Everytime I come here I get the same waitress who is just an angel! I came today 2/10 for my birthday and again got the same waitress. How she serves the whole restaurant is beyond words, management should seriously consider hiring someone to help the girl! But even running in circles she's clearly a pro at customer service! I love the ambiance and aesthetic of each room and the food is lovely. I recommend the Cacio e Pepe ai Gamberoni, can't go wrong! They do NOT skimp on the shrimps! Also the get the octopus, sometimes a little tuff but the flavor is all there! (Please excuse my bad photos!)

We went to this spot to celebrate my baby arrival with my girls, we loved the atmosphere and how chilled the spot was!! The inside is so rustic and filled with books and we sat outside enjoying the spring vibes. Food was good we went during brunch and ordered something small. We had some mocktails and were so delicious. Service was excellent!

There are certain places you find yourself returning to without needing a reason, and Milk & Roses became exactly that for me. Tucked away in Greenpoint, it's a space I've visited across different moments--once for a slow brunch with a friend, another time for a late lunch with a group, and again for a more intimate coffee date. Each visit carried a slightly different rhythm, yet the feeling remained the same: calm, familiar, and quietly indulgent. Among everything I tried, the Cacio e Pepe ai Gamberoni stood out in a way few dishes do. Rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying, it's easily one of my favorite Italian dishes I've had in Brooklyn. The pecorino cream wrapped itself around the prawns beautifully, creating a balance that felt both comforting and elevated. It's the kind of dish you find yourself thinking about long after you've left. I also tried their Spaghetti Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino on another visit--simple, well-executed, and enjoyable, though it never quite reached the same level as the prawn pasta. On the quieter visits, I kept things simple with a flat white, which was smooth, rich, and well-balanced--exactly what you want when settling into a long conversation or a slow afternoon. But what truly defines Milk & Roses is its atmosphere. The interior feels like stepping into a private library hidden within a European home--lined with bookshelves, layered with warm wood tones, and softened by natural light that filters in gently throughout the day. There's a classical elegance to it, almost old-world in spirit, yet never overwhelming. It invites you to sit a little longer, to slow down, to exist within the space rather than pass through it. And then there is the garden. The backyard patio feels almost cinematic--anchored by a delicate white blossom tree, surrounded by greenery, and framed in a way that creates both openness and intimacy at once. It's the kind of setting that transforms a simple meal into something more memorable, where conversations stretch effortlessly and time feels slightly suspended. We were served by Mariami, who was warm, attentive, and gracious throughout, adding to the ease of the experience without ever intruding on it. Milk & Roses is not just a restaurant--it's an atmosphere, a rhythm, a place that meets you differently each time you return. It's somewhere I'll continue to revisit, whether for a meal, a coffee, or simply the quiet comfort it so effortlessly provides.

They serve topless mimosa!! Their shakshouka with eggs were delicious according to other people sitting w/ me. We also had Greek yogurt w/ fruits and oats and it was delightful! I had farmers egg meal and it was great. The ambiance was superb!!! The server was very pleasant.

Dined alone the first time for a Sunday brunch and it was great. Then.... Flew back from CA to take my daughter for brunch and was told we couldn't dine inside because of her little dog. We let the hostess know it was a service animal and we had documentation. She stated it was the management, not her, that had the rule. We mentioned she was a psychiatric service animal and I mentioned "it's there a law against this?" Hostess offered an outside table. Not wanting to cause a scene, we went outside to empty tables facing a large green rubbish bin. Meh. They brought our table water and we shortly decided to leave. It wasn't worth feeling this way when we came so far. Nor worth patronizing. It was a one hit wonder. We were happier at Leroy's, Greenpoint.

Drinks were really good. Food was good too especially the short rib, so was the service. We came here on a Friday night and it wasn't that busy.

The food was just okay. Don't expect anything too grand or unique tasting. The service was good, and the staff was kind to us. I don't think I'd return.

Beautiful ambiance, they have a great backyard and pay attention to detail with the decor. Went for brunch and while the portion sizes are a bit small, the food is great although pricy. Ordered the peanut butter and jelly French toast which was really good and egg panini sandwich. Sides are additional if you want to add fries. Amazing service also, no wait time to be seated and were very accommodating when we wanted to change tables.

Overall rating: 4.3 I saw this online and loved the decor. I went for brunch with a friend and was able to sit down immediately. My friend and I sat in the front and do we regret it. The service was non-existent. It was definitely very busy for only 3 waitresses including a hostess & bartender. Towards, mid-way through - we got an actual waitress and service picked itself up. We ordered a second time & got our food easily. I'd love to go ahead for maybe lunch or dinner. The outside space looked beautiful.

The food is wonderful and the ambiance is super chill and rare to find in New York City. Best pasta and super quant unique spot that is always great.

The ambiance of this place is awesome. On a nice day, sitting outside in the garden and eating is a great experience. The last time I went, they had bug spray for those who might not like sitting outside because they get bit. I never got bit. I did use the spray. The short rib pasta was great. The octopus was also very good. Both were plated very nicely. The place is cash only. There is an atm.

Visited on a Friday. Came early and there was no line and no wait. The place is beautiful and cozy. Inside and outdoor, it was even hard to chose where to sit because of it. Eventually me and my friend decided to sit outside (under the closed too area). Our server gave us attitude for trying to change the table, she said she won't be able to serve us because it was about to rain. But we were like, the place has a cover and there was 0% chance of rain. Then she rolled her eyes and seated us outdoor. The food was ok, but nothing extraordinary. The ambiance is great for sure! It's beautiful and romantic outdoor. So I definitely recommend, but the menu is very limited. Not many options. Perhaps brunch has better options ‍

    More seating!

    Are they vegetarian friendly?

Not on the least. I have not eaten meat in over 20 years and they fail to notify the customers that all vegetarian options have been cooked in the pans and surfaces that the meats are.

What a cool concept, a Michelin quality tasting menu at a secret location!…read more I recently discovered this group via Instagram, their menu is always rotating but the price was really good for NYC - 6 courses for $130 (which includes, tax, tip, and wine pairings)! Since the concept was so interesting and the pricing was really good, I decided to give it a try and booked a reservation for 2 people for a Saturday night dinner. Following my booking, I was emailed instructions for location a few hours later as well as what to expect. The dining location for my dinner was in a rectory house, which still serves priests! It was a bit of a trek to find but it's a fun part of the experience :) The food: each of the six courses were served in timely cadence and I really appreciated that the chef offered such a thorough explanation of each dish both from the ingredients perspective as well as the inspiration behind it. The entire meal was also paired with 4 drinks, one cocktail and 3 wines, which was included in the total price of the tasting menu already. My favorites: -dragonfruit granite: this was a refresher between the "apps" and the "main courses" dishes, the colors were so vibrant and the flavors were nice and cool, great way to cleanse the palate before the heavy meat dish -hamachi crudo: this actually reminded me of ceviche, which is one of my favorite things to eat. The sauce was particularly yummy, it had just the right mix of creaminess that was complemented by the zesty-ness of the lime Overall, really enjoyed this unique dining experience. The food was yummy, the chefs were super fun and the price was a great value! Would definitely recommend dining with Chez Nous :) p.s. The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

This place was the winner, and it was everyone's first time. We got in at our reserved time, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before our table was ready. Once it was, we were taken care of and quite frankly had no idea what treat we were in for! Let's start with the drinks. They have a drink on the menu called Celadon City. Who won the staff as a pokémaniac?! I had to get it just for the name. The rice vodka, yuzu, melon liqueur, and other flavors made it a fantastic, summery drink. My friends got the Smooth Landing & Smooth Talker ... One was a fantastic dirty martini and the other had the best bite of ginger. The food... Oh my God. We decided to split the breads and spreads and burrata... Each came with their housemade grilled focaccia, and the smoked paprika hummus and ricotta with chili honey? WHEW! The burrata dish with the sweet potato, pesto and tomato jam was a hit too. The menu didn't even say I'd have a balsamic drizzle on top! All of that was just the warm up... My gnocchi dish was spectacular. I'm not even a big mushroom person, but those oyster mushrooms and charred kale were a hit in the pasta. My friends' gigli pasta and mussels were great too. We ended up sharing a bottle of white wine as well, and the dinner was truly a 5/5. 0 I would absolutely go back, and it seems like their menu changes every now and then. I'm looking forward to the next time! Even if it's just for a cocktail.
