This particular store however, clean- bright- smells good and pro staff that are smart, fast and friendly. Makes the shopping experience a 10! I'm thrilled I can find everything I need in one place. I'm a loyal customer now. Have 4 picky diva cats, one happy red heeler pup- they sell all quality food for tight budgets all the way to top shelf needs. I'm not sure if they have prescription diet though, maybe call before. Prices are competitive if not sometimes a tad bit more but they offer a punch card. Honestly, even if they didn't offer that, I'd gladly pay the small difference to shop where you feel they care about your experience and time. Thank you MPM for giving me a place to go and get away from ..... :) Side note: The location is a bit of a puzzle at first for entry and depart. On a fast street with blind corner, once you figure it out though, it's not an issue.

In a market in which…read morethere used to be several small, locally-owned fish stores, this is now one of only two left and I do not visit the others anymore. Maybe at some point I will review them to say why, but for now, let's focus on why I like this place. Pros: ===================== -This is a fish store, not a pet store. You won't find dog poop bags as one reviewer was searching for, nor will you find lizards, or kittens... you get the point. You will get an owner that knows something about fish. -Because he knows about fish, you can trust his advice and input. -If you want a particular plant, or fish, he can probably get it for you. And, unlike one of his competitors, he actually follows through. -His prices are very, very fair for his stock. The importance of this in a market increasingly dominated by big box pet store cannot be overstated. -I have never gotten a fish disease from his store. I cannot say the same for either big box chain. Cons: ====================== -This is a small owner/operator business. He has faced a lot of challenges since COVID and his stock is not what it once was. But this could change if hobbyists like me stick with the fish store in our community. -There is one person, the owner, doing almost everything on the at least 50 tanks he has running. Yes, I do see an occasional dead fish, but I can say the same of pretty much every fish store I have been in. And they all had multiple employees. In the final analysis this is my go to fish store. If you are a FISH person, rather than a show tank person - or just a casual pet person, it should be yours too.

We scheduled today's appointment in February, but apparently they didn't put him on the books...tired of this runaround from the groomers. I hate posting these type of reviews, but, when they cost me money in gas to get here just to screw me, I get upset... I'm not sure why they treat customers like this, but, we just made an appointment with Petsmart and they are happy too see him. Guess this place lost a customer....

Thank goodness I'm not in a wheelchair, but for those that are, be aware of that. When we got in the store, we noticed it is very disorganized and was cluttered. It also didn't have a very pleasant odor. We went in specifically looking for clothes and bows for my dog, but sadly they had a very small section and everything was disorganized, no bows either(which was fine). I only ended up getting a nylabone and flea meds for my cat. When we got up to the register line, there was only one cashier for a line of about 10 people, he didn't call for an extra clerk. Maybe he couldn't, but the store had several other employees doing random stuff, or just walking around. The cashier was very nice though and didn't seem stressed or overwhelmed. The only reason I gave the store 2 stars is because of the cashier and his professional composure. He greeted us when we got to the register and said have a nice day upon leaving the store. Unfortunately I do not recommend this store as it's very disorganized, cluttered and the lack of another clerk to help with the long line.

BEST DOG GROOMING - staff, price, convenience…read more most affordable dog grooming in Eugene, esp for curly haired doggos. only a two month waiting time (new to this? most places are six months with 2-3x the cost) i have a dog who is sweeter than sugar in southern sweet tea and she has been traumatized by other grooming experiences. when having to change groomer, found wilco as last resort bc curls were too problematic for local dog suds place in winter. never a hassle to drop her off. always assured she is in good hands. groomer asks questions and listens for responses, checks for understanding. my lil cutie has never looked better. it's $100 a full service groom for her. the second less we've paid is $230 for her size and hair type. bc my gal is soo out of this world incomparable to other groomers (even good ones!) - it's wirth it to tip at least 50% bc it's still cheaper than if i were to go any where else, and the trust i have in the groomer and staff would be worth $300 a cut (ouch!) regardless. never had a groomer who was able to accommodate preferences in cut. after one year and six sessions at wilco, i've never been dissatisfied with cut and service. flatly put- she's never looked better and been ready to get home within 3 hours each time. drive is out of the way but 100 worth it.

Hometown Pets - I was actively trying to breed this docile female Goliath before they let her die.

THEIR ONLY POSITIVES: 1 extra star just for Jordanna. We will admit their animal care products and prices are decent, and there's a selection. Jordanna is an honest employee and well learned. But I do not recommend this place for anything after the way they let their own animals and other animals die. They had a store parrot who they let die. That shoulda been a sign to us. WHAT HAPPENED: My son and I boarded our tarantulas with hometown pets while we are moving. It was 2 weeks. He paid $40 a week every week. He gave explicit instructions that 3 of them are Goliath tarantulas who need water every single day. "She needs her plastic water dish filled every day or she will die in 48 hours." Their hired employees said they absolutely knew about Goliath tarantulas. I believe they do. But the owner, Jim, he *NEPOTISM HIRES HIS OWN FAMILY TO DO WORK WITHOUT RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE OR DILIGENCE*!!! And more than once I've encountered that the wife & son don't learn about the animals and literally 'do not read.' Can't answer my questions. My son noticed they did not observe the instructions on the cage or the hazard warnings made visible for the employees safety if they simply WERE uninformed. I can see them in the video. They are not wearing gloves or being cautious. "No bare hands. Danger hairs." Is written all over the cage. Jordanna spoke to my son and knew exactly what he was talking about. She knew about Goliaths and said she would make sure everyone else knew. But when the wife spoke to my son I couldn't tell what she was asking, but she seemed totally oblivious. And when he came to pay the second week he found her dead because they didn't water the goliath tarantula for 4 days. We had to retrieve the tarantulas from hometown pets and try keeping them safe in a van instead. THEIR HISTORY AND OPINION OF GENERAL BEHAVIOR: This place literally bought up every non-corporate pet store in Eugene/Springfield. They shut down and sold off anyone they didn't convert into a chain store. They have complete monopoly on pet stores that aren't either PetCo or Petsmart. There used to be at least 3 different stores in town between Pet Time, Zany Zoo, and Bobcat Pets. Now there's only hometown pets. And they're halfways incompetent and the owner is manipulative. He has a hell of a poker face and puts on a businessman act like a pro. But zero sympathy was given when our tarantula was killed. My son said they tried to humiliate him for "screaming and crying in the back room." The owner Jim is basically Buck Strickland from "King of the Hill." Jordanna is Hank Hill who actually runs the place and makes things look confident & professional. You can trust what Jordanna and Jayden say. You can trust the store products. Their prices are good. Their terrariums are their best product. bread and butter. But never trust them with the safety of something you love. You'll set yourself up for absolute heart-break. My son is not doing ok. I'm still upset too. Or maybe just go to Walmart or Petsmart since there's a stupid monopoly on privately owned pet stores.

The food I get you can't get at the commercial stores, you have to get at special stores like J Co. The first time I came in, I was really impressed with the knowledge of the staff, and the customer service that was given not just to me, but to the other customer's that were in front of me. I observed the store owner carry out a bag of dog food for an elderly man that day and that melted my heart. They didn't have the size bag of food I needed, so he ordered it for me. Unfortunately shortly after that I ended up taking my Son's dog in, and had to switch brands because it was a little spendy paying for 2 small dogs, and 1 large dog. It is the same company of food, just the cheaper version. Thankfully they carry it here as well. When I did purchase my bag of Orijen dog food the owner carried that bag out for me... no questions asked. That is just the kind of guy he is. I am now buying Acana, which is the Sister to Orijen. They have the program where you buy 11 bags get the 12'th one free. Or 10 get the 11'th? Something around there. I can't quite remember. I have been still buying my food at the other place because I am waiting to get my free bag. I think I have one more purchase until I can be a more loyal customer here. I think customer service, and knowledge of the product is really important especially when dealing with pets. They have that going on here. Nothing but the best here. My Pomeranians are one in a half, and one and they rarely get treats, the only treats I have ever bought for them have been the Orijen freeze dried treats their whole lives up until Thanksgiving time when I saw the Bocce treats here. They looked really healthy, and limited ingredients. My girls love them, and they have not had upset tummy's or have not had any itchy issues while eating them. I am one picky Pommy Mommy when it comes to what they eat, and now I also watch what my Son's English Cream retriever eats. She has not had any issues eating these treats either. They are all eating the Acana, after eating Orijen puppy, and love it. Their coats are beautiful, and soft. As soon as my Son takes his baby back, I will switch back to Orijen for my Pommy baby's though since they won't eat me out of house, and home. :-) Anyhow, best place for food, treats, toys, and shampoo. I think they even have a washing station. Go check them out!

They have better quality pet food than you can get at the big box stores, though they don't carry the grain-in kibble brand I've been feeding for the past few years.
