Great winery to stop into! I love that it's not all the way in Fredericksburg. The staff was super knowledgeable. We had a tasting and the wine was good I will say the Malbec was delicious! I also appreciated that they had a refill fountain for my Stanley for the ride home!

Siboney vineyards is a must visit winery if you come to Texas wine country! We had just come the day before for their tasting and tour, and saw that they were ringing in the new year with live music and oysters so we had to come back! Pictured: glass of Petit Verdot and Sauvignon Blanc with oysters and caviar. The guitarists were amazing and we enjoyed sitting in their barrel room. Scott served us both days and we loved his engaging and easygoing style - he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the wines. And he set us up to make some smores (I think the smores station is just for the holidays tho). Perfect service! We felt that the tasting and tour were a tremendous value because we were able to meet the owners, Miguel and his wife Barbara (who is also the wine maker!). They told us stories about how Siboney was created (the meaning behind the name is really cool too) and about their future plans. Just a treat to be able to talk to creators/entrepreneurs - but I'm not sure they're always available to give tours lol. This wouldn't be a 5-star review if their wines weren't top notch - and they most definitely are. Along w the Petit Verdot we also liked the Coral Rose and Quatre Rouges the best. And the charcuterie board to accompany the wine tasting is unique and delicious (2 types of chorizo, candied papaya, dried blueberries, a warm roll along with the usual meats and cheeses). I highly recommend a visit to Siboney is you are in Fredricksburg or even San Antonio or Austin!

This was the best way to end a long day of wine tasting. Tyler was absolutely phenomenal, thoroughly explaining the wines and then telling these great back stories. Then when we thought it couldn't get any better, he took us on a quick tour of the place. The wine was good, cigars half the price I normally pay and probably better quality and staff was super friendly.

Modern, sleek, but very inviting. Parking: ample, plenty of it Service: very friendly and attentive. A bachelorette party bus came ten minutes before closing and they still allowed them to come in and order! Wines: really great! Was impressed. Winery: named after a Cuban song! Private events: yes, and you can become a wine member to go to the two story bar in their barrel room! Outside patio: yes, and it has fans and a firepit. They also have blankets to keep you warm.

Stopped here on a whim of a day trip & so glad we did! First of all, the drive up and the exterior of the building is JAW DROPPING. They did it right!! Ample parking, and overflow parking. But for a Sunday afternoon it wasn't crazy. We walked inside and got set up for a wine tasting for 2, it was $25 a person. All of the wines are fantastic but the stories behind each wines name are so magical. Our server was fantastic on storytelling and showing us around for a good time. We will definitely be back to visit (maybe even as members ;))

The wines are the great. Coming from California we have definite opinions about wine and everything we've tasted here is good. Service is great as well, very friendly and you feel at home. Dog and kid friendly too! Just a great ambiance and environment.

So my girls and I took a much-needed day off today and while enjoying brunch in SA decided on to take a spur-of-the-moment jaunt to the hill country for some wine. We chose Siboney for the cigar and wine pairing, which is pretty unique. What a fantastic decision!! The vibe there is amazing. Chill, relaxing and perfect for what we needed today. Wendy was AMAZING! Her stories about the owners of the Vinyard were so engaging. She was super knowledgeable and attentive and gave great (and oddly but awesomely specific) wine-food pairing recommendations. Owner Miguel "Travis' came and educated us on the cigar/wine pairing and was spot on with his recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed the Connecticut cigar and Travis red wine blend pairing. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Oh and the sandwich ya'll... it was SOOO deeeelish. Yuuummmyyy. I can just imagine that it's super sexy on that outdoor patio after sunset too. I will definitely return -- with my boyfriend!

charcuterie perfectly pairs with the wine!

What an amazing experience and great wines to taste by the glass...and buy bottles for enjoying at home! A charcuterie board tops the entire experience off...love the owner that greeted me when I arrived and all the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and brings the vineyard to life!

Mr. Crowson (the father of Henry Crowson - the owner and winemaker, who might be a co-owner but is definitely very involved at the winery) welcome us in for a wine tasting. Since we were the only people there, it ended up being a very private, personal experience! Mr. Crowson tried the wines with us and talked to us about each. He also told us about the Crowson's non-interventionist approach to winemaking. If you enjoy or are interested in natural wine, low/no intervention wine, orange wine, or any other term that's being used right now, Crowson should definitely be on your list for a day or weekend of wine tasting in the 290/Fredericksburg/Johnson City area! (I am a fan of the low/no intervention movement, and I knew I wanted to visit Crowson when we were in the area! It's the most natural/low-intervention of all wineries in the area that I am aware of!) The wines we tasted were interesting and delicious and varied (not a tasting where all the wines take remarkably similar). The space is charming, beautiful, and very comfortable, and Mr. Crowson played some great records during our visit which added even more fun to the experience! And of course, the customer service couldn't get better than a personal tasting with Mr. Crowson, who made this a very special visit. This is a smaller winery, so I recommend you reach out to them to schedule a visit, so you can be sure they are there and open. Because you don't want to a miss a visit to this very special winery.

Crowson came highly recommended from our friend who lives in Austin, so we made a reservation for 6 people on a Saturday for a wine tasting. They are taking Covid precautions, everything was socially distanced, our tasting was outside (and thankfully they had heaters so we were quite nice and warm), and everyone was wearing masks! The wine was absolutely delicious and we all loved the wine we had here. One of only two places in Texas that has natural wines (nothing added). This is a very cozy, homey, winery- they make you feel so welcome, are very gracious and just a fun time ! Henry and his dad were a delight. Highly recommend this place!

He launched his own wine brand after the birth of his daughter in 2012, Tatum Rose - and thus began the next chapter in his winemaking career. With a focus on single-vineyard and Rhône varietals, Joshua has become well recognized for his quality wine production. Many long-time Texas wine fans will also remember the 2012 Hotspur, with the gorgeous wine label - just might have a bottle or two left in the cellar library! In the beginning, you could find Josh's wines at a few pop-up events which were great to attend and chat with the winemaker as you sampled his small batch produced wines. It has been a very long time coming, but the small boutique winery tasting room in Johnson City is a great addition to this journey. What was once a barbershop (which still has some of that décor) has now become the go-to tasting room for Tatum Cellars in this quaint vintage building in the downtown Johnson City square. There are currently five wines to sample. All wines on the list are currently single vineyard, plus all Texas Hill Country fruit. Production is just around 1000 cases per year, so the hands-on and personal quality checks are all there. The first bottle sampled was the 2023 Trois Étoiles. This classic Rhône style blend was crafted from Uplift Vineyard fruit and is a blend of 63% Marsanne, 21% Viognier and 16% Roussanne. It is well balanced and quite refreshing with notes of stone fruit, good acids, and a bit of minerality. Next to sample, was the 2024 Rosé of Carignane. This newbie on the list was whole cluster pressed from Spicewood Vineyards with a very beautiful nose followed by a crisp and refreshing wine. An ecxcellent wine for warm weather days. Moving to the red wines, the first to sample was the 2020 GSM. Oh my... this mighty beast is loaded with robust flavors, good acids and is very well balanced. The Grenache (60%) was sourced from Uplift Vineyard and the Syrah and Mourvèdre (20% each) came from Salt Lick Vineyards for this super fine GSM. The next red wine sampled was the 2020 Syrah. For this vintage, the fruit was left hanging on the vines longer than normal and it underwent extra maceration and had a "splash" of Mourvèdre added to it. It has very nice smoky notes to it along with natural tannins to dance across your palate for that big mouthfeel satisfaction. Rounding out this fantastic tasting experience was the 2020 Mourvèdre sourced from Salt Lick Vineyards. Sitting at 15.4% abv, this high alcohol wine is well integrated with spicey notes and a touch of nuttiness on the finish. This wine was made with Montepulciano skins as part of the process for a little extra full feel and color for this wine. Everything on the tasting menu is take home worthy. You might also notice the collection of vinyl records in the corner and LP player as you sip and savor both the wines and the music collection. This small tasting room has a well shaded backyard area for that little feel of Hill Country outdoors enjoyment to compliment the classically cool inside décor. As a bonus, they are open till 8pm! You will get the vibe of how this place fits in well with the small town feel that still lingers in Johnson City when you stop in and enjoy a visit. The team is friendly, and the space is hip. It's a great place to sip, relax, and enjoy your favorite record music and wine pairing. Cheers!
