I came in for an oil change and was told I would receive a brake inspection and cleaning to address a creaking noise. I agreed to this based on the explanation that it would involve cleaning and lubricating the brake components. I did not see any wheel removal or disassembly that would indicate a real brake cleaning was performed. After paying, the original creaking noise was still present. When I questioned this, the explanation changed to a different issue ("hissing"/air sound) that I have never heard and that does not match how my brakes feel or perform. When I tried to explain what I was experiencing, I was told my concern was based on "ChatGPT" and was dismissed instead of being shown the actual condition of the brakes. Now after some months vehicle is giving me the exact same problem and they now want to charge me a fee to do a diagnostic. Do not go to any Midas they will sell you on repairs that have no business being replaced. They do not do all the proper checks. Psi on tires were still the same (low). They duped me into replacing BOTH control arms because the car pulled a little common signs of an alignment. I ended up replacing BOTH control arms because they swore up and down that was the fix. I took my truck to Midas (8816 North Black Canyon Highway in Phoenix, AZ 85051) believing it was a quality auto repair shop and was assured that my issues and then some would be taken care of. They did an oil change (according to a web page that is no longer available) includes a multi-point check. Imagine my surprise when I didn't make it more than four miles and it caught on fire. Smoke and flames were coming from the engine area and the bed of the truck; melting the carpet under the console and jump seats. This was a scary situation for me as it would be for anyone. Midas doesn't know what happened. Insurance company is stalling. I have been told that I am in their debt, that they will make it right. and I am now without a vehicle a thousand miles away; guess good customer service wasn't that important. I am paying for repairs through the finance option Midas provided and still have no vehicle. I have reached out over 20 times between the insurance company and Midas to no avail. I feel like I have been more than patient and feel that since I no longer live there, I am out of sight, out of mind. read more

The experience I've had at this Midas compared to the one on central and southern will never make me come back to a Midas again. 6 months after my tires were put on my car I'm already having trouble with them. They're telling me it's my suspensions. (Mind you they lift my car up and let it sit there for 2 hours brought it back down and took it for a test drive. How can you tell it's not the tires if you never removed the tires to rebalance them another mechanic was using the only tire balance they have the entire two hours I was there so again. How would they know?) But I got a full diagnosis of my car from AAA and my suspension were completely fine. I asked them not to put my front window down because it's broken but according to them my window is fine. Lol it's not the glass is knocked off the frame that's holding it. I found this to be absolutely ridiculous and when i tried to make my point for why i shouldn't have to pay at all they asked "well, do you just want your car back?" So now i'm out ~$1000 with an AC system that doesn't work properly right before summertime. In the world of auto repair, these hard-working Midas mechanics are truly stand-up gentlemen. We brought in our 2005 SUV and agreed on a fair estimate/bid to do the needed work on it. Let me just say it involved transmission fluid and a leak. Prior to taking the car in, we had called several other auto repair shops and absolutely no one else would touch the car with a 10ft pole. We were told repeatedly to take it to the dealer. The dealer wanted a fortune to fix the issue plus the transmission fluid costs were outrageous in of itself, more than $80.00/quart with us needing at least 6 quarts. These guys took our car in, and despite the repair taking a bit longer than anticipated and being way more involved than they had planned (the car itself is a complete nightmare to work on - can you guess the make?) they honored the original bid. We were truly impressed with their dedication, honestly, professionalism, and their work. These guys are the real deal! Long wait, but so worth it! I took my car into this Midas today because I had hit a bump pretty hard in the past week and ever since my brake light had been going off. I was completely stressed because I don't have a lot of money to spend on car repair since I live pay check to pay check, but also have to have that car to get to get back and forth to work. Thinking Midas would be a cheap compromise to a traditional mechanic, I took my poor old banged up Saturn into them. I watched as the guys lifted and lowered my car several times, inspecting it with a flash light and clanging around with a wrench to see in anything was loose. That went one for about 2 hours, making me very nervous. Finally Don came to get me and show me what was wrong with me vehicle. First he showed me the underneath, pointing out that the only thing loose was my front fender. So of course I was still wondering why my brake light was going off. Then they lowered it, and Don showed me that the brake fluid was slightly low but not problematically so. But Saturn's are known for having very sensitive sensors (I know sounds silly) so they went ahead and topped off my brake fluid and told me go ahead and wait in lobby and they'd ring me up. Now I was expecting anywhere from $30-$60 for labor since the guys had spent so much time trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. I pulled out my wallet and patiently waited for Don to put all the info in the system and tally up the total. He folded up my paperwork and handed it to me and wished me a nice day. I asked how much I owed them, and he pointed out that the papers said I didn't owe a thing. So yes it took a chunk outta my day, But I got friendly and thorough service. These guys took the time and gave the courtesy that I wish all businesses would. I feel kind of bad that they didn't make a dime from me today, but they definitely will in the future since I am for sure a repeat customer at this place. I took my car in for a oil change around 12:40pm when my appointment was at 1pm and the nice woman at the counter said i could come back in 45 minutes. I told her i'd give them extra time just incase and that I'd be back at 2pm or a little after. I called at 2:30 pm to see if it was ready just to make sure and the man who answered seemed confused when i told him which car mine was. Then he said the oil change had not yet been done. I asked them to call me when it was done and he agreed. Well then at 4:35pm 25 minutes before they closed i called again and they said it had just been finished 15 minutes ago. My appointment was at 4 pm. I'm sure you can understand my frustration when once I ARRIVE, I am told that it is going to be at least 30 minutes before my appointment is even to start. It had nothing to do with the manager, he was very kind about it, but coming from a person who works at an appointment based customer service business, people aren't typically happy when you don't let them know ahead of time that you're running late. I called ahead and made an appointment for a reason, and then scheduled my entire day around said time. It's a little frustrating when there is no heads up about a change of plans. Future advice: use the phone number you take when booking an appointment and call the client scheduled if there are any schedule changes on your end so they don't have to sit and waste 40 minutes of their very precious time sitting in your waiting room! read more

They also said they would review cameras and call me back but no response even after I gave them the Chevy dealer who replaced my rotors. They'll always alert me to when something is wrong, but never make me feel pressured into any decisions. Today, I brought my car in for an electrical issue. I took my son's car in because the radiator decided to explode. $660 and less than 24 hours later, all of the radiator fluid was leaking again. I took it in again, and suddenly there is a problem with the fan. I think it's a problem with the chain of stores. When I took my other car to a different Midas, I spent almost $2,000 and had to get it fixed three different times. At another Midas, they had my car for over a month and charged me a couple of thousand for a problem that started happening again within a couple of weeks. I'm thinking the universe is trying to tell me to stop going to Midas. I go because I have a credit card I can use. read more
