I tried this restaurant in Old Saybrook for breakfast. I could not have been happier! Good food, I had corned beef hash and poached eggs and a bagel, great sevice and reasonably priced. I am a breakfast addict. Love eating at local restaurants and most of the time, I order an egg white cheese omelet with tomatoes and onions. SAYBROOK, CT and the surrounding towns have many restaurants that serve breakfast and many are 4- star and a couple are 5- star. You can eat out for two weeks at these restaurants and have a wonderful breakfast each day, Until this morning, never ate at MIRSINA'S. Three of us went. Small restaurant with tables outside Located in the downtown area of OLD SAYBROOK. This area has lots of charm. ALthough all the tables were filled, we were seated within five minutes. SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND VERY PLEASANT. Prices very reasonable. My wife ordered EGGS BENEDICT and said it was awesome. Portion was large she was able To take some of that home which she had for lunch. My daughter had an egg and cheese wrap which she enjoyed. I ordered my usual Egg white cheese omelet. Came with potatoes and toast. Portions very large. Potatoes were really giood. But, I was disappointed with the taste of the Omelet. I have tasted better. My recent visit was my first and was very positive. The service was very good, prompt & polite. The food was delicious and portions were abundant. There was a constant flow of customers coming in for breakfast which created a bustling near the entrance which added to the cafe's ambiance. My family goes to Mirsina's for breakfast and lunch quite often. The food is always delicious, hot and fresh. The service is fantastic. Mirsina always greets you with a warm smile and oversees everything. She truly wants her customers to be happy. My grandchildren love her chocolate chip pancakes and the cinnabon pancake is to die for! I usually get the yummy egg, sausage and cheese on a bagel. At lunch, you can't go wrong with their wraps, salads or soup. If you like rice pudding, you have to try Mirsina's! I have never tasted better.....Seriously!! After reading a review, I decided to try this restaurant out. The first time was for lunch. We sat outside and enjoyed the activity of people strolling up and down this adorable little Main Street location. The service was great and the staff so friendly. Mirsina herself can be seen helping out her staff and greeting customers. I had the gyro and sweet potato fries. They were excellent! It had been recommended that I try Mirsina's homemade rice pudding and I wasn't disappointed. Probably the best I have had. I went back a second time for breakfast with a friend. This time I shared a Manny omelet with potatoes, bacon and onion...yummm...and a waffle with fresh strawberries. Both were wonderful. The food and the good energy at Mirsina's have made it my go to place whenever I visit family in Old Saybrook. read more

Solid spot for breakfast/brunch. Food comes pretty quickly even when they are busy. Coffee is terrible though. I have never understood how most breakfast spots have such terrible coffee. Waitstaff needs to do a little better as well. All in all though, good food and fair price. If you are in the area, this spot and Paperback are both good options for breakfast or brunch. After reading reviews here I thought that maybe we came on an off day or with a new chef. We had gone to many restaurants at this location before it became Mirsina's with mixed success. First, as it is listed as a greek restaurant, my wife ordered a favorite, Spanikopita. After about a 20 minute wait, we were told they were out. She changed her order to an omelet, and we were treated to another long wait. Food was somewhat mediocre and each dish was missing something important. Hospitality was gruff. Buffalo chicken wrap was so over sauced my "stomach of iron" 15 year old couldn't eat it. Home fries were cold and oily, as if they were deep fried a while ago. Bill was $41 + tip for 4 people eating simple dishes anyone could have cooked at home, so I won't be back. read more

Ate breakfast there twice. First time got the veggie omelet with rye toast. Potatoes were ice cold and omelet was cold. Figured they were just having a bad day. Came back today wife had pancakes with "extra crispy" bacon and I had two eggs over easy with rye toast. Pancakes were raw bacon was not done. My eggs were cold, potatoes were cold and toast was cold. Not going back a third time.
