Today (5/14) I went to Jiffy Lube for a regular oil change for my Chevy Camaro V6. This was my first time using this location after being with another shop for 8 years. As soon as I arrived, a tall employee with long hair and a beard approached me and told me the oil change would cost around $109, but because of my car it would end up being about $165. I already thought that was expensive, but I needed the service done. His attitude was very rude from the beginning, and he told me to get out of my car and wait in the waiting room. I told him I was comfortable waiting inside my car while it was turned off. A younger employee and an older employee worked on my car, and the service took about 10 minutes. In the end, I paid $135 and left. While driving from Anderson Lane and Mopac toward Mopac and 71 during heavy 4 PM traffic, my car suddenly started acting strange. The engine sounded terrible, and the check engine light came on. I had to carefully pull into a parking lot for safety. At 4:33 PM, I immediately called the location and spoke with manager Ronald R. He said he would come check my car. I ended up waiting almost 2 hours until he finally arrived around 6:15 PM. When he inspected the car, he discovered the oil filter ring had been installed incorrectly. After fixing the filter, he then added approximately 5 liters of oil to my engine because it was dangerously low. This experience was completely unacceptable. An oil change is the main service this company provides, and despite having 3 employees working on my vehicle, they still made a serious mistake that could have damaged my engine or caused an accident in traffic. After fixing the issue, the manager simply said, "Everything is good now, thank you," and left. No apology, no accountability, and no concern for the inconvenience, stress, or potential damage caused. After reading the Yelp reviews for this location, I now understand why so many customers have had bad experiences here. I will not be returning. read more

My 17 year old daughter came for an inspection. Her car was also due for a basic service that included an oil change, transmission fluid change, and hose/belt inspection that we planned on doing elsewhere. The Jiffy Lube technician told her they could do the service and gave her a quote. Once they finished the oil change, they told her they actually couldn't do the rest of the service and couldn't know this until they opened everything up due to the type of car she was driving. Sure feels like a "bait and switch" inflicted on a 17 year old girl. Instead of a $11 emissions inspection, they managed to squeeze $115 out of us. read more

On 2/25/2021 I brought my 2008 Chevy Silverado into this Jiffy Lube to get my inspection done, and decided to go ahead and get my oil changed since I was there. I waited in the lobby area for a little while until someone said the techs were having trouble removing my oil filter. They were having so much trouble that they called another tech from a different store who had more experience/knowledge. After almost and hour of waiting for them to change my oil, they told me that they were unable to remove the oil filter. I was told that there was no "spindle" I believe they meant "stud", which is the threaded piece that the oil filter screws onto. They proceeded to tell me that my filter had been glued on somehow. My vehicle could not be started, so I had to have it towed at my expense to the mechanic I use to have them try to remove the filter. A few days later after speaking with my mechanic, I was informed that the Jiffy Lube techs used all of the incorrect tools to try to remove my filter...the worst tool was the pliers they used, which completely shredded my oil filter, causing the whole issue. My mechanic was able to remove the filter and put a new one on. There are some minor scratches on my oil pan, but nothing else damaged...and there 100% was a "stud" for the oil filter to screw onto. Fast forward a couple days and I went back to Jiffy Lube to talk to them about it all, and they informed me that they didn't even have the socket that is supposed to be used to remove the filter...that they use belt wrenches always, to which I added "and pliers". This is such a ridiculous thing for a business who's major service includes changing oil/new oil filters. How can they not have the appropriate tools? So far, they have been very hesitant and unwilling to work with me on paying for the towing and service fees from my mechanic. I feel that it is completely unacceptable to mess up something so badly, that I have to pay other people to fix, and then basically say not my problem. read more

Pulled up to a virtually vacant location for a state inspection. "Yes, we can do that." I'm asked to pop open my hood and leave the keys in my car. Before I can even my phone unplugged, the gentleman who greeted me has trouble opening my hood, then tells me they can't do inspections today. Then, he can't figure out how to close my hood back. If you can't open the hood of a common American SUV, I'm not sure I'd want to trust you with anything. read more

I've been here for 3 or 4 oil changes and a state inspection. Service here is top notch. The technicians are friendly and the work has always been done quickly. I can't say I've waited longer than 30 minutes from the time I arrived (though I usually try and go during slow hours). They always offer additional work (as expected with most mechanics) but have never been pushy at all about it or tried to tell me my car needed something other than what I asked for. That's one of the main reasons I come back to this particular location - they let you know what they might typically do on a car with similar mileage, but don't tell you that your car "needs" it. They also top off your fluids, clean your windows, and fill up your tires with every oil change. read more

These people will RUIN YOUR CAR with a simple oil change. The manager Ron, will do nothing to help you-- Actually, he's the one who botched my oil change. Their district manager Isaac Alexander, will also do nothing to help you if they mess up your car, like they did mine. Claims manager, Ron Anderson also unhelpful. Here's what happened - brought my car in for an oil change, at which point I was up-sold on a more expensive oil. My car started leaking what looked like a tiny bit of oil in my driveway, didn't think much of it. When I brought my car to Christian Bros. for my next oil change, they found oil all over the inside carriage of my vehicle. The oil filter that Jiffy installed was leaking and disintegrating. The drain plug was also leaking oil. Christian Bros. documented everything and told me I was lucky my engine wasn't ruined. Upon reaching out to JL, they failed to respond to me in a timely manner, then said I couldn't prove they were the last ones to service my vehicle, but I can. They said I could take legal action, which I will. Don't take any chances with this place, it's not worth it and they will not help you if they screw up. They won't care, won't help you, tell you to take them to court knowing you probably won't and you will be SOL. This is truly a garbage location and a garbage company. I just went to this Jiffy Lube at 9:05AM where they told me a state inspection would be "at least an hour at least" because one person was in front of me. I left, went to the Jiffy Lube on Anderson just on the other side of MoPac, and am now sitting 30 minutes early at 9:35 AM in front of my dentists office because the second JL was able to do the inspection in 10 minutes - and there was also one other person in front of me!!!! Oh! And the nice gentleman there walked me to my car AND opened the door for me. Was such a gentleman. How could this be? Oh, I know. Laziness. Here is the thing. I'm a nurse. There are a lot of procedures and interventions every shift I would rather not do. However, people are depending on me to do them so that they feel better, get better, are able to get out of he hospital and go on with their lives. I know state inspections aren't a money maker, I came in looking like a homeless mom bc I barely slept last night and have to work tonight and prob won't sleep for another 26 hours. So, I need to get stuff done. If you are going to be a lazy incompetent person fine. But don't work in the service industry. Get it together JL. Hire more qualified peeps who can help people get stuff done and go on with their lives instead of waiting in your waiting area for over an hour for a state inspection. Geez o Pete. read more

I dropped my car off here and requested that they call when it was done. 3 hours later I reached out and was informed that the "forgot" to call but the car was "done." So, you think you're just going to go in for your typical, mundane oil change, right? Wrong! From the moment you pull up, every person on site says hello, calls you ma'am, opens the door for you, and you just get the feeling that you are in good hands. The manager, Ted, explained to me the differences in normal an synthetic oil, different price levels and answered every question I had with honesty and sincerity. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who greeted me, but he was also great. I was in and out within 30mins, and I know they hooked me up with a few extra perks. I called my mom when I left and told her that I have never walked out of an oil change wanting to randomly hug everyone. I guess this is a throwback to "how it used to be" in the good old days...when you felt like the person that was helping you genuinely wanted to help. It is amazing how much a great custom service experience can do for your soul and I am grateful to have an outlet like Yelp to recognize this location fm for their excellence. My experiences at this Jiffy Lube were astoundingly different than most of the reviewers here. The only reason I visited this location was because I read so many positive reviews here on Yelp, but I've just returned home after my visit and wanted to share what I just went through. I stopped in for an oil change but decided to get my inspection taken care of too since it expires at the end of this month. As far as the oil change goes, I guess things weren't too terrible. After reading all of the other reviews, I was hoping this Jiffy Lube wouldn't put me through the standard barrage of up-sells I usually experience but I was wrong. After being pitched about $300 in up-sells (all of which I declined), I was told my car would be inspected and ready in about 20 minutes. About 30 minutes later, the inspector finally got around to starting on my car. It's important to note that this man moved about as slow as humanly possible. He drags his feet and works much slower than any inspector I've ever seen. He turned my car on pretty early during the inspection and left it idling, which I'm used to seeing. What I'm not used to seeing is another customer behind me in line walking up and talking with the inspector for 15-20 minutes while my car continues to burn gas and idle. About 40-45 minutes after he began inspecting my car, the inspector finally finished and pulled it forward. At this point, it's been over an hour since I was told my car would be ready in 20 minutes, and the clerk comes in to check me out. He sensed my frustration and asked if everything was to my satisfaction. I told him it wasn't, and explained that I had been waiting significantly longer than promised. I also told him that I was offended that the inspector left my car sitting there burning gas while he spoke with another customer for 15-20 minutes. His response was, "Yeah, yeah... I'll talk to him about that." Then he asked me to scan my credit card. He made absolutely no attempt to save my business or try to recover from this awful encounter. Just a quick "Yup" and a promise to talk with his employee. I will never go back to this place, and will likely never visit another Jiffy Lube. My wife is due for an oil change too and going to get it taken care of tomorrow, and she will be sure to avoid this business at all costs. read more

When getting a state inspection they added 100K miles to the odometer registered with with the state as part of the inspection. The error popped up on a CarFax report when looking to trade in the truck. Which just dropped the trade in value of the truck a few thousand dollars. Unfortunately, Jiffy Lube had NO interest in fixing their error. Anyone can make a typo. A reputable company would have tried to do something to fix it. read more

Normally I feel kinda dirty when I go to Jiffy Lube. I don't know why. This Jiffy Lube is different. The guys here are as friendly as can be. After work on a weekday got me in and out in less than 20 minutes. It probably would have been less than 15 if I hadn't talked to the guys about how O'Reilly's is far superior than AutoZone. They did the usual "Hey you should probably replace your your air filter and cabin air filter. Here's how dirty they are." There was absolutely no pressure! I honestly did need to replace them, but I can do that myself (Hello, O'Reilly's!) I can definitely see myself coming back here for another oil change. Maybe even my 90k! read more

Finding a good oil change place in Austin has proven to be a bit more of a challenge than it should be. I thought I had found "the place" when I found this location near my office about a year ago. Service was absolutely amazing, it was rather fast, and they always had coupons for their services. Well, I went in today for an oil change on a new vehicle that we just purchased. Decided to go with the full synthetic, for which they quoted me a price. Then, they started tacking on fees for "extra oil" and other things. When I balked at this, they said they would discount it a bit to take care of that.. Showed me a price. Later, when I went to check out, it was a different price. Seriously? After nearly an HOUR of waiting and wrangling over price, we finally walked out of there. Thankfully, they finally accepted a coupon I had, and gave us a better price on the cost of the oil change. However, their list of services included in their "Premium Oil Change" list vacuuming the interior of the car, as well as cleaning the windows. None of that was done. Plus, my coolant, window washer fluid, etc. were not topped off, and one of the caps was left open. Then, they pulled my car outside with the window down in the rain and left it there. Just wow... Now another problem... this place has THREE work bays, so one would assume that they could service at least 3 cars at a time, right? WRONG. When I came in, they had one bay blocked with boxes, one bay blocked while they were working on some kind of tire issue, which left ONE bay open to do oil changes. I was told it would be 30 - 35 minutes until it was completed. It took nearly an hour and a half to change my oil... seriously? My car sat in the bay unattended for a long time before anyone came back to even look at it. This place has obviously made some changes, as it is not the stellar service shop that it used to be. Been taking my truck here for, gosh...6 years now, and have only experienced quality workmanship and even downright cheerful customer service. My truck has 150,000 miles on it, and runs as good as the day I bought it. A little about my truck..."Silver" has slid down the side of a canyon in Colorado. Experienced numerous airborne moments, both off-road and on. And seen more time in the Chihuahuan and Sonoran deserts than a Diamondback rattlesnake has. It's run the rough country in Southern Utah, has taken perpendicular attacks on deep Arroyo's, cruised Dry Creek beds, bounced over Boulders, and conquered the North Rim Trails of the GC in AZ. You name it, it's done it. It's run on synth oil since day one, and has had the radiator flushed every year. The diff has been well-serviced, tires rotated on time, fuel injectors cleaned annually, the list goes on and on. I guess what I like the most is that I don't really worry about whether it's going to perform or not. I just keep up with the scheduled maintenance, and add a few extra items myself due to the heavy usage. Straight up, this Jiffy Lube location has taken great care of us, and the effort is very much appreciated! Plus I get to spend some time BS-ing about our latest adventure with the crew, who always seem interested....LOL! Well at least they SEEM interested ;-) Thanks Guys! John read more

Don't come on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. There were just two people working and just one car in front of me that finished 10 minutes after I arrived. They told me it would be about 35 minutes. I was there for over an hour. So much for the jiffy part, but the oil change was fine. They really should have at least 3 people working to be efficient - a dedicated greeter/cashier and two working on the oil changes since one has to be below and one above for the checks they do. They took forever to work on my car because they kept having to stop, greet, and check people arriving in. By the time I left, there were 4 cars waiting...that's over an hour of waiting around for the person in the last car if no one else drives up. Not jiffy at all. read more

My girlfriend brought her can in for an oil change an after pulling in the battery died. What kind of luck is that? The manager Keith was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us out. As a woman, finding a reliable, honest and affordable place to take your car without feeling intimidated or like you're being taken advantage of is pretty rough. Luckily, I found this Jiffy Lube off of Spicewood Springs and feel like I've hit the jackpot. They are incredibly efficient, nice and actually want to help you save money rather than make you spend it without needing to. I have actually gone there on a Saturday morning and was in and out within 12 minutes. Do NOT trust this Jiffy Lube. Just got back from the dealership after hearing a scraping sound coming from the bottom of my car while driving on the highway. Turns out this location did not properly replace the splash guard, and there were 6 missing clips and 2 missing bolts. I cannot believe the headache I had to go through trying to get this resolved. I have been going to Jiffy Lube my entire life, but I will NEVER go again. If they didn't know how to properly do service on my vehicle, they should have said so. Sitting in the lobby right now for my 6th oil change from this location. As always, the guys are very friendly, apologized about the short wait (what wait?), and got to work right away. On one of my visits here, I asked them to tighten one of my belts, which is apparently pretty difficult to do on my Toyota Solara. A bolt cracked and they needed to get a new part, which left my car out of commission for a day. The manager got me a rental car and made sure I was taken care of. Manager at this location was very rude. I brought my car in as my mechanic noticed my oil drain plug was dripping. I didn't have the exact information on hand so I asked him to just check things out and see if anything may look funky. The manager ended up giving me an ear full that my mechanic was pulling my chain and spoke to me in a pretty condescending manner. After leaving I found the note from my mechanic so I called back to ask the manager's opinion. He proceeded to talk over me and ended the conversation by hanging up on me.
