This shop is very poorly managed, and it is dangerous to use the sport gear worked on by this shop: I tried to get my ski bindings remounted and moved back at this shop for two months. They totally missed the originally promised date of getting it done in two weeks. When they finally said it's done. I came to the shop, examined the skis and questioned if any work was done since there is no signs of binding remounted on the skis. The person manning the front desk (refused to give a name when asked) said confidently the work is done and made up reasons for why I can't see it. I fortunately had a picture from last winter showing exactly the positions of the binding. (Attached as Old). When compared with the pic taken at the shop (attached as New), it clearly showed no work was done to move it back. No apologies was provided by the front desk young man. I asked the man to write down a note for the technician since so much miscommunications have happened. He initially refused. When I asked to speak with the manager. He also refused. When I asked "Erik", another staff to help, this man told him to stop as well. Skiing is a high risk sport, and ski bindings are one of the most important part in keeping the gear safe to users. Their technician should get their certification/license canceled and this shop should be barred from working on technical sports gear in order to prevent blatant mistakes like this to happen again. Based on the reaction of the staff and lack of admission of their fault, I don't see any hope they can or want to correct their actions and keep their customers safe. inventory is always changing they have a lot in a small space. when your kids are still growing used is always the way to go. comparable to buying off ebay but with the abiltity to try stuff on. My only gripe is selling stuff via consignment. They take a huge percentage, better off selling online unless they reduce their fees. read more

Very disappoing experience. Staff minimally interactive with me, even when I asked questions. Staff discussing trips to Florida and Armidillos while ignoring customers. Left with my coat over my arm and staff chased me outside and accused me of stealing my own jacket that was over my arm! I was horrified. Perhaps if they were paying attention to their customers they would have noticed my coat was on my arm the entire time I was in the store as well as when I entered. I called to speak to manager after this experience and same employee proceeded to argue with me regarding my experience in the store. Unacceptable! Will never shop here again. read more

We rented snowshoes for our family (two adults and three children) and the owners allowed us to make changes to our reservations, gave us several extra days as it was over Christmas and even forgave us for forgetting to return them on time. Not saying this would be the case for everyone, but they are extremely friendly and a great local business we love to support. read more

A great store to buy but never again will I take my nice items to consign. I let them price the items for sale and they sold very fast for such a low price, that was a mistake. I came to get my check and was told it would be a few weeks even though the items were sold 3 weeks ago. If you bring your items pretty much treat it as a donation because I get the feeling that's what there hoping. Had I sold my ski boots jacket and snowboarding boots on Craig's list or offer up I would have gotten 3 times this money and been paid on the spot. I really like Superior Seconds. They have a good selection of quality second hand sporting goods and it is well organized. They also have a bike/ski shop in the back that does repairs. This year I bought ski boots and poles for my kids there and was happy with my purchase. I did feel the prices were a bit high but all in all felt I got a decent deal and the boots and poles have worked out well. I will definitely go back when I am in the market for sports equipment again. The only negatives I can come up with are that they do not allow returns. I do business with other consignment shops in the area and they allow returns within three days which I think is fair. In buying equipment for kids sometimes you just really need to get it home and try it on or have a little longer to try it on. They also allow the consignor to set the price vs. the store owner, I think this is where the high prices are coming from....everyone thinks their stuff is worth way more than it actually is....the business owner often has a better feel how things should be priced and what used stuff should sell for. So that would be my advice: Returns within 3 days for exchange and the store should set the sale price. All in all it's a great shop and I will be back! read more

Reasonable prices, good wide variety of selection, and friendly staff. They have lots of bikes, hockey and skating gear, boxing and wrestling, apparels, all sorts of balls, golf clubs... Its a consignment store so I think prices probably drips the longer they sit in the store, but that's my guess. read more

For locating second hand sports goods and kids bikes I gave it 4 stars. After being on the consignment side of things I gave it 1 star. Dropped my goods off and consented to getting paid 60% of what they sold for, agreed to donate them to local charity if not sold thereafter and I didn't collect. I went to pick up any unsold items and received a printout of items sold: they generously gave me credit for other people's items, which I pointed out, then insisted an item sold after it had expired so I don't get credit for it. While not sure that's ethically ok I can't dispute it due the contract (even though there's no mention of them being allowed to sell it with no payment to me after it expires). BUT this particular item I went to collect about a week after dropping it off and it had already sold, so simply wasn't registered until after the expiry! I told them I knew it had sold a week after drop off, they said they could mention it to the bookkeeper but doubted anything could be done..What. The. Heck. So I get credit for other people's sold items but not my own. Puts to doubt all of my "unsold/unavailable items". Other items were not complete when I collected them but weren't listed as sold (had been sold outside of the set but not credited to me). When I pointed this out he did offer to credit me with the sale. I then asked for cash out rather than store credit: that process is tedious and clearly discouraged. I have to wait til end of month bookkeeping to generate a check in the mail. If you want to purchase from there and find a bargain, bonus for you. But I can't recommend selling gear through here ever due to the inability to accurately track sales and their practice of selling your "donated" items with no credit. read more

In January this year I scored a Yepp kids bicycle seat for my daughter so that we could go on bike rides together. The person that helped me with it (who I discovered yesterday is Gio, the owner of the shop) got online and showed me the adapter I needed to purchase to make it work on my bike. Done! The weather started getting nicer a few weeks ago and my husband and I decided to put the seat on my bike. Unfortunately the adapter I was told to buy for it was the wrong one (and not returnable --I was out 45 bucks). Turns out the seat doesn't work on my bike either. Out another 75 bucks. Called the shop to see if anything could be done. I understand consignment and know that this shop has a no return policy, but being out 120 bucks, I figured it was worth a call. Spoke to Gio on the phone. He was very friendly and cordial and told me to bring it in and we could swap it out for a different seat that might work on my bike and that they had a good selection at the time. Life happens, my daughter got sick and I wasn't able to come in until a week later. Gio wasn't in, but a very friendly sales associate named Alex helped me out. I wasn't interested in the few, very used seats they had available. However, there was a different item that he thought I could maybe swap it for (where I would end up spending more money there because it was a higher ticket item), but I would need to talk to Gio. Came in a second time, Gio was not in, but another friendly sales associate was and she agreed to hang on to my seat for me. I called that afternoon and spoke to Alex, who told me he would discuss the resolution we came up with with Gio and have him call me on Monday. This is where my experience with this shop goes completely downhill. No call on Monday. Tuesday I decide to go to the shop. Finally, Gio was there. His attitude and his tune had COMPLETELY changed since our initial phone conversation. In so many words, he accused me of being an idiot for ordering the wrong adapter. We went back and forth on this even though he kept saying he refused to argue about it. During this mess he took every opportunity to help any customer he could to delay things, which was very unprofessional in itself. I asked him about trading it for the hitch mount bike rack that Alex and I talked about and he completely skirted the request. The only option he gave me was to reconsign it. Why would I want to continue to do any further business with a shop owner who goes back on his word? I asked him why he changed his tune since our phone conversation and again, he accused me of ordering the wrong adapter, the one HE told me to order. I asked for my seat back and left, frustrated and angry at how I had been treated. A lot of time and energy wasted. This was my first purchase at this shop and I can guarantee I will never set foot in it again. If I could give this shop zero stars, I would. If I could give Alex 5 stars, I definitely would. It really saddens me to write a negative review on a local business, but I question Gio and his business practices when it comes to issues with purchases made. read more

I am always looking for a deal. My parents had an antique shop and I spent hours as a kid scouring flea markets, antique shops and estate sales. So consignment shops definitely do it for me. Anyway, I go by here periodically and find some real gems--vintage fly fishing gear, Filson, Patagonia, and Arc Tery'x gear in good condition and at a fraction of their original cost. Plus I like the staff. They seem friendly and genuinely interested in sporting gear and being helpful. I guess that's what you get when its a small business rather than a big box where the cash goes someplace out of state. I'll keep coming by every few weeks. But please get more used fly fishing gear, I think I have bought everything so far! read more

Good selection of stuff and somewhat reasonable pricing. I was not happy with the consignment process - was pretty much made to feel like an inconvenience to the owners and staff. I think there has been a change of ownership, or at least of in-store staff. My experience with past owners was pleasant and I was treated fairly and respectfully on both sides of the consignment transaction. The last few times I have been to the store, the new staff in have made for the opposite experience - unfortunate. This is such a great concept, otherwise. read more

I love this place. There are great finds here--you should stop in before going to REI for something new. Most of their equipment is new or barely used. The owner is incredibly friendly. I was looking to make a big purchase, and noticed that one of the accessories was not included. She has been working with me to contact the owner to see if we can renegotiate the price. I came out from North Seattle because they had a craigslist ad for a pair of bindings I've been eyeing for a while now but couldn't bring myself to shell out the $350 for brand new ones. These were used, but in great shape, for $120. They even honored the price on craigslist, which was $40 less than the price tag in the store. I also ended up with screaming deal on a new to me pair of ski boots. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and didn't try to push the sale, which made me more excited to buy from them. Like someone said below, reasonable prices and good, wide variety of gear. Definitely worth the drive out and will recommend the store and staff to everyone I know. read more

A very good example of a very bad customer service! Can you give less than one star? So I went in to browse and check out a new shop. I live in the area and often biked so I was feeling adventurous. No one greeted me. I have to say that it one of my pet peeves. But most people expect to be greeted, right They didn't engage me so I found a worker that looked to be in charge. After I approached her, a woman named Erin, she seemed annoyed to deal with me even though it's her job. She definitely worked there. Turned off by the service I browsed to gauge the rest of the store. Needless to say I did not buy anything. And in the future will buy my sporting goods anyplace else. Am a big fan of small business and supporting local but not this one. Negative experience = Bad review. PS Smells like sweaty feet. read more

In the past year I've bought a bicycle and a ski jacket from them. I've had a number of items, including a backpack and a camp stove, on consignment and sold by the store. What's most fascinating is the extremely high quality and variety of equipment and gear in stock. Many of these items are in like-new condition. It's possible to stop in the store every week and see lots of new and different gear on every visit. The stock on display is appropriate for the current season with skis, boards and winter clothing in the Fall and Winter and things like bikes and water skis in the Summer They are knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. This is like shopping at a neighborhood store as I remember it from many years ago. I was greeted when I entered and they were happy to assist me. read more

This store is favorite for sure! I have referred lots of friends. Great prices, friendly staff and seasonal inventory, so I can get what I need when I need it. My favorite part is the SKI SWAP in October, where I can sell my kids old ski boots and buy some used new ones each year. (Their feet won't stop growing. Go figure ) They start taking ski stuff in in August, catalog it all and start selling at the Swap for the Winter Season, so the staff say it's the best shot at the widest selection. The selection is pretty good, the stuff is definitely used, but not junky. Buying used for us is cheaper than renting as we can upcycle the each season. Good place for families on a budget. read more

More of a tip, but good overall store only complaint is that the store gets in and sells a lot of things fast so I have to visit frequently to get an idea of what they have to sell. Iv personally made some good discoveries here and iv definitely saved a lot of money buying here read more
