My family had such a great experience at Evo today! The manager Blake let us in early out of the cold and showed us around the whole building including the amazing skate park on the bottom floor. The boot fitter (Jaren or Jared) made my daughter so comfortable throughout the whole process - she is so excited to have her own custom boots made just for her feet! The service shop alerted me to an issue with my skies that had been shipped to the store - and Blake the manager again, handled it and got us comped for the issues and gave us great advice on how to maximize that value. Service goes such a long way in making a decision on where to spend multiple thousands of dollars on your gear... these folks are A+ and have made it such an easy decision to continue to shop here. I can't say enough good about how our time there went today. We're now set and ready to hit the slopes! Thanks Evo crew!

very disappointed with the service. I originally went in and picked up the skis without much thought, as i walked to put them in the car I noticed a piece of material from the ski sticking out from underneath the binding (as seen in the photo) indicating that they just drilled the holes and didn't clean it before putting the bindings on. I went in and explained the situation to the person at the front desk, he told me it shouldn't affect the skiing and that the plastic on the binding will flex. he then asked if it was a "satisfactory answer" to which I responded that it just shows poor workmanship. I'm sure they'll work, I'm just disappointed with the fact that they didn't clean them up better and will be looking elsewhere to get work done on my skis in the future.

Wakeboard boot fixed up thanks to EVO!

Are daily snowboard rentals available? If so, where can I find the rates?

You usually can find their season leases on the website. They aren't up yet but I bet it'll be up soon!

I came in with zero cycling…read moreknowledge, and the folks there were super helpful in giving me some guidance about the different types of bikes. I was originally looking for a used bike but they only had two in my size that were both road bikes. I tried them both but ended up going with a new gravel bike that was a bit more all-purpose! They have a lot across the street where you can try out the bikes for as long as you need. I ended up testing out four diff bikes, and they were super nice about all of it even though it took me forever. They didn't have the color I wanted, but they let me know how to order it online and have it shipped there so they could build the bike for me. They said doing it this way is the same as buying directly from the store! I still get all the benefits like 30 days of free accessories installation and such. My partner also got a used bike that was in great condition!

I chatted with him while he fixed my bike and all of the prices were transparent with no hidden cost. What I love about recycled cycles is the fact that I can learn as I go and at my own pace. Kirk, like the rest of the staff appear passionate about cycling and the rider. I love knowing that parts that I am using are being given a new life. With the diagnosis, we figured out what we I'll address now to ride the bike and what I will need to up keep and maintain 3 months from now. What a great service and experience. 10 stars.

UPDATE: After posting this review, it somehow got worse. On a later visit, an employee -- who I…read moreunderstand may be a part-owner -- confronted me about the review, followed me out of the store, and called me a "chicken shit" on my way out, blaming me yet again for the entire situation. I'll let that speak for itself. A business that responds to honest, factual feedback by chasing a paying customer out the door and throwing insults has told you everything you need to know about how it treats people. This update wasn't something I went looking for -- it just confirms the exact pattern I described above. REVIEW: I'll stick to the facts. I spent over $6,000 at this shop -- and apparently that doesn't buy you even baseline customer service. I bought my bike here, and after a front wheel/tire failure caused a crash, I went through a Giant warranty claim with Montlake. The product side eventually got resolved, but dealing with them was frustrating from start to finish -- and the real problem wasn't the logistics, it was the attitude. From the beginning, I got the clear sense the shop saw me as an inconvenience rather than a customer. Communication was poor across essentially everyone I dealt with: no timely updates, no callbacks, no straight answers, and I was the one chasing them at every step. More than the delays, it was the tone -- dismissive, condescending, and openly impatient any time I asked a reasonable question about my own bike. One phone call summed up the whole experience. A staff member told me to "chill out dude, you got a new bike even though it was your fault you crashed it," and to stop "beating a dead horse." Talked down to, blamed, and brushed off in a single call. It's also just wrong -- it reflects a basic misunderstanding of how Giant's warranty and crash-replacement programs actually work. I don't expect a shop to agree with me on everything, but I do expect basic respect -- especially as a customer who put thousands of dollars into this place. The product issue got sorted out eventually; the attitude is why I won't be back, and why I'd point other riders elsewhere.

If, however, you have a questionably overpowered long-tail cargo bike running a custom Bafang BBSHD mid-drive setup that may or may not have been engineered during a caffeine-fueled "more capability and power is always a good idea" phase... these are your people. I rolled in with what can only be described as a mechanical riddle wrapped in an enigma of wiring harnesses and torque sensors. My Bafang BBSHD setup had become inhabited by a small tribe of mean spirited electrical gremlins. I'm capable with bike mechanics, but this had gotten over my head - I was bracing for a massive bill (maybe significant part replacements). Instead, the team at Alki Bike & Board just... handled it. Calmly. Confidently. No drama. No upsell. Just pure competence. The bill was less than 1/10 what I had expected. This crew is overseen by a guy called Dayton - I'm not sure if he is more Thor or Hercules. On one hand, he seems like he could summon lightning directly into a mid-drive motor. On the other hand, he has the calm, slightly amused strength of someone who has already defeated twelve labors involving stripped bolts and cross-threaded bottom brackets. Either way, the man is operating on a different plane. He diagnosed the issues quickly, explained everything in plain English (instead of "mystical bike wizard dialect"), and fixed the whole situation for a small fraction of what I was mentally preparing to pay. I didn't believe him when he told me. Bottom line: Extremely knowledgeable Honest pricing No ego, no attitude Dayton = certified bike demi-god If you are near West Seattle and your bike needs anything beyond a gentle pat on the saddle, this is the spot. 10/10. Will bring my mechanical chaos machine back henceforth!
