Very tasty! Satisfied my beef cravings for the day. This place is going on my regular list. Can't wait to try their other meats too!

The food, the service, the ambience, the cleanliness, and the staff. They're great, the food was phenomenal. This is the kind of experience that I want when I choose to go outside of my home to eat. This is the kind of place that I can take my family to and know that we are going to have a wonderful time and enjoy in the partaking of good food. The manager I did not get his name but I went on August 30 just looking for somewhere to eat and I happened upon Mission barbecue all I can say is wow! wow!wow! wow! The manager came over to every table that had someone sitting at it, and had a conversation asked how our food was, and he asked did we need anything. The young lady who was taking care of the dining area was so attentive. The Customer Service is immaculate. I just loved it. I will be returning.

I only got the brisket sandwich and it was perfect for what I needed. The meat was cooked really well and it was just a good classic sandwich. I came in at the end of night so I got super fast service. The only thing that I would've liked differently was a little bit more clarity on what all the barbecue sauces were. They have so many sauces, but the descriptions for them were not quite visible anywhere so I didn't really know what I was getting. The food that I ordered was takeout so I didn't eat in, but they had a variety of places that you could come in and sit to eat if you choose. It was a very casual vibe as well. This is nice spot if you want a quick bite to eat or if you want to sit down and have casual barbecue.

The DELICIOUS FOOD! The STAFF!! The Whole Nine Yards!!! 5 stars is really Not Enough. From the warm and welcoming ambience the decor and celebration of our service people to the HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL yet Friendly staff I didn't want to leave. Brisket! Shrimp! Collards! Mac n Cheese! EVERY item was Delectable... But the FEEL of BEING amongst the "family" I'd choose if I could, ABOUNDED...I left Completely Satisfied physically and Full Emotionally because I know I'll be treated Exactly the same way when we return. The portions were Generous but not Obscene and we were treated to their scrumptious strawberry shortcake and gifted with "coupons" for complimentary sandwiches for our next meal...COURTNEY, you're going to be the Very Best R.N. and I pray you'll have a few hours a week to Bless MBBQ with your spirit between classes. JERMAINE what a charming Mgr and Gentleman. Last but ABSOLUTELY not LEAST the STAR at the counter CORA (?) You made the menu come to Life as you meticulously described every item we inquired about. You're personality is a Vibrant as your Gorgeous red hair!!! The Best dining experience from door to table that I've had in years. BRAVO to the Whole Team! See you for my Birthday dinner!!!

This is always a solid place to eat. The food is really well-made and flavorful, the service is great, and it just has a fun, rustic ambience that I enjoy. The black plate special is always worth trying. Sometimes it's a seasonal item but is often something like a smoked prime rib. Fantastic. Good portions. Great value.

I got the half and half. The chicken was a little salty but it had a good flavor. I got the lean brisket. It was a little dry taste a little like beef jerky. One of my sauces looked old it was like jelly texture. The Macc and cheese was good it was a small portion. It came to 17 dollars. The meal also came with cornbread. No drink. The service was decent I didn't wait too long for my food. I went around lunch time. The ambiance was laid back. Texas theme . Area Not great for close parking , was hard to get close to the building. Had to walk from the target parking lot.

Not too much to say here that I've not said about other Mission locations. Service was great and the food was excellent per the usual. I went before noon so I didn't have to stand for the anthem. All win.

I travel to Baltimore often for work, and when two completely separate people tell me I need to eat…read moresomewhere, eventually I'm going to listen. In the case of Chaps Pit Beef, I've now listened twice. First, the setting deserves its own star. There's something wonderfully Baltimore about pulling into a place famous across the country for pit beef, sharing the immediate surroundings with a strip club, and knowing you can shop for used tires across the street when you're finished. Add the walls of awards, television appearances, photos and decades of accumulated lore inside and the whole thing feels less like stopping for lunch and more like making a small pilgrimage. And that's part of why I'm struggling with Chaps. I've tried several of the sandwiches across my two visits. I've piled on the raw onions, pickles and sauces. I've ordered too much--which feels both heroic and completely appropriate here--and walked away convinced that Chaps is very good. But I haven't found my five-star Chaps order yet. The pit beef itself is clearly the reason for the pilgrimage, and the condiment station is part of the experience. Beef, raw onion and that horseradish-heavy Tiger Sauce is a combination I could happily keep attacking. But then you look around at the menu and realize you've barely scratched the surface: beef, sausage, corned beef, turkey, enormous combinations of all of the above, gravy fries, homemade sides and sandwiches carrying names and reputations of their own. It's almost overwhelming. That's ultimately why I'm leaving Chaps at four stars--for now. There's a five-star experience hiding here. I can feel it. I'm just not convinced I've ordered it yet. Next visit I'm stripping this thing back before building it up again: pit beef medium-rare, raw onion and Tiger Sauce as the control. Then I'm going in the opposite direction with one of the ridiculous combinations--probably Guy's DDD--and finally giving the gravy fries their proper opportunity. If that unlocks what generations of Baltimoreans and seemingly every food television personality already know, I'll happily come back here and move this to five stars. If after three visits I'm still admiring the institution more than craving the food, maybe it moves the other direction. For now: Chaps is absolutely worth the stop. The food is good, the history is real, and the atmosphere couldn't be manufactured if someone tried. I just haven't cracked the code yet. Four stars, with one more trip pending.

But I do think the sauces and sides have been lackluster in the past. Not this time! I was pleasantly surprised to see about five or six different sauce options including an absolutely incredible "White Lightning" sauce. SO good! I remember in the past there being literally just BBQ, hot sauce, and mustard so it's nice to see there being more of a variety. The sides I tried including the beans and coleslaw were also delicious. I remember the coleslaw being good in the past but for whatever reason, this one just hit different. It was perfectly seasoned and went well with the brisket and white lightning sauce. Did they change the recipe or am I just losing my mind? I'm not sure but my stomach was definitely happy either way. My boyfriend also mentioned how the mac and cheese was much better than before and although I didn't try any myself, it even LOOKED better than previous versions. The cheesy sausage was delicious as usual, the brisket was moist and fell apart, and the wings were perfectly cooked and slathered in a delicious buffalo sauce. OH and the drinks? So good. If you like tiki-inspired stuff, you'll love their menu. Is there someone new back in the kitchen working some magic or did I just really miss coming here? I'm not sure but it was one of the best meals I've had here so far and I will definitely be returning!

The banchan was yummy and included a variety of options. The corn cheese was also delicious. The meat seemed high quality and our server stayed on top of switching out the grill and helping us with menu suggestions. My main reason for four stars and not five is I think they could do better with their gluten free friendly options. One side of the menu was clearly marked for gluten free options while the other side wasn't, making it a hassle to flip back and forth and figure out what I could eat. Despite having quite a few gluten free options, they didn't have any gluten free soy sauce (or tamari). This would've really taken the meal to the next level as the gluten free meats come without any marination and are very very plain on their own. We also ordered large combo for 5-6 people which had a good amount of meats and sides but was supposed to come with six servings of rice. We never received the rice but weren't provided a reason or a discount. I'd return in the future but probably smuggle in my own personal bottle of tamari so I could enjoy the flavors of the meat more. Overall, the price at $215 for six of us (plus drinks) was pretty good, regardless of these small hiccups.
