I wasn't expecting anything amazing but we ordered a pizza to go and it had the texture of tar, was completely burnt at the bottom, and was handled without gloves at the register, our selected topping (jalapeños) were not added to the 15 inch pizza, instead we were given a cup with exactly 5 jalapeño slices. Nobody ate this once we got home, it went to the trash, and we had to go elsewhere. They also did not take a name or even call out orders. This also happened to be the most expensive pizza I've ever ordered. I never ask for refunds on bad food, but this was more akin to theft. read more

Had Mio's over 30 years ago, when they were in Hyde Park, and just moved to Anderson and saw them! They used to be one of my favorite pizza places. We ordered a large with 4 toppings and the toppings were so meager that we weren't sure they were all on there. My husband said nope! He didn't like it at all. Tried again the other night and ordered a medium Chicago style. Ha! I was given a medium pizza box and opened it up and saw this small 7.5" pizza that only took up half the box. I called and was told that that was the medium. $24 pizza that was only 7.5" wide! Then I tried to eat it and it was just gross! The sauce was super bitter and the crust really greasy. I couldn't even finish the first slice. I thought, ok, maybe I'm just tired. I put in fridge to try next day. First bite, nope! Still bitter and greasy. Will not be spending anymore money at this place. Super bummed. I guess things are better in our memories. read more

Horrible eatery. Felt like a college bar run by college kids. Food was very disappointing. The hoagie I got was small, and desperately lacked toppings AND meat. My girlfriend's pizza was rubbery and ALSO lacked meat. Another member from our party ordered a Jack & Coke and it sat on the bar for ten minutes. The thin crust pizza was undercooked. How is that even possible? Toppings were minimal but yet there was a ton of cheese.

They dont answer the phone. Called 6 times in a row after waiting a few minutes in between each call if they were busy. This was around 6pm.

It had been awhile since I had been to this location so we had to come in for another lunch. They are most well known for their deep dish pizza and once again that's what we got on this occasion as well. Since I'm a big time carnivore we got the Meat Topper that come with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon. Since it's a Chicago style deep dish the toppings were in the middle of the pizza with the sauce on top and crust on the bottom. With so many ingredients in there it was definitely a knife and fork pizza as it was thick as could be. It was so delicious as the plentiful toppings were super good as was their sauce and the crust more than held up its end down on the bottom. Every bite was a heavenly treasure. For an appetizer we tried their Pretzel Bites with Bier Cheese. The pretzels were really good and their version of bier/beer cheese was uniquely tasty. This location since it's in the middle of the city is quite lively and thus loud at times so definitely be aware of that although it's not outrageously so. Service extremely slow, ok we weren't in a hurry. Ordered large steak hoagie, it was size of a coney, not great but I'd deal with it. Hoagie came with onions, was ordered without, can't deal with that. Sent back and asked it be removed from bill, decided Mio's just not restaurant for me. To be fair, wife liked her pizza and the fries were good. When she finished, the bill came, they tried to charge for the hoagie that was sent back. I'm coming in hot with some strong opinions: 1) HOT TAKE: Mio's is underrated. 2) Chicago Style Pizza is WAY better than NY Style Pizza... honestly, it's not even close. 3) You can disagree with #2, but you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Okay, fine, you can vote...but you need to reevaluate your opinions on pizza. Chicago Style pizza is delicious and Mio's does it really well. To me, Mio's is pretty comparable with Giordano's. I might prefer Giordano's a little bit, but not by that much. The stuffed pies have a super generous layer of cheese and their sauce is delicious. Honestly, I've never had anything other than the stuffed pies from Mios. As delicious as they are... I'm not sure I need to order anything else. I've dined in before here too (though the picture below is from a delivery order) and the service has always been great. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is hard for me to write, I grew up in Cincinnati and went to Army in 1991. I served my country and loved the opportunity to meet ALL TYPES of people. Never have I met such a racist server, he was very frustrated with dealing with Black People. It was so apparent and very disheartening. Here all these people watching March Madness with Blacks shooting basketball, yet we didn't feel as we be BELONG. I have 2 stars because the food was good; but we felt very disrespected. Best Chicago dish pizza on this side of town. Great food, great environment, and fantastic staff.

Mio's saved us. Got into town late(ish) and had a group of 7 hungry people. Most tables were taken due to trivia night (Tue), but we were able to snag a table. Good range of pizza options for kid size, personal size, sharing... Server was very accommodating with providing beer tastes to our less knowledgeable drinkers. Mio's is a classic stop on a UC Bar Crawl, Gameday, or Short Vine staple. The menu has items for everyone, and the food is quality. The staff and bartenders are also welcoming and offer experimental drinks which are a fun way to try new things and bond with your bartender. I went on Sunday, when there was a UC basketball game, and the crowd was impressive while still maintaining COVID protocols. You'll get a good mix of alumni and current students, and there's plenty of TVs to watch basketball (but I was having fun watching spike ball as well). Mio's is an affordable option while exploring Short Vine and it's definitely on my list of classics around UC Campus. read more

Walking down from the Hampton Inn & Suites, I was looking for a good place to eat, have a brew and watch Monday Night Football. I'm not sure what drew me to Mio's, but maybe it was the wing special. The bartender was friendly and provided great service and suggestions. They had some drink specials. I was sticking to some local craft brews while watching the game. I needed to check out the Buffalo Wings which were cheap and good. In addition, I checked out their personal pizza. It was pretty darn good. The pizza was a good cross between a New York Style or Trenton Tomato Pie and a Chicago style. Odd as it may seem. Had a nice crust, but wasn't thin. It was cheesy and saucy at the same time. We happened to be passing through on a Saturday during late afternoon, and there was a lot of FC Cincinnati action going on, so this was the only place in the Short Vine area where we could find a seat to eat. They had a big watch party of sorts going on, but there was an upstairs party room where we could sit where it was less crowded. Lots of excitement here, and I suspect if you were a student or local it would be a great place to watch a game. The draft list was decent, and we decided to get a medium pizza to share. Looks like based on the prior reviews that we should have chosen the stuffed crust! We just got the regular veggie pizza, and it came with a sesame crust. The crust was pretty firm and tasty on the edges, but the inner section wasn't as crispy. The pizza overall was nothing too special. I also thought it was kind of weird that their veggie pizza obviously had been topped with a bag of frozen mixed veg, as it had the little cubed carrots and peas on it! I didn't hate it, but it could have used more flavor. Our server was really nice and attentive, especially considering how busy it was (and we were sitting upstairs out of the way). I wouldn't come out of my way to eat here, but I suspect it's an easy and convenient place to grab a beer and eats prior to any activity in the area. read more

Loved this place. Went for Trivia and won a couple of times. Went to redeem gift certificate and was told by manager that he was kind of drunk the night of our winning and wrote too much food winnings on certificate. Medium pizza and beer tower. Really. Came for dinner last night before the All American Rejects concert at Bogart's. To any concert goers, this is a short and I mean a hop and a skip, walk to Bogart's and a great option for pre concert dinner! I had the BBQ chicken pizza, my friend had the pizza Blanca, and we got fried pickles as an app. Everything was DELICIOUS, quick, and very well priced. The drink menu is fun and creative, something for everyone. Our server was EXCELLENT very nice, attentive, and efficient. Sydney, our server was PHENOMENAL! She was such a cutie! kept us laughing and all orders were prompt and timely! However, the draft beer was flat -- I believe it was an issue with the CO2 tank and the temperature of the walk-in the kegs are stored in. The servers SAT at the bar and the sound for the game continually got disconnected. The owner eventually came in, she was a nightmare of a human being. The bar staff stood at a pos terminal, in shambles, for thirty minutes trying to troubleshoot some type of problem??? The food was delicious, and I'm honestly mad about it, but it was the only saving grace outside of Sydney. Will we come back? Definitely not. Two thumbs down, mortifying experience -- as an adult. If you're a college kid that doesn't know anything about drinking and overall experience, sure. Probably your speed. read more

This was a GREAT accidental find. I just Googled a la Rosa's near the zoo, and then saw it was carryout only. So we walked down the road and found this place. We ate there and it was 100x better than if we had gone to La Rosa's. Great beer specials and the pizza was absolutely delicious! And we all like pizza and are a little bit of pizza snobs, and we were all super impressed. Definitely going there again and when we take the kids to the zoo. read more

Mio's has some of the best stuffed pizza around and almost certainly the best in Cincinnati. I can't speak for the rest of their menu, but as someone who lived in Chicago for seven years I can attest to their stuffed pizza. The cheese is a perfect gooey consistency, the crust is crisp and buttery, and the sauce is not overly sweet. Get it. This location has college-targeted drink and food specials all week. Friday is a $5 small thin-crust pizza. Pretty solid. read more
