The sausage was nice and light but missing a little something. The brisket was nice and tender and moist. The ribs were on point, tender and still had good bite. Bbq joint not too far from Newark Airport. My wife and and wanted to venture out on our overnight stay. The food pictured was mostly excellent. Anything with burnt ends was amazing. No sauce needed. Food was good not great, brisket was better than the wings and ribs. Side were average and corn bread was below average. I've tried 4 different times to give a fair review. The fact that the food is very expensive for bbq also factors into my score, if your going to charge 5 star prices then your food better be 5 star tasting. And I realize meat prices have gone up, but they were way high long before prices went up everywhere else. I asked Several times, thinking that they probably forgot to put the order in, however, we were the only ones in the restaurant. This review is for September 28th 5:30pm. As a local I was really looking forward to finally trying Mighty Quinn's. I was unfortunately underwhelmed. Let me start with the good. The Mac and cheese, coleslaw and bbq sauce were all excellent. Also tried the pulled pork, chicken and burnt ends. The chicken and the pulled pork were pretty good, I can't say the same for the burnt ends. Let me also preface this with I like my meat well done. Unfortunate the burnt ends tasted more like beef jerkey. Extremely dry and tasted like maybe they had sat around too long. Will try again in hopes of a better experience. read more

I came here with my husband because we were craving BBQ-type foods. When we arrived, there was only 1 customer ahead of us on line and 1 customer in the restaurant eating. We went on a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure that it gets much busier during the week since Kean University is within walking distance. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich special ($15) which includes fries and a drink. My husband ordered the same chicken sandwich as my meal + an order of mac and cheese fritters that we shared. The food arrived at our table after about 10 minutes of waiting. The sandwich was meh. It was messy and I couldn't finish it without using all of their wet naps (almost lol). I placed an order from here on Uber eats with my girlfriend, we ordered the spicy wings, brisket and sausage with Mac and cheese as a side. After we placed the order my girlfriend wanted to request well done wings and wanted them to be all flats. Most places that I've requested this from just tell me they can't do it and sound annoyed by the request. I called anyway and spoke to Vinny and not only did he provide me with kind, and friendly exceptional service but he had no issue with the request. His exact words were "you got it brother". When we got the food it was phenomenal and exactly how we ordered it. This was my first time trying this place and just because of a single friendly phone call I will be going in person and trying the dine in experience because I have no doubt that it will be much better in person. Food was good but service was terrible. Staff is very forgetful.They kept forgetting our order. We order like 4 meats only got the ribs. Half hour later we asked them about the rest of the order. Ten mins later they brought the brisket. Another ten mins later I said we never got the pulled pork and the sausage and the employee said "oh we don't have any more sausage do you want something else?" So I said ok we'll have the chicken. Another 15 min later and the rest of the food still didn't arrive so I had to ask them again how long for the pulled pork and chicken? Another employee literally just scooped it from the hot food bar. Then when we asked for lids they forgot to give them to us so I had to asked again for them. If you like BBQ this place is a must go. I had the 3 meat platter. Pulled pork brisket and burnt ends. A bit of fat but that's to be expected. What concerned me most of all was they had no hot sauce. A BBQ place without hot sauce is like a fisherman without a fishing pole. So bring your own or take the meal to go where you know you have hot sauce. Went here for dinner with the family tonight. I highly recommend the ribs and burnt end baked beans. My wife also loved the brussel sprouts, and the kiddos thoroughly enjoyed their Mac & Cheese and Tenders. It's hard to please this group sometimes, but we all left full & happy. OK were to start, we ordered a 3 meat platter, chicken was extremely tough and over-salted, no real flavor, ribs were over done and like shoe leather and burnt ends which I paid $4 extra for just cut up pieces of brisket. Then we ordered some sides, the creamy and vinegar coleslaw both slaw's were ready to go off. They were probably made 4 or 5 days ago by the smell and the taste. We ordered the baked beans with burnt ends the beans were tough not well cooked at all and the flavor again was over-salted. Then there was the $45 brontosaurus rib, which is there name for a beef rib. Defiantly not worth $45 dollars based upon the size, flavor was too salty yet again.
