Trying to fix it mid run, so sucks..!!
Michael P.

Dont rent snowboards from these guys..!! Rented 2 boards and boots for me and my son.. Store clerk was very sketchy about explaining the 2 day rental when it was due and what time they needed to be in by.. Got up on the mountain and ankle bindings were crap, kept slipping and popping out as soon as it got really cold out, ended the trip early to return them.. Clerk could careless about the danger or safety issues.. Tried get a refund for my 2nd day and was told that it was per-use and since I used them to night ski and day ski I had gotten 2 days use out of them.. Even though I returned them a full day early by noon as their policy stated.. Really sucked and made the experience very negative.. Moral or the story, dont go to play it again sport.. ever..! :(

Evo Seattle is my home store, and honestly, I'm just so grateful they're here. I've bought two sets…read moreof skis, two pairs of boots, and way too much outerwear and base layers here over the years, so I've spent a lot of time in the shop. The selection is huge, but it's really the people that keep me coming back. The shop team is awesome and they actually listen. If something isn't feeling right with your gear, they're super open to feedback and want to make it right. Matt, the shop manager, is the man. He's incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. It makes a huge difference going into a season knowing your gear was handled by people who care. I also have to give a massive shoutout to Caesar, who helped me with a boot fit recently. I can't say enough good things about him. He sat there and listened to every single complaint I had about my old boots and didn't stop until we found the perfect pair. We tried on at least four different sets, and he was so patient through the whole process. What I appreciated most was how honest he was about the tradeoffs between different fits. He explained exactly what I should be looking for and how to adjust them on the fly. He moved me from a "beginner" comfort fit into a performance boot that feels worlds better on the snow. I really hope he's still there when I'm ready for my next pair, but honestly, with how good he is, he'll probably be running the company by then. Whether you're just starting out or you've been skiing for years, go to Evo. They have the perfect mix of being approachable but also knowing exactly what they're talking about.

Sure they have a awesome selection of ski related things, and we did just get new boots here, and rentals for the kiddo, and all that on top of the value, prices were great and while not the cheapest, if you actually go take your gear up even just a few times, it's honestly one of the best offers in the area. So, you need worry, the experts are here.

Staff were very cheerful and upbeat. It is a bit crowded, and things crowded together yet they flow through the aisles and people with bright, connecting smiles. Genuine. Little did I know, I'd also leave with the genius idea of consigning my Patagonia jacket! Who knew decluttering could feel this satisfying? The team here is incredibly friendly and helpful. The store itself? Absolutely delightful--a treasure trove for outdoor enthusiasts, minimalists, and anyone who appreciates a well-curated space. Plus, the consignment system is straightforward--they take a margin, but it's totally worth it for the experience and ease. Highly recommend popping in, whether you're looking to buy, sell, or just bask in the joy of sustainable shopping. Wonderland Gear Exchange has won a top spot on my list of favorite discoveries. Pro tip: make a reservation if you're going to send stuff for consignment

They lean in on community and outdoors by offering classes for people to come and learn or to rent gear. It also has taps for beer! If I lived in the area, this would be my go to spot. The place has ample seating for people come and work. The staff was welcoming. What's not to love!

Gearhouse is amazing…read more I stumbled onto the site while looking for gear rental. My friend was flying up from the Bay Area for a break, and we were looking to go on an overnight camping trip. He'd never backpacked before, and while I'd been a few times, I'd always gone with friends who had the gear and knew what they were doing. After hours of research on spring hikes, we chose a hard first hike, the Lakeshore Trail in Chelan. It trip was 17 miles with 3500ft elevation gain, which we we had to do as an overnight trip because of other commitments. When renting gear you have a few options. There are a number of online companies that will drop gear off at your house, but they never responded to my emails. I figure they don't really exist and their websites are phantoms. The real default in Seattle is REI. REI provides a great service, but the experience at Gearhouse is way better. REI only offers a la carte options, you have to cobble together a gear list and pick the right items. At Gearhouse, you don't have that labor. You have a conversation about the hike you are doing and some preferences about the items you want, and they pick out a full list for you. The gear they carry is better, on our trail we met a backpacker that regularly does 200+ mile trips, and she had the same ultralight gear we rented. For items they don't carry they'll provide recommendations for you to buy. It's a huge help. REI also requires you to clearly specify dates for pickup and drop-off and charges per day. Gearhouse has a six-day window for members. You can pick up gear a bit early when it's easy for you without worrying about a micro-cost for one extra day. And if you get back late or want to take an extra day on the hike, you don't have to worry about missing a drop-off. Also, each tent and sleeping combo is a bit different, so we literally set up the tent in the Gearhouse space before we left. When we got to our campground we had intense wind, and without that prep it would have been frustrating to get everything together on the spot. That's not something you get with most rental companies. Finally, remember the hours I spent planning a hike. Well, if I'd signed up to Gearhouse earlier, I would have saved that time. They're experts and they will sit and listen to what you want and help pick out the perfect hike. I know this review is effusive, but I'm being genuine. This is a great service run by real experts who care about their members, the outdoors, and making sure folks have a great experience.
