If you are looking for a SAFE, effective and challenging environment for you or your children this is by far the PREMIER ski school of PNW. The best thing about Summit at Snoqualmie is its proximity to the Seattle Metro area. It's about 45…read moreminutes from the Eastside and about an hour and change from Seattle. That easy access allows for skiing after work or doing something else on a weekend afternoon after skiing in the morning. Other than the Alpental part of Summit at Snoqualmie, the ski area is pretty big, but not particularly exciting. It's pretty much a number of smaller ski areas along a ridge that got merged together. Vertical drop for Summit West, Summit Central and Summit East (Hyak) maxes out at about 1000 feet so none of the runs are particularly long. With base areas at a relatively low elevation, the quality of snow at all three of these areas is highly tied to changing weather conditions. What ends up being rain at the base elevation for Summit at Snoqualmie can be snow at Crystal Mountain's higher base elevation. Also, being at a lower elevation, conditions at Snoqualmie can also be subject to melt-refreeze cycles. Despite all of this, a season pass at Snoqualmie is a great deal. Ease of access allows for more days on the slopes.

Nice to have more runs for the green level so that I can totally warm up, but I like the blue runs for what they are. Appreciate that there is one freestyle run here, but would not mind if there was more. Staff is helpful and actually addresses concerns, but tend to be caught up in conversation with each other, so u feel a bit pushed to the side. Have to be able to speak up for yourself early on so that you are not just on standby. Parking is fine...just watch for the slush. The cleaners do their best to clear out the snow on the road so u do not have to pull out and use your snow chains.

In full transparency, I have been teaching for Mohan for 8 years. When my kids were young, I had…read morethem at Mohan and I taught for a couple years. I had to stop but promised myself I would eventually teach again. That was my starting journey with Mohan. Yeas later when my kids were in Middle and High school, the school participated in the Friday night Mohan bus program. I chaperoned the ski bus for 8 years and as soon as my kids were out of HS, I started teaching. What was the draw to Mohan? They really care. Now some of the issues identified here were out of their control, some were in their control and have been addressed. We strive to ensure our students, young and old, have a great experience with Mohan. You have to understand how hard it is to staff 120+ instructors for a 1 month training and 2 month instruction season. Last year I could not teach because of a pinched nerve in my back. It was like not being able to see my closest friends, really family, for a year. Today was the first clinic for instructors for the 24-25 season and it was like coming home. So while we have issues, like other business, we strive for an exceptional experience for our Mohan family and our students. Every year we have students from other ski schools join the Mohan family. Some even become assistants and then instructors. We have multigenerational families that have been with Mohan as instructors and students. We have a lodge on the hill, Pot luck Saturday dinners, HS age instructors can spend Saturday night at the lodge. Each young instructor has a chore in the morning, so we are instilling responsibility and accountability. Come join our family as a student or instructor, I promise you it's a life changing experience you'll never forget.

I walked in mumbling something like "uhh I ride kinda switch and sometimes hit side hits but also like buttering around," and within five minutes she had narrowed my choices from "all of them" to "these exact three that I won't hate by February." Her product knowledge is scarily good like if bindings had a trivia night, Sophie would win a free lifetime supply and then give half away because she's just that nice. I walked out with premium bindings for less than the "discount" price I was about to pay online (before shipping, tax, and the inevitable regret). 10/10, five stars, two thumbs up, would let Sophie pick my bindings again in a heartbeat.
