So I've been wanting to visit this place for years and today I felt for some bbq. The restaurant is conveniently found near vermella in Union across from Kean. There is a huge parking lot so there is ample parking even since the area is busy. The restaurant when I arrived was very clean. There was only one person in front of me ordering with a young man. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and patient and helpful to pick out the best of the menu. I ordered the 3 meat sampler with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. None of the sides looked too appealing so I left them out and didn't get the combo meal. To my surprise it was a whopping $30 for the 3 meats. Granted it is certainly enough to feed two people, I was expecting a side of some sort to come with it, a roll, something. Last minute I was given a cold slaw. Taste wise it isn't the best bbq I've had but if you're a carnivore like me...it will meet the need. The pulled pork had too many overcooked hard areas and the ribs were just okay. Will I be back? Got TGTG from in Nov2025. It was for $9 but the retail value said it was for $27. It's a scam. Similar to Target/Amazon black Friday sale, they put a very hight retail price to make it seem like there's value. For $9 it's okay for 1 meal. I probably wouldn't stop by after trying this TGTG. I'd probably have to spend at least $60 to get a BBQ from here and it doesn't seem worth it. I would hit up Red white and Que in green Brook for decent BBQ around the area. read more

So today I decided to start with the sausage sandwich , side of fries and my husband the spicy crispy chicken bowl over rice. The food had great flavor and satisfied our tastebuds. The sausage had great flavor and the spicy chicken had a chili lime sauce which was delishhhh. Food is good and reasonably priced. My son likes the wings and mac and cheese. I get the pulled pork and it's good as well. The Mac and cheese is definitely the start of the show though. When we are staying in the area, we usually order delivery from this restaurant. Overall, the food was good. My partner ordered the empanadas. She wanted one brisket empanada, and one mac & cheese empanada, but when I called the restaurant, they said they can only do two of the same. Really? How hard is it to grab one of one and one of the other? Anyway, she went with the brisket empanadas and she said that they were amazing. She liked them very much. Mildly spiced, tender and delicious.They were very big. She had one for dinner, and one for breakfast. I ordered the dirty fries, with burnt ends, a chili lime sauce, and red onions. The menu did say spicy, but my thought was, "how spicy could it be?" I found out. The fries were not soggy, the burnt ends were tender and wonderfully smoky, and the sauce, even though it was right up to the very edge of what I like for spicy, was absolutely delicious. Next time I will call ahead and ask the two magic words. "How spicy?" We asked for silverware and napkins, but none came in the bag. I wish people would pay a little bit more attention to the little details. Other than that, and not being able to order separate empanadas, the meal was perfect. Had a craving for brisket so I did a Google search and saw that Mighty Quinn was somewhat in the area. I remembered that co-owner Hugh Magnum was a frequent judge on Beat Bobby Flay and most recently a finalist in Food Network's BBQ Brawl, so figured this place was a can't miss. Placed an order for the 2 Meat Sampler (Ribs and Brisket), beans and corn muffin. Unfortunately was notified a few minutes later they were out of corn muffins, which was weird since I place my order a few minutes after they opened, but whatever. Food arrived, opened up the container and was disappointed at what I saw. Even without tasting it, the brisket looked dry, which it was. And it was right on the edge of being over salty. The ribs tasted okay, but definitely did not look anything like the pictures and they weren't falling off the bone like I would expect them to. The beans were the only thing that were good. Nice kick of heat, but nothing overpowering. Most likely will not be returning. read more

The coleslaw was good. I wanted the roasted Brussel Sprouts but they looked old and wilted in the warming dish. I came at noon, seems too early for food not to be served hot and veg looking days old. Friendly staff but not very...together? Kinda couldn't grasp what I was asking for. A combo plate with brisket, pulled pork, ribs. Three of their meats. We also asked about sides. It was difficult to get an answer as that wasn't on the display/menu and for some reason I couldn't get an answer without digging. Combos come with sides. But not if you get more more than one meat. Huh?? Nope. You can't get that. But I want that (I wasn't alone so it was kinda required that more than one thing was what was needed here). Sorry sir, but you can get two but not with anything else. You mean by the pound? No, but you can have two but no sides. I was just getting irritated as the explanation didn't go anywhere. So I caved and ordered a la cart. We did get the three proteins, beans and Brussels sprouts. Brisket was decent and a touch dry. We came in the afternoon after lunch rush and being in the warmer already broached (one end of the brisket was already started) but tasty. It didn't survive except for the bits in a doggy bag. We had the pork and ribs too so we started that after the beef. Pulled pork was good, ribs were also good. I appreciate that the folks serving up the dishes didn't put liquid fat on the brisket to compensate for the slight dryness of the air/exposed bits we got. Tallow isn't all THAT tasty despite other opinions (for us anyway). Beans were very good and my partner was surprised that there was meat in it. That's was an enjoyable plus. The Brussels sprouts. That was another story. A bit over sweet and beautifully charred BUT: Fallen leaves from Brussels sprouts were dry and leathery. I like them but they were a distraction along with huge amounts of oil. Really. Dripping. Finally, it should be mentioned that they will, unless you stop them, squirt bbq sauce on the brisket without asking (bad choice: the flavor of the product should speak for itself, not a random sauce; and I I tried to stop my them but too late: it was swimming in sauce. Ng. They offered to remake it and I was grateful. Just be aware of this habit. It's NOT on the menu that they'll do it but it seems to be SOP so just be aware. Before I get hammered on my habit of doing sauces separately it has two purposes: 1) I reiterate that the meal that uses optional sauces (BBQ in particular, this isn't a French dish that's conceived with sauces in mind) should speak for itself and, 2) There are usually more than one BBQ sauce at most places and this one was no exception. I saw them at the tables on the way in. If you slather sauce on the dish ahead of time, that kills using the other sauces. I choose to decide at the table and that lets me do it. My partner had never tried the Carolina mustard-based sauce and LOVED it. Had we the standard sauce on the brisket, I'd never have had the pleasure of watching eyes light up and a comment on how good it was. I don't grade on a curve. Average is average, better than gets a score that reflects that. I'd say this Mighty Quinn better than average. We liked it. It had some rough edges but overall it was a worthy visit. Great, no. Good, yes. I hope to go again after seeing some other places. read more

We order from Mighty Quinn's almost every Christmas for lunch and it is always a hit. Wings, ribs, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and beans were all amazing. Brisket, which we usually order, was sold out. I do find that everything needs to be reheated with extra bbq sauce, which is totally fine with me when you are serving a party of 10. Corn bread is fluffy and cake-like and always disappears quickly. Best delivery bbq in the area for me and my family. read more

I discovered Mighty Quinn's because my office, the Community Food Bank of NJ, had used them for a team function and was impressed by the quality of the food. So, when I had to organize a lunch for our dept of 80 people I knew it was the first choice to order from. It did not disappoint! The brisket was tender and flavorful, the mac and cheese was creamy and savory and the pulled chicken was full of flavor. My personal favorite were the sweet potatoes with the brown sugar and pecan topping--the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes came out in a fluffy whipped deliciousness that I can say was comparable to my own ;) Catering for a large group isn't always easy but everyone raved about it. One of the highlights of my experience with them was their impeccable customer service. Teshan took my order and helped me formulate a menu that was best for a large group, taking into account dietary restrictions. There was a lot of back and forth with my questions and when he said he would get back to me he did, and did so speedily. Vinny was above and beyond the most accommodating in providing some welcomed extras and recognizing our tight budget as a non-profit. Mighty Quinn's definitely understood our company's values and took pride in the fact that we were trying to show our staff appreciation for what they do each day when they come to work by going above and beyond in feeding THEM. I hadn't been to Mighty Quinn's in so many years so it was really nice to try it! I went with my husband and my in-laws. Everyone enjoyed the food. The staff was quick and friendly. Environment is very casual and clean. I got: Burnt ends - pretty good! Well seasoned. A bit of fat but not so much that it stopped me from eating. Dirty fries - This is one heavy dish! If you're up for it, it's a hearty side. Brussel sprouts - great, but small. Broccoli salad - solid side. Everything was pretty good. The staff in there are genuinely cool people and the food is always freshly prepped (not to mention the presentation of every dish is fye). The environment is overall prime for a great lunch and or dine in dinner. This is one of my go to spots for a nice lunch. I recommend this spot every time someone speaks of a place to eat. Omg I spent $68 dollars on this crap through uber eats and boy oh boy. I ordered the 2 meat platter and it was the most disgusting brisket and ribs I've ever had. The brisket was crumblely and unseasoned and the ribs were dry and unseasoned. There was no smokiness to the meats what so ever. I ordered the baked beans but I can't review them because I never received them. The pickled pickles were a complete joke and the cornbread and coleslaw were down right nasty. The place is ok. I ordered delivery, so I know it wouldn't be as good as if I ate there in-person. To the defense, they tried to keep their food crispy by using paper boxes on the foods that normally get soggy. It didn't work, but they tried. Their baked beans include blackeyed peas and are quite good. They're sweeter than you'd probably like, but they were the highlight of the meal. Their in-house pickled veg is a plus, too. Wings had a great sauce but were, unfortunately, over-cooked and chewy - a by products of being fully cooked by smoke and then fried. But again, the sauce was very tasty. Their pulled pork was moist and smoky, but they unfortunately forgot the BBQ sauce that the description came in it (or with it), so the sandwich was a little bland without it. Let me tell you about disappointment and angst. Wifey craves BBQ specifically "Brisket". Off we trek to Mighty Quinn in Clifton, off Rt. 3 West. First, the space has no ambiance. It appears dark and a little dirty here and there. Belly up to the menu board and keep your hand firmly on your wallet. After I recovered from menu sticker shock, wifey ordered the Brisket with a side of sweet potatoes and slaw. She would have ordered the beans but they look so dried out and unappetizing you wouldn't try them if they were free. As a matter of fact, all food presented in the warming trays were all suffering from neglect. Just rotate the items in the tray to at least make them look tasty. Service was ok but the food mainly the brisket was horrible. Fat abounds and if you cared about your cardiac condition you wouldn't even be tempted. This food was disgusting and .... Very expensive and small controlled portions. A bad experience and we won't be returning. read more

2nd time here. So before I came back I read some reviews on here. And my experience was very similar. 1st I see why ppl think it's a lil confusing. When u walk in u see the cash register and u would think u would order there, but u don't u order on the opposite end. And the employees are too wrapped up in conversation to greet and direct you. 2nd the food, wow I have not ever been disappointed with brisket, but this brisket here was so dry and brittle it was crumbling when stabbed with a fork. It was more fat then meat and I like a lil fat but geez. And it definitely was not a half a pound. it was more like a quarter pound. The lady that cut it definitely did not weight it, was to busy talking to her co worker. was thinking about getting sides, but just looking at them through the glass. It looked like their sides have been sitting there all day. They were dry and didn't look appetizing at all. The presentation was terrible. Overall this place needs to retrain their staff on customer service and professionalism, make it clear where to order and pick up, keep their sides fresh, weight the meat, work on that brisket. read more

Giving an updated review because I literally am so confused about this location. I walked in and there was no semblance of order. The gentleman in front of me was picking up and order but nobody had spoken to him /asked him if he's needed help. After a couple of minutes, i realized nobody knew what was going on so I asked the cashier if there was a specific place to pick food up. She said "oh yeah! Right here!". Although she'd literally been standing there the entire time the gentleman and I were confused. When I finally gave her my name, she continued to restock cornbread but didn't check on my order. Finally, when I asked her again, she said it was being worked on, although the app told me it was ready. As I waited for my order, other people came in and literally the confusion continued. There was no one to greet them, ask them what they needed, etc. a gentleman came in and picked his order up while the women after me were waiting, then another group came in and was flustered. I'm not sure where/how customer-employee relationship is supposed to work but it was a mess. Thank God the food is still delicious because wow, what a mess! read more

Nice BBQ. I think this place is nice. It's good quality food, but the restaurant felt like a fast food joint. We ordered three meat combos, two-meat combos, mac and cheese fritters (very good), and french fries. I had a local promotion for $10 off for orders over $50, only for takeout. So for meats, we got sausage, 1/4 chicken, briskets, ribs, and burnt end meat. We liked all the meats except the burnt end which was drenched in bbq sauce, and the sauce was not that good (like bbq sauce from a bottle). Overall, I recommend anyone who is looking to get a decent BBQ meal, this place would be it. The service was good, too. No complaints about their service. read more

My first experience with Mighty Quinn's was actually their West Village location in New York City. I had to use their rest room one night and they were very kind and let me use it and in exchange I purchased a side of their baked beans. Let me tell you, these beans are *awesome*. They have a rich, sweet and savory flavor and the bits of meat in the mixture add flavor and texture that can't be beat. It was with this good memory in mind that I went to Mighty Quinn's Barbeque when they first opened this summer. This new location is set inside a newly built area across from a newly built housing development so everything is shiny, kind of futuristic looking and clean. Other chains nearby include CVS Pharmacy, a Starbucks and Panera. The restaurant is really beautiful, with a modern sense of space (wide open, welcoming) but with decor that focuses on darker tones like wood colors and black. There is also outdoor seating. When you enter you pass seating to go to the counter. First you order your meat, then you go down the line to get sides and drinks. When you are done paying, items like wet wipes, napkins, utensils and so on are at the very end of the counter. It is a very efficient system and works well. That said, when I went early on, the staff was very much still settling in and getting used to thinks, so there was a bit of a "deer in the headlights" quality to them when you ordered, but on my last two visits (out of five so far) they have really gotten into the groove. So far my favorite dishes here are their chicken wings (the spicy ones rock), their brisket (falls apart and isn't too salty) and the aforementioned baked beans. Their sweet potatoes are good but a tad *too* sweet, so be warned. I also enjoy their mac and cheese. I also appreciate how they try their best to give you a fresh dish whenever possible. Chicken wings are made to order for instance, and if they only say, have a little mac and cheese left in a try, they get a new one and load you up from the new one. I've worked Mighty Quinn's into my regular restaurant rotation this summer and I intend to go back soon! read more

Decided to try this place out and it was pretty good ! I had the sampler platter with ribs, pulled pork and roasted chicken , sweet potato / potato salad , Mac n cheese , corn fritter things and the EloteCorn ! Everything was great , the roasted chicken was my favorite very juicy and moist and cooked perfectly ! Ribs were tender but I'm more of a dry rib person so wasn't for me but still good , pulled pork was great ! All the sides were good but the Elote Corn made me a little sad cause it's one of my favorite dishes and it was ice cold !! Not sure if that's how they serve theirs but it's suppose to be warm/hot but the flavor was still their tho ! The food gets 5 stars but the fact that the staff doesn't really seem to care about people who walk in and order and then forget to prepare your order after you've been waiting for almost 30 minutes, deducts 2 stars. Even after bringing it to their attention, I still waited another 10 minutes. It should be noted that the orders in question were two sides, nothing more. But the staff did seem to be having a good time laughing and talking to each other as they took way longer than they needed to, to scoop some food out of the pan and into a container. Definitely would not recommend going to this location to eat. But if you order thru door dash, don't worry because those guys get preferable treatment over actual walk in customers read more
