didn't want us to wait too long. Still an overall pleasant experience, and we will most likely be back. read more

Food is awesome some of the best tasting bbq I have had and I lived in Kansas City, near Texas, and been through St. Louis a lot. As I was walking in, a man (with NO mask/face covering) and his wife were walking out with their order in hand. I had to do a double take because no one should be in an establishment without a mask in IL!!! I placed my order reluctantly and asked the cashier if they served the man w/no mask and he said yes. All staff were wearing masks appropriately, which was a good thing! BUT the fact they served someone w/ no mask bothers me to no end. I dont think I will be back. The food was just ok. I had the 2 meat platter w/ brisket and pulled pork, mac and cheese, and green beans. This is not my first time eating Mission Bbq but it is at this location. Loved the Salmon, Mac and cheese and corn bread from here! The salmon is thick cut and has a nice lightly charred outer. The corn bread is complimentary. And the mac and cheese is an extra charge but very good nd worth it. I order for lunch and the foods always ready quickly. Had a great experience at this BBQ spot in Naperville. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was asked if I had any questions. It's an open style kitchen and you can see the attention to detail's! I Asked about the difference in brisket and boy was I pleased with the lean brisket sandwich. Tasted like I was eating a delicious steak! Ordered carry out for 2 people. The ordering and pick-up process were both very smooth. We shared 5 baby back ribs, and a 3 meat plate with turkey, pulled chicken and pulled pork. We also tried Mac and cheese and baked beans. Everything was delicious. The bark on the ribs was perfect and the meat just fell off the bones. Tonight I went to Mission BBQ in Naperville off Rt. 59. I ordered carry out, 2 meat sampler with a side and a drink. When I opened the container I was very disappointed. Small portion size. Pulled chicken was dry, very tiny shreds, taste was off. The turkey was good but only 2 slices. Side of baked beans was good. I ate my meal and was still hungry. Very disappointed! read more

Salad! Get an entree salad with meat topping!! Been here a few times-always great eats. I'm try eat better and so I got the entree size salad with pulled pork toppings. The restaurant is impeccably fresh, clean, offered a variety of comfortable seating, great food, friendly staff, and honors our military and first responders with its entire decor! I had pulled pork (they give you a good sized helping), fries (they were perfect), coleslaw, and apple cobbler. The plate included a slice of cornbread which I didn't taste because I was so full. I'm in town for work and had lunch here today. The gentleman at the counter was nice, food was good. The best part was looking at the memorabilia around the walls showing respect for all branches of military, police and firefighters. As I was leaving, it was right at noon. The National Anthem came on and every customer stood and placed their hand on their heart, saluting the large flag hanging in the dining room.
