If you want a place where you're overcharged and treated horribly, this is the place for you! When an order came out wrong, with gravy on the biscuit when specified plain biscuit with gravy on the side, just know a new plain biscuit will be $3. Seriously. Your chicken-fried steak is literally so tough that you cannot pull it apart? The waitress will be abrupt and refuse to take it back because "chicken-fried steak is one of our most expensive meals" until I complained to the manager. And, to top it all off, when I grabbed some extra napkins, the MANAGER said, "Oh my God, do you need all those napkins?" I took six napkins, and yes, I needed them. There were several open tables yet they were more concerned w laughing with each other than tending to their customers. Service is as awful as others have said. The waiter went to another table before us and they came after us. Additionally, that table was seated and didn't even have menus. Not impressed today, the other times we were here the food was good but today maybe was just a off day, my skillet came out burnt and was close to unchewable. My boyfriends food was fine. We got no refills but I feel like that wasn't the waitress fault. She had close to ten tables and was the only one there beside the cook. I don't know what kinda restaurant only operates with one waitress but it isn't smart. One table in particular was being super mean to her even after she apologized and told them she's all alone. I would give them zero if I could. We walked in and were sat immediately. Our server came over and asked for our drink order, but brought us the wrong drinks. It's also very hot in here, please management, buy I fan or turn the air down. Waitress stated she's worked here for a year, but today is the first day she was waitressing and she didn't know anything about the menu and had to keep leaving to ask questions. She couldn't answer any of our questions- like what's the difference between American and French fries? Turns out they are just home-style- but we didn't find that out until the food came out with the wrong ones. Food comes out, and my eggs are not cooked correctly. I like my scrambled eggs very well done so I asked that they be browned. I sent them back after we had to scream to get a server over to our table- as I had already eaten the majority of my food. They came out again, still not well done, so I sent them back and asked that they be "browned". This time, a lady who I assume was manager/ owner came back with the same plate and proceeded to argue with me that they were indeed well done and that the cheese made them look undercooked. I told her I have never had a problem anywhere else asking for them this way, and I always get them with cheese because it is possible to brown them with it. At this point I gave up- she clearly wanted to stand over our table and argue instead of simply asking how exactly I like them. We never got refills on our drinks. Also my uncle had to have one of the servers "break into" the bathroom with a butter knife because the door wouldn't open. We were never checked on unless we stood up to yell for someone- they just do not care. This was a very bizarre experience. read more

Great cafe hidden in a shopping center. You would never know this little gem existed without word of mouth. Very clean, polite staff, quaint atmosphere. Food was freshly prepared. Went for the first time on a rainy Wednesday morning. It was quiet, clean and not as busy as I would have thought, so it was a perfect morning. Service was attentive. Upon arrival, the place was full. Had to wait a few mins for a clean table. No problem. Then waited 5 mins or so for a sever to take my order. I ordered Apple Juice, Coffee and Water with Lemon. I also place my food order at the same time. It appeared to me that I was bothering her by being there. A short time later my coffee and Apple Juice arrived. I guess there is a shortage of water with lemon because that never came until I had to asked for it when my food was delivered. My coffee was refilled by the Hostess and not the server, kinda strange but it was refilled. Not bad, not great, just average. In this market Average will never make it. First time trying Mid Cities Cafe, we truly enjoyed our breakfast. Food was made how we ordered it even with our own changes crispy home fries, less crispy bacon etc! Wait staff were great friendly interactive smiling you felt they wanted to be there and serve you! Management was also friendly and they walked around filling coffees so it's awesome to see the roll up their sleeves! I went there about 1:30 for lunch.i believe they are open till 3. I looked over the menu and they have all kinds of breakfast items which I'll try later.today I got the Swiss mushroom burger.the burger was pretty solid and the fries were nice and hot.the waitress was nice and the service was good.so there are really no complaints from me. They have the flavor coffee creamer, which always makes me happy! The menu seemed to have a good selection for breakfast, there were variations of the traditional southern breakfast, such as Egg Benedict done different ways and French toast options, plus all the classics too. I had the Irish Benedict - with tomato and corn beef hash. Hubs had a Omelete. Food was good, order came out correct. The hash towns were chewy, I passed on mine. This neighborhood cafe, right across from Trinity High School, has a good variety of food. I like their breakfast selections, salads and soups. It isn't usually crowded, which is nice. I usually eat there alone but took my wife there for the first time today, just after Noon on Sunday. It wasn't crowded and she loved the quesadilla's she had, which was a huge serving. Give it a try if you are looking for a small family owned place to eat. read more

8/22/20 Food is good Dine in experience is not what it used to be. My last two visits the service was poor. Requested extra well hash browns and received raw hash browns. Waiter did not put in order for bacon. They don't write your order down and fail to enter it properly. Coffee service was painfully slow. Not sure why the three waiters/waitress could not handle the light occupancy. Maybe they are all focused on take out orders. One employee eating at "staff table" in front of house At peak hours. Other waiters stopping by and chit chatting. Such a terrible appearance when your wishing you had a coffee refill. My lunch visit a month or so ago had almost acceptable service. the yellow mustard in container was nasty and way past expiration date. Walls at my booth had food and finger smudges. Condiment containers and holder were dirty. I hope this helps them correct some basic issues. Might try again in 3 months. read more

First visit to Mid Cities; was here a couple of years ago when it was Texas Village. Hopefully this place will last longer; hard to compete with the chains. That said, we enjoyed our visit and meal. Greeted promptly and sat right away; chose a both over a table. Very clean and nicely decorated. Different from the previous business. Leticia our server came over right away and took our drink order. She provided our 5 year some drink suggestions which was helpful. Menu has a good variety of omelets, pancakes, crepes and such. Also health conscious options. I'm not an egg eater, but the chicken fried steak omelette looked intriguing, but I went with an Oreo pancake which seemed just as intriguing. Coffee, good and hot as it should, plenty of creamer selections like French Vanilla, and Hazelnut. Caddie full of sugar and sugar substitute. Oreo pancake was really good, hot, moist with Oreo crumbled inside with a small whole cookie on top. Syrup warm and plenty of butter. Ordered corned beef hash which had plenty of corned beef and not salty. The dining room wasn't overfilled for a Saturday breakfast, but had a steady flow of customers which is encouraging for the business. We were always offered coffee during or meal as a warm up which is a plus for breakfast. Leticia very friendly and provided great service.
