The Also, not a big deal, but they don't have a waiting area, so you have to sit out in the hot sun while the work was being finished (major downside in austin summer). Overall: Going here was a mistake. They've gotten good reviews in the past for being a solid budget used tire place, but something must have changed in recent years.. Not a terrible place, but nothing to write home about. If you want a great deal/experience -- i had great luck with Austin Tireman a few months back. Very up front about prices, honest, very affordable, good quality, excellent service, no bs experience, you will leave feeling good, and they have a waiting area. They've got my business in the future and all my friends/family. (i would've gone there instead, but they were closed that day)

It did not (like a child digging in their heels). At this point, I accepted that my car had entered its "I'm tired and I quit" era. Cue roadside assistance....Alpha Roadside Services and Battery. Thankfully, help arrived before I had time to spiral into Googling "How to survive permanently stranded in your driveway." The roadside assistance technician showed up calm, professional, and completely unfazed by my dramatic retelling of events. Within minutes, they diagnosed the issue, got things sorted out, and brought my car back to life like some kind of automotive wizard. What could have turned into a full‑blown inconvenience (or emotional breakdown) ended up being quick and painless. No lectures, no eye‑rolling...just efficient help and a running vehicle again. The car was not tired, but the battery was a bit weak. While roadside service was free through our insurance plan, we had to pay for battery, which was reasonably priced. Thanks to roadside assistance, my car is no longer staging protests, and I can once again go about my day pretending this never happened. I figured such convenience would come with a premium and that I could get a better deal at Auto Zone, so I passed and just asked for a jump. Big mistake!! When I got to AutoZone, they didn't even have a 5yr battery for my truck. The 4yr they had they said "would work" but wasn't fitted properly for my vehicle so "might move around" (say what???). AND their batteries were more expensive. So I called Jimmel and he offered to meet me at my house where he got me taken care of in a jiffy. Better batter, lower price, more convenient and it comes with the same warranty you'd get when buying at a store like Auto Zone or anywhere else. Plus Jimmel is just a super nice and very friendly person to deal with! Will definitely call Alpha Roadside next time I'm in need!

I got great quick feedback about the repair needs and was recommended for an oil change. I noticed on the vehicle repair report that was texted to me that the technician clocked my vehicle mileage at about 41,000. I deep down knew that wasn't correct, but when I saw it clocked in the report, I just thought I must have misremembered the mileage. So I okayed the oil change. Service was very quick and I was notified that my car was ready same day that I agreed to the repairs. I do love that, because I hate being without my car. So they get 3 stars still for quick service. Fast forward to the morning I picked my car up. It was 8 am, and the manager Adrian Perez starts laying into me hardcore mansplaining for 8 minutes about my poor choice of not getting an oil change at 5,000 miles. He could tell by my body language that I was not receptive, backed off for a second, and then laid into me for another 5 minutes, lecturing me about different engine types, how his truck's engine is superior to my car's little engine, and blah blah blah. I could tell the millennial tech Andy was cringing while his boss proceeded to spew this patriarchal bullshit at me. Anyhoo, I'm polite while listening to the manager's diatribe. I just want to get my car and go to work. Finally, when I get in my car, I realize my gut feeling was correct: my car only has 36,000 some odd miles on it, and I found the oil change sticker Lambs gave me, which stated that I WASN'T DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE UNTIL 38,000 some odd miles. So, I'm not mad that they got my mileage wrong, and I paid for an early oil change. I'm pissed that Adrian Perez talked down to me like I was a child. I'm a grown ass woman and paying customer. A simple "We recommend an oil change every 5,000 miles" would have sufficed. I update my review to warn women: Adrian Perez may mansplain shit to you. But the other guys at the shop so far seem respectful.

It can be intimidating to go to an auto repair shop, especially as a single woman, but the folks there never talk down to me or pressure me on high-cost repairs. I also love that I get to see photos of things that do need a repair though, little touches like that help build trust!

They operate 24/7, and unbelievably, they did not charge extra for an after-hours emergency call, nor was there any type of travel fee. This alone speaks volumes about their integrity and customer care. I had a blowout in my kid's Tesla on a Friday night around 9:30 PM, and within 45 minutes of calling, they were already on-site changing the damaged tire. I assumed they would put a slightly used tire on, however it was a brand new tire. The total cost for their services was less than what I would have paid at a tire shop just to purchase one tire, which is incredible given the convenience and speed. The only reason I went back to discount tire today to use the road hazard warranty that I had purched when replacing these tires last month was purely for my OCD ways and wanting my set of 4 tires to match. The two technicians who arrived were extremely polite, professional, and understanding, knowing how eager we were to get safely back on the road. The payment process was also seamless -- they accepted Zelle, making it one of the easiest parts of an already smooth experience. Huge thanks to David and his coworker for their outstanding service and for getting us back on the road so quickly. I will absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs tire service. It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc.

It was easy to make the appointment to have the Jeep towed in and they got back to me by the end of the day with the diagnostic. My brake line had blown out and they were going to replace it. The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. The people at Juke actually care about their customers and I recommend them to everyone I know.

TERRIBLE COMPANY! DONT GO HERE! (Unless you want to get ripped off) The $19.99 coupons for oil change you get from Safeway and other grocery stores are a SCAM! I brought my car here a couple times in the past for oil changes and the service was completed as promised. Today, I brought my car there and when I arrived, I told them I was here for an oil change. The guy punched my car info into their computer system and he told me that they cannot do any more oil changes for me. WHATTTT????? What kind of business refuses service to loyal paying customers? He went on to explain to me that there was a note in the computer system that says they cannot and will not perform any more oil changes for my vehicle. I was completely blown away. He went on to tell me that they don't make any money off oil changes and they basically make $ from performing other services (like 60K tune ups, selling tires, or doing break jobs). He told me that if I don't get any maintenance or service done there that they can no longer do oil changes for me. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!! They basically refused service to a long time paying customer. The $19.99 coupons for oil change you get from Safeway and other grocery stores are a SCAM! That's what they use to get you in and when your car is there, they use that as their opportunity to RAPE YOUR WALLET! This is where they recommend brake replacements, suspension work, fluid changes (tranny, coolant, etc), battery replacement, and just about any other thing they can find to make $ off of you. If you read other reviews, this is exactly what they do to everyone. Get you in, recommend high $ services (and they tell you these services must be performed immediately), and get you to pay them lots of $$$. I understand that this is normal practice at any oil change/service center, but to REFUSE SERVICE to a paying customer is just taking it way too far. read more

My experience with Midas on Guadalupe beyond bad. They did not fix my truck after repeated promises and 14 days in their shop, charged me about $1200 more than the estimate, and actually had my truck towed from my house without my knowledge or permission after I successfully challenged their horrible service. I took my truck to Midas to have an air conditioner installed. They told me it would take one day to complete. I use my truck for work so this was important to me. Midas did not finish the work until 11 days later, and when I got the truck, the air condition they installed didn't work. They also charged me about $1200 more than the estimate. I took it back two more times and they still did not fix it. I challenged the payment on my credit cards with evidence from two other reputable local mechanics that Midas didn't do the work correctly. One of my credit card companies found for me and refunded about half the payment. I still didn't have a working air conditioner and it paid Midas some money for parts. However, about 9 months later, with no notice or warning and without my permission, Midas actually had my truck towed from in front of my house and unlawfully repossessed it. After repeated attempts to resolve this, they have not returned my truck and I had to get help to deal with this situation. I strongly recommend that you do not take your car or truck here. read more

The manager himself (Eddie) was dishonest and rude! They dented my car on both sides (the lift was not properly set in place). When I told them, they said "it's not a major damage and there are other scratches in that area anyways..." and that "we do the same thing with all cars." Note that this is also a Lexus, so it's not cheap to fix that damage. They didn't take any responsibility for the damage and still charged me the full amount. In addition, they lied to me about the brand of oil used. They said they would use Valvoline brand name and they used a different one. When asked, he said the technician doesn't know what he's talking about. I know the technician was the nice and honest guy. They should be ashamed of themselves! Not to mention on top of all this, they took two hours just to do a 10 minute oil change. When I came in, they said it wouldn't take any longer than 40 mins. ZERO stars. I went in for a replacement filter and I was given the stereotypical mechanic rundown from Tyler and Ben. I was pressured and bullied into getting over $800 worth of repairs done! I was later informed that none of this was necessary when I brought my car to GroovyLube near the Hancock center. The mechanic/manager Tyler was so misogynistic and verbally ran through the "problem" while making my car sound like the tires were going to roll off if I didn't get this service done. This franchise is skating by on lying, cutting corners, and holding customer's money for hostage. My experience was so significant that I decided to take the time to inform the Northloop/HydePark/Univeristy area to WATCHOUT for this slum franchise that supports bullying and robbery. My car is at 60k miles and is a 2018 Toyota. I was lucky enough to find a trusted mechanic in the neighborhood but I highly recommend to STAY AWAY FROM MIDAS @ 4001 GUADALUPE STREET!!! read more

I went to Midas for just a oil change and tire rotation for a deal I got from Groupon I come in they check me in and the only thing good was the service & I was out in a hour.. thanks to tech Tyler that works in the shop there. As I get my keys and proceed to my car to head back on the road the Hispanic big body built instigating ass manger that works there that was being standoffish inside and unprofessional was standing behind me with a female that I guess her bf was pissed at the shop from what I overheard as I back out SLOWLY to get back on the road cause I had a meeting, they move to the side with both my front windows down the Hispanic instigating bitch ass manger tells me what are you doing very confrontational which to I respond " backing up to get back on the road" I get ready to exit to Guadalupe and I hear someone scream from 500 feet away " fuck him too". very unprofessional management here wouldn't recommend. read more

Had a Jeep Patriot in need of mounts. Called the dealership for a quote. Called Auto Specialist for a quote. Both well over $2000 for the job - suggesting I tackle other replacements that I would eventually need down the road. Called Midas and Jeremy was very straight forward "only fix what's broken" - that made sense to me! I took the car in and Midas found I also needed new brakes. All said and done, the price was well UNDER $2,000 originally quoted and for that I got struts, mounts, brakes, sway bar and a lifetime warranty. How can you beat that?!!! What's more the dealership couldn't have gotten me in quickly. AS charged me $100 just to look at the car while Midas had me out and back on the road by mid afternoon. I would highly recommend Jeremy and his crew on Guadalupe. Don't waste your time calling around or paying for a diagnosis. Call Midas!! read more

Midas in Austin (2712 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78745) Replaced my rear passenger seat door lock on 6/11. The technician broke my door panel and the manager name Eddie Rodriguez told me that they will take care of it. I made about 10 calls past 4 weeks they still don't have any solution although they told me they will give me a call back.Now he transferred to the Guadalupe location and telling me he is no longer responsible. Midas staffs from both stores are very rude, not talking the responsibility of the damage they made to my car during the repair and pointing finger at each other. When the hell are you guys going to resolve this damn issue ? I highly recommend everyone not to get service at Midas you will lose your ass if your car damages because they don't give a damn. read more

These guys are very understanding when it comes to money, and offered me some different options regarding what all I could have fixed for my brakes to keep the costs down and still allow me to drive safely! I definitely appreciated that a lot, since I'm used to a lot of places that will really push you into doing everything at once. They also explained what the parts of the car that were being fixed do, like the rotors on the front brakes, and how much braking is split between front and back, and that was very helpful since I don't have much car knowledge at all. All in all it was a very good experience, and I'll definitely continue to turn to Midas for future repairs! read more

I came in to Midas about 3 weeks ago with a nail in the side wall of one of my tires. These guys were very helpful and quick with finding me a new tire and getting me on my way. Today, I had to go back due to another object stuck in that same tire. Thankfully I had the warranty on that tire. I also had them change my oil and check my brake system out. Unfortunately, I have to get new rotors and brake pads on the rear. I am so lucky that these guys are just around the corner from my work. I visited this location on 6/22/20. I observed "Customer Service" that blew me away. I wouldn't have ever thought they were short staffed. My wait wasn't long and they rolled customers out of there with ease. No long waiting time and they explained everything as they went along. I will use this location from now on. Have gone in for multiple car problems. They have always gotten back to me in a timely manner with reasonable prices. I have only had to leave my car there once overnight and thats because I brought it in late in the day with no appointment. Phone calls are always answered and rarely if ever put on hold. Nicest staff too. Only issue I ever had was sitting in the waiting room awhile upon walking in because there was no one and no bell at the front desk (add a bell at the front desk and you guys will be golden) read more

My brakes suddenly went out one Tuesday afternoon and I took my car into Midas, since it's close to my house. They were very helpful and able to get my brakes and rotors replaced the same afternoon. They also advised me that my front brakes would need to be replaced soon, rather than trying to get me to do it that's same day. I appreciated the honesty and I have already been back for an oil change. It's also nice they always have coupons available as well! read more

They had originally quoted me a price to do some exhaust work done, but through a mistake in the computer, it should have charged me much more. I had the BEST experience when I had to get my car towed here for a general inspection. Effron and Miguel (? I think that's his name he was the guy at the front desk) were SO knowledge and friendly, serviced my car very quickly and no loops/short-cuts/rip -offs. You can stroll for a couple of minutes, grab a bite and come back to find the job done. Service was super friendly and accommodating. I was in and out in 10 minutes and there was a guy ahead of me. The waiting room is comfortable and chilled, with a handful of somewhat interesting magazines.

I ask a mechanic a lot of questions and I make sure that what is done to them is appropriate. Kevin at Hondacure puts my mind at rest. These guys seem to genuinely like and appreciate Hondas and I think they even possibly understand my addiction. They own Preludes themselves and you gotta love that. These cars are just a bit finicky and I don't trust them to just anyone. My cars have been seeing them for at least three years and I have very happy with the results. I found them when my 2001 needed a timing belt and I was shopping around for a good Honda specialist because my previous experiences in Austin were not good. I wasn't happy with the dealership and another Honda place that shall remain nameless who ripped me off. (Initials are RS). Kevin at Hondacure, however, said all the right things and then quoted me a price substantially less than the dealership. They did a great job on the timing belt and everything that goes with that and I have kept going back with no regrets. They also fixed up my ailing '90 Si, that I have owned since about 1994 and even cleaned my engine last time I was there and ran it through the car wash. It runs like a top now. I love that car more than chocolate. So -- if you have a Honda, or any other import for that matter ( I think they also work on a lot of Toyotas and Mazdas), go to Hondacure. Tell them the crazy lady with the Preludes sent you. : )

I found this garage when I had to get my brakes checked after my uncle worked on them. I had called at least 6 places and Jesse quoted me the best price, by far. Also, he is located very centrally (183 & Lamar-ish) Jesse was professional and friendly. He explained everything in a way I could understand the issue at hand, without being condescending. The work was done before the end of the work day. (Breaks had to be re-bled.) I also went on to get my A/C checked. That was very easy and quick! I'm glad I found this gem of a mechanic. The technicians did thorough diagnostic work and the repairs, while expensive, were legitimate and necessary. I want to specifically thank Ike and Martin for how they treated me as a customer. Ike was friendly and went out of his way to help by giving me a ride home and later making sure I was able to get the loaner car when it had been made unavailable. Martin was also professional and supportive throughout the process. My main issue was with the service management, specifically Deon. The loaner car option was not brought up when it should have been, and after a frustrating phone call about the situation, Deon immediately called me back to ask if I wanted the loaner. From a customer service perspective, that follow-up was poorly timed and escalated the situation instead of de-escalating it. When a customer is already upset about communication and options not being presented earlier, calling back right away without acknowledging that tension makes things worse, not better. The shop clearly has capable technicians and helpful front-facing staff, but the way the situation was handled at the service management level added unnecessary stress to an already difficult and expensive repair. Their prices are either in line or slightly less than dealership prices, and they do stand behind their work. This is their only location that can handle luxury cars like my Mercedes. It was time to do the schedule B service on my C300. It is the 60,000 mile or 10 year service and it runs about $1500 on average. And that's not including the transmission service. It's also a 3 to 4 hour job, which is why it's best to have someone pick you up. You can sit in their small basic waiting room where you can find complementary water and coffee. There are some places within a few blocks of walking such as Taco Cabana or Mandolas where you could spend some more quality time waiting. They have a very skilled service tech who also works on BMWs as well. They also work on EV's although that work is limited. They had my schedule B service done in 3 1/2 hours and were able to save me a couple hundred dollars making it just $1300. I was also not charged a credit card fee. Will be returning for future maintenance. Informative photos included.

Now when it comes to pricing, they've gotta pay their Airport Blvd. rent. They charge steep prices on labor and somewhat surged prices on parts; however, everything they service comes with a warranty from the date of service. Two years or 24,000 miles from the date of service, they will re-repair whatever ailment your vehicle has experienced and, trust me, I have done it. The staff is to-the-point with no frills. They give you a call when your car is ready like a regular mom and pop. They are honest with estimates of repair schedules and are right 90% of the time. I love these guys!

I approved the work and they said that would call when the car was ready first thing in the morning. I wait until 12pm to check on my car and it's still hasn't been test driven. I follow up again at 3pm and the car still wasn't driven. I have to show up in person at 3:30pm for the car to be test driven, and guess what! It fails the test! They claim they didn't misdiagnose the problem originally and quoted me another $2500 to fix the steering, which should have been told to me originally. A complete waste of time and money, and my car isn't even fixed.
