Epic education from Michael at Motion. Was our first experience buying a custom board and the walk-through and patient guidance was amazing. Location was great too, just behind U Village with ample parking. Michael will be our go-to as we upgrade and get new boards.

Staff were super helpful and nice and put together my board for me. Really cute shop, not the most options in terms of board design but I happened to like what they had. Recommend!

    Perfect epoxy fix... Thanks Guys!!!

A little of a side note... I called these guys about a repair on my skim board, which is off best from the awesome sk8boards and snow boards I saw in their store. My nephew took my skim board to Newport Beach in So Cal. He was riding a bike to the beach while trying to carry my skim board. He dropped it and nose dived it into the street putting a nice gash in the reisin/ fiberglass coating. He carried onto the beach and still had a great time on the board. I brought it in to Motion Boardshop and they did a kick ass job getting it sealed back up. There is still a grip of sand still stuck inside (which makes it sound like a rain stick) but its ready to hit Chambers Creek... Thanks guys! Great work! Much appreciated....

This place was great, the two guys that helped fit my daughter were amazing. We talked through all the options that would fit her riding style and find her a fun Halloween fright board They have a great size selection of sizes and patterns. Thanks again! She had a great first time out on her way home

I love this shop!!! I have popped in before curious about what the motion was about. I rented a board for a week. Which was awesome but also made me realize that I needed to evolve from my first board from zumies... ahem.. Still on my to do list. This weekend my mission was to get my son fitted with a real board for his 14th birthday. He had worked so hard to buy a board and got swindled by a Walmart board... this wasn't going to work. I will not have my son go over a speed bump and bust his teeth over the board not holding up. The quality was risky to say the least. So Cj walked us through picking out the perfect deck and wheels. To the trucks and bearings. Then he carved out a bamboo style as he placed the deck tape. He was very attentive and thorough making sure it was going to be a great fit. He even helped figure out the perfect fit for a helmet. I will be back for my board next! Oh and the wrap design for the bottom of the deck is going through here too. It's still in the works! Thanks again Cj for helping us out! I will be back to ask questions about kite boards if you guys still do that?! I didn't see any of that stuff. =^..^=

I live in an area without a skate shop that really supports long boarding so I rely on Motion Board Shops YouTube content for current equipment reviews.

Michael, Corey, and the rest of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about all things skiing related including backcountry. These are not seasonal workers suggesting random boots or skis, but experienced skiers that take the time to understand how and what you ski before making recommendations. They've nicely corrected my misunderstandings compared to other ski shops that shrug or make up a bad answer. I've gotten multiple tune ups and skis mounted here with great results. If they don't have desired skis or bindings in stock, they can often check with the factory directly and order on your behalf if you chat with them. My wife bought boots here and they were meticulous in the initial boot fitting and follow up checks, and recommended a much more appropriate ski than other local shops because they took the time to understand her skiing. Likewise I've gotten my kids' seasonal rentals here every year. They refresh their rental fleet often and have carbon poles which is a refreshing surprise compared to the typical older and beat up gear found elsewhere. I've been coming here for my family's various skiing needs and couldn't be happier, and would highly recommend them.

The selection is huge, but it's really the people that keep me coming back. The shop team is awesome and they actually listen. If something isn't feeling right with your gear, they're super open to feedback and want to make it right. Matt, the shop manager, is the man. He's incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. It makes a huge difference going into a season knowing your gear was handled by people who care. I also have to give a massive shoutout to Caesar, who helped me with a boot fit recently. I can't say enough good things about him. He sat there and listened to every single complaint I had about my old boots and didn't stop until we found the perfect pair. We tried on at least four different sets, and he was so patient through the whole process. What I appreciated most was how honest he was about the tradeoffs between different fits. He explained exactly what I should be looking for and how to adjust them on the fly. He moved me from a "beginner" comfort fit into a performance boot that feels worlds better on the snow. I really hope he's still there when I'm ready for my next pair, but honestly, with how good he is, he'll probably be running the company by then. Whether you're just starting out or you've been skiing for years, go to Evo. They have the perfect mix of being approachable but also knowing exactly what they're talking about.
