Michael, Corey, and the rest of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about all things skiing related including backcountry. These are not seasonal workers suggesting random boots or skis, but experienced skiers that take the time to understand how and what you ski before making recommendations. They've nicely corrected my misunderstandings compared to other ski shops that shrug or make up a bad answer. I've gotten multiple tune ups and skis mounted here with great results. If they don't have desired skis or bindings in stock, they can often check with the factory directly and order on your behalf if you chat with them. My wife bought boots here and they were meticulous in the initial boot fitting and follow up checks, and recommended a much more appropriate ski than other local shops because they took the time to understand her skiing. Likewise I've gotten my kids' seasonal rentals here every year. They refresh their rental fleet often and have carbon poles which is a refreshing surprise compared to the typical older and beat up gear found elsewhere. I've been coming here for my family's various skiing needs and couldn't be happier, and would highly recommend them.

We stopped by recently and it's still cool to see such a big location. It has multiple levels and filled to the brim with gear for hiking, running, cycling, and camping. Outside of the store, there's a little trail they've set up for you to test out bikes; not sure if they let you do that with hiking boots, too. Since it's Seattle, you can find more than a few items that feature BigFoot on them. Service is always terrific and I like the fact that they have such a generous return policy in place if you're not satisfied with your purchase (for members on eligible items. it's within 1 year of purchase, even if gently used).

He made sure the suspension was calibrated for me down to the pound, wheeled the bike to the shop so that the smart features were working properly (it required expertise from the technicians), and even crawled into the cab of my truck to get it to fit, then had me lift the tailgate, such that he had to contort his body to crawl through the tiny window to get back out (he insisted)! You can't find service at a company where an employee will sacrifice their body to guarantee gear gets home safely, except at evo, apparently.

Sean, the employee helping me, was extremely patient and helpful, answering all my questions (and there were many!) and even helping me compare the small differences between models. Everyone working there is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely friendly, which made a huge difference. Charlie especially went above and beyond to make sure I had the perfect setup. Really disappointing experience with Backcountry…read more I bought an Anon Logan WaveCel helmet during their Semi-Annual Sale. The page heavily highlights "60% off" and the sale price, while the fact that the item is Final Sale is shown only in a small gray line underneath the size selection. I completely missed it when I purchased the helmet. When I later tried to return it because the fit did not work for me, I did not realized it was final sale at all. After the explanation from the female employee, I was thinking if I can still get an exchange or anything if that is possible, it also didn't work as well and all of the sudden the employee started to ask me "You don't know what final sale means?" Of course I know what "final sale" means. The issue is that the restriction was very easy to miss on the product page, and the employee's response came across as unnecessarily rude and condescending. I understand that Backcountry has a final-sale policy, but important return restrictions should be displayed much more prominently, especially on expensive gear where fit matters. The customer-service experience made the whole situation even more frustrating. I'll be much more likely to shop at REI or Evo in the future. I can guarantee you everything that happened is true and this the worst customer experience I have ever had.
