Jersey Mikes is a sub shop that we found traveling on the Southern East Coast and loved their subs filled with fresh ingredients at a reasonable price. Recently they opened shops in Eagle River and Wasilla. They have an excellent menu, made to your request, on fresh bread, delicious flavored meats, and fresh vegetables. You can also have them in a wrap or bowl as a salad. They have limited seating space and the bulk of their orders are carry-out or delivery. The service is fast. They have canned, bottled, and a dispensing machine for non-alcoholic drinks. I find Jersey Mikes and Fire House subs superior to the other chain sub-shops. I have supported Fire House Subs for a long time because of their support to First Responders and Firemen. I do want to say that we have many fine independent sub-shops in our area and I working my way through them all and will provide reviews on each. We are blessed to have so many fine eateries in the Wasilla Area.

I've worked at a New Jersey sub shop a life time ago, so I have some insight here. I was watching what was going on behind the counter and it was absolute chaos. I worked in a deli with 3 people that was 10 times as busy, they had 10 people behind the counter and it was SO unorganized. So it didn't suprise me that they forgot to make my order. After my husband had finished his hot meal I had to inquire about the status of my cold sub and they had simply forgotten about it. When I finally did get it, it was excellent. Easily the best sub I've had in the 15 years I've been in Alaska. But they really need some supervision. I'll definitely be back, because there is no question the staff know how to deliver a good product.

My turkey and provolone sandwich being made "Mike's Way"

Solid turkey and provolone sandwich! Yum. Gotta admit the reviews almost made me not go to Jersey Mike's, but I'm really glad I did. Friendly staff and clean counters. Got my sammy to go and I would definitely go back.

    #7 Turkey and Provolone

Finally, a decent sub shop in Alaska. Jersey Mikes has a great selection of subs, even though I always get the turkey and provolone. The staff are friendly, the orders don't take long, and the line moves quickly. It's always nice and clean as well; what more can you ask for at a sub shop?

No matter what I get the sandwiches are very oily, even when I don't request any oil.

Worst Jersey Mikes I've been to. Brand new, but the employees don't care at all. Food is trash.

Both are packed with flavor. Whether ordering in or ordering to go, keep in mind it takes quite a while--almost 10 to 15 mins--for the staff to make your sandwich, so I wouldn't recommend that you stop here in you're in a hurry because you're not going to get it out fast. In this case, call ahead about 30 mins or so if you're picking up. The prices are a little high, but it's worth the price for the quality of the food you're getting, which I can't say for most restaurants in the present era (2020s for those that are reading this in the 2030s and 2040s, if this platform still exists then lol!) Either way, the quality is HIGH and the flavor factor? HIGH! The Classic Piadina is very fresh tasting and comes with greens. It only comes in one size, so it's a little small for me. Still delicious! The Nonni is a pretty large sandwich, if you're getting the full sandwich. The onions combine with the meat enhances the flavors. The building that Originale is in presents itself as a very quaint and relaxed lunch spot with bright colors and large windows. It's a place you can go to sit and talk with friends. I look forward to trying more of their sandwiches.

I went with the "Favorito," and let's just say, it instantly earned its name. The prosciutto cotto was pure-savory-bliss-melt-in-your-mouth good. And the focaccia- fresh, herby, and perfectly balanced in thickness. It hugged the fillings just right without stealing the show. Also, the tomatoes- I did not expect them to be so buttery and delicious. I may have paused mid-bite to appreciate them. Yes, I'm that person. As a die-hard cheese lover, the little bonus cube of cheese on the side felt like a tiny gift--like the sandwich was giving me a wink and saying, "Hey, I see you." Originale, I'll be back. Probably sooner than I should be.

It started with the many choices of bread, a 'would you like some of this delicious warm bread while you wait' paraphrasing only slightly, and then they didn't have the bread for my sandwich (I paid an extra $1 for cheesey) and they went over and beyond to compensate for such a small inconvenience. It was like a little shimmer. I take my camera out with the flash on and sure enough it's reflecting that light back at me. I tear off the piece and closely inspect it and I'm positive that I had a little shard or metal baked into my bread crust. I'm not saying it'll bar me from ever going back but it did make me uneasy enough to be done eating an otherwise good sub.

The store on Ulmerton Rd. In Largo, FL proved us correct. The store was orderly and clean and full of customers enjoying their meals. The welcoming atmosphere apparently encouraged them to find a seat and relax a while. We are creatures of habit... I always order the Italian with extra ham and no spicy ham, and a scoop of sweet peppers from the grill. My husband orders the Club, Mike's way, with extra onions and light mayo. The meal was very satisfying, but that wasn't only due to the quality ingredients. The two young men behind the counter, Ethan and Ollie were engaging and friendly, making the customers feel right at home. They knew the menu, skillfully prepared our orders, and were able to answer questions about a specialty sub, the hot ham. I am sure our experience was similar to others customers', and i hope the store owner/ manager finds a way to let her employees know how impressed we were
