Food is good and reasonably priced. My son likes the wings and mac and cheese. I get the pulled pork and it's good as well. The Mac and cheese is definitely the start of the show though. Everyone is very pleasant and the restaurant is always clean. If you're looking for a quick meal that won't break the bank this is the place for you.

Those are some angry, lookin' fries... :)

When we are staying in the area, we usually order delivery from this restaurant. Overall, the food was good. My partner ordered the empanadas. She wanted one brisket empanada, and one mac & cheese empanada, but when I called the restaurant, they said they can only do two of the same. Really? How hard is it to grab one of one and one of the other? Anyway, she went with the brisket empanadas and she said that they were amazing. She liked them very much. Mildly spiced, tender and delicious. They were very big. She had one for dinner, and one for breakfast. I ordered the dirty fries, with burnt ends, a chili lime sauce, and red onions. The menu did say spicy, but my thought was, "how spicy could it be?" I found out. The fries were not soggy, the burnt ends were tender and wonderfully smoky, and the sauce, even though it was right up to the very edge of what I like for spicy, was absolutely delicious. Next time I will call ahead and ask the two magic words. "How spicy?" We asked for silverware and napkins, but none came in the bag. I wish people would pay a little bit more attention to the little details. Other than that, and not being able to order separate empanadas, the meal was perfect. Next time we are staying here, we will order again Thank you.

Sad looking bread :(

$39 for 3 sandwiches (1 pulled pork,2 bbq chicken) that honestly look like they should cost maybe $8 at best. Girl said one side would bring total for one sandwich to $18. Didn't know slaw was included until after i'd left and went back in t then be told yes i clips have slaw for free. First and last time here.

I ordered the brisket with ribs and a side of coleslaw $23.36. The brisket had too much fat on them and the ribs were tough. Both were not served hot, they were room temperature. The coleslaw was good. I wanted the roasted Brussel Sprouts but they looked old and wilted in the warming dish. I came at noon, seems too early for food not to be served hot and veg looking days old. Staff was friendly. I hope they fix the broken door that kept flying open during my entire meal, cold February day.

They always forget the sauce to the point I don't think they even bother. Not even if I pay for extra side of sauce. Best thing here is Mac & cheese related

The staff in there are genuinely cool people and the food is always freshly prepped (not to mention the presentation of every dish is fye). The environment is overall prime for a great lunch and or dine in dinner. This is one of my go to spots for a nice lunch. I recommend this spot every time someone speaks of a place to eat. (They even gave me free cornbread :D)

Excellent! Like stepping into your aunt/grandma's kitchen. Situated in the corner of the main road…read morestreet and lot parking. Staff is friendly and warm, seems like a reservation heavy establishment but we were able to snag a table for 4 upon opening. Shortly after arrival the rest of the tables of 4 and even 10 filled up quickly. The dishes are huge and we left with plenty of leftovers. Happy bellies with meals made from the heart. Spring rolls 5/5 what a huge plate! Crispy and delicious. Bulalo soup 5/5 really hit the spot. Piping hot and could feed all 4 of us as a side or 2 people as a dish. Beef noodle soup (5/5) (had a bit of sweetness in case folks aren't into that) it was incredible tasty, ample meat and veggies and packed with flavor. My girls shared this and still had leftovers. Kare kare oxtail (5/5) anther awesome dish, heavy peanut flavor, loads of veggies (love!) and definitely had leftovers Would absolutely come back and highly recommend. Simple and hospitable space for small and large parties, would suggest making a reservation.

It was about 25 minutes away from where we were but the great experience here made our drive worth. The place is very homey with a wonderful staff. Service is impeccable. The owners are very friendly and has great customer relations skills. The foods are excellent. We had the pleasure of trying their bangus sisig, pork bbq and caldereta. The tastes exceeded our expectations. We learned that their chef hailed from Luzon so the degree of cooking style satisfied our taste buds. The calamansi drink I had was fabulous. Honestly, the best I had so far. Our halo/halo dessert was heavenly. Satisfied our sweet tooth. The serving size is in huge portion. Each order is shareable by around 2-3 people. Pricing is higher in comparison to other place but proportioned to the serving size. I have one star less for my review for two reasons- 1.The check includes a service charge that confused us if a gratuity should be given or not. We need to Google first for right information. We ended up adding gratuity for their hospitality . 2. Looking for parking spot is challenging. We ended up downloading the town's parking mobile app to get parked closer. We are willing to return if ever we are near the area.

I really miss Portuguese BBQ in NJ from when I used to work in Newark, but rarely come out this way…read moremuch anymore. BBQ joints dotted the landscape in the Ironbound neighborhood. But I found Long Ave BBQ on a Yelp search and on a trip back on I-78, I took a detour through Hillside to pick up dinner. The place reminds me of all the hole-in-the-wall places in the Ironbound with stainless steel covering everything, a brick pit charcoal grill and a giant ventilation hood sucking all the smoke up through the chimney and the whole neighborhood smells like BBQ. One innovation I see is that they use a motorized grill basket system that's constantly turning a bunch of grill baskets with chicken & ribs sandwiched in them. After perusing the menu, I order the Parrillada Portuguesa, a huge family meal for 6 people, that'll last my little family of 3 for 3 days. The PP comes with grilled chicken breast, a half chicken, pork ribs & cross sliced beef short ribs (Korean LA Kalbi style). The slices of chicken breast are too dry and with not a lot of flavor, but the pork ribs have that Ironbound Portuguese charcoal flavor I miss so much (even though a few ribs were a little tough to chew). The BBQ half chicken is alright, but not as much flavor as Peruvian rotisserie style and the short ribs are not as good as Korean style. I think they should do whole beef ribs Southern style, low and slow or even a whole beef brisket would be great. The Parrillada comes with 2 side dishes that are not shy by any means. You get an aluminum tray filled with 1/2 french fries and 1/2 rice that will be enough for 3 meals also! Next time, I would come back just for a full rack of the pork ribs, but I hope that the pitmaster doesn't overcook it.

Stopped by on Juneteenth to support and it was a great experience. Over a decades worth of…read moreexperience and you can taste the culinary flavors of Caribbean culture fused with good ole BBQ. I ordered bbq chicken with mac & cheese and brisket combo with green and rice. Also a side of pulled pork. The chicken has a great crispy skin that you can bite into and delivers the moist chicken thighs that are packed with flavor. You can tell he seasoned the chicken officially because you can also taste the green seasoning used primarily in Caribbean cooking. The Mac & cheese was good, and the baked beans were homemade and tasty. A tad too much nutmeg but overall delicious The brisket was well cooked and the greens were a combo of collards and cabbage that really left a great impression on me. The rice was moist and flavorful as well. The pulled pork reminded me of my time in the Carolina's and that mild sauce put it over the top for me. Overall me experience was great and I would definitely stop by again to try other items like the pulled chicken and the baby back ribs Well done Dr Rodgers!
