But a one hour wait and $65 later, I'm mildly satisfied, because they were able to quickly do a 2-in-1 service. Both my left front blinker and rear brake light were out! TLDR: Firestone guys gave my appointment away and tried to screw me out of $700 for an easy fix. Called in on a Monday to schedule an alignment for Tuesday (about a month or so ago). When I showed up on a Tuesday for my scheduled alignment they had given my appointment slot to someone else even though I showed up 10 minutes early to the appointment. Although irritated, I rescheduled my appointment for the next day (Wednesday) and had no more issues with scheduling. On the day of my appointment the front desk guy Tyler was very kind but also pushing very hard for me to take part in their Firestone credit card and to take part in their sale, while trying to sell me extra things I didn't need. I know it's part of his job but it was unsettling. I also asked for a copy of the alignment papers from the machine and they told me they ran out of white paper and only had yellow paper. Seemed like an excuse that they blamed their store manager for. Then the mechanic Alec, who seemed like an honest guy, pointed out that a bolt was loose and I needed to replace my control arm and ball joint. He tried to tighten it with a crowbar and wrench but it wasn't working well. Both Tyler and Alec quoted me roughly $700 to fix the car. ~$177 for labor (which is fair) and ~$550 for the part (complete rip off). So, I got my own part and had another mechanic take a look and he said the part was unnecessary, just needed to tighten the bolt. This mechanic tightened it correctly and saved me ~$700. Overall these Firestone guys were just preying on people who don't how to fix their cars. Poor business model, if they wanted repeat customers, they should be honest and not take advantage of people. I don't know if it's their fault exactly but....I couldn't book an appointment online because the website is down/it wouldn't let me sign in. So I called and the woman booked me for the same day. She said to make sure to get an email. she wasn't clear that if there is no confirmation email then the store did not accept the appointment. So I show up and that's what happened. Then I book for later that week. Wheel alignment and tire rotation. That's all. I show up and they said it'll take about 4 hours when I planned to stay there, partly due to staff calling out. so I rescheduled for a time when I could drop it off and come back for it. if you make an appointment, shouldn't that take precedence over cars that get dropped off? like work on those cars when/if you have time since people make an appointment...anyways third time is a charm. drop off the car. I get a call. I have a nail in one of the back tires. Then they suggested that I change the engine gas air filter. since I have no idea I say ok. fine. the total comes up to a little over $100 for everything. $30 for tire rotation and wheel alignment (I have the lifetime plan) and then $40 for the air filter and then $20 to plug the hole left in the tire from the hole. At check out, I was shown photos on his phone of the alignment stats but no photos of the nail or the air filter. It makes me feel...taken advantage of because I have no idea if it was all done. I guess will go back down to the Firestone down south of off Willian cannon because there I can wait for my car. hopefully the tire rotation and wheel alignment was done correctly. read more

We have used this location for Firestone for a long time and it just seems to be declining in quality over time. Today was the last straw for us and we'll be finding some other auto repair place that has better customer service. Specifically, the splash guard on our Accord partially detached and we need a new one. When my husband called in, Cody was so unhelpful it was almost funny. My husband asked if there was a way that we wouldn't have to bring the car in twice (mostly because we have a 6 month old that makes it tough to schedule days without a car but also because the guard hits/drags on the ground sometimes so it doesn't feel the safest to drive.) Cody didn't even pretend to be helpful. We've been bringing in the same car for years - it's in their system along with the vin. I could go in and order the part myself as long as I know the year, make, model, and and L engine - and they have all this information. It's not that hard. DO NOT COME TO THIS FIRESTONE! They will damage (ripped my front bumper off) your vehicle and will NOT try to do anything bout it. Their level of professionalism (joking about their mistakes to you) and communication (if you don't pester them don't expect a return call or reach out from management) about an issue they caused is the worst I've experienced. They do NOT believe in fair compensation and will avoid you to handle matters. If you do have a problem handle it LEGALLY with them. I do not do reviews at all. This is in fact my first ever review I've written. On 12/5 I came to this Firestone after my tire shredded on Mopac and I decided to tow my Tesla to the nearest shop to replace one tire. I replaced all four tires in what was an entire day ordeal. 12/6 the next day I come back after unfortunately getting a nail in my tire and unknowingly having a cracked rim causing a leak. As the employee parked my tesla, which I expected he knew is lower to the ground, onto a curb and rips my entire front bumper off. The technician sees me says "Aww f$@k" and starts panicking. Upset because this is the sixth problem with my vehicle within the span of two days I walk away to notify my gf and breathe before assessing the situation and damage. I got back to my car 2 mins later to find the same tech desperately trying to reattach my bumper with his hands without my permission and photo evidence needed to ensue legal actions. I head inside to notify to the management where I can see that same tech cutting through the shop to beat me to inform other staff. After waiting 2 hrs in was an effort to secure my bumper on by multiple staff, which I appreciated, I personally ask to go have a talk with store manager Moy. Mind you at no point was I ever apologized to for them ripping off my bumper. The most said to me was a tech walking by jokingly saying "Mann, that's Teslas for ya" and another tech telling me he physically kicked my bumper to check to see if it was secured on. I asked Moy to see what can be done for the experience I just went through where I was told to wait until Monday 12/9 at 10am where Moy can speak with his boss. Monday comes and I'm told I will receive a call back from either Moy or his I assume regional manager to discuss compensation. I was never called. This inclined me to call two more times hours apart throughout that day to ask for any updates. I was put off again. I repeat this process 12/10 and 12/11 of calling with no return calls where finally I was told I would be comped the four tires I bought as their "fix", again only after I asked for it. My four tires costed $1051 my bumper used or new was roughly $1400-$1500 without shipping or service fees. I was told the tires were all "they could do". In response I asked to speak to the regional manager (Moy's boss) where I was told I couldn't have his number and that he would reach out to me, I write this today 12/14, eight days past the initial incident having still not spoke with the regional manager and with no resolution them rectifying my costly experience. Initially, I had no problem with this fire stone and even wasn't angry about the bumper incident leaving a message to tell the tech that caused the damage that "I'm not mad and I understand accidents happen" before I left. It was only when I was toyed with over the phone, and brush aside after being forgiving and understanding of the accident that I became frustrated. My kindness and forgiveness was assumed I could be walked over. As a business, you mess up, you fix it and you go out of your way to ensure your customer satisfaction: I've received the opposite experience and for that, I'm furious. read more

I had two cars fail on the same day, one- the brakes were metal on metal and undrivable, the second was a Tahoe where the radiator had cracked, no coolant and had to be towed in from Wimberley. Firestone at Northcross went the extra mile, worked late, and got both cars repaired in one day. Firestone at Northcross also replaced a harmonic balancer on a 5.0 Mustang (it was fun driving that car to their store), engine heater hoses to firewall Tahoe, and other not so typical car work. Where do I start. Asked to change oil, rotate tires and check brakes. We looked at front brakes and seen that the pads are at pull point. They put it back together after I told them to do it then claimed that they couldn't get the rotors. Had to take to a different location and the idiots lost my hubcap. Dave yourself a headache and take to another location. Also bathroom was filthy and no towel and floor cover in grease and dirt. No coffee or water. My husband decided to give them a call and was told he needed to call them to set up an appointment which really didn't make sense to us based on past experiences with them but okay. I started coming here about a year ago when I needed a ton of work done on my car after it had been sitting due to the pandemic. In under a day they got it starting again and running like new. I was expecting to pay at least 1k what with having old gas flushed and replaced, the battery replaced, oil replaced, etc., but it was only a few hundred, and then it was running like new again. The other day I went back to have my AC fixed, and I was helped by the same guy at the front desk. He's definitely doing the job of several people what with the hiring issues every company is dealing with now, but he's handling it like a champ. I never had to wait too long even with his phone ringing off the hook. If you're trying to call in from 5-7, definitely expect a wait though, they don't have a call center or anything like that. My AC is running better than ever of course. I never thought it could get so cool so quickly while idling. That all being said, they're usually very busy, so if you see the lot is full and need something done while you wait, you might be better off somewhere else. The smallest thing I've had done was a state inspection, and I think it was a bit over an hour, maybe closer to two hours including drop off /pick up. If you can, drop it off in the morning and try to pick it up before the after work rush. They've always been fast to get large amounts of work done, they can just get swamped with customers, especially after 5. As awesome as their guy at the desk is, his computer can only check people out so fast, lol read more

Update: After all this happened I did ended up calling their corporate headquarters and filing a complaint. They said somebody would get with me in a couple of days and that was a week ago. So obviously corporate doesn't even care. I also went and bought a device for $15 on Amazon to recalibrate the tire pressure monitors and did that myself and it worked. So they basically did not recalibrate them and wanted to charge me $50 to do that I ended up spending $15 out of pocket and figuring it out myself, but it was better than paying them $50 that they did not deserve! I cannot begin to say how disappointed I was in my experience here. I used to go to this Firestone up until a few years ago and then switched to an NTB because it was a little bit closer to my house and the Firestone had gone under new management and the new people did not seem very pleasant. I don't know whether being under new management man a new manager or if these are franchises that people buy, and somebody bought this franchise from someone else. This last experience will be the last time I ever go there. What happened was this, I called and set up an appointment last week on Tuesday to go in and have an oil change, my tires rotated, and a state inspection. I went and dropped off the car at the appointment time and they said it should be ready in a few hours and I went home. 4 hours later I called and asked about the status of my vehicle, and they had not even started working on it yet. The man told me it would be another few hours and I told him I would be there in two to pick it up. When I got there, he was making excuses about the heat. I understand the heat is bad in Austin right now, but you should plan for it accordingly and not make your customers wait. I have often had to work outside in this type of weather, and I understand where he's coming from, but I've made allowances for it and don't promise things that I cannot do. The other thing that bothered me was the fact that they immediately tried to sell me a $100 oil change with full synthetic oil which I did not need as my car was not high mileage at 56,000 miles. If I had gone over to the jiffy Lube down the street I could have been in and out of there in half an hour without a tire rotation. So, I got the car back and within a few days the sensor for my tire pressure monitors on one of my tires was low. I thought was surprising since I would have assumed they would have checked the pressure on the tires when they rotated them. I checked the tires and the pressure is fine so I called them up asking if they had made sure that the tires relearned the pressure like you have to do with these type of vehicles which is one of the reasons I was hesitant to go back because they did this same thing on my last vehicle. Instead of offering to look at it the man on the phone tried to tell me that one of the sensors had gone on and might need to be replaced. He said to bring it in, and they would check but they wanted to charge me $50 to do it. To me that was completely unacceptable. I did call Firestone corporate and filed a complaint, but I will not be going back there no matter what happens, and I would strongly suggest anybody else think twice before going over there. read more

We have used the Firestone on Foster Ln. for many years primarily due to residence proximity to the business, I give them 4 stars because of price for things like tires & batteries being overpriced. You pay top dollar for any work done there, but they do a good job. I have never had to take anything back to be redone. So I recommend using this particular Firestone store for your car maintenance. I use this location for alignment on my 2005 GMC. I keep returning for a few reasons. 1. Their warrantied work. 2. The management team working with people and delivering great service to even the toughes situations as I witnessed from waiting being on the waiting room in the past 3. As I return for their warrantied work, I get sincere feedback and their management accept their faults and what they do to work on it. And now leaving from the location. Having their local team management just be people, and work through the difficult times and again admiting where the fault was at and wanting to make it better. I applaud them for this and a huge thanks. Especially during this difficult time during the corona-virus. I chose five stars because of the people leading and working here. And the reasons listed above, plus they offered simple discounts to regular customers. It's small but have long term value. Hope this is helpful to you. The first time I went here, they said my car needed a transmission solenoid and quoted me $1002 for parts and labor. Upon time to pick it up, somehow that price magically got bumped up to $1380. I brought the same car back for 5 reasons... Change out the lightbulbs for the headlight, change out the fog light, close the sunroof, change the oil/filter/top off other fluids, and fix the handle on the trunk. Sales person says okay and offers to look at all the lights and change them out. I agree, cool. About a week later and I get a voicemail, so I call back; I'm assuming its a different sales person and they tell me the oil change is done, I ask about the other 4 things that I asked for, he sounds confused and disheveled. He then notifies me that the fog light is a special order item and might be expensive, I told him that I know and I still want it done. He then notifies me that they don't fix sunroofs, I'd need to go to a body shop for that (it's actually a relatively easy process, just annoying, that's why I didn't want to do it, so okay, at least he was upfront that it wasn't going to happen). I'm told that they'll take a look at the trunk and see what exactly needs to be repaired. And they'll change out the lights.... a week later... After another week I call the shop for an update, I'm told that they need my approval to order a new headlight... 2 weeks in and I had to call them to get notified that they needed approval to order a part that I now have to wait for them to get. Sales person on the phone tells me that everything else "looks good". 2 MORE WEEKS, and I go to the shop, and they're done. I'm told that my total is $1300+.... I pay, because if everything is fixed, it's worth that much... No, they told me the receipt is in my email, hand me the key, and point me in the direction of my car. No invoice breakdown, explanation, NOTHING. I get home and realize that the fog light isn't working... I look at the invoice, they changed my oil, changed my headlight, and swapped the bulb on some insignificant side light that I didn't ask for and charged me $1300+. Didn't top off any other fluids, windshield wiper tank is bone dry, nothing, and had the nerve to charge $150. Didn't change my fog light, didn't even look at the trunk latch. Then I look at the invoice and they charged me $80.50 to change right headlamp and then charged me another $322 to change right headlamp. Two charges of differing values to change the exact same part. Same article number, same ID code, everything. Obviously, I'll be disputing these charges once they post and NEVER going back to these scam artists read more

Poor service/not happy customer. I left my vehicle there all day today to purchase 3 new tires and to have them rotate the existing tire I had purchased from then a year ago, and align and balance the tires. I gave specific instructions to Moy in writing today, and had spoken w/Chris to set up the appointment a couple days ago. Both fellows were nice, but they didn't perform the job I paid them to do...and now I have to leave it another full day, schedule rides to and there as I am handicapped and can't sit there for 7-8 hours waiting. The existing tire was still in the Same place as when I dropped the vehicle off...ie not rotated. Chris said it was like going to Mcdonalds and getting an extra pickle?? I told him that this was Tires for a vehicle and that I wanted to get service from a company I could Trust. He offered for me to bring the vehicle back and they would perform the service I paid for at n/c?? :) I would hope so. But every time I go, even for a flat tire, I have to leave it most of the day, schedule rides to and from. i guess if one thinks tires on a car are comparable to Mcdonalds hamburgers and an extra pickle-as Christopher the service advisor does-and told me...this is the place for you. Shortly after I took my car into the Howdy Honda dealership. Imagine my surprise when I was recommended the AC refresh and Brake fluid again. I then told Honda that I had just gotten them done. After double-checking, the tech and supervisor at Honda then both confirmed that the services had not been performed remotely recently. I felt like they were trying to up charge me as usual but they gave me a great deal and showed me the problem they were seeing with my vehicle so that made it easier to swallow the repair cost. I went in for a alignment (which I have a lifetime service coverage plan) and came out with other repairs suggested and needed to where they wouldn't align my truck until the issues were addressed. Warning, this location will not follow the owners request on service. I brought my 17 year old car into this location for a $29.99 oil change. At 17 years, I am not looking to spend top dollar just to make me feel good. Though I requested conventional oil, which my car has used since I purchased it in 2006, they refused to use conventional oil, even though this same store had been changing my oil for years using conventional oil. Maybe new management? I drive only 5K miles on this vehicle each year. Yet they would not put in conventional oil because they would be responsible for the the engine if it failed. Really? Try to win that in court next time your 17 year old engine fails. The bill was $71 with the discount. Looking at the advantages and disadvantages of conventional vs synthetic blends, the main advantage is for engine wear, which you might consider synthetic if you are going to keep the car for 200K miles or you are going to be in extreme cold, not Texas. It would take 25 more years on my 17 year old vehicle with 86K miles to get to 200K miles driving 5K miles per year. With the two hour wait, even though I had a scheduled appointment, I will not use this company again. read more

Took my car in for alignment and oil change. They performed these things fine. About an hour after I dropped it off they called to say the cabin air filter was dirty and asked if I want to have them change it for $49. I declined: when I picked up the car it turned out it would have cost closer to $125 with parts/labor that they didn't tell me about. So I'm glad I said no: I think I can learn that myself on Youtube or have my local mechanic do it for less. Also, they did not mention on the phone that my inspection was expiring this month. They pointed it out when I picked up the car but I would have loved to have had them do it while it was still there. Another big gripe I have with Firestone is that they apparently sign you up for some kind of survey. I've been getting 2 calls a day starting early in the morning: when you call the number back it does not tell you anything, and they don't leave messages. I just had the number blocked so I don't have to deal with it anymore. I generally don't use Firestone because I feel like they are too money-focused and not very customer-centric. The idea of a follow-up survey is nice, but numerous phone calls per day is not, and a message (or even a notification from the service staff that I should expect the call) would be nice. read more
