So far my experience with Rad has been rad! I popped up there from Tacoma and ordered my bike! Both of the guys working were super nice, very helpful, and not pushy in the least. The vibe was super chill, which I very much appreciate. We were able to use the helmets there and ride around the area. It is now ready (they assembled it) and it has been less than a week. This store is incredible--it's like a toy shop for adults! I love browsing all the bike models on display and seeing how they're paired with different accessories. Honestly, just walking in makes me want to work here part-time. I recently bought a second-hand Rad bike and couldn't be more excited that their warehouse is right in my neighborhood. I picked up some accessories too, thinking I'd get 45-50% off with the tune-up package, but the discount turned out to be only 10%--definitely read the fine print. This is a cool bike place. I love their bubbly water on tap with cappuccino's available via an automated machine. Of course the bikes are cool and so are the people that work there. Great place to go on a Saturday to try a few bikes and make a decision to buy one right then and there. It's right in the thick of things as far as being around all the breweries in Ballard so you can get out and make a day of it in the neighborhood.... they have sales and sometimes showroom models that they discount so I feel like the value can definitely be there if you shop their website and store. read more

This place has consistently delivered some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've been in five separate times trying to get help with a $2,000 bike I bought from them -- and not once has anyone actually resolved any issues. Each visit is the same: long waits, disinterested staff, and absolutely no accountability. For a shop that sells high-end bikes, you'd expect at least basic competence and follow-through. The customer service while buying the bike was great, Very friendly but it stops there. Very unorganized with the shipping process and got the run around to where my order was and still is. We bought 2 bikes and after 2 weeks we finally received both of our bikes but the accessories are still in the wind. The Helmet, I'm not sure about but I'm supposed to keep calling customer service when wanting an update, it's very frustrating as my accessories are coming on 3 different delivery days.I was told it would take a few days to get my order but after 2 weeks I'm still waiting. We live in Spokane but bought the bike in Seattle. I would really like to ride my new bike before we have to store it for the winter‍. I have the new saddle bags for the Rad electric bike in the picture. I was VERY happy with the bike. I also have a front carrying rack that is also new. The bike was stolen in 2 minutes from the 7 11 store. A guy picked it up and put it in the truck and took off. I will buy another Rad electric bike this spring. Last fall we Purchased a Rad Rover 5 and a Rad Rover 5 step through. We had a blast riding our local trails but the Rad Rover 5 step through is a bit large for my wife so we got her a mini. Test run will be this weekend. After I assembled them we took our bikes to a professional bike mechanic to have the derailer and brakes set up properly (highly recommended) now the run in tip top shape and we can't wait for the weekend. read more

As of today, I count 130 of the 265 Yelp reviews of Rad Power Bikes in Seattle at 3 stars or less. And 87 of those 130 are 1 star! It's incredible that a company claiming to be the biggest seller of ebikes in the US to have nearly 50% of it's customer reviews at 3 stars or less. I've owned a Rad City for more than five years and have covered almost 8,000 miles through five western states on it. I've been generally happy with it. So why the 1 star? For almost a year, I've been trying to purchase a second battery for the bike to no avail. Checking the Rad web site regularly, I'm continually faced with an "out of stock" message. Apparently Rad is too busy pushing out new bikes to worry much about its customers' need for spare parts -- batteries being the the one proprietary part that Rad ensures can't be purchased elsewhere. So if you're in the market for an ebike, please consider Rad's treatment of its existing customers. Action, not words, count. read more

I took two safely working Radrover 6plus bikes into RAD Service Center and left with one working bike and one bike unsafe to ride! Let me start off with saying I love my Radrover 6plus bicycles and that's why I'm giving two stars in lieu of one star. I bought my bikes new and they worked flawlessly albeit time for their complementary tuneup by the Seattle RAD service department. After scheduling online I procured the first and second service appointment for a Saturday, I was let known the service would be about an hour for each bike, and I could pick up upon completion. I arrived 15 minutes early to the Seattle RAD store and an employee let me come in a few minutes before they opened. So far I was very pleased with RADs customer service but that was soon to change. Upon identifying myself the service technician responded "okay, so your going to drop your bikes off for a few days and we'll get them serviced?" I explained I have two appointments for two bikes and I will be taking the bikes with me after they are done this morning because I live an hour south of Seattle. After a bit of confusion they took the bikes in and said it would be a couple hours until they will be ready for pick up. After walking around Ballard for a couple hours I received a call saying my bikes were almost done, but an aftermarket part was installed incorrectly. However, a mechanic here at RAD can fix it for $20. I had no reason to not trust a professional RAD bike mechanic so I authorized the $20 repair. Another hour later I returned to the RAD Service Center and I was asked which bike shop installed my stem riser because the did it wrong? I identified that I installed the stem riser without issue. I asked what was wrong with the stem and the RAD technician and RAD mechanic told me everything was fine when they checked the bike, but when the supervisor crossed checked the service work at which point clamp screw on the stem riser moved a little past tolerance. However they can run to the hardware store, get a larger screw, and tap out the failed part. I agreed to again let RAD make the repair. About thirty minutes later I was informed I could pick up my bikes. However, they were unable to find the right size of screw, my bike was now unsafe to ride, I would have to make the repair myself, and I would have to sign a release from RAD because my bike was leaving their shop unsafe to ride. Questions: Why were RAD techs checking the torsion on an aftermarket component? Why was the screw stripped even beyond finger tightness if it turned just a little past tolerance? Why was I told the part was installed incorrectly if the original RAD techs found no issues? Why wasn't I given a copy of the signed release for taking an unsafe bike? The RAD technician and mechanic were very apologetic, but this didn't make up for decommissioning a working bike, leaving the repairs up to me, and not being straightforward with the mishap. Team RAD and RAD Management, I bought $4500 of bicycles and accessories from the Seattle store this year and you have completely lost my trust for your service department and service management style. read more

Putting that aside these RAD e-bikes are amazing and if you think your exercise routine suffers you need to do your due diligence before judging these amazing bike. Three Modes of Use: No Pedal Assist - Turn off the electronics and ride it like you would a traditional bike, the seven speed shifter is smooth and effective, however you will feel the full affect of the weight since these bikes weigh in at an unbelievable sixty-eight pounds stripped down. Pedal Assist - Turn on this feature and you'll unleash five modes of pedal assist level one is minimal activation of the 750 hub motor this will instantly make you smile and still require human interaction but match this with the correct gear using your shifter and you'll enjoy miles of enjoyment with minimum effort - turn it up to level five and hold on you'll pedal up hills and over steep climbs with little to know effort but watch your speed you'll be buzzing up to twenty miles per hour in the blink of an eye you battery life will be taxed but no worries this forty eight volt battery is a workhorse. Full Auto - Twist the thumb throttle and hold on no pedaling required - great for getting moving from a dead stop or in loose sand, on an incline or full time if you want to experience a pedal free ride. No matter the mode these bikes are amazing. I've also started to tricking out my bikes with some RAD sponsored accessories and some aftermarket accessories that fit as well. I have had nothing but positive experiences in my interactions with this company and the quality of the products are very high, trust me before I shelled out $1,500 per bike before any accessories I did my research and few do it this well. We carry these on the back of our Motorhome making exploring our destinations so much better, from the beach, to the off road trails and mountainous terrain these bikes performed excellent and hold up well. I haven't experienced any issues but I keep them clean and do the maintenance myself if that's a stretch for you I suggest having it checked and tuned periodically at a local bike shop for years of trouble free enjoyment... I've had my Radcity 4 since last September. Living in Chicagoland, I grew up riding in the parks and forest preserve trails. Now, living in the burbs and only five miles from work, and recovered from foot surgery, I am so glad that I got this bike. My morning commute gets me going and the ride home is casual and relaxing. The battery gets charged after 40 miles so I don't get caught without a boost to get home. The brakes are great and the suspension dampens the cracks and bumps along my ride. They make you feel as though you are a complete inconvenience, I guess they would rather be playing hacky sack out back with their bros. My bike had an electrical issue when I first got it. I brought it in to get fixed, and they said they couldn't find it. I DID. Now that it is out of warranty, they are getting around to fixing it. But at a cost. Yay for me!!! As a Seattle bike shop service professional, I would like to thank SadPower for their latest round of screwups. Being 30 years deep in this business, I've seen company after company try to latch onto the local bike scene like a vampire squid only to fail miserably. I'm hoping SadPower is next in that boat. They recently redesigned their sadwagon to poorly emulate the Tern GSD. The main issue (aside from the poor quality, lack of support, Walmart-level parts, etc.) is the fact that they went with 22" wheels this time around. Guess what isn't a standard size AT ALL anywhere?! You guessed it! 22"!! And now all their tires are effed up so bad that they have sent emails to allllll their sadwagon customers telling them to not ride their bikes for FOUR MONTHS until they get replacement paper thin POS tires for them. Nice work, folks. It's a lot easier convincing consumers of the higher quality of our bikes now! Keep on equipping terrible non-standard parts and (allegedly) killing children with your bikes! We bought 2 RadMission bikes and we love them! We test rode the RadMission and the RadRunner bikes. One of the key reasons why we choose the RadMission bike was the way it sits. It felt like our regular manual bikes, while the RadRunner bikes sits up high and it doesn't feel as natural. We've rode electric bikes before so we had an idea of what we liked. At first I wasn't sure I wanted a single speed bike, but after we test rode the RadMission bike up on a hill, the single speed felt solid. I was sold that this is the bike for me. It's been 4 months since we got the bikes and we ride all around Seattle, including the hills without any problems. We often pedal and keep the pedal assist level at 1 or 2, but when we need a little help we throttle the handlebars for a quick assist. Every time I ride my bike I feel like a kid again! We bought our bike based on recommendations from friends and a fantastic sale. It then took months for us to actually put it to the test. Unfortunately, this test occurred and began at 7:30 am as I started the Palouse to cascades trail in Northbend. Within 2 minutes the chain was skipping and not maintaining pedal power. The issue was the 2 inner cogs of the rear cassette. I decided to limp it to Northbend since it was my only option and wait for a bike shop to open. Unfortunately, the bike store would not work on it based on some lawsuit that was out there. Frustrated with the situation, I bought a tool thinking I could pull the rear wheel and tighten the cassette like other bikes. Not so. I borrowed my friends rad bikes and headed out to catch up to my friends. Flash forward- after several attempts to call and a consistent message of high call volume and no help I called the store. No self repair possible. Drove it down and then picked up the repaired bike a few weeks later just in time to take it to whistler for the week. After a mile and a half battery assist quits, we try customer support( no help), do Google search ( try all the plug and unplug) recommendations, no help. Bring it home and deliver it back to RAD. This time they replace the back hub. Then same thing happens and I bike home manually. Deliver it back to RAD and this time they replace the computer and things have been good. Just frustrating that the tools are unique so take the tool bag with you. Don't expect help from any number listed on the web. It has been the same message for last 4 months. Only way to get help is to either call the store or take it in. Take the bike you buy on a long ride before loading up and driving away. I hope my ordeal was just a fluke. read more

I have been an owner of 2 Rad Power bikes for less than 2 weeks now and I am about to scream. I own a RadWagon 4 and a RadRunner 2. In the 2 weeks I have actually had hands on them, I have blown the front tube of the RadWagon 4 twice. This second time I wound up injured because of it. The RadWagon has the most mileage on it, just 13 miles. The first tube went at 11 miles. The second just 2 miles later. Customer service is a joke. I have been on hold longer than I have been riding. Shipping seems to come from one of 2 warehouses. 1 is in Washington. The other is in Georgia. So getting spares is hard and time consuming. Some may say just go to the bike shop or Amazon for a tube. Can't. The RadWagon 4 uses an off size tube and tire only available through Rad Power. And they cost an arm and a leg plus shipping. Tube is $15 and slow shipping is another $10. Even if they show it shipped within 24-48 hours of getting the order, it still sits in limbo for days until they actually pull, pack and give it to someone to deliver. I have ridden across the United States. I can't count how many tires and tubes I have repaired and replaced. This is a simple thing, yet something is wrong and I can't seem to get anyone on the phone to help me. I think I now own a $2,000 paperweight. read more

We got our bike in February 2020 and love it. We made multiple visits to the store leading up to the decision to test ride their options. The employees were always friendly and helpful with all our questions. Technically, my boyfriend was looking for a commute e-bike that was compact enough to store at his desk, but we had so much fun test riding the RadRunner as a duo that we went for it. The downside is there aren't really hills around the shop to test the bike on, so keep that in mind if you intend to ride it somewhere hilly. I don't ever drive the bike as it seems pretty heavy to me and I am new to bike riding in general. We generally ride around Lincoln Park and Alki Beach in West Seattle. Going up the hills does take some effort (from my boyfriend. I just get to chill). We have also ridden it to downtown and Discovery Park from West Seattle. In about the 6 months we've had the bike, my boyfriend has had to adjust the brakes a couple times as they got loose. The inner piece of the left handlebar also fell out at some point. We have no idea where. We haven't done anything about this though since I don't think that piece has any real function. No other issues to note. RadRunner Electric Utility Bike: $1,299 at our time of purchase. I think this is now the RadRunner 1 for $1,199. It's a bummer the RadRunner Plus was not available at that time, as I think we would've spent extra for that as I think it has more power for hills. RadRunner Passenger Package: $99. This is my seat. I love it and find it very comfortable. RadRunner Center Console: $99. We use it to store our bike lock and tools. We don't use the phone and cup holder on the lid that often. Depending how much leg space you need, you might find it uncomfortable. My boyfriend doesn't mind it, but we let our friend (who owns his own RadRunner) test ride our bike with the console and he didn't like it. read more

Another very good interaction from Rad in terms of service. Dropped bike off at 10am and was ready super fast in 2hrs despite needing to replace chain, flywheel and a new tire. They also did not charge for labor on the new tire since "we already have the wheel off" they said. A lot of staff around in service and sales to answer questions. They do not assume you know anything about bikes which is great. read more

First off, I love my Rad Rover 5 I've had 3 years and 1000+ miles. I also love my wife's newer Rad Mini Step-Through. I recently crashed the mini on a forest trail, bending the forks irreparably. I was able to buy new forks same day from Rad in Seattle, but when installing by myself at home a couple weeks later I found that the stem was shorter than my original forks, although I had given the technician on the phone the correct year and model of bike I had. So that was frustrating. I called Rad back to explain the issue and after a few minutes on the phone with Alex we realized the new forks I'd picked up were for a different model year. Driving to the Rad store and back home is a 2 hour trip during most days (Seattle traffic!!) so I asked Alex if they would be kind enough to put the forks on for me, for the inconvenience and time wasted on my part. Alex was able to find a way to get me into a tech early the next morning and not only did I get the correct forks this time, but they were installed with full due diligence by the shop, ensuring correct and safe operation. I am a 70 year old that skis the black diamonds on the slopes and this has become my summer feel like on the slopes. I've already got 120 miles in the first 10 days. Just don't do it! Pay more for a bike from a more reputable company! We recently purchased our family's 4th rad bike, a rad wagon, and I wish we hadn't. Their customer service is basically non-existent, so if you need help, you are on your own. I knew that the customer service was extremely poor, but I still chose to purchase from them again. Learn from my mistake. We originally had two rad bikes that were stolen in summer of 2022. I contacted rad to try to get the original receipts for my insurance company, and without getting any of my information they just told me that they didn't have them. I asked them how they knew that since they hadn't asked me any information and they said that they looked it up with my email (apparently not even thinking to ask if I'd bought them under a different email address?) We wanted to replace the bikes, and have plans to move to Europe in the near future so I asked about the bike's compatibility in the EU (Rad Power Bikes has an EU office so this shouldn't be a hard question to answer.) However, the agent just responded that they don't work in the EU so they don't know. I asked if they could at least try to get me an answer, and they didn't respond. At that point we decided to not replace our stolen rad power bikes with new ones since their customer service was so lackluster and uncaring. Fast forward a few months later, we want to live car free but are also hoping to move out of the country soon. We decided just to scoop up a new rad wagon since they are on the inexpensive end of e-bikes and we were already familiar with them, thinking we'd only use it for a few months. What a mistake! I ordered the bike and several accessories (spending $2435 total), including a large roll top basket liner for $109. Most of my order was delivered a few days ago. The FedEx driver knocked and woke up my baby even though there's a do not knock sign on my front door (I understand that he did it because he needed a signature, but it still was an inconvenience). So I'm rushing to get the packages inside and get back to my baby, there were maybe five packages including the bike. I have to get everything inside and get the bike put in the garage and I don't think to open every package and make sure everything is there before the FedEx driver leaves. I also didn't realize that all of the items were coming in the same shipment since they were broken up into separate shipments in my email confirmation. A few days later I noticed that we have not received the basket liner, so I checked my email. I see that it says it was delivered with the rest of my order on March 30th. We definitely didn't receive it so I start trying to contact customer service, which Rad Power Bikes does NOT make easy. The first thing I try is the chat function on their website. I send a message, it says no agents are available, so I wait. An agent enters the chat so I tried to engage them several times and I get no response. So then I text their customer service text number, and get no response either. So then I call their customer service number and get an automated menu with two options. Neither of the options are what I need so I just press buttons to get through to a human. Miguel answers the phone. He doesn't seem to have a lot of customer service skills so I think I maybe reached a bike mechanic. I tell him my problem and he says "but you signed for it". At this point I'm just exasperated and ask to speak to the supervisor. He puts me on hold for a long time and when he comes back he tells me someone will give me a call back in 24 to 48 hours. We'll see. I don't have high hopes and I don't have the feeling that this company is going to help me and I think we're probably just out $109. And we purchase it using an Affirm loan so we don't even have the option of going through our credit card company and reporting fraud. So bottom line, buy your bike from a reputable company. Shop locally. Rad Power Bikes will screw you over. read more

They refused to sell me a Rad city bike without a battery. I own a Rad Rover and a Rad step through. Recently I thought my battery was bad on my step through and ordered another battery. The bike I purchased is nice looking but my rotors were bent when it arrived. Their customer service.is awful! Unfortunately they laid off a ton of people and now they have no one to answer any calls for inquiries. I had to send an email to support for assistance for replacement parts. I sent the inquiry on the day I received the bike and still a week later, have yet to receive any response. It's very disappointing to spend sooo much money and not have an actual point of contact. I will never ever recommend this company to anyone! So now I have a brand new bike that I paid for and can't use. Find another e-bike manufacturer!
