I had done this in hopes of using my new set in a game I had gone ahead scheduled after my call and online order was placed. I went to try on shoes for circuit training. The staff went out of their way always with a smile. I probably tried on 10 pairs of shoes- always nice about it. I took home a pair which I will have to return but through trial and error I will find some which meet my needs. I ordered three packs of pickleballs online and got two because that was all they had. When I got there I went to the online pickup area where some cashiers were standing around doing nothing and then was told I had to let them know online that I was in the store which among other things involved telling them the color of my shirt. It would have been much faster to just go in and get the balls. This is my fourth and last time dealing with them. A complete joke. Stopwatches have become hard to find in sporting goods stores I found out recently. A few of the stores we had bought stopwatches from in the past were no longer carrying them, so I looked up online where might have them in-store and got directed to DICK's Sporting Goods. Today my mom and I came to the DICK's Sporting Goods at Northgate to see if we could find a few things. My mom bought a shirt and pants for my Grandad at a good price and I got a water-resistant stopwatch. The parking lot was packed, which was slightly surprising for a Thursday early afternoon in February. There were three cashiers working, floor workers, and a security guard inside the main entrance. I walked the store once to see if I could find the stopwatches and had no luck. Then, just as I was about to start a more thorough search, a worker came over and asked if she could help me find anything. I brought up the stopwatches, she looked them up on her work device and led me straight to them. There were two options, a regular stopwatch and a pro stopwatch that was water-resistant. I went with the water-resistant pro stopwatch because... well... this is Seattle and it can be rainy here. Pre-tax it was $19.99 and with sales tax it cost $22.04. Ah, the days when sales tax used to be less than 10%. All around enjoyable shopping experience. A good place to shop for shoes, socks, and equipment. This store has a great selection of apparel for the men's teams in Seattle but needs to show some representation for women's professional sports teams. OL Reign went to the finals of women's soccer last year and Dick's carries no apparel for that team. Dick's has no Seattle Storm women's basketball apparel either. Great staff to Managers. Always courteous, helpful when in need and we always find what we need. I just need to get items when they're in full stock as certain sizes go out the door fairly quickly. I DON'T get followed around, as I'm a minority, making me feel uneasy with every move. Security officers at front are usually intimating but that's their position. Went to dicks sporting goods trying to find my son a pair of Nike cortez tennis shoes but unfortunately they were out of his size. The employee there went out of there way to call around for me and ended up finding a pair at another location and had them hold them for me. He was so patient and helpful. Amazing service. I like being able to visit a physical store & try the clothes on before I buy them. So far, Dick's continues to offer that. The store was decently clean & organized and had multiple items I could try on during my visit. The ac seemed to be dysfunctional in some way, but maybe they're working to fix that soon. read more

I'm not sure why the ratings for this location are so bad. They don't seem all that different from other Dick's Sporting Goods locations around the country. They don't always have the big ticket items (like certain advertised kayaks) that the stores south of Seattle have plenty of but for everyday sporting goods they have what you need. I came here to get a snorkel set after my trip to the Great Barrier Reef, where I realized the benefits of a good snorkel set. They had a wide range of options from inexpensive to mildly expensive with various features. I found the perfect set and have been happy with it. They also have a good selection of swimming gear like goggles and swim caps. This is handy since Sylvia's is no longer in the area. Prices are reasonable and they have a solid return policy in case anything doesn't work out. read more

Can't say how the prices compare but after reading all these negative reviews I have to say... we've had really nice conversations with multiple sales associates. My daughter started softball and I knew nothing about the gear. Nice guy walked us around and gave us choices, explained everything. Had good luck with soccer gear, too. Was there yesterday too buy some dumbbells but they were out of the weight we're looking for. They took me up front and we got them ordered. I guess if they don't show up I'll come back and revise this but so far, so good! read more

Don't make the mistake of selecting expedited shipping from the online store; If you select the "fastest" of three available timelines for delivery based upon the advertised delivery timeframe, be prepared to take delivery 2+ days past what Dick's claims on the website. Oddly, they never claimed to not have the items ordered in stock; they informed me that the items I ordered had been packaged and made available for pickup and shipment by Fedex within 24hrs of placing the order, but simply tacked on two additional shipping days to their original estimate - essentially pocketing my $28.00 for expedited shipping while allowing Fedex to ship at their bulk rate. So I'll miss delivery of needed supplies in time for my upcoming trip, and leave their packages to the mercy of the porch pirates while out of town... Don't order from these guys. I hate coming in here for the simple fact that the customer service is severely lacking. I walked in at 10:50am on Wednesday 2/5/20 and was not greeted or acknowledged by any of the employees--including the "manager", Thomas, at the front of the store. They were more concerned with carrying on their personal conversation. This is the second time something like this has happened to me in this store. It instantly gave me a bad vibe. I worked in retail for several years and never let a customer walk by me (let alone at the ENTRANCE) without feeling welcomed and I always offered my assistance. Not here. After having to ask for help, two other male employees were kind enough to assist me towards the end of my visit but I will never return. read more

Ping Pong Table Adventure or Trying to Buy Local So we decided to buy a Ping Pong Table after playing on a recent cruise. Couldn't do Craigslist as we do not have a truck, so went shopping locally first. Went to Dick's in Silverdale and picked out a nice table (on sale) with levelers so we could put it in the garage. Paid and when we tried to arrange delivery found out they did not have the table shown on display in the store. Actually, they did not have either that table or the same version for use outside anywhere in this region, but they have it shown available on display in the store. They very nicely checked to see if we could order online, but NO, could not do that either. I suggested to the store manager that if you can not and do not sell something, that perhaps you should not put it on display. We left with no Ping Pong Table, came home and ordered the same one from Amazon for less than the sale price and with free delivery, not $70 for something they do not carry in stock and could not deliver because they did not have it. I went in to buy 2 bikes. I selected the bikes, even had a salesman take one off of a rack. He then walks away, with no other words said. As i get halfway tot he register, i find the guy, and he makes me turn around, dragging two bikes, and take them back to the bike area, to do paperwork. I had a 10% coupon that could only be used online. At first, the guy told me to just order the bikes online (while standing in the store) and they could apply the coupon that way. Then, one bike wasn't showing up in the inventory system (it's in the store, but not in the invo system) so i couldn't place the order online. I had to ask him to ask a manager about taking the coupon in store, after he basically gave me an "oh well" about the inventory mismatch. Then he proceeded to stumble through some verbiage about a warranty, that i could only half hear. All in all, this single employee could have done so much more... A real head scratcher. read more

Finally tracked down an associate who agreed to look in the back to see if they had one of the display bikes in stock and waited almost 30 minutes while he kept disappearing and then coming back to tell me he still needed to check. He finally told me that even if they had it in stock they couldn't sell it to me because they need to put it together in store and didn't have anyone available to do that. What a waste of time. I received my online orders but one item was too small. I called the store and was told they would honor the price. I went to the store to exchange today, they made everything so complicated. Whole registration crew were there. First, I explained the situation as soon as I got there. The associate seemed he understood and would take care of it. I had to return the item and re-buy it, which is totally fine. Then, he gave me LESS amount than I paid. I had to point out to the different associate to fix it that took another ten minutes or so. (During that time, he didn't explain why it was taking that long. He kept printing receipts. He took my receipt away that I had to ask to have it later) He moved to a different register and helped me to order to a bigger size. (He heard what I was explaining earlier so he knew I needed to order the same one to a different size) As he looked it up the item online and started the process of ordering, he bothered to ask my shipping and payment info. He let me type all the information myself on their computer. I ended up paying about $30 more than I originally paid. Why would I go all the way driving thirty minutes to order for the same item for the higher price?! I could have just done that on my computer myself! Since I was clear about what I wanted to do from the beginning and b/c he also knew, I was surprised he didn't explained about not adjusting the price and put an order right through with much higher price. I wasn't rude or anything. When I asked about price, he clearly "annoyed" and he just walked away after putting ANOTHER person on me. (Third person to exchange an item) Suddenly I became the "annoying" customer they want to get rid of. So rude, so upsetting. Completely ruining my day!! I'm the one who should be complaining driving all the way there not getting an exchange they promised!!! I've been shopping from Dicks Sporting Goods and I liked alot. After today's experience, I wouldn't buy anything from them now on. I should've read the reviews of this store before making the trek to their Northgate location. Basically, DO NOT waste your time. I needed help In the golf department and no one came to help for a while. When I did ask for help, the clerk that was sent to help waited and watched me - no "can I help you". Take your business elsewhere (like Discount Golf). They are not pleasant and frankly don't care about customer service. I think they have a minimum requirement of sales people on the sales floor, which is useless since they don't help you. read more

Two busy working on something together and a third that I'm not sure what he was doing, but he wasn't ringing people up. Two of the three employees separately called for help at the resister (nobody ever arrived). It felt like about 4 minutes waiting so I searched on my phone and found the product on Amazon and was about to hit buy now to it shipped to my home but Dicks called me up too the register just then. At this point out of general principle I asked if they would match the Amazon price which was $18 cheaper (30% off). They did match the price! Didn't have bike that my son wanted at the store. Found it on DICKS on line. Was shipped pretty quickly, but needed assembly. Called the store to see if they could assemble it. Said that they could but the bicycle guy - Collin - only worked 2 days a week due to lack of work. Brought it in on a Friday - Collin wasn't there - and dropped off the bike. They did manage to sign me up for a store card though. Called at the beginning of the next week and Collin was still not in but may be in a couple of days. Called the next day and spoke with Collin. He said that due to the amount of work that he needed to do, they needed 5-7 business days (meaning 7 business days) to complete the bike. Son disappointed. We hoped that he could have the bike over spring break, but that won't happen. read more

I purchased a golf driver and paid for expedited delivery. I was told it would be to me by Thursday August 13th by end of day. It has not arrived. I checked the tracking and it showed out for delivery by Friday the 14th end of day. I paid extra because I need it TODAY!! When I called I was told that shipping cost would be refunded. I asked for a coupon for future purchases and was told no. The refund is fine but this isn't about the shipping cost. It's about me needing the club TODAY!
