Absolutely confused on the question I was informed that "Mike's way" means all the toppings. Apparently my husband likes his sandwiches Mike's way and I just like mine with tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise because I like to play it safe. With tip for two regular (sized) sandwiches, cookie, and brownie it was a little over $29. The sandwiches were good. I secretly liked that I got a little bit of someone's mustard from the communal sandwich knife and it made me think I should order my next sandwich to have a tangy little mustard to give my sandwich that little zing to take it to the next level. In store was clean, pretty empty, with what felt like a good but not overwhelming amount of options. The meat and cheese slicing sub maker had the personality of a piece of toast but the second sub maker at the vegetable station was warm and nice with a huge smile on her face.

Had it Mike's way with all the fresh vegitables, spices and sauce and absolutly delicious. I used to visit Subway all the time, but got tired of the pre-cut weighed, minimalistic approach to both meats and 1/2 slice cheese pieces. A far cry from all the pictures and commercials, so I quit visiting any subways. Then came Mike's and was so impressed that you could actual buy a sub that looked as good it tasted. After returning to Mike's over a dozen times, I went in to order my favorite sub and the new person constructing it, acted like she was a Subway employee. The total meat stack was only 1/4" thick with two thin pieces of cheese. I spoke up about the deficiencies which quickly turned into an argument, then the manager and 3 others joined in. Asked if she was a Subway employee because the sub looked like something I would get from Subway, got no response. They offered to tear the sandwich apart to add a little more meat and cheese. When it was complete it was still lacking and now unediable. I rejected the order and walked out, and haven't been back.

We both enjoyed the HUGE pile of fresh cut French fries and appreciated they kept our water glasses full. Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.

The parking lot was packed so we weren't surprised to find a busy dining room. We were told it would be a 15 minutes wait but it was actually closet to 5 minutes. Service was friendly and attentive - I ordered a coffee and it was refilled constantly throughout the entire meal which I appreciate. You'd be surprised how often that little detail gets ignored at other breakfast/brunch places. I ordered the Birria hash and it was a lovely surprise - very flavorful with tender, juicy beef over crispy fried potatoes. I loved the different sauces, salsa, pickled onions, and even sour cream self-service bar from which I helped myself to some of their delicious avocado sauce and molcajete sauce. My companion said her crab Benedict was delicious and very filling. Food portions were generous, I had enough food to take home with me for a second meal. The ambiance of the place was impressive - sort of a modern Mexican feel with some fun details like the grocery items lined up on the wall above the registers. I will definitely be back to try some of the intriguing menu items I didn't get a chance to try. I didn't have any room left to try dessert so I'll have to do that next time!

It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.
