I was hit by someone on my company car. Nothing bad but enough to need to be repaired. The person's insurance company, which was progressive, sent me to Kaizen Collision Center and I'm glad they did. They were very professional and the work they did was very good. Although I didn't have to pay, I did get a copy of the invoice and the pricing seemed very reasonable for the damage there was. My vehicle required significant cosmetic repair caused by a large piece of road debris. It had cracked windshield, dented hood and fender, scratched paint, etc. I selected this business because it is certified by Tesla to perform repairs and the workmanship and materials are warranted by my insurance company. After I scheduled the repair I read recent reviews of this business on Yelp that were unfavorable. I contacted the business prior to dropping off my vehicle to discuss concerns raised by the reviews. At the end of the conversation My concerns were alleviated and I was comfortable to proceed with the repair. As you can see from the picture, the quality of the vehicle repair was excellent. In addition, the office team were very polite, kept me aware of the status of the repair process along the way, and completed the repair ahead of the two weeks I anticipated it would take. My experience with Kaizen Collision Center at the Gilbert AZ location has been positive and I will return if I have future repair needs. Do know that if your vehicle insurance is Progressive you are likely to receive priority over other customers. (Yes, Flo from Progressive is well connected here ) I assume Kaizen implemented positive improvements since the previous negative reviews. I have many auto repair experiences with my vehicles over the years and I understand how there can be negative customer experiences if the business personnel are not customer and quality focused. Progressive suggested I go to Kaizen to have my truck repaired under insurance. What an awful experience. Where do I start. Communication was hit or miss. I kept getting automated texts that had no bearing on reality. I would call and most of the time, I did not get to talk to anyone other than the receptionist, Caroline. She faithfully took messages but getting a call back from the estimator/technician was very hit and miss. They seemed very defensive if I said anything that questioned their information or objected to what they were telling me. They were very confrontational. I also will say that when met with defensiveness or confrontation, I responded in kid to the confrontation. When I got ready to leave and they wanted the $500 deductible, I gave them my debit card as I will not pay the often charged #% for using a credit card. They then refused to take my debit card saying it did not have the Visa logo on it and it was called an ETM card. I have been using that for well over a dozen years at hundreds of locations. Putting the Visa logo on the card leaves it open for fraud as it does not need a a code from the card holder. They said well, too bad, their card reader was not programmed to take my card. I told them it was their problem and I would not pay the 3%. Small amount of money but the principle was important. They offered to call the friend that had given me a ride and have him come back to take me to a Wells Fargo to get a cashiers check. I said no. I offered to bring them a check the next day and they said they do not take personal checks. Finally after 30 minutes of arguing they realized I was not going to inconvenience myself to solve their problem. The last straw was that I had asked for a quote on a small dent on my truck and they gave me a quote for $2300. I got a quote from the dealer auto body for $550. I believe they over charged because it went to the insurance company. I will never use Kaizen again and consider they highly unethical. read more

The Gilbert location customer service is really bad. From the beginning I should have caught the signs of bad service. From the date of my estimate I waited 3 weeks to hear back. I had to call them. From there they booked my appointment 3 weeks later due to ordering the parts. Again I had to chase them to see when I can drop off my car. When I did drop it off. They gave me a one week turn around estimate. They advised me they would text me daily with updates. That never happened. After the first week I called them for an update. They told me they needed one more week. Additional part need to be ordered. After the third week they said one more part needed to come in and the front end would need to be aligned. After 4.5 weeks I finally picked up my car. And of course the fender is not aligned with the trim. "See photo below" This business is terrible with communication. Not once did they ever call me with updates. The only call I received was when it was ready to pick up. Plus the delays with ordering parts. This pic below is the finish product. They had my car done way before the estimated time too, which was awesome. My front bumper looks brand new. I had the unfortunate experience of working with Kaizen to repair my Tesla Model S. My car had minor damage to the rear bumper in August of '22 - still completely drivable and the damage was barely noticeable. They were able to get me in for initial assessment in November, they were then able to get my car in for repair in February, and then took my car for two full months for repair. I've had my Tesla repaired at other facilities before and while I know there can be a longer lead time for parts, I've never had it take half that long for more significant damage. While I can understand timelines can be delayed for factors out of a company's control, it makes communication and setting of expectations that much more important. Unfortunately, Kaizen was completely incompetent at both of these things. Weeks would go by with no communication, and any attempt to call on my part would be transferred to voicemail with zero follow-up. Meanwhile I had a long-term rental and had to deal with negotiation for extra coverage due to things taking so long. Furthermore, Kaizen lacked any sense of urgency. They had to take my vehicle to a Tesla shop for repair. Tesla eventually contacted me saying they had the car fixed for several days and were unable to get ahold of Kaizen to pick the vehicle up. So I had to try to mediate and push Kaizen to pick the car up, and even then they sat on it for several days. I eventually made the decision to order a new Tesla and trade my vehicle in once it was back from repairs. This was after Kaizen already had possession of the vehicle for over a month and assured me repairs were nearly complete. I had to request photos of the vehicle for a trade-in estimate but do you think Kaizen could help me with that? Yeah right. A few weeks later my newly ordered Tesla was ready for pickup. I had to delay my pickup appointment several times due to not having my vehicle back for trade-in. Finally after being completely unable to contact Kaizen to retrieve my vehicle, I drove to their body shop and refused to leave until they gave me my vehicle back. Talk about an incredibly uncomfortable experience. I eventually got it back after an hour and a half and directly paying the invoice. I'm now having to mediate getting reimbursed because it appears they may have made unauthorized repairs. What a mess. While repair options for Teslas are limited, I'm pretty sure you can't do worse than this place. Avoid at all costs. read more

Kaizen is the most unreliable, most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. We dropped our Tesla off for a tire alignment issue and a week goes by - no communication. We called repeatedly and either no one answers or they say someone will call us back...no one ever does. The quality of the work is excellent. The honesty, though, is not there. I've had two occasions to use them over the years. The first time it was just annoying that they needed twice as much time as they first told me. It was the second time that made me angry. So, for this second time I used them, I arrange to pick up my car, again a week later from what they first told me. Oh, they said, it turns out your battery was dead, so we replaced it, and, unfortunately, that's not covered by your insurance. I was already ticked, because the battery in the car was only 2 1/2 years old and I could have had the replacement discounted because of the warranty. Second, they put in a $200 7-year Lexus battery, when I was only planning to keep the car two more years. But it gets better. A couple of months later I'm leaving work and my car won't start. The battery was dead. Once I get it home, I charge it on my charger, but it seems that it keeps draining pretty quickly. Naive me, I figure since this is a brand new battery something must be wrong with my car's electrical system. I take it to my trusted mechanic. After all their tests they call me. No, they say, it's just a dead battery. They replaced it, and everything is fixed. So I call Kaizen to complain. The receptionist gets me to AJ, who runs the shop. I figure this was an oversight. The mechanic happened to give me someone else's old battery instead of a new one on the shelf. As an honorable, ethical business he'll just make it right. After all, it's only $200 out of $4000 worth of business that I gave him. No, that's not how they think at Kaizen. He demands proof. Okay, I say, I'll let you talk to the mechanic. He's not sure that will do. He says he'll get back to me. He never did. I'd sue them and I'd win, but it's not worth my time for the $200. read more

Stay Away, this shop is HIGHLY UNETHICAL. I took my Tesla in for minor repairs, when I went to pick up my vehicle I realized they caused a huge crack to my windshield. Michelle Wallace took photos and assured me that they would order the windshield right away after speaking to her supervisor. It's now been two months of back and forth that they would repair my windshield and I just received a call today that they were not going to repair my windshield because they claim my windshield "may" have been damaged prior when they have photos showing there was no previous damage. They tried to convince me to file a claim with my insurance carrier, and then they would repair. read more

I wanted to like this place but the work is shoddy. First time getting my car back there was two inches of water in the trunk because they didn't do a leak check and the "seam sealer" was missing. Visible interior bits of trunk lid weren't painted but there was overspray on the wiring bundle. There was also a gash and some damaged paint on one of the edges of the brand new trunk lid. Sent my car back to fix the problems and [about 10 days later] when I got it back the trunk seal was applied crooked, they didn't hook up one of the interior lights and a piece of trim wasn't properly fitted. (I fixed these issues myself). Also the trunk is sitting a bit too high and not flush. (Hopefully I can just have Tesla fix this remaining flaw.) I'll say the office staff are very nice, responsive, and apologetic at least. read more

I had work done on my vehicle here, and honestly, the work itself was great. That is not the issue for me. Unfortunately, the problem I had with this place was theft. An item that I had plugged into my stereo was not there when my car was returned to me. I called and spoke to someone who told me the guy who cleaned my car was at break and that I would hear back from them when he got back. Never got that call back. It wasn't anything expensive. And the item can be replaced. But customer's cars should absolutely not be treated with that level of disrespect. read more

One of the worst if not the worst collision center in Arizona. They kept lying week after week about the status with my vehicle . Within a month of them having my vehicle they had sent me a text update saying my vehicle was going into paint. I called a few days later and said they were still waiting on parts. It took Kaizen 5 months to fix my vehicle that didn't have major damage. If you don't want your vehicle to be out in the sun for months without getting worked on then DO NOT go to Kaizen. They are the worst, especially when it comes down to communicating with the customer. read more

I went to the new shop in Erie thinking it was under a different name (Previous name County Line Collision). They received their check under County Line Collision, but never did the process of changing the check to their name. They neglected to say that they were under new administration or called to say that they were the new owners. The person over the phone said that my car would be completed by Wednesday. This did not happen. After calling on Thursday and Friday, they finally called and said they were waiting for approval. I called the insurance company and got the approval. They said that they will not give me my car back until they get all their money, even though they knew they needed to do this process before hand. This is the worst costumer service ever. I was in an auto accident back in roughly a year ago by a new driver making a U-turn and ended up hitting my front driver side... my radiator and everything in front and what was behind it was ruined. Leaked a ton of liquid. Became no longer drivable. My insurance sent my vehicle here to get body work done before any engine work. But got it all done here. Took them I think 2 months ish for me to even get my car back. And once I did my vehicle lasted me 8 driving hours total before it blew up the radiator and started smoking. When my boyfriend and I were contemplating on going out into the desert to shoot our guns OR go test drive some vehicles for a future purchase of upgrading our vehicles to something better on gas.... anyways, and LUCKLY we decided to go to the dealership because as soon I drove 6miles and parked it in a spot at the dealership, my vehicle blew.... this experience was horrible and left us kinda stranded. Insurance wouldn't answer. Nothing. Blah blah blah... needless to say cant rely on the insurance I had NOR this place whom worked on my vehicle, which left us driving away with me having a reliable vehicle. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! they do however do okay body work. But be weary of their work due to appearances can be very misleading... OHH and one more thing, the owner contacted me about a bad review stating what I stated above and he didn't like that and wanted to make it better. He promised us that he would give my $500 deductible back and fix any minor scratches on one our vehicles to better the review.... WELL, here I am writing another review to state that the OWNER DOESN'T STAY TRUE TO HIS WORD! He refuses to contact me back to send me at least my deductible! I don't know how everyone else was raised, but I was raised you state and promise something you stay true to it! needless to say my trust is very much broken and have been sharing my review with friends, family, peers and my global coworkers. I went to Kaizen to fix body damage to my new Toyota. The experience was excellent in all respects. They have an initial online appraisal tool where I could submit photos, and then they responded to me immediately after I submitted it (like, within less than a minute). They were able to have me bring the car in immediately. They handled everything with my insurance company, and they contacted me several times so that I was kept fully informed at every step. The customer service was really great. The repair was top notch. I can't even tell where the damage was! And best of all, they got it all done very fast -- days sooner than I expected. So I dropped my Tesla model S off here 3 months ago. They are Tesla approved service center and Progressive recommended them. Most of the damage was fairly minor. Dent on hood. Front bumper damaged. Suspension had been damaged. All things considered, probably a 2-6 week job for most cars and companies, depending on what you are paying. I paid for a rental for 2 months. After 2 months I became irate at the delays...because every time I called they kept pushing out the date. Finally after 2 months, they put me in a rental because I kept complaining. Then after another month of driving a crappy rental. They told me the car would be ready on Friday (July 26th). They called me the morning of the 26th...As the car was leaving the service center they damaged the car driving out of the shop. I am so frustrated with Kaizen and Tesla. Communication has been as close to horrible as possible. With me always being the one to reach out. The people I talk to (Eddy, Naomi) are nice people....but their business is really upsetting me with their delivery of quality and timely service. First of all I have been in the towing industry for 30 years and have seen a lot of body shops good and bad. The people at Kaizen are true pros and have the best personalities I have seen. They make you feel like you are a special customer. Jacob the owner is such a nice person to talk to and Eddie the manager takes you through the repair process almost step by step. It's never a good circumstance to be visiting an auto collision shop but my visit here was more than remove and replace. I had went here for an estimate in July and was greeted with understanding and sympathy. Out of 5 other auto collision places (4 star rated and above in East Valley), Desert Mountain Collision gave me the lowest quote. Naturally I went with them to save money but after getting it back, it was like my accident never happened. Ray Heys was my estimator and talked to me during each process. He gave me a realistic and specific time frame of completion and it was to the T. He provided me with some photos when parts where removed and were being painted. Eddie Yanez (production manager) handed me the keys when I picked it up and talked to me about the process. He noticed a spot that needed attention in a separate area and he took care of it right then. He offered advice on other areas and preventable tips to the paint. Excellent service. Own an F-150. Needed tail light replaced along with damage to my rear fender and tail gate repaired and repainted. Dropped it off 12/26. Got my truck back today 1/3. Very timely considering the 2-3 day hold period for my insurance adjuster to show up and review the damage. Not to mention the holidays. Ramon was very cool and upfront about everything, and Naomi was extremely nice and professional. Left my enterprise rental with the shop to be returned. kaizen is truly the worst place to get your car fixed at. Progressive sent me here thats the only reason i came here. At first they were really awesome! heres my issue, i guess kaizen only does body work and mechanical work they send to Desert car care. They sent my car there to get my aglingment done.. i picked my car up from Desert car care, not even from Kaizen. i drove it for a week and my car was going to the right, i brought it back to kaizen only to drive to desert car care to have them align it again. Desert car care cant fix the alignemnt so kaizen send me to my dealership to do a test on it, my aligenment fails. why would they give me my car back without checking it and making sure its driveable..now ive been driving around for two weeks with my car jacked up, have to get new tires now. my dealership is now fixing kaizens mistakes behalf of kaizen.. NOWWW!!! Almost 3 weeks later my bumper fell off.. which they replaced with after market products not even a new Nissan bumper. My insurance agreed to pay for another bumper and install it.. I dropped my car off once the bumper has arrived for them replace it.. only to tell me that I hit a curb and they won't replace it.. I drive two miles to work How the he would I have done that? They are all of a sudden private investigators that can't even fix a car properly the first god damn time. Don't ever talk to Eddie or any of the other damn guys. They will threaten to not even work on your car. Very unprofessional and weak customer service skills. They just trying to rip you off. They fixed the bumper.. didn't replace it.. when it doesn't properly fit on my car. I get home that same day and my bumper is already coming off again. You can see the shitty glue they used as well. Such a bullshit company, but hey I'm just a girl that doesn't know what she's talking about. Here's pictures. Now I'm going to another shop and getting a brand new bumper! They had our car for a little over 2 months, said everything was good when we picked it up only for us to have to turn around the next day to take it back to them to fix things they said were already fixed. Then we had to take it back again because things they had "fixed" on our car were falling off! Word of mouth reference is everything to us, DMC was our mechanics absolute recommendation above all others. Desert Mountain Collision is a hidden gem especially if you don't live in the East Valley. Twice in the past year I've been referred to them by my insurance company to work on late model Lexus luxury vehicles. Expectations of body shops are always low, but EVERYONE at Desert Mountain collision is pleasant, professional and empathetic. They really care about you, your vehicle and getting you back on the road. Their prices are more fair than most and their integrity is higher than most. Your car leaves their lot the same way it left the showroom. From Dawn, their receptionist to Ray, one of their estimators, I've always been treated with great respect and care. They actually care about you- they not only call you back, they call to give you updates. My insurance company uses them, which is how I found them, but you always have a choice in picking your own shop. A similar shop or "luxury"'specialist shop would take a month or more on my 2014 Lexus Hybrid- $13K worth of damage including deployed airbags...Ray knew I needed MY vehicle for upcoming Phoenix Open and Super Bowl and they got it done in a little over two weeks!!! They're courteous, friendly, professional, and even though I live near Fountain Hills, I'm thrilled to drive to Gilbert to work with them. Kudos to their whole team. You actually feel taken care of and cared for-again, at a stressful time with a brand new wrecked car, Dawn at the front desk is always pleasant, has a great sense of humor, doesn't put you on long holds and gets you answers. They FAR exceed any expectations of a body shop of any type. Honest, fair, reasonable, and top quality work. Regardless of where you are in the Valley, if you have a small dent or a huge wreck, I would give this company 10 stars if I could. I cannot say enough positive things about Desert Mountain Collision. I was recommended to go there from a friend immediately after my accident in my brand new car. I received a call the same day that my car was dropped off from the towing company from Keith and he let me know the process. He was kind, understanding, and very knowledgeable. They worked fantastically with my insurance company and kept not only them, but me up to date on the status of my repairs. Each time Keith would call, he went above and beyond with my expectations. I went to pick up my car yesterday, and the gentleman at the desk was very kind as well, and was also very knowledgeable. I took my car on a 400 mile road trip since yesterday and I can honestly say that it drives like it is brand new. I am so impressed with their work and feel very safe in my car.
