The chicken fried steak at Real Texas Cafe is as close to moms as it can be. The taste is great, the meat tenderized, it's the right thickness and the breading is crunchy so the overall impression is that this is a great chicken fried steak. Of course my favorite sides are mashed potatoes covered in gravy. Really crispy fried okra. I haven't had fresh fried okra in ages so when I popped the first couple of bites into my mouth I was pleasantly surprised that they were fresh and not frozen! I was in town for only a few days but enjoyed this meal so much I came back a second day to enjoy another plate! Service was great, the food was great I certainly will come back and recommend the Teal Texas Cafe.

Patio is large, well serviced, and full of tvs also. Drink selection is immense both liquor, beer, even NA, premium stuff if you want, well stuff if you want - don't be asking for anything crazy like a French 75 ofc but they will generally have what you want. Kitchen staff is incredible - Mario and the guys are fast and the menu is always on point. Brunch on weekends is fantastic. Pool tables, golden tee, darts if you want, even pinball for the niche crowd. What you don't get: Corporate nonsense, headache-inducing dance music, disrespect. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Tried to sit on the patio and was declined. I think Heidi needs to be refreshed on Texas State law on how to handle these proper situations. Apparently she doesn't know Texas law as it's clearly stated despite trying to reason with her. 10 out of 10 not professional and operating on personal opinions not Texas law as it's stated. Completely rude & completely disrespectful. Absolutely no reason to be treated this way. Clearly a violation of Texas law and cares to hear nothing more than her premeditated opinion. Maybe she needs to be retrained I don't know? Definitely could've handled things 1000 times better but I guess her personal beliefs are more important than restaurant standards.

Yes this is still basic bar food, but done well, and using the App, ready when you arrive if you time it. I did. It isn't grandmas cooking, but for what it is, pretty tastebud friendly. I know the ambiance for a dine in experience would be everything I would want it to be while eating my Louisiana Cajun inspired food. The sauces were also good. The catfish was CATFISH. It was not completely prepared Louisiana style, but they did use cornmeal or a fish fry type batter. The first catfish they gave me was a little rancid. I smell and look inside everything before eating it, especially seafood and intricate Louisiana delicacies. The ingredients can go bad quickly, if not properly stored or cooked properly. The manager had no problem frying fresh fish to correct the problem. They fried me two more pieces, and they were fine. They were nice and white inside without a bad smell. The salad was warm. I like a cold salad. I did have to ask for more ranch. I will return.

I had made it in time for happy hour so opted to choose the pretzle and queso. No complaints on the queso and points for plating a big serving. The pretzel on the other hand was dry and hard. I followed up with a 1/2 lb shrimp boil. Loved the flavor and the seasoning. The only downside was the wait, it seemed service was very slow. I went back, and the wait was longer to the point I had to request for it to be canceled. At that moment, our order was ready. The items that barely made it to the table were a half dozen oysters and mushrooms--appetizers. They did comp me the mushrooms; it's just a bummer how long it took.

Man, let me tell you something about Valentino's New York Pizza and Grill!…read more This was my first time ordering from here, and I ordered a 14-inch pizza with three toppings and six chicken wings. And I gotta tell you, this place DID NOT disappoint! First, let's talk about these WINGS! If you're familiar with those authentic, bar-style chicken wings, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Those big, juicy wings with that perfect crispy outside and delicious sauce! Not those little, dried-out wings you get at some places. These were BIG, meaty, juicy, and cooked just right! The flavor was absolutely on point. Honestly, these are the kind of wings I've been looking for! Now, the PIZZA! Man, I don't know what they're doing to that crust, but whatever it is, KEEP DOING IT! The pizza was absolutely delicious. Everything from the crust to the toppings was just right. What really stood out to me was how much this place reminded me of the pizza and wings I grew up eating back in Michigan. That authentic neighborhood pizza joint taste that you just don't find everywhere. One bite, and it brought back memories! I haven't tried anything else on their menu yet, so I can only speak on the pizza and wings. But based on this first experience, I'm DEFINITELY coming back! If you're craving some REAL bar-style chicken wings or a delicious pizza, do yourself a favor and give Valentino's a try! They've officially earned my business for pizza and wings from here on out! 5 out of 5 -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Usually this means the beginning of the end for restaurants (See Pulido's) BUT, we gave it a try a few weeks after the change and the food was still the same, great quality it always has been. Hooray! Then the name change. This also had me worried. If they're changing the name, they might be changing process and procedures in the kitchen as well. Well, we still frequent the place regularly and it's STILL our go-to for Tex-Mex. Still great food, still great atmosphere, still great, friendly staff. Always. Everything we've had so far has been fantastic: enchiladas, giant burrito, shrimp tacos, beef fajitas, everything. If I was to say ONE thing as a criticism, I miss the pitcher of salsa on the table to refill your salsa cup. And the bowl of chips is smaller, making you go through them quicker. A minor inconvenience and the staff are pretty much on top of refills, so like I said: minor. Oh, and I miss looking under the plates for the 'M' for the complimentary dish. Just something fun.
