We happened to be out in the area , on purpose, and knew we were going to need some grub before we headed back to La Casa. We saw that this place had taken over the property which if I call was formally Ruby Tuesday which we miss because of the salad bar. So we headed out west to do what we were going to do, got done than started thinking about our options of where to fill our stomachs. We've been to most of the chains that are in that particular part of town and we finally decided this was the best option as it was new to both of us and in my opinion how can you go wrong with BBQ? Loved the ambiance!! Military themed ! Which i respected and to be honest even if the food was trash I would still give it at least 4 stars because I am very strong in believing that our service members deserve all of our gratitude and thanks as well as 1st responders. If i would have saw anyone in uniform I would have gladly paid thied bill!. Anyway you order at the counter and pick up your order at the counter when your name is called and its general seating which is booths, tables and outdoor seating. The ribs were delicious meat was fall off the bone never even had to pick one up. Brisket was offered 2 different ways, juicy or lean, we both opted for juicy. Delicious as well. I had the jalapeño and cheese sausage as well which in my opinion leaned more towards the cheesy aspect but you were able to taste the jalapeños. The baked Mac and Cheese was a little dry in my opinion but it kinda seems to be that everywhere that offers baked Mac and cheese so maybe I just need stop ordering that item. The baked beans were good as well but im not a huge fan of warmed beans but they were still good nice chunks if brisket included. The sauces in my opinion I thought they were a touch watery but had nice flavors. All in all we enjoyed our meal and honestly I wasn't aghast by the bill $65 with 2 " Never Forget" cups to go.where a portion of the proceeds go to a foundation. The staff was very nice. It is more of a fast food restaurant. We tried the brisket and turkey. The brisket had so much fat on it, we had to ask for a different portion. The turkey was very dry. I only ate a little bit. Both meats were over salted. I wouldn't return. read more

What can I say about the perfect place for mouthwatering BBQ! I have tears in my eyes because I am so thankful for the amazing food and service. The rib meat literally falls of the bone. Tender enough for this Veteran with dentures to enjoy. The smokey, salty goodness really doesn't even need sauce. If you do like sauces though you are in for a real treat. My favorites are the Memphis belle mixed with Smoky Mountain. There are plenty to choose from all the way from really hot and spicy to the mild smokey sweetness. The staff like Roxy, and Vanessa really care that your dining experience is the best it can be. They also have a black plate special that tantalize those taste buds. During the summer it was grilled smoked shrimp now they switched to some of the best smoked wings so tender and falling off the bone as well. They have all kinds of sides that send your taste buds off on another adventure... My favorite is the tender cooked just right collard greens that bring me back to the good ole southern cooking from the south! I like to mix them with the sweet complimentary corn bread. I recommend spending the money in their refillable cups because when you purchase the cup it helps groups like the first responders and disabled veterans. Everyone that works there always has a smile on their face and happy to ensure your dining experience is the best you ever had. For dessert don't forget the salted caramel pudding one bite will lift your spirit so high your feet won't touch the ground as you leave. Unlike some of the one star reviewers, I'm not triggered and offended that the owners of this restaurant chain chose to go with a patriotic theme that celebrates all military and first responders. To me, complaining about this is like going to TGI Friday's and obsessing over all the kitschty crap stuck to the walls. It's a theme, people. Our service was very, very good. We received solid value for our three meat platter that we split. They had eight different barbecue sauces to choose from, which really impressed me. Six of them sit on every table, plus two other bonus ones. The St. Louis and Texas style sauces were probably my favorites. The brisket was quite good. The pulled pork was nice and the ribs were acceptable. Perhaps just a little overdone. I enjoyed the beans with brisket quite a bit. I'll come here again and think this is a good addition to the barbecue scene in Arvada. read more

This military themed restaurant not only represents but honors our veterans past and present as well as our first responders. They even have a single table for the fallen soldier. I was a little skeptical before I went due to it is a chain and most live off their name but this is really good BBQ and definitely looking to sample MORE of their offerings. We had the "most" brisket and was moist but not fatty. Lemonade was perfect and the baked Beans with Brisket is another option to try. The potato salad was ok and the peach cobbler was a little runny but good. Looking forward to try the Cole slaw next trip because I will definitely be going back!!! Love this new BBQ spot in Arvada! This is the "order at the counter" then go find a table style of BBQ joint. We stopped in on Christmas Eve for lunch and the line was super short and there were plenty of tables available. Even after you have picked up your food, employees cruise through the dining area to make sure you have everything you need. Mission is very reasonably priced. Two of us split a 3 Meat Combo with 2 sides, Cornbread & got 2 drinks for about $40. It was a ton of food. Pro Tip: They do not accept credit card tips. If you want to show appreciation for the folks taking your order, bring cash or give them a nice online review. The rib meat falls off the bone. The pulled pork was perfectly smoked. And the non-lean Brisket was perfectly seasoned and deliciously moist. They have sauces from all over the country. I especially enjoyed the KC & Memphis style sauces. This place shows love for Veterans, both in kitschy decor and in donations to veteran support services. The music is patriotic and supports their pro-America theme. We love this restaurant, their focus & customer service - The food is good, but unfortunately, waaayyyy too salty! I couldn't eat the pulled chicken because it was just too salty. I took home my leftovers & rinsed off the chicken, hoping that would help, poured on some bbq sauce , but nope, still too salty! The collard greens are amazing! Those were salty, but not as bad as the chicken. The first time we went I got an ear of corn with my meal - Couldn't eat it because of all the salty spices they put on it. Maybe we'll go back just for the greens. Lower the salt content in your food, please! If people want to add salt to their food they can! We went there on a Sunday afternoon. It is a very interesting place. First, the people were very friendly and helpful in explaining all the dishes. There was a steady pulse of activity as the restaurant took our orders at the counter. We also ordered drinks and sat down at a table of our own choosing. I noticed it was a booth with wood seats. There were also tables with wood chairs spread throughout. The theme of the place was patriotic and a bit old fashioned. It seemed busy and people were enjoying the food. I took a few photos and when our order was ready we sent someone to pick it up for us. The booth had 6 different bbq sauces so something for everyone. My spouse ordered a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top which was huge and quite tasty. I ordered a half pound cheeseburger and a side of Mac and cheese. One daughter ordered the bbq shrimp and another the turkey sandwich. All the food looked good and was tasty. My hamburger was thick though not as juicy as I had hoped. The shrimp was excellent. The turkey was good enough for my daughter. All in all a pleasant experience. Pricing was reasonable but it did come up to around $70 for the four meals since we added some drinks and sides. This place is worth considering if you are hungry for bbq as it has a variety from brisket to ribs to pork and chicken along with shrimp. Plenty for everyone! read more

I'm sorry. I really wanted to like this place. I don't want to weigh in on the kitschy decor controversy, because I don't care all that much either way. That being said, this was disappointing BBQ. I had heard from a casual acquaintance that this place was worth checking out. He happens to be from Kansas City so I trusted his input. Seeing the array of sauces on the menu gave me some confidence, but I was disappointed, to say the least. The gent at the front counter was very helpful and just seemed to enjoy working with customers, so I added an extra star just for him. My issue with the food: I got the brisket, which is my usual benchmark for a new-to-me BBQ place. They have 2 options - moist or lean. I got the moist, and it was dryer than any brisket I've had before (aside from my own failed attempts). I shudder to think what the lean option would look like. Way over salted, but somehow also bland. I also tried the hot links which I could not tell if they were cooked or not. They were definitely not warm, for all I could tell they just cut the sausage in half and put it straight under a heat lamp. Having worked in a kitchen before, I have been drilled on the importance of keeping hot foods hot, and cold foods cold. I think the sausage was just over room temp, i.e., the danger zone for food-borne pathogens. That said, the meat was so salted and cured that I don't think anything dangerous would happen, but I just want to eat food that has steam coming off of it if at all possible. The worst part is that the food left me with an unsatisfied BBQ urge. I had a craving for some BBQ but this was not what I could confidently describe as such. read more

Food first. I was a KCBS certified judge for around 7 years so using that judging criteria. Brisket was overcooked and salty. Flavor was good though. No spare ribs which is always a minus for me at a bbq place. The baby backs have a nice bark but again overly salty and falling off the bone is a fail in competitive BBQ. The pulled pork had a good mix of bark and was cooked pretty well. The mac and cheese side and collard greens were very good as were most of their extensive varieties of sauces. The over the top patriotic theme is a little off putting in that they only seem to want to serve military or law enforcement/fire protection personnel which I don't mind because I support those that served but what that also does is limits their customer base to that part of the area's culture that is biased towards any other kind of groups from this culturally diverse city and area. Being an American of Japanese descent with a Chinese American wife made us feel uneasy in a sea of the "very white" of this neighborhood. There are a lot of good choices for BBQ in the area. The food was amazing, except the cheesy potatoes, we don't like onions and it's very oniony, but Jozylyn was fantastic and when I told her I didn't like them she offered the mac and cheese, I would eat that every day!! We had themoist brisket, the pulled pork, jalapeno cheese sausage, baby back ribs, and fries. The corn bread looked delicious but that's going home so we can warm it up and put honey butter on it. Had the most amazing first experience. Ordering was easy. My son and I shared a three meat combo with brisket, sausage and chicken. The brisket was like butter. The sausage had a nice kick and chicken had a good smokiness. We had the greens as a side and they were very tender and delicious. There were six different sauces on each table and we sampled all. I decided to finally try this new place! I was born and raised in KC so I have eaten my fair share of yummy BBQ. First, you are greeted by a friendly and happy group behind the counter. You can see everything going on with your food as it is freshly prepared. Love the way it is decorated honoring our military and law enforcement. They have 6 Signature Sauces-Memphis Bellle/Blue Ridge Smoky Mountain/Texas Twang/NC Vinegar/KC Classic/Tupelo Honey Heat and Bay B Que. Unbelievably KC Classic wasn't my favorite. I fell hard for the Blue Ridge Smoky Mountain. I had the Brisket Moist sandwich and fries so I could choose a sauce. Now here was the treat to my visit. When I came in there was a very tall gentleman behind the counter that seemed like he may have been a Manger or Supervisor extremely friendly and welcoming everyone INCLUDING some Sheriff Officers. What I absolutely loved was this Big Tall guy came out to dining room with a bag and approached the Sheriff Officers table. I believe he was giving them somethings to try. Their faces just lit up. They were very appreciative. It made me feel great seeing these officers just having lunch and someone showing them they are in deed noticed.
