Always knowledgeable and accommodating, they're also some of the nicest bike shop employees to boot! DONT BUY ANY bike accessories!! High cost and crappy support. Recently purchased a light combo at this store. After my first ride, the charge went out quickly approx 3:30minutes in lowest mode vs expected 30 hrs claim when they did in their sales pitch. Since the return was two days old I went with original packing and receipt. The guy at the store was completely rude and argued he needs to test in case he is satisfied that lights are faulty he will speak with the dealer for replacement. ( Takes 5 - 10 days ) . He was not ready for exchange or store credit. when I pulled the return policy they mentioned it is not applicable. Prices are high (actual cost for the light combo in REI and AMAZON is 60$ whereas I spent 83$ ) with no support. Please don't waste your time and energy. read more

This is for the bicycle shop at the Microsoft Commons. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful when I purchased my bicycle. I came by several times looking at the bike and eventually made the purchase. I don't get the bad reviews. That seems like a good bike shop to me. I'll be back in. I've been cycling a long time on road or off road and commuting (15 years commuting , 17 years mtb, have done century rides , etc). ----------------- Update 10/26/2018 ----------------- Upgrading to five stars. I arrived with no appointment... The hub on the Cannondale I purchased here in January got a little loose after about 1300 miles. I noticed this when cleaning my chain.. These very friendly guys fixed it up in just a few hours time, including a full tune-up and replacement of my chain. This was easily one of the busiest days of the year for them with the Halloween party going on for the kids. read more

Worked at Microsoft for over 5 years now and between commuting / racing and riding on the weekends I put lots of miles on my bikes. I started going to this shop as matter of convenience since my bike can be worked on without having to go off campus. Over the years I've gotten to know Jeremy and Jim. Often my bike needs to be fixed day if since I depend on it to get home. They are always accommodating and resolve issues day of, unless a part needs to be ordered. I definitely recommend using this shop for a tune up or routine maintenance. read more

I was there yesterday looking for a gravel bike. He took the time to educate me about the Janis that was on display. He was just awesome, answering all questions and offering suggestions to make sure that this bike would be the right one for me. So, I bought the bike yesterday but for reasons totally unrelated to the bike or the excellent service I received from Jeremy, I had to return it today. Well you know how things can go if you return something to a store, and it can be a bit unpleasant. Not so today. Jeremy was polite and upbeat, and gave me no grief at all about returning the bike (despite the fact that he spent so much time with me yesterday). Long and short of it is that the experience I had with Jeremy and your store was so positive that there is no doubt that I will return when the time is right to buy a bike for me and also one for my wife. At the end of my Microsoft internship I shipped my bike with Eastside Ski & Sport. I gave them the bike, paid $175, and then they simply forgot to ship it. I inquired after 2 weeks, and then they finally sent it with UPS ground. The least they could have done is air ship it. I also bought the bike+helmet+chain combo, and I had to wait an extra 5 days for the lock. Pretty sketchy place overall. read more

Long time marathoner, first time cyclist. Unfortunately an injury has kept me off the running trail for a little while, and I've been looking for something to do beyond running - maybe even a tri? As such, I was a complete newbie. I knew what I wanted. I wanted a bike that would be a good entry level bike, one that I could use as a commuter, and one that I could potentially race on. But I didn't know much about anything beyond that. Over several trips the staff here answered every one of my rookie questions, gave me a lot of advice, and put me through the paces on several bikes. They listened to my feedback, pointed me in different directions, and finally settled on a brand new Felt bike that I just love! Once I get more miles on this bike and am ready to make the plunge into tris this will be the place I'll come to get the next bike. read more

I bought a bike from Eastside Ski & Sport this past winter. I haven't ridden a bike in a decade, and they were helpful in the process of finding and picking out a bike that fit my needs, getting it tuned up and out the door. Then, just 4 months later, I managed to crash the bike in a sudden downpour. Oops. Luckily, the good people at Eastside were able to get the bike repaired good as new for a good price (I needed a new rear derailer and front brakes). I was going to buy the parts on Amazon and attempt to install them myself, but it was actually cheaper here, and I'm sure they did a better job on the repairs than I would have. The bike was fixed faster than the bruise on my elbow healed! I definitely recommend them. I'm certainly no bike expert, but for me, I really couldn't have asked for much else. read more

Looked for new tires to replace my current tires. They didn't carry the ones I needed, so they custom ordered. The tires they picked are too tight for me to be able to change a flat tire, so now I have to bring the bike in and pay someone to do it. Will not buy parts from here again. read more

There was creaking sound in my bike when I pedal and I brought it here. The store person told me that BB needed to be replaced. I was okay with that and it was still okay that I had to wait for more than 2 weeks to replace my BB. I paid $80 for that and it's still okay. What I was not okay was that there was still creaking sound and it could be reproduced easily just by pushing pedal. What I asked was to resolve the problem, which is creaking sound. Pats replacement is just one of many possible ways to resolve the problem. The even didn't do the very easy step to make sure the problem was resolved. I thought the didn't understand what is their job. If they think their job is just selling parts and charge labor, I will not return this shop. I gave second chance to them to investigate cause of problem and fix it. Let's see what happens in coming week. UPDATED They failed to meet my least expectation again. I picked up my bike two weeks later. The problem was not fully fixed and it couldn't be because of sand in frame according to them. It was okay. What was not okay was when I test ride, front derailleur was completely misaligned and couldn't change front gear at all. I reported the issue and they told me that Di2 adjusts automatically and there was nothing they could do to fix it. They also told me it was because my Di2 firmware was old. They told me just a false things to expel their customer to avoid additional work. They also didn't check everything was okay after they did some work again. I just gave up with them. I don't trust whatever they say. I don't trust their technical level and honesty any more. I just throw $90 away. I'll bring my bike to another shop. read more

Having worked at Microsoft for more than a year, I've always walked pass this shiny bike store. Earlier this summer I bought a new bike from them. They put together the bike for me, everything was fine. Uneventful. Two weeks later, my other bike had some shifting issue. I figured I should bring it in and had them check it out. First, they were located just a few steps from my office. Second, I wanted to be their repeat customer. Here's how the episode rolled: Me: I need you to take a look at the shifter on my bike. Store person: That's if you are assuming we have time to do that for you. Me: [trying to recover...] Can I leave it here with you? Store person: The earliest I can look at it is [three weeks from today]. Me: That's crazy! Store person: [showing me the bikes in their racks] Look over there, these are all customer bikes we need to look at. Me: Oh well. Nev mind, I will bring it to other store. Store person: [trying to be chatty] Blah blah blah.. Me: Bye. I called Edge and Spoke and they said, "Come on by, we'll check it out for you." Not only they fixed the bike for me 2 days later but they also walked me through why I was having the issue. Well, Eastside S&S, you could have said, "We are busy but we can take a look at it for you." May be the person was having a bad day... May be their business was indeed doing awesomely good and don't care about losing just a customer. Well. You had it, but lost your mojo. read more

Before purchassing an item I've checked them if I could return (NOT exchange). And I tried it at home and it didn't fit. On the next day morning I could get only store credit. They insisted I can only get exchange or store credit. I have this experience with a store in MS commons. They made a bad impression with this small thing. read more

The staff was helpful in picking out bikes for me and my wife. I'm happy with the bikes. Some problems came in ordering a car rack and other items after the bikes arrived due to a lack of organization at the shop but the biggest issue I have is that, even after I spent well over $2,000 with them, they declined to switch out a chain lock that I had purchased two weeks earlier. I damaged the lock when it came in contact with my rear tire going down a steep grade. The salesperson who sold me the bikes refused to replace the lock because it was not a manufacturer defect. I understand the policy but, from now on I'll purchase from REI, Costco, or Amazon where there are no questions asked on returns in the first 30 days. read more

Shoddy work and poor customer service means don't bother going here for any service. Just picked up 2 pairs of skis dropped off for simple service: One pair for Minor scraping of edges for minor rust and 2 hand waxes. Charged me $50 and did really poor work. Edges, bases and tops of both sets of sets of skis had big clumps of wax. Tops of skis had tons of wax shavings stuck to skis (the skis were clean when dropped off). As I was standing there scraping off all the excess wax, a younger employee sees me and says, "I didn't do those pairs cause I wouldn't have left them looking like that." After I kept working on the skis at the counter and complained about it twice, he finally offered to clean them down for me with a bit of an annoyed tone. I just took the skis and began to walk out and he sarcastically said, "Have a nice day Sir." The owner knows who I am, so if he calls me to make this right I will post an update. read more
