The young lady that helped me fit my gear was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. She put a lot of time and effort into making sure everything was comfortable and ready to go for a powder day. I bought a bike from Edge & Spoke back in September, and unfortunately broke my ankle the very next day in an unrelated accident. When I was finally able to ride again over a month later, I noticed the shifting wasn't quite right. The Edge & Spoke team was fantastic from start to finish. They went above and beyond to diagnose and fix the issue, and never charged me anything extra. I ended up bringing the bike in three times before everything was perfect, but every visit showed me how committed they were to making it right. It turned out to be a quirky SRAM drivetrain issue that eventually required replacement, but the whole time I felt confident the team would get it sorted out -- and they did. These Mechanics and Staff are great. They trouble shot and diagnosed my Specialized eBike's problem motor, worked with Specialized re shipping a new one, and did all the warrantee paperwork! Specialized corporate suggested them as a Preferred Specialized Dealer. Now I know why. All I had to do was ride away a happy customer! I didn't buy my bike from them, but wish I had, just didn't know about them. I bought from my local big box bike store chain. E&S may be smaller (funky cool historic old dental building), but no Mechanics know Specialized the way they do. E&S Staff know their Specialized owners/clients expect a cut above and deliver. I bought my Aethos here last year and it has been an excellent experience since. Basil was very helpful in informing me about the bike and all around great to work with after multiple visits to this shop. Included in the purchase was complimentary bike fitting. A bike fitting is crucial to getting the most out of your mind and body, it helps to make your rides as efficient as possible whether it be your power, aero, and of course mind. Bike fitting can cost hundreds of dollars, and this shop provided it as part of the purchase using the renowned Retul system. Totally pro fitting and I felt the gains quite quickly after a few rides. The value of the bike + people + fitting is very satisfactory. I did have 2 flats in the first month of riding. Flats are inevitable, but I just felt it was strange since I'm pretty cognizant most the time of what I ride over and never saw sharp pieces. To investigate, I took tire off and found that the edges on around the valve hole were sharp and most likely the culprit for causing my flats. I brought it into the store and I believe they grounded the sharpness out and retyped the rim and I had no more flats for another 2 months. I bought the Aethos expert knowingly that I would upgrade the rims anyways (since the rims that come on the Expert are total crap to begin with). I do suggest Edge and Spoke be more careful and evaluating those valve holes better before sending their customers out for rides as flats can be quite the buzzkill. Do I recommend buying from Edge and Spoke? Absolutely. I have given them repeat business even though they are not my true LBS (proximity wise) because of their service. This is a smaller bike shop and demand/traffic is high there so it can be quite busy at times. Just allocate your time wisely when you visit! read more

After both my preferred bike shops in Sammamish for mountain bike service and in Bellevue for road bike service closed in the past year, I've been looking for a new shop with experienced mechanics that do great work. Edge & Spoke did a great job in installing a new Shimano drivetrain on an old road bike. One part that takes both skill and patience to get right on a 2x road bike drivetrain is getting the front derailleur set up correctly so that the chain dies not rub on the derailleur cage in commonly used gearing combinations. The mechanics at Edge & Spoke did that perfectly on my bike. In addition, they set up front derailleur tension correctly so that the front derailleur can be moved easily to all four positions (Low trim, Low, High trim, High) to minimize chain rub in less used gearing combinations. For the rear derailleur, they noticed that the derailleur hanger needed to be aligned and did that. Not having an aligned derailleur hanger means that the shifting of the rear derailleur will always be slightly imprecise. Finally, their communications about the status of my repairs via text were excellent. There was a slight delay in getting a necessary part, but I always knew the status of my repair via text updates. That was surprising to get updates like that from a bike shop. Edge & Spoke may not necessarily offer the lowest prices around for repairs, but if you want work to be done right the first time around, I will definitely vouch for the quality of work that their mechanics do. read more

Great LBS. the owner is a local and a great guy, committed to his customers and his passion for cycling really shows. The rest of the team is great too. If you have questions they answer them, and they're always willing to walk you through repairs or give advice on bikes and cycling generally. I implicitly trust them and have given blank checks for the team to do the repairs they think are needed because I know they'll be honest and do great work. Even better, in all the times I've come here they've only made a mistake on my bike once. They owned it, admitted it was their fault, comped repairs and a replacement part, and gave me a great loaner bike while they fixed the issue. How often do you see that? Class act all around and very reliable, trustworthy folks who know their business. Highly recommend! read more

I went to this shop to explain that I have a brand -new e-bike (a gift) and while my neighbor helped to assemble it, the brake oil accidentally spilled. I asked for appointment to check or refill the brakes and made it clear I was willing to pay for the service. I choose them because I found them online, they seemed like a good option, they are close to home-my bike is too heavy to carry far. Instead, they told me to come back in 10 days, suggested I go to another shop, and even said I should ask my neighbor to carry the bike. I was treated poorly from the beginning - no willingness to help. I would never recommend this shop to anyone, not for service and not for buying a bike. read more

This is the best bike and ski shop in the PNW. I bought my road bike there years ago and they took a bunch of time to fit it properly. I'm still riding it and love it. I had looked around a while for a specific model of Atomic boots and they had the ones I wanted in stock with tech inserts. They took a ton of time to make sure they were sized and molded right and then adjusted and re-punched them out several days later after I skied in them a bit. I've brought my skis in a bunch of times to have fixed. They understand the urgency of getting stuff fixed quickly so I could go ski. Multiple times they have fixed things while I was in the shop so I could use it the next day. The owner is really nice and has helped me multiple times. All the staff there are super helpful. read more

I recently had my ski boots fitted, liner adjusted, and custom footbed created at Edge & Spoke with Eric. Eric has 50 years experience in the ski business and as a bootfitter. I found him to be exceptional in knowledge and his patience. I was not the easiest customer in that I was on a very tight timeline and probably asked way too many annoying questions. Eric was extremely patient with me and provided me with expert boot fitment. I'm really thrilled with how my boots fit now. I was also very grateful that he provided me with honest advice which was not based on his financial bottom line. He also set me up with some great ski rentals to try out on my trip. I am going to buy a custom boot liner from Eric next after his testimony. Very pleased with this local shop in Redmond, highly recommend! read more

I guess this is a fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me experience. I've been coming here for years. About two, three years ago I changed my entire groupset on my road bike - nice groupos (Duraace 9000). I brought the bike in for a tune because I was at that point starting to train for a big ride. They called me and told me I needed to change the cassette. The cassette and chain at that point had less than 1,000 miles on them. I had gone there for a while - and I thought it was very curious but I said fine. But, in the past if they swapped a part they would return it to me so I figured I'll just check the cassette when I pick up the bike. When I picked up the bike they didn't return the old cassette. It was more or less a new DuraAce cassette. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided - ok - I've been coming here for a while maybe the basically new DuraAce cassette was defective? So a year ago I bought a very nice gravel bike (custom TI also with DuraAce...). I'm predominantly a road rider so have not put a ton of miles on the gravel bike but had done a bunch of riding recently including an epic 70 miler in the Snoqualmie area and while I had attempted to clean it - the bike was pretty dirty - and I had somehow done something to my back tire/wheel. So I brought it in for a clean and asked them to help me figure out and fix the back tire. They ended up telling me the back rotor (which in this case certainly had less than 1,000 miles on it) had to be replaced. They also replaced basically new bar tape. When I picked the bike up - they again did not return the old part. Even more - they had not addressed the back wheel - and so I am two weeks later and I'm trying to fix my back wheel and it was the single most expensive bike service I've ever had. I have noticed when I brought my son's bike in (not super expensive) - everything seems to go smoothly and when I bring in a bike with high end components, the bill goes up pretty fast and they seem to find a lot of parts that need to be replaced. And at this point I've had two different instances where a basically new part dissappeared. I let them know I really was not happy they had not returned the DuraAce rotor that they said needed replacement - but I did not mention that this was the second time it had happened to me there. They contacted me and offerred to refund the rotor because they appreciated my continued business. But, given it was my 2nd experience like this - I texted back that I appreciated the refund but still was very uncomfortable (I was not fishing for $'s I just didn't feel good about it especially since it was the 2nd instance - although I did not reference back to the cassette). At which point the owner called me and told me they are very, very busy so they really don't need my business. At least we are in mutual agreement. If you have pretty nice bike equipment I would *strongly* encourage you to go elsewhere. Parts seem to disappear here. EDIT: I appreciate the response from the owner. I have no idea why they cant find the cassette record. But I'm 100% certain and I brought it up with my biking buddies on multiple occassions because I was frustrated by it. I'm also certain that the cassette had very little usage because at that time I was not riding very much. (And the gravel bike rotor had less than 750 miles on it.) What really bothers me is that over the years I replaced multiple components here. When they replaced those 10 year old components they returned them 100% of the time without fail. The two times they replaced very new DuraAce components, they misplaced them both times. I wish the owner well. I'd suggest to the owner that's it's probably more important for them to return newer parts that they replace than older and that he put controls in place to make sure that happens. I would still recommend you go somewhere else depending on your kit based on my experience. read more

The kind folks at Edge and Spoke have my heart. We rented ski gear for our middle school son who's never skied (and my husband and I arent skiers, sadly! So we have no idea what we're doing ). Our son is doing ski club with his school and the crew at Edge and Spoke were so patient, helping us fit him with boots and skis early in the season. And THEN, today, we had a horrifying screw-up where we discovered on the first day of ski school that our son's feet had grown a size in the last month since we rented the boots. We raced over to the shop before the bus left the school and two employees hurriedly helped us re-fit our kid and get us out the door. I am a novice bike rider with some trouble with the cycle chain and I went in asking for a "Tune-up" to get it fixed. The guy there first offered to take a look at the bike , then decide what needs to be done. He fixed the chain , reset the brake a bit for no charge and asked me if I was having trouble with my bike - which I didn't because I hadn't ridden it in a while . He said everything looked good and he would be happy to do a Tune-up which would be expensive, but the bike didn't need one. They could have easily taken me for a ride - which they didn't. Respect them for that. And the service was fast. read more

Got fitted for some Ski boots here after trying at Proski where no one offered any help. Vinny (sp?) hooked me up with some well fitting heat molded boots and did a great job explaining the fit and how they could be further adjusted if needed after I tried them on the slopes. I did indeed need some adjustment due to my extra wide feet and when I came back it was a quick and hassle free service. I'd definitely recommend coming here for boot fitting especially if you are just getting out of using rentals. read more

What quickly struck me after I went and visited Edge & Spoke was the fact that the people there knew bikes and cycling. I told friends of mine to go to the shop to find their first bike, and they decided to go visit two other stores before finally going to E&S. They told me they ended up purchasing a Ruby & Roubaix from Edge & Spoke because Jack clearly knew more than any of the people they'd spoken to at other shops. That speaks volumes to me about the quality and care provided by the staff there, and I'm sure they would've had the same experience with anyone else in the shop. I first started riding last July and have always been told how important a bike fit is, but over 12,000 miles of riding I've never made the time to get one. That finally changed this morning when Jack fit me at Edge & Spoke. Quick summary of the fit: after taking measurements and checking my flexibility off the bike, Jack found out my right leg is shorter than my left. Once I got on the bike, he identified my knee angles were less-than-optimal and my knees tended to collapse in on my pedal stroke. He lowered my seat, put wedges in the forefoot of my shoes to adjust my foot angle (and thus knee angle), and added a shim to my right cleat to account for leg length discrepancy. I thought it'd take a while for my body to adjust to the changes, but on the commute home from work today, I couldn't help but think about how incredibly comfortable I felt on the bike. I wasn't necessarily uncomfortable before, but I know riding definitely didn't feel as good as it does now. If you haven't gotten a fit yet or it's been a while since you had one, I HIGHLY recommend going to Jack at Edge & Spoke to get fit. All the guys in the store are fantastic to work with. They've always called and verified service if they find anything and returned any replaced parts. Got back into skiing this year and staff was amazing getting me fitted for boots. It's incredible to have real experts fit and help you get the right gear. I was going to buy my skis online, but found Edge and Spoke prices competitive and staff helped steer me in the right direction. They have been extremely busy this year, the staff is always hustling and they still take the time and patience to treat you with respect (whether your an expert or a beginner). Matt really goes above and beyond to ensure my feet are happy in my ski boots. I really enjoy that the whole staff seemed interested in getting me the gear suited best for me instead of just trying to check off another sale.
