Fantastic experience! Looking forward to old school personal whiskey tour and tasting. Brenda is phenomenal and made the tour entertaining for all including the two members in our group that don't drink whiskey. We also enjoyed cocktails after the tour and relaxed at the picnic tables with a live local band. Staff is helpful and educational with no pretense. We had the sampler whiskey to start.. ended up liking the medium strong whiskey at 108 in strength. Service was excellent, family owned and operated... I even got some free chips on the house! Went to Milam & Greene on a Monday. They have free parking and lots of places to sit outside under large trees. We decided to sit inside where there is AC. We walked inside and we were greeted by an employee. She told us a bit about the whiskey and the price of things. We decided to split a flight of whiskey and glad we did. Inside the place is small and cozy. It feels like a den, dark with big chairs. Giving it 3 stars as the whiskey was not for me, the employee just served us and took our money, she did no more than was needed. I recommend you go and try it for yourself. read more

I'd place this whiskey up against the major Scotch brands any day, and at the price point, you cannot beat it. The staff were nice and greeted us upon entry, although it was extremely busy inside, but the staff seemed to handle it well. The downside to Milam & Greene is their tasting room/bar space. They've obviously outgrown it and they need to expand. We definitely felt cramped and had trouble finding a place to sit initially. There was an outdoor space sitting area, however it was blazing hot and a live band was warming up. We didn't stick around for the band because they are always too loud. In short - Milam & Greene has world class whiskey that should be on every bar counter, but they need to expand and update their bar/tasting room. read more

We went to their grand reopening yesterday with a few friends and had a great time. They were doing flights of bourbon, bottles to go, and also about 12 different mixed drinks. I had a whiskey sour and an old fashioned and both were great. Of all the neat bourbons, triple cask was my favorite and i bought a bottle to go for $45 (great deal!). We met the operations manager and an owner and everyone on the staff was great. They are probably my favorite bourbon from TX. read more

This place is definitely more of a bar vibe vs a distillery, I told the lady we had never been there so we wanted to try thier whiskey. No explanation of the whiskey was offered just "here is the menu let me know what you want." The ONLY reason for 4 stars is the whiskey was very tasty and reasonable prices, service wasn't bad but I'd expect more coming to the actual distillery. read more

This is usually our first stop on our way to a wine weekend in the Fredricksburg area. It's a perfect start for the trip. You can expect a small but powerful cocktail menu featuring M&G Whiskey. While driving through the area to our destination, we found this gem. We decided to stop in and visit and we're not disappointed. The entrance can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Once you turn in, there isn't much parking and the entrance is tucked in the back off the road. When we got there, the staff were in the bottling area filling, sealing and packaging fresh bottles. The four of us walked in ready to have a great time and were met by an employee who was rude and looked bored. We asked some questions about the place and whiskey and she just gave use one word answers. She actually seemed angry we were there. She walked out of the serving room twice without a word so we left. Also, signs all around that smoking is not allowed but one of the employees was standing in front of the building smoking. I was in Blanco camping at the state park right before Christmas. I was drinking eggnog at another distillery in the area with my wife and friends when my buddy, John, mentioned they were stopping here on the way back to camp, as well. When arrived, we were welcomed by a very friendly young man. We sampled all of the products on hand. I was blown away by the full-flavored taste of the gin that they only sell on the property. It is like sipping the essence of a hike through a juniper forest. I have never experienced anything like it. It is destined to be my favorite late night sipping beverage. I left the distillery with a bottle of Ben Milam Barrel Proof Bourbon and a bottle of Provision Distiller's Gin. I've been sipping on them ever since. I will definitely be back for more! read more

Great spot if you get there early enough. If the restaurant/dining hall isn't opened the seating is very minimal inside. They have some outside seating but not great of the weather isn't cooperating. The black walnut and pecan old fashioned are both amazing. read more

Great little distillery that I expect will be going places before you know it. It is fairly new and doesn't have much business, but I don't expect that to last too long. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting room is small, but quaint. Their single barrel bourbon is smooth and subtle. It was our favorite whiskey of the day (we were on a self guided distillery tour). The tasting was $5 for two. Definitely also the cheapest tasting fee of the day. If in Blanco, don't miss out in trying this whiskey out. You may just find yourself a new favorite spirit. read more

Driving through Blanco last week and I've always noticed the road sign but I haven't stopped in before. Check them on Yelp and Google and couldn't find much info, so what the hell, turned around to check in out for myself. First thing I noticed was the large shade tree, several chairs, and lush grass. I could just see me and a group of friends sitting there having a few drinks and enjoying the cooler fall temperatures because here in South Texas 91 degrees in November is just that, cool Fall. I'm having a hard time getting used to that. Inside is a small tasting room that is put together nicely. The guy working the counter could have been a little nicer. He was busy taking in inventory and obviously working but I'd like to have heard about their process, why are they better than other distilleries in the area, what sets them apart? Who is Ben Milam, I asked and he said it was the grandfather of the owner. I know who Ben Milam was, and that is a leading figure of the Texas Revolution. I'm not a Texan but I am a history buff and there is a lot to know of Ben Milam and he's great a cool story. I purchased a flight and a bottle, roughly $56 for both. At least pretend that you care a little bit more. The bottle I took home, it was, and I say WAS fantastic. Unfortunately, Game 7 of the Houston/Dodgers game was a little stressful and the wife and I put a huge dent in the bottle on the first night. Ha! I now have to go back and pick up another, darn. We finally made our way to Blanco to stop in here. In the past I've brought home Milam & Greene Triple Cask Bourbon from our local liquor store, and enjoyed it. While at the distillery we first tried the flight, then moved to a pour of Single Barrel neat, while my wife enjoyed a Old Fashioned.
