We tried this place for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The waitstaff were great and very friendly. I appreciated the ambiance and little table lamps. They offered some nightly specials for appetizers and dinner. The trio which is a regular menu item, was delicious. I really enjoyed the bourbon glazed sauce on the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Most of their sauces are homemade. To include, the delicious mid sauce that comes on the burger. When we got there it was around 5pm on a Saturday night and it was not crowded, however by the time we left it was filling up quickly. You may want to make a reservation. We had a nice dinner and will definitely be back.

My sister and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. They were quite busy, but just had a table open up for two and we were able to be seated right away. We ordered an appetizer and a couple of drinks and our food and drinks came in a timely manner. Then we ordered our main meal, I got to their burger and my sister got their steak fries. The food was delicious and served fresh. The atmosphere was chill however they had a party come in later and it got rather loud and hard to hear our conversation. Overall, it was a good experience and we will definitely be back to try more items off of their menu.

Nice spot off the grid. Clean and friendly inside, think they have a patio. Food was not over priced and my steak sandwich was great.

Friday was my very first visit at Midtown Tavern. It's a nice spot. I dined on a night of a huge party in the back so when I walked in I was met with the volume of conversation high. The food had potential to be amazing but it wasn't hot when it came to my table. I didn't send it back. I barely ate my steak nor fries. Again, this is not anything bad on the restaurant itself. We were told it was due to the very large party in the back and quite a few of the party being disgruntled for whatever reason. This made a domino effect in the kitchen. I would love to try the place again in hopes there isn't a party going on. I do believe it has potential.

First off. I love the interior. It's very nice. They have a few tvs scattered around. Im sure that will be helpful come fall. We brought our four-year old and there were other children so kid-friendly. (We came around 5ish on Saturday.) We ordered two Spicy Paloma. I expected it to be spicier. It's grapefruit heavy. Personally not a $12 cocktail. She ordered that margarita. In her words, "Very solid." I agree. They use Espolón. We had the Twice Cooked Wings. They were supposed to have a sweet & spicy chili sauce. The wings did not give sweet or spicy. They were just wings. I'm sure how they were cooked but they lacked texture so likely baked. Taste was above average. We both ordered the Smash Burger and we ordered the chicken tenders for our son. So I enjoyed the burger. Oh yeah. It was 100% not a smashburger. It was just a a double-quarter pounder. Patties weren't smashed at all. No crisp edges. I do wish it was piping hot bc who doesn't like piping hot food? But it was a little warm. I don't think the buns were warmed or toasted but they were good quality. I think brioche. The fries were pretty cold. Not even warm. On all three plates. My spouse sent hers back. The replacement fries came back in less than 5 minutes. They were crispy and very good. We LOVE fresh hand-cut fries. Lastly, the chicken tenders. I ate one. Not bad, not the best. Above-average. I definitely respect them bc they are hand-breaded. So I like the texture and crisp on them. Could have used some seasoning. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I do hope they have a better beer selection by football season. Definitely room for improvement but none of the complaints were major issues. And it was literally, the soft opening weekend. We will revisit before summer is over.

Can't complain - food was pretty good. Very select menu. We ordered the pimento cheese, fried oysters, and Brussels sprouts to start. Finished with the fried oyster sandwich, steak sandwich, and the steak chimichurri. Fries are the only side dish but we're quite yummy for the shoestring style, cooked perfectly. The restaurant was busy, there were a lot of birthdays going on while we were there but the service was still amazing. We went around 8 pm on a Friday night, sat in the back room of the restaurant and when we were leaving the front of the restaurant and outside was absolutely packed! The restaurant on the inside was super cute and calming, even with multiple tvs in the back room you were still able to have a nice conversation with friends. Since we ordered a sampling of everything and the menu is very limited I'm not sure whether we will be going back or not, but it was definitely worth the visit.

In Augusta for golf and change of pace. We were fortunate to land a rez Saturday night before the Masters. The place was jumpin' with a local crowd and newbies like us. Our charismatic server, Harrison, guided us to favorites such as fried oysters, pimento cheese spread and pita, double smashed cheese burger and fries, and oyster BLT. We finished with Key Lime and Peanut Butter pie.... To Die For!!!! Service, food and ambiance so delightful.... We came back Wed. night.

Came for a early dinner on Sunday around 5pm. It wasn't busy and was seated right away. The server was polite and attentive and made excellent recommendations. The restaurant was dark and mostly lit by these small lamps (am curious when winter comes if they will have different lighting). We tried 3 appetizers may favorite was the brussle sprouts. They were crispy and tossed in a refreshing ginger dressing. I also enjoyed the fried oysters and the spinach dip with pita bread but will like get the brussle sprouts in the future. They have a limited menu which is good. There's not too many decisions to make...I opted for the steak sandwich which was really good but a tad salty. Looking forward to go back. Although I must say if you have parking anxiety like me might be hard....not sure where to really park.....I parked in the lot next door that belongs to other businesses but they looked closed since it was Sunday night.

    Burger and fries

We arrived in town later in the evening, so needed a place open late. This place was open to midnight, and the menu looked amazing, so we headed over. We got there at 9:30 and were told that the kitchen closed at 10, but were happy to seat us as long as we placed our order before 10. Cool. We quickly ordered what we had planned, having looked at the menu ahead of time. This is where things took a turn. First, they were out of the apricot pork loin. Then, they were out of the other entree that we had planned, the fried oyster BLT. Ordered a steak sandwich, to later be told...out of that too. And the steak frites. I was recommended the hamburger (there really wasn't much left), which I could have gotten anywhere, but ok. Unfortunately, grease dripped out of the burger when I picked it up, and the fries were also greasy and not crispy. I ate about a quarter of the burger and a couple of fries, but couldn't continue. Let the server know, she apologized, but took no further action. The bar looked fun, with a nice-looking drink menu. The server was very friendly and personable. Definitely not a place for late-night food though, would have liked to try our original selections to evaluate, but won't be coming here again.

The Knarf... OMG it's good and it's gorgeous!!! This place is a must try!

They have a number of stuffed and warm cookies to choose from. I couldn't decide on just one flavor and so opted for two! This was a bit of a mistake as their cookies are really large and dense which I discovered when the worker placed the first box with one cookie on the counter before me and it made an audible kerplunk. My goodness! I got their chocolate peanut butter cookie as well as a sugar cookie. When I realized how ample the cookies were, I gave the sugar cookie to the hotel clerk at my hotel, so I can only speak to the chocolate peanut butter cookie. It was sweet and delicious. I will note that their cookies are very sweet. I don't eat sweets often so the rich sweetness of one cookie was a bit much for me. Were I to go again, I'd probably split one with a friend. That said, the cookie was warm and ooey-gooey. It's kind of an inside out peanut butter cup with a peanut butter cookie surrounding a fudge-y chocolate center. If you like a chocolate/pb combo--this cookie is for you! The workers were lovely. I walked in with no familiarity with the biz and the clerk immediately gave me the rundown of their cookies and how ordering works. They were all so nice in here! If you're looking for an indulgent sweet treat, Dirty Dough has you covered! Get to it!

From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry. So it wasn't a total surprise to find that they have decided to move to suburban Augusta. The new shopping center they've chosen was otherwise still under construction when I stopped in, but several groups of people had found this place and were shopping for ice cream. I imagine on a nice summer day there will be a line when word gets out. Not a lot of really top end ice cream around here, but this place knows how to infuse flavor. A more caramel and cookie creation complemented my dark and bitter chocolate. The chocolate came with Andes mints inside, which sounded nice but honestly could hardly be tasted because the flavor of the ice cream itself was so strong. Premium local ice cream isn't cheap, but here I did get a heaping portion size as I watched more flavors being created in the back of the shop.

I visited this place while traveling on a hot, sunny weekend right when it opened, and it was an utter pleasure. Parking: there's plenty of street parking. I parked right in front of the dessert cafe. Free parking. Ambiance: it's a dark themed place with grey walls, a luxurious plush couch, and a dungeon-ish feel. It's more Halloween themed kind of style than luxurious. It's a cute mix of orange and black-grey themes. There's soft upbeat music in the background. Right when it opens is a great time to go! I nearly had the whole cafe to myself! Dessert: I ended up getting their pineapple cheesecake with cheesecake snow. It was light, fluffy, creamy. It's similar to Korean shaved ice or a lighter Italian shaved ice. It melts in your mouth and releases the sweetness. You can build your own and they have premade flavors such as turtle cheesecake, amaretto romance, cotton candy, vampy sour, orange dream, I love you Cheryl much, Mexican candy, pina colada. I ordered large, and I could definitely finish it all for myself! This is a chain that started in California. They start with a proprietary base, mix in the flavors, freeze it into a block, shave it, and then decorate it. In addition, the worker informed me that some of the cheesecake flavors have a homemade purée, with the strawberry cheesecake being the most popular.
