Very popular place. The mixed tray was good. Large ribs and tasty chicken. The order took about 10 minutes.

Whole chicken with rice and veggies & garlic shrimp

Great no frills Portuguese bbq spot in Union. I usually order the whole chicken with yellow rice and veggies. The chicken is well seasoned and delicious. The cabbage is excellent-so buttery and flavorful. I've had the chorizo here too. It's so good from the grill. The garlic shrimp is very good and fresh. I've dined in, have ordered take out and delivery. It is a small place with some tables so it's best to order take out/delivery if it's during a busy time (lunch and dinner).

Half chicken with rice and vegetables. And the right is half pork ribs and chicken with French fries and vegetables.

Ever since I was a little rib I always wanted to be loved and today after a long hike in milburn I just randomly picked a place on Yelp that was near the trail, but I am so happy I picked this place. Was it the best thing I ever had no, but it was really really good. Omg especially the cost, I went in there so hungry and made the "mistake" of thinking we needed a meal per person. We were so wrong one meal could easily fill two people. I usually eat way more than the average person but I couldn't even finish my order. The atmosphere was great too, you can really tell every employee cared about the restaurant, and as a little rib I felt the love.

We ordered a lot of chicken and sides for a family gathering recently. All went well, but it didn't stand out as an exceptional dinner.

Food was okay. I find it's no different than any other bbq grill establishment. Nice people.

Got the full bbq chicken with rice and beans and it was amazing! Also got a small salad. It's enough to feed 4 people. Really good flavor.

Everything it should be, this is! A plate of chicken and ribs cooked over a fire served with rice and beans. Find a way to beat that!

There is a huge parking lot so there is ample parking even since the area is busy. The restaurant when I arrived was very clean. There was only one person in front of me ordering with a young man. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and patient and helpful to pick out the best of the menu. I ordered the 3 meat sampler with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. None of the sides looked too appealing so I left them out and didn't get the combo meal. To my surprise it was a whopping $30 for the 3 meats. Granted it is certainly enough to feed two people, I was expecting a side of some sort to come with it, a roll, something. Last minute I was given a cold slaw. Taste wise it isn't the best bbq I've had but if you're a carnivore like me...it will meet the need. The pulled pork had too many overcooked hard areas and the ribs were just okay. Will I be back? Maybe maybe not. I didn't eat anything that I would necessarily write home about but maybe.

It's a scam…read more Similar to Target/Amazon black Friday sale, they put a very hight retail price to make it seem like there's value. For $9 it's okay for 1 meal. I probably wouldn't stop by after trying this TGTG. I'd probably have to spend at least $60 to get a BBQ from here and it doesn't seem worth it. I would hit up Red white and Que in green Brook for decent BBQ around the area.

Diners and costumers like…read moreme praise the authentic homestyle dishes, standout flavors, generous portions, and exceptionally very friendly and warm service, though some of my companions note a plain ambiance and higher price points ( for me their pleasing food quality and taste outweighs the price ). The Chicken Sisig, Palabok, pork BBQ and sizzling Biko with ice cream are a must-try from the food menu. The appetizers, like the piping hot vegetable lumpia and their humongous portion of Halo-halo as dessert are highly recommended by me and other reviewers. When we dined at this place, the whole staff gave me a feeling as if I was eating at an aunt's house, with the owner and staff providing very welcoming, family-style care. I have been living in NY for more than 30 years, have already eaten in so many low and high-end Filipino restaurants, in terms of food quality and taste, I may say this by far is the best that I have experienced. If given the chance to be in New Jersey again, I will definitely, 100% be back to this place for their delicious and flavorful food. Some of my companions point out that the seating area is relatively small, which can lead to limited availability during peak times, and a few note the interior decor is fairly plain but it did not matter to me because the food that I ordered/tried were great and amazing (properly spiced, cooked very well and soooooooo delicious!! ). Food portions are generous, presentation was appetizing and excellent, staff service was attentive and great ( I noticed that our water glasses were always filled up which is a service very consistent in so many high-priced restaurants that I have been ). Table setting is good, food utensils and plates were very clean ( yes, I checked it! ). I am extremely satisfied with my food experience and the hospitality of the owner and their staff in this Filipino restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!!!

Service wasn't that great and we were the only customers there at the time then other guest staggered in . I'm all for restaurants thriving and always wish them luck but holy cow prices are crazy average appetizers are $16.50 or more and entree dishes are $25 or more for serving sizes and flavors are really lacking in a lot of dishes . Lechon was cut thinner not the usual big chunks and the oil tasted old and was greasy . Sinigang with the Baboy was very underwhelming the Baboy wasn't boiled down enough . The sisig has too much of a soy sauce taste and way too much mayo on top . The chicharron bulaklak was okay could have used a bit more seasoning and seemed to be a popular item that day . The BBQ stick was decent but not for $18 . Being Filipino myself I know everyone has their own way of making certain dishes so people may like it but in my opinion I've had better at a few other spots . Wishing them all the best .

I really miss Portuguese BBQ in NJ from when I used to work in Newark, but rarely come out this way…read moremuch anymore. BBQ joints dotted the landscape in the Ironbound neighborhood. But I found Long Ave BBQ on a Yelp search and on a trip back on I-78, I took a detour through Hillside to pick up dinner. The place reminds me of all the hole-in-the-wall places in the Ironbound with stainless steel covering everything, a brick pit charcoal grill and a giant ventilation hood sucking all the smoke up through the chimney and the whole neighborhood smells like BBQ. One innovation I see is that they use a motorized grill basket system that's constantly turning a bunch of grill baskets with chicken & ribs sandwiched in them. After perusing the menu, I order the Parrillada Portuguesa, a huge family meal for 6 people, that'll last my little family of 3 for 3 days. The PP comes with grilled chicken breast, a half chicken, pork ribs & cross sliced beef short ribs (Korean LA Kalbi style). The slices of chicken breast are too dry and with not a lot of flavor, but the pork ribs have that Ironbound Portuguese charcoal flavor I miss so much (even though a few ribs were a little tough to chew). The BBQ half chicken is alright, but not as much flavor as Peruvian rotisserie style and the short ribs are not as good as Korean style. I think they should do whole beef ribs Southern style, low and slow or even a whole beef brisket would be great. The Parrillada comes with 2 side dishes that are not shy by any means. You get an aluminum tray filled with 1/2 french fries and 1/2 rice that will be enough for 3 meals also! Next time, I would come back just for a full rack of the pork ribs, but I hope that the pitmaster doesn't overcook it.

The place is veteran owned and has been in business for a while! All the choices on the menu are mouth watering good! After serious consideration we settled on sharing the Trinity platter which came with brisket, spare ribs and sausage links. We opted out of the sausage and upgraded the platter with pastrami. The Texas Trinity platter also comes with choices of pickles, one small sized side, we had Mac and Cheese, and 2 rolls. The portions were satisfying and good to share. The meats, oh my! All were smoked and cooked to perfection! Moist, juicy, and tender! Even better, they were seasoned so well there is no need for the also perfect sauces they offer! What an amazing experience at Red White n Que Smoke House! From the friendly and attentive service to their amazing smoked meats! All was top notch real at this place!
