I drove all the way from Vancouver, WA after speaking to Jacob on the phone. Upon arriving, he was extremely helpful and patient. I felt bad as I had tried on so many pairs of skates to find the right fit, but he didn't mind and actually recommend other ones for me to try on as well. I ended up purchasing a pair of skates and have been super happy. It was worth the trip up to ensure I had a good fit, and their customer service was top notch. Can't say enough about the selection and staff at the store. I was wanting to purchase a particular genre of skate, but after trying on several different styles, we came to the conclusion there were skates that were better for my abilities. They are extremely knowledgeable about styles and brands and the great thing is if I get back up to speed and rolling fast, I can always go back in and change up my trucks and wheels. This shop is a gem for someone who is serious about skating inline. The shop has only good quality gear. No junk. Brian is thoroughly knowledgeable about his products and is an active aggressive skater, as well as a patient good listener. He will make every attempt to get you into equipment that is right for you from the array of gear he has. There is no better shop around for this. The shop is geared toward aggressive and recreational. If you're experienced and bent towards slalom and/or dance, and you know what you want, it might be that he doesn't have it. Specifically iGor boots, rockered 231 frames, (few) 72mm wheel sizes, g-form pads, rustproofs or bones swiss bearings. But he can probably get you something else. read more

Over the course of more than 4 hours spread across 2 days, Jacob, The employee who helped us out, tirelessly answered our questions and climbed up and down the ladder and switched out configurations and checked our fit, asked us the right questions to think about, and ensured that my wife and I got exactly the perfect skate and setup. Absolutely worth the drive if you are planning to get inline skates and you don't have a good inline shop in your city, especially if you are new to inline skating and want to get something halfway decent. read more

I got my skates here and I was very happy with the way the person at the front helped me. He answered all my questions, was in no rush to sell me the most expensive stuff or to get rid of me (and there were people waiting outside to enter the store) and offered me the coolest thing: wheels that light up!! Why I don't give 5 stars: * they only had a big size for wrist guards (I was stupid and rode without them and broke my wrist) * they didn't have brakes * manager never replied to my email asking for info about when I could return to buy that stuff. You'd wonder they want your money. I'm very happy with my skates and glad that I supported a local business. This is the kind of place that deserves all the positivity. Clearly I'm not the only one who's had a 5 star experience. I'm a 300lb guy that took a single hard fall that would have made the skates I bought unreturnable anywhere else. After a week I realized I bought the wrong boot. These lovely people took it back for 80% store credit, more than I could have sold it for anywhere else. That, and your next closes bet to try on a pair of decent skates is Colorado. This Momma took her teenage son in to get fitted for skates and of course I decided it was time to return to skating myself. The customer service was amazing. We tried on at least three pairs of skates each only after we received a lesson on all the options - four wheels, three wheels, big wheels...wow inline skates sure have changed over the past 20+ years! My son ultimately selected white "Them" skates with LED wheels. He does his best NOT to smile for pictures but he could not contain himself. I really do appreciate the service I got from Shop Task, although I have to shop digitally because I live in Oregon, a state with ZERO inline skate shops (to my knowledge). I was tired of buying the wrong skates for myself (those being Powerslide Swells and Rollerblade Endurance) and am limited in what is available, as I am a woman with size 7.5 feet, and that's pretty small in men's size, which is what you have to buy if you want 125 mm wheels. Skate Shop is accessible for consultations, and only carry quality skates. Long story short, I got perfect skates for my needs: FR FR 325 and knew they'd fit after talking to whomever from Shop Task, who listened to me, really listened, and helped me out. Wish there was a Shop Task store in Portland or Eugene! read more

Bought a new pair of rollerblades maxxum 84 from Brian. He was super patient. It took me 2 days to make a decision and lots of trying on and he handled it like a champ. Super patient, really knowledgeable, and offered a lot of tips to someone who hasn't skated in a decade. I love my new skates and use them several times a week. I was originally going to come here and try some skates on and see what I liked and then order them online. What changed my mind? The service. Hands down. Completely knowledgeable about not only their product lines, but also anything else I wanted to know about inline skating or skates, including products they don't stock. I needed new inline hockey wheels and knew that shis shop was in town. Grabbed the kids and headed over to replace the wheels. This place is great! II ran into the owner and Brian in the shop and let them know what I was looking for and they immediately stated that while they didn't have hockey wheels that there were a number that would work and set about explaining the wheel selection. Honesty and lack of pressure, great traits in retail. I settled on a set and Brian set them up quickly. The shop is very welcoming and passionate about skating and customer service. They have a nice space that is big enough to test skates and a great selection of aggressive and fitness skates. While in the shop they also gave some stickers to the kids and a DVD of the shop skaters to my son. I will be back to do business with this store. One note: (t is a bit off the beaten path of 50th and Roosevelt, a bit south and behind Scarecrow video and as such a little difficult to find, if you don't now the area. Real skate shop by real skaters, Brian is very knowledgable about skates, events and current trends in rollerblading. He helped me out finding the right size and type of skate for my style of blading (aggressive inline) the shop also seems to match and compare different prices from different stores. Pants were on sale for 40 bucks instead of 80 from different stores so I also got the same one for the same price! I've been waiting for a real blading shop since skatebarn west closed down several years back, and it feels great to be able to just walk in the shop welcomed if there were anything that I needed whether it's from parts, advices or just to hangout!
