Checked out Siboney Cellars as part of the Wine Lovers celebration Passport. We failed to make reservations but Mark (owner) accommodated us as there was another party about to start their passport wine tasting. We were able to join the group. As we chatted with the other party, we learned that Siboney Cellars makes a delicious Cuban Sandwich. Will definitely come back to give that a try. As part of the Passport wine tasting, we were offered 4 different wines plus a small food pairing including toasted Cuban bread, Spanish Chorizo, Brie, Onion Bacon Jam and homemade Fudge. Everything was delicious and wine so smooth. I don't normally like Rose Wine but Barbara (owner/wine maker) did a great job, for all their wines. We learned a lot about wines and the vineyard during the food and wine tasting. Mark was so informative and a wealth of knowledge. We felt so special during our visit. Even though I have hundreds of bottles of wines at home, I left with 3 bottles. If you have not been, you should definitely stop by. In fact, there will be another Texas Wine passport event in late March to late April. We will definitely come back!! read more

Siboney vineyards is a must visit winery if you come to Texas wine country! We had just come the day before for their tasting and tour, and saw that they were ringing in the new year with live music and oysters so we had to come back! Pictured: glass of Petit Verdot and Sauvignon Blanc with oysters and caviar. The guitarists were amazing and we enjoyed sitting in their barrel room. Scott served us both days and we loved his engaging and easygoing style - he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the wines. And he set us up to make some smores (I think the smores station is just for the holidays tho). Perfect service! We felt that the tasting and tour were a tremendous value because we were able to meet the owners, Miguel and his wife Barbara (who is also the wine maker!). They told us stories about how Siboney was created (the meaning behind the name is really cool too) and about their future plans. Just a treat to be able to talk to creators/entrepreneurs - but I'm not sure they're always available to give tours lol. This wouldn't be a 5-star review if their wines weren't top notch - and they most definitely are. Along w the Petit Verdot we also liked the Coral Rose and Quatre Rouges the best. And the charcuterie board to accompany the wine tasting is unique and delicious (2 types of chorizo, candied papaya, dried blueberries, a warm roll along with the usual meats and cheeses). A bachelorette party bus came ten minutes before closing and they still allowed them to come in and order! Wines: really great! Was impressed. Winery: named after a Cuban song! Stopped here on a whim of a day trip & so glad we did! First of all, the drive up and the exterior of the building is JAW DROPPING. They did it right!! Ample parking, and overflow parking. But for a Sunday afternoon it wasn't crazy. We walked inside and got set up for a wine tasting for 2, it was $25 a person. All of the wines are fantastic but the stories behind each wines name are so magical. Our server was fantastic on storytelling and showing us around for a good time. THE BIG: Right off the 290 wine strip and is a relatively new winery in the area. Beautiful views and tasting room is new w/ a indoor/outdoor component. THE BLACK AND WHITE: My wife and a friend came here on a Sunday afternoon and we loved the christmas decorations all around. As soon as you come in, you peer into the members room and wine storage area. It's like an adult playground. We got three wine tastings and a charcuterie board. The wines were pretty good. Love the story telling of how Siboney was created and its Cuban roots. Fun Fact: Siboney is famous song in Cuba. You request for it to be played. It's quite beautiful. Nearing the end of our tasting, Miguel came over and invited us to check out the wine storage, wine facility and the members only area. All areas are unique and you can see this small batch winery in the making. They didn't skimp out on the equipment and they're doing some interesting techniques. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for a charcuterie board, three tastings, and a bottle of wine was $170. Love the new architecture ambiance and the hospitality Miguel and his team brought. So my girls and I took a much-needed day off today and while enjoying brunch in SA decided on to take a spur-of-the-moment jaunt to the hill country for some wine. We chose Siboney for the cigar and wine pairing, which is pretty unique. What a fantastic decision!! The vibe there is amazing. Chill, relaxing and perfect for what we needed today. Wendy was AMAZING! Her stories about the owners of the Vinyard were so engaging. She was super knowledgeable and attentive and gave great (and oddly but awesomely specific) wine-food pairing recommendations. Owner Miguel "Travis' came and educated us on the cigar/wine pairing and was spot on with his recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed the Connecticut cigar and Travis red wine blend pairing. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Oh and the sandwich ya'll... it was SOOO deeeelish. Yuuummmyyy. I can just imagine that it's super sexy on that outdoor patio after sunset too. Really like the vibe of this place. For members, there is a beautiful cask room downstairs and a lovely piano lounge upstairs. Love their reds- you should try a flight or two. We went here because it was open at 11 am on Sunday and close to Johnson City but will return for sure. *quick not name is pronounced Si-Bone-Ay which is cuban in origin. Meaning lies in each thoughtful detail from the name of the winery, the naming of the wines, their symbol.. I won't share too much as it is such a treat to experience first hand! I am obsessed with their Coral Estrellas Sparkling Rosé made with 100% Sangiovese from the Texas High Plains. After this sabering I am certain I heard "Come quickly, I am tasting the [Texas] stars!" We have visited @siboneycellars twice and truly enjoy hearing first hand the story of, which is truly a love story, Siboney from Winemaker Barbara Lecuona and Miguel Lecuona. I love the design of this modern style vineyard and winery. They definitely thought about it when they put the plan together and thought about the experience their patrons are taking when they walk the property. Probably best to go in October or November when it's a little bit cooler. Texas heat June through September is just a little bit too much especially out in the west part of the Hill country. The wine is good for Texas wine. I don't want to sound too snooty but I think you know what I mean. The views, the building, the property, and the experience is what this winery is all about! read more

What a beautiful winery! Came here for a tasting with my husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law and had such a wonderful time. Our servers were so friendly and approachable and we were able to meet some of the winemakers as well. (Their Rose' is delicious!) We moved outside to sit below the trees and enjoy the view. The wine was just okay, wasn't my kind of tasting. We did a tasting here and tried their top 5 wines. None of them really stood out to where I would buy a bottle. The ambiance here is very nice. It's really pretty view with a cool building and outdoor patio. The customer service was a little bit lacking. I feel like we had a few people who had priority over us. read more

Siboney wine is wonderful The grounds are beautiful. We enjoy going there, but the negative is there is no advantage to being a member. For those that don't live in the area this is not for you. We live out of town we are only able to visit the Vineyard every 4 to 6 months. The wine club membership allows for one glass per month, so for out of town guests there is no benefit for you. You will only receive one complementary glass per six months just not worth it. We have several memberships in the Hill country and enjoy sampling the current wine available, we visit the Vineyards 2 to 3 times during our stay but that is not really an option for this Vineyard. My suggestion is if you are interested in enjoying a your memberships don't do it, go buy a glass of wine on your way into town if you want to membership choose another Vineyard. read more

Siboney Cellars is a very new winery with a gorgeous view of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We got to meet the very charming owners and taste some of their delicious wines. We also got to hear the wonderful story of how Siboney came to be; it's a love story so I won't spoil it for you. If my friend and I didn't already have too many wine club memberships between us, we would have certainly signed up for this one; I hope to join in the future. It's picturesque! I stopped due to a recommendation from another winery as a must see. Visually it's pretty driving up, but it's screams stuffy. It's not my jam. Wine tastings are 25.00 and that seems high. Only good option would be a 40.00 charcuterie board. I can say the staff does a great job on talking about all the wines. I took one bottle of the reds. One of my sons does not drink dry so not many options for those with a sweet wines. They do have clean restrooms. I can at least say Ive been here. read more

We finally ventured to the newest winery to open in Johnson City. We have patiently awaited it's opening and wanted to give it a few weeks before visiting. We shared a bottle of the Coral Estrellas Sparkling Rosé and a charcuterie tray that was better than anticipated. The sparkling wine was great and not overly sweet like a lot of Texas wines tend to be, and the charcuterie had a variety of meats and cheeses, olives, dried fruits and nuts and an added touch was the hot crusty bread served alongside the crackers to enjoy all. The view is beautiful! The terrace overlooking the vineyard is perfect especially on a day like yesterday! Wine, delicious. The owners and stories were delightful. My husband opted for a cigar and his day got even better. Miguel picked a cigar to his liking and when he found out he liked slightly sweet, he brought him some honey alongside. Scott was delightful with his deep voice, knowledge and charm. Barbara is the winemaker who also made her rounds. This is a hardworking woman, folks!! Miguel, Barbara's husband and co-owner, was a delight and told his stories charmingly and with ease. He beams with pride telling the work she has accomplished with the wine, and all of the work they and the other co-owners have put into the winery. We got to meet Mary Anne also, another owner of the property and apparently the reason their vision was able to come to life. I would HIGHLY suggest visiting this beautiful place and sampling their wines. You will walk away a member!! read more
