He made sure the suspension was calibrated for me down to the pound, wheeled the bike to the shop so that the smart features were working properly (it required expertise from the technicians), and even crawled into the cab of my truck to get it to fit, then had me lift the tailgate, such that he had to contort his body to crawl through the tiny window to get back out (he insisted)! You can't find service at a company where an employee will sacrifice their body to guarantee gear gets home safely, except at evo, apparently. read more

Evo Seattle is my home store, and honestly, I'm just so grateful they're here. I've bought two sets of skis, two pairs of boots, and way too much outerwear and base layers here over the years, so I've spent a lot of time in the shop. The selection is huge, but it's really the people that keep me coming back. The shop team is awesome and they actually listen. If something isn't feeling right with your gear, they're super open to feedback and want to make it right. Matt, the shop manager, is the man. He's incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. It makes a huge difference going into a season knowing your gear was handled by people who care. I also have to give a massive shoutout to Caesar, who helped me with a boot fit recently. I can't say enough good things about him. He sat there and listened to every single complaint I had about my old boots and didn't stop until we found the perfect pair. We tried on at least four different sets, and he was so patient through the whole process. What I appreciated most was how honest he was about the tradeoffs between different fits. He explained exactly what I should be looking for and how to adjust them on the fly. He moved me from a "beginner" comfort fit into a performance boot that feels worlds better on the snow. I really hope he's still there when I'm ready for my next pair, but honestly, with how good he is, he'll probably be running the company by then. this experience happened over a couple visits. I called into evo and discussed in detail what I needed, and when I needed it. they assured me I'd be able to rent boots and have everything adjusted and that they'd meet my needs. I show up at evo and they tell me upon arrival I cannot in fact rent just the boots as I was previously told. at this point I'm supposed to be on the mountain in an hour and a half and I still have to pick up 4 people. My only option to ski then becomes to just buy new boots at the evo store next door. I go next door and am helped by a nice man who spent time making sure it was a good fit, adjusting them and fitting them to me (this is one of two reasons it's not a one star). However after about 20 minutes into being in the evo store he breaks it to me that none of there boots are gonna fit my bindings most likely since they're older. I asked if I should bring My skis inside to see if they fit. I was told I can't bring my skis into the store but I can buy the boots and take them over to the rental store to see if they fit. This is not feasible as I've already been here 35-40 minutes and buying a pair of boots to find out I need to go back and return them is not something I have time for. Also this is a ski and board shop, why are we anti bringing in skis to make sure it's right??? At this point I'm out of options so I go back to rentals to just rent a set of boots and skis. Boots go on, immediately too tight on my calves. We try adjusting them but they're just too tight. So this option is not out the window as well. my very last option is to just break into snowboarding so I get some boots and a board to rent. After the whole experience he gives me a discount (online rental discount) to make up for everything. (This is a great service move and def is a big reason why I came back to buy stuff from evo upon returning, and also the other reason it's not a one star) and an hour later I'm finally on my way. Cut to, boarding was fun and I love it, def prefer it over skiing. So I got back to return my rentals, this was swift, same guy helped me. Cool guy. Then head back to the evo store to try on some boots and talk about what board is best. Ultimately the plan was to buy boots, bindings, and a board. i go in, need to use the bathroom, nope, bathrooms closed so I go back to rentals and go there. Now I'm back in the evo store again. ( just a minor inconvenience but a real cherry on top at this point). I go up, look at boots for a bit and then ask an associate if they're busy, they were helping someone so they put me on a waiting list. Ok no big deal its a bit busy. So I sit, I'm on my phone researching boots and bindings, and I'm looking over the banister an I'm seeing associates straight chillin. I don't mean the counter girls, I'm well aware they have to stay where they are but how am I sitting here for 25 minutes after they wait list me and bros sitting down there having a yap session and meandering? I was in the store for probably 35 minutes. I left. I went to return my board and buy some stuff and I spent 50 minutes here to gaze upon the evo landscape at people getting paid to help me, not helping anyone at all. (Not all associates, just a couple). This whole experience was probably not a standard experience from everything I've heard about evo, but omg what an inconsistent, inconvenient, and disappointing experience. I'm 100% not coming back here unfortunately. read more

My family had such a great experience at Evo today! The manager Blake let us in early out of the cold and showed us around the whole building including the amazing skate park on the bottom floor. The boot fitter (Jaren or Jared) made my daughter so comfortable throughout the whole process - she is so excited to have her own custom boots made just for her feet! The service shop alerted me to an issue with my skies that had been shipped to the store - and Blake the manager again, handled it and got us comped for the issues and gave us great advice on how to maximize that value. Service goes such a long way in making a decision on where to spend multiple thousands of dollars on your gear... these folks are A+ and have made it such an easy decision to continue to shop here. very disappointed with the service. I originally went in and picked up the skis without much thought, as i walked to put them in the car I noticed a piece of material from the ski sticking out from underneath the binding (as seen in the photo) indicating that they just drilled the holes and didn't clean it before putting the bindings on. I went in and explained the situation to the person at the front desk, he told me it shouldn't affect the skiing and that the plastic on the binding will flex. he then asked if it was a "satisfactory answer" to which I responded that it just shows poor workmanship. I'm sure they'll work, I'm just disappointed with the fact that they didn't clean them up better and will be looking elsewhere to get work done on my skis in the future. read more

The staff are mostly nice, so I'm giving them one star for that. I bought boots at Evo, even though my friends recommended that I go to Sturtevant's because of their free fitting service. I went skiing a few times and found that the boots needed fitting. I found out that Evo doesn't provide that service. I also bought Evo-branded poles, but the grip wasn't very good--it feels like cheap plastic. I tried to return them, but there are no exchanges or returns for these garbage poles. I used them, so they're not returnable or exchangeable. I asked how I was supposed to know when I bought them in the store how they would handle when I was actually skiing. They just said, sorry, no exchanges or returns. I'm taking my business elsewhere for all my skiing needs. read more

We reserved two ski / snowboard packages in advance for today. It took about 45 minutes to get our items. The reviews were better than Summit, so we chose here. My main problem is that they close at 6pm while the slopes are open until 9:30pm. They allow until the next day at noon to drop things off but this is a one day local ski destination for many. And it's not feasible to go home and then come back the next day for drop off. There are no after hours return and you cannot return to another location. So we had to end our day early just to return the gear. If you rent from Summit, they have locations open during the full hours of the park. I think any rental place needs to be open the full hours of the establishment they are supporting. The other option would be renting in Seattle, picking up the day before, and then returning the day after For when you get home. read more

I've been in several times (at the shop, repair counter, and rental counter) and I've always been impressed with the quality of service! Staff are quick to answer questions or refer you to someone else who can help. When I stopped in to get a nick on my skis fixed, the staff even told me that it was such minor damage that I shouldn't bother fixing it - to me, that's a great sign that a business is trustworthy! My first time at Evo, I was shopping for new skis and mounts, and I loved how I could make an appointment so I wouldn't have to wait for an employee. Just a few months later, when the binding failed on my ski, staff went above & beyond to determine what happened before replacing the bindings on my ski for free because they knew they could file the warranty claim with the manufacturer directly. read more

Evo is a really solid place for ski and boarding equipment/services. One of the guys in the shop did fantastic work on my core shot monoski and helped mount 4 other monoskis. However, the boot fitter (can't remember his name) that looks like a miniature version of Glen Powell from Top Gun Maverick seemed pretty insecure that my wife and I ride monoskis. He kept laughing at her until she told him to stop. I'll only dock one star from ya though, sport. I totally get that you need two skis and some pizza to keep up ;) read more

I have bought a lot of gear at Evo over the years. I've had many pairs of ski boots. And I want to give special props to Vaun Mcaleer, boot fitter par excellence! He uses tapes to measure the arch, a tool to measure behind the foot, as well as standard shoe-size gauges, stretches the foot to determine flexibility, asks all the right questions, And listens! I've shopped here for a while. Bought a snowboard and a full wakeboard setup in the past. My wife's wakeboard boa boot broke off and I wandered in wondering if they could fit it. Michael at the front desk was super cool and told me to go upstairs and see if another associate named Britney could fix it. Within minutes she examined it, said she could and asked if it was cool for me stick around for 15 minutes so she could fix it. BIG SHOUT OUT to store manager, BLAKE & wizard boot fitter, VAUN - these 5 stars are because of you two! FYI, without these guys, I'd be leaving a 1-star review for sure! During my initial visit, I waited 2-hours to see a boot fitter, as I had been told evo/Seattle is "the place" if you want to get your boots right. Ended up with a young fitter who left me almost offended at the lack of effort, knowledge and detail that I had come to expect from everything I'd heard. After probably 30-minutes I ended up leaving with a pair of $800 boots that seemed to fit in the store based on the advice of the fitter After a few days of skiing, went to a non-evo independent professional boot fitter to have custom foot beds made and the boots punched. He was all but shocked that evo would have put me in that specific boot, and noted it was probably a young, undertrained fitter - indeed. The time and attention to detail during this visit was wonderful and really taught me a lot. Though he made some great improvements, I was still having far too much movement in my boot especially when in technical terrain. Called evo to inquire about what they could/would do, if anything, as I'd already skied 5-6 days on the boots. The person I initially spoke to said evo would not return/exchange any boots that had already been skied on. Hearing of my experience, she immediately sent me to store manager, Blake. He couldn't have been more professional, apologetic, sympathetic, you name it - Blake demanded they make it right and assured me it would be at no additional expense to me. That very day, he set me up with their most seasoned boot fitters, Vaun who ended up staying past closing to make sure I was taken care of. This man took so much time to educate, measure, observe, frankly disect every single aspect of my feet, ankles, legs, stance, etc., to ensure everything was taken into consideration. 2.5 hours later, I left evo with new boots, new foot beds, and my faith totally restored. read more

I have visited Evo several times over the past 2 months for ski boot fittings, ski maintenance, ad ski gear! Overall, I have had pleasant experiences! My 1st visit: I came here the 1st time for a ski boot fitting. I have always worn rentals, and have never owned my own ski boots, so I didn't know what to expect. Well, expect to spend a couple of hours here if you are getting fitted! It was a Friday night before Thanksgiving and surprisingly the waitlist for ski boot fitting wasn't too long and we got assigned a fitter within 10 min! We had Charlie, and he was great! He was very knowledgeable about skis and boots, being an accomplished skier himself. He had me try on several ski boots, and eventually recommended I order a boot off Evo if I was looking for a lower price point, and he highly suggested the $60 insoles. But I said I'd look into those later. So the 1st visit I didn't buy anything. 2nd visit: my boots were ordered online, and sent to be picked up at will call here. I met my friend and we went in on a Friday before Christmas to pick them up. I tried them on quickly near the children's clothing section, and called it good. We also dropped off a pair of old skis to get tuned. At first I was going to go with a simple wax, but the guy at the ski shop suggested I should probably get them more than waxed since they were a bit rusty and needed work, I went ahead and dropped $70 for a good tune up on the skis and to get them fitted to my new boots. I also picked up a helmet that was on sale for $50 that night! 3rd visit: was this past Sunday right before New Year. I just tried out my new boots straight out of the box Sat at Crystal and they were sooo painful. So I figured I needed to go back, get the better insoles, and get some spots punched out. Well this time, the waitlist was over an hour long. So I waited and waited. Then I got assigned a boot fitter named Gabby. Loved her! I told her my boots pinched at the calves and there were a few hot spots near my heel. She totally understood. She got the insoles I needed, heat molded my boots, and punched out the thick cushion of my boot. I def think it'll help the foot pain next time I am on the slopes! They call it the evo fit, and it has a 1 year + 1 day warranty for $60, you get insoles + free ski socks! As I waited I browsed the clothing and accessory section, and clothing here is a bit pricey, and their sale section isn't the greatest, but overall the service is great here and the ppl are knowledgeable! They have a good selection of skiis, but customer service is not good at all! The staff are not friendly or helpful! The only reason we shopped from them was their inventory, otherwise Sturtevants' staff were much more helpful! We wanted to get two pairs of skiis, we had to wait even though we had an appointment. The person assigned to us was not engaged, he was standing by the computer waiting to place the order. His recommendations were for more advanced as skiiers. He seemed uninterested in us since we were beginners. We ended up using recommendations from Sturtevant's to pick length and width of our skiis from evo! Eventually we ordered skiis. We had to come to the store to take them to the assembly shop! They could have done that themselves and saves a trip from Bellevue! And the best part is once we picked up the skiis we realized they installed the wrong binders for us! We made our fourth trip to the store to have them fix the binders!! I think evo needs to re-visit their customer service and staff training! This is not how retailers treat customers! Especially when ordering a few thousand dollars worth of ski equipment! read more

My low volume feet and I had been struggling with boot fit for years. I went into Evo for my 3rd pair in 5 years, and Andrew finally got me a setup that works for me. I had to go back a few time to get the fit dialed, but boy does he know his stuff. Definitely worth booking with him if you have not so straightforward feet. read more

Beware when buying a new mountain bike from Evo. The build quality wasn't impressive. Either they have a problem with needing to assemble so many bikes in a short period of time, or they have inexperienced mechanics, or both.  I bought a Yeti from them a few weeks ago, and noticed multiple problems with the build. The biggest problem is that they overtightened the air pressure buttons on the Fox F38 forks when they attached the fender, cracking both of them inside of the lowers. One fell off while riding, resulting in a sucking sound every time I hit a bump. The parts are on back order, so basically it's dead in the water until they can be replaced. Additionally, my rear rotor came loose after 3 rides, and one of my valve cores came out when I removed the valve cap.  Make sure you have a qualified mechanic look over your bike if you do choose to buy a new one from them. read more

I didn't really intend on buying anything but the sales person that I worked with really had such a great knowledge of all their gear and the sport itself. I totally connected with him as we were talking about the love of the hill. He showed me a set that he had the chance to ride last year and how excellent that ride and control was for him. My boyfriend and I have been trying to get into this particular location for a while now and often drive by it--only to see a long line. Two days ago, we finally attempted to make a visit. We waited outside for about 30 minutes with the sun beaming down on us when it was 80 degrees out. The staff was friendly and engaging but asked every single person in line what they were looking for---when we were at the front of the line. I understand that they're taking extra precautions during COVID, which I appreciate--especially being that I work in healthcare. However, they are going beyond extreme measures and only letting x amount of people do do one thing and x amount of people to do another (they also encourage you to wear gloves). The lady in charge of the capacity line, kept walking away and helping the others in line, bringing out bikes and stepping away, and going into the service center. There was a moment that they lady was gone for a good ten minutes. We were being extremely patient, the lady was not paying attention and we noticed that 6 people left the store. The lady didn't even seem to acknowledge how long we have been waiting and we eventually just left because no one let us in. Apparently they encourage you to set up an appointment, let you cut the line for those people who were there first, and discourage 'browsing' around and would rather you have your eyes set on a 'specific item'. We were just trying to look at snowboard accessories. Evo needs to work on the logistics of their COVID precautions because it's not really working. I even saw two others leave the line because it took so long. read more

I love Evo as a store, they have a great selection and it's fun to browse for any outdoor lover. However, I had a number of bad experiences at the Seattle location. It comes down to staff not being very helpful. My husband bought his boots in their Portland store and I was shocked to see what all they did for him to make sure his boots are a comfortable fit. I eventually asked if they can help me since I had been miserable in my boots ever since I bought them in Seattle. They helped me adjust and mold them for free since they could clearly tell that none of this had been done for me in Seattle. read more
