Most impressively are their selection of bacon and sausage varieties and ground meat types. They also have a nice selection of locally made cured sausages and meats as well, such as prosciutto and prosciuttini. Some of their items are a little spendy, but its to be expected given our location, but other items, such as their 85/15% ground beef is CHEAPER than the grocery store. If that isn't incentive to shop there, I don't know what is.

Finally a bbq place in town that doesn't only rely on its sauce to make it taste good. Previous reviews said the meat was dry - I did not have that experience. It was super good and moist! I ordered the cowboy fries - totally recommend! I almost made the mistake of ordering the fries and a pulled pork sandwich- but happy I did not. The cowboy fries are a meal in themselves! Lots of meat! My partner got the pulled pork combo with two sides. Only complaint was they forgot the cornbread. Super good! Recommend stopping in

But this visit , the bloke who prepared my order ( not one of the usual ladies I'm accustomed to ) ripped me off with a TINY portion. Hardly any pork at all. And a watery tomato sauce that tasted NOTHING like the usual tangy bbq sauce. Truly disappointing and a RIP OFF. Will NOT be wasting money there again, & will advise all my friends to avoid as well.

At Momma O's, we ordered the fried halibut and squid combo with French fries. Unfortunately, the batter was bland, and I could really taste the old oil. It just wasn't very good. Between the two, I would definitely choose 49th State Brewing. Much better food and a nicer overall experience.

(F/Sat/Sun only) When I ordered, I was half-expecting my order to be cancelled! I'll try to make this review a compliment sandwich: We got a combo meal and a brisket combo. The pig meat (pork) was very good: the ribs and the pulled pork were above average. The brisket was A-OK. It was too dry and didn't have enough fat for me. The sides were very very below average. The beans were worse than you'd get out of a can. The coleslaw was dramatically underseasoned. It just tasted like shredded cabbage. The bread was as plain as can be. The only way I can recommend ordering from here is getting meat by the pound. The sides are offensive. I hope they can work on getting better sides, as the meat is decent.

I tried their Georgia mustard sauce and sweet & sassy sauce. I liked both, but was really impressed with the mustard sauce. The pork was extremely tender, cooked perfectly. I did think the coleslaw was a bit lacking as I prefer it to be a bit more tangy, but the beans were pretty good (they tasted similar to canned and maybe they were, but I like those too). I wish it came with corn bread, but that's just a preference, the toast was fine too. My partner said his brisket was good as well. I would definitely order from here again. I want to try the Carolina mustard sandwich next!

And yeah, the seafood does live up to the billing. But sometimes, you just want some fried chicken or a burger. And when that mood hits, Lucky Wishbone is the place to go. So it looks like a diner, it feels like a diner, but the eats are far, far better than any diner I've been to in awhile. Fried chicken? You betcha. 3 piece, all dark, side of mashed potatoes and gravy, and cup of their chowder (on a side note, I dare say that all chowder in Anchorage is outstanding!!!). Loved the fried chicken. Delicious. Beautifully fried. I probably could've put a couple dabs of hot sauce but that's only because I like a little heat. Mashed potatoes and gravy (Alaska potatoes are also outstanding!!!) hit the spot. Chowder was so good : super creamy and loaded with seafood and potatoes. Maybe I should've order a small bucket to take back home with me. Both the service and the place was warm and friendly. Sufficed to say, I had a most enjoyable lunch here.
