On a very hot (triple digit) recent Saturday afternoon my air conditioner stopped working. It didn't take long for the inside temperature to get very uncomfortable. Meanwhile, I was calling HVAC repair companies that I was familiar with. The five that I called were either booked solid or they do not work weekends. Fortunately, one of them suggested I call Miller Climate Control, which I did. Chris Miller, the owner, was covering calls that Saturday. He politely explained to me that he was booked into the evening but if I could wait, he would stop by around 9:00 or 10:00. Over the years I have not had the best experiences with punctuality of contractors, but under the circumstances I agreed to wait for him. Chris arrived at 9:45 - well after dark - but certainly in the time he promised. He immediately got to work and diagnosed that a "capacitor" had failed and that another component was near failure. He had the necessary replacement parts in his truck, and he installed them quickly. He was polite, efficient, and clearly knowledgeable. I appreciated that he explained to me what he was doing as he worked, and that he showed me the failed parts. Based on this experience, I highly recommend Miller Climate Control. read more

Miller Climate Control performed an emergency call at 6:15 pm on Sunday evening as our Air Conditioning unit shut down. Chris Miller inspected the A/C system and determined that the unit shut down due to the condensate float switch being activated. Our condensate drain was badly clogged and Chris cleared the clog using a high pressure tank. Cost to us for this Sunday evening emergency call was $0.00 as we are members of the Miller Climate Control Diamond M Club & no parts were needed. I am sure there are varying circumstances that may require fees for parts etc. , but just knowing he was here on a Sunday evening and we did not have to sleep in a hot house was amazing. Miller Climate Control (MCC) did work for us 2x times lately. First they helped us swap out a bad control board on furnace. They did a GREAT job working with our DIFFICULT home warranty company. Then, they helped us with A/C units that were failing. They replaced thermostats, upstairs coils, & gave us temporary cooling while we waited the additional 3 months for Lennox to deliver our new outdoor units. They gave us GREAT guidance on what cooling our home needed, and when I selected a unit 1 "grade above" what they recommended they haggled with me about a lower cost system with 2 units being able to do the job. They ultimately agreed that the variable speed units would be the most energy efficient & quiet, despite some extra cost.During the "wait" MCC team was very gracious & communicative. They did a good job with updates from Lennox & the distributor during the LONG pandemic delays. Their installation crews were courteous, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. They actually even RE-positioned the orientation of the units after installing them as I didn't like the way they looked. They were a JOY to do business with. Our AC went out at the very beginning of the Austin heat wave. We originally worked with our home warranty program and they initially scheduled another contractor to come do the inspection, but no one came. We tried to get in touch with the contractor for the next two days only to find out he was no longer working with our home warranty. After calling the home warranty company they got me in touch with Chris at Miller Climate Control, and these came out the same day to see what the issue was. Remember, this is during the heat wave so the AC calls were pilling up. On multiple occasions these guys have come after hours to help fix issues or even loan a portable AC unit to keep my house cool while we waited on the home warranty company to order the correct parts. When I decided I had enough of waiting on the home warranty guys to get it right I asked Chris if he could install a new unit and he had it completed the next day. It doesn't matter how good a contractor is, issues can happen. With Miller Climate Control, I know that the installation and repair will be professionally done and if there is an issue, they are going to do everything they can to get it right. read more

Chris and Jason were fantastic. From the moment I called to report a problem with AC system, Chris listened to me explain my situation very attentively, and while I vented my frustration (no pun intended) at my home warranty company and the contract technician they sent. What started as a possible freon leak with icing evaporator coil (per the first technician) turned out to be an electrical problem with one of the air handler heating elements. The problem was quickly and methodically diagnosed by Chris and Jason by working as a team and confirming potential electrical problem with a third technician over the phone. No doubt my older system is running on borrowed time and will be in need of additional maintenance, however it certainly was not leaking or in need of an evaporator coil as first diagnosed. Thanks to the expert troubleshooting and honest service from Miller Climate Control, my house is cool again and I can sleep easy knowing I will not have to spring for a new system any time soon (fingers crossed). Our AC went out on May 4th and we contacted another company to fix under warranty. We were told parts were in back order until the end of May. End of May came and they said backorder to end of June. Again we waited and then July came with no repair. Tried reaching out and no response. I looked on next door for any recommendations. I saw Chris Miller with Miller AC and he had great comments. Well I called him and he didn't disappoint. In one week not only did he have our backorder past the other company get in his possession, he had it installed the very next day! And 200 cheaper as well! Chris and his team did an outstanding job. Because he knew I had been without ac for over 2 months, he must have felt for me because he went way above and beyond. We returned from a summer vacation to discover that our AC system had gone out. We weren't surprised as the system was 14 years old and we had previously called a couple of companies to get a quote on a replacement unit. We called Miller Climate Control and were relieved that Mr. Miller was able to come by that day and inspect the system, explain what we already suspected and give us options and prices. (The prices he quoted were similar to/slightly lower than our previous quote.) And he was able to replace the system the next day! What a relief to have it done without the headaches we expected. As nearly always happens, on the hottest day of the year to date, our AC decided to not blow cool air. Never mind this was the Friday, July 3, before a holiday. Never mind this happened at 8:00 p.m. As soon as I called Chris with Miller Climate Control (interrupting his dinner), he was on it. He was at our house in 30 minutes to check things out. Because of a weird power surge, something caused our system to malfunction, but after turning the system off for those 30 minutes, then back on again, things started to work properly. So, no major repairs needed. Chris was as gracious and kind as could be. I also very much appreciated his wearing a mask when he came inside. Chris and his team were exceptional. My AC went out three weeks ago and my warranty company sent two different contractors to "fix" it. Neither one did, and the 2nd company did damage. When it went out again last week and died, Chris was there within an hour and a half of my call, gave us temporary cooling, and managed to deal with a warranty company - not an easy task. My AC was dead, not fixable and we now have a new operational unit. He always answered the phone, was here when he said he would be, his team did a great job and cleaned up, and were courteous. I came home from work one Thurs. evening in June and the inside temp was 83°. I'm thankful that my house is shaded from the sun most of the day or it would've been worse. I got some recs from friends around 7:30 pm. As I began calling, mo one could come out until Monday. I have an elder parent living with me so that would not work. When I called Miller Climate and spoke with the owner he said he could come out that evening. Needless to say... he's my hero.... because he came out, diagnosed and fixed the issue with a colleague. I don't usually take the time to write a review about any business, but Miller Climate Control deserves this one. I bought a new A/C unit 6 years ago from another company. I started to have problems with it 2 years ago. I had the A/C company I bought it from come out to try to fix it on several occasions with no positive results. Before looking for someone to come out, I took the time to look on yelp for a New A/C company and saw all the positive reviews. I called Miller and they came out with in a couple of hours. Chris was amazing. I called late on a Saturday morning because my AC was running but not cooling to see if there was any way he could come out to see if he could take a look/fix the problem. Without hesitation he said he could come later that day. He called me when he was on his way and when he arrived was able to find and fix the problem quickly and easily! Chris Miller is truly TERRIFIC! Our A/C quit blowing cold air on Monday just before 5 pm. My husband has serious health problems and a hot house would be a big problem, so I needed someone to come out quickly. I called several companies, but no one could come out to look at our unit.; that is, until I talked to Chris Miller. These guys were prompt, polite, and professional. They showed up when they said they would, explained the issues with our A/C unit clearly and simply, and did not make any promises they couldn't keep. The part we needed was not readily available, so they brought over a portable a/c unit to help alleviate the heat while they had the part overnighted. An A/C unit going out in August... in Texas... could have been a nightmare. These guys made sure that we were as comfortable as possible while they worked quickly to get our unit up and running.
