They need to work on the fried shrimp, it seems they use frozen shrimp with the thick crust. I suggest you fry the actual fresh shrimp. I was very disappointed. This place is a great value and has a gigantic menu. Usually those things lead to nothing be done well, however we had some good, some not so good items. Order online and pickup, or walk up and order at the counter. Tons of sides and lots of options. My blackened snapper was overcooked but still tasty. Cheesy broccoli and Brussel sprouts were amazing. This was our first experience at Mid Atlantic and the ambiance was nice. The place was clean and seemed new. The seafood we got was good but the sides were mid. The greens were horrible and flavorless and the Mac and cheese was off. The Brussel sprouts were left to be desired. read more

The food was very good and the portions were large! I especially liked the fried pork chops...they were big and seasoned just right. The macaroni and cheese was almost as good as homemade. I also liked the Brussel sprouts. They weren't overcooked. I tasted the fried whiting. It was bland...I don't think it was seasoned at all. The margarita was great! The place is bright and open. It didn't feel cramped at all. What I don't like is all of the noise. I don't like eating out of styrofoam containers. I probably should stay away from places that don't have real plates, forks and knives. I'd definitely comeback for carry out! The staff are friendly and very helpful with your selections and the portions of food that is given with your order can last for two full meals. You can eat in or carry out. When I don't feel like cooking, this is very close to eating at home but without the fuss/dishes. I was craving the fried fish and chicken so I got the combo. One thing that I appreciate about mid Atlantic, you have options. I can't stay away from the teriyaki & mushroom string beans and Mac n cheese. If you haven't been lately, you have to see how much they are really utilizing their space. More inviting. It's loud after 5pm, so don't frown your face. It's just people having some much needed happy hour, food and drinks with friends in the side opposite of where you get food. It's no longer in the way of picking up food. Very little here is homemade ...they're just buying stuff up from the grocery store, slicing it up into pieces and then charging you triple for it. The green beans, strawberry bar cake, sweet potato pie etc are all just grocery store items that they purchased and then sliced and packaged themselves. Nothing there is actually homemade. read more

Drove from New York to Laurel, Maryland with my sisters to go to Bridal Babes for my bridesmaids dresses appointment. We arrived early and decided to come here for something to eat. Saw the reviews on TikTok and a young lady had high reviews on the rum punch. So my sister and I decided to get one. The rum punch is giving summertime on the beach vibe. Very delicious on all ingredients. The place is giving a rustic industrial Americana a very clean and chic vibe. The clientele is very diverse and the music is good. My middle sister had the fried chicken wings she said they were good. My baby sister had the blackened red snapper and she said the food touched all taste buds. I had the blackened catfish and it was delicious. The food is made to order so expect to wait for your food. Overall, I rate this restaurant a 5 star. read more

I'm really upset at myself for unknowingly driving past all the Mid Atlantic Seafood restaurants surrounding me. This was my first time visiting the Laurel location, and the food is just as great as their other locations. I dined in and got a drink at their bar, and the bar just opened back up after being closed since pre-Covid times. They have a nice selection of drinks, and I chose to get the apple martini. It was a great mix, and the cranberry juice was a great addition to it. For my meal I ordered the fried rainbow trout dinner and got mac n cheese and collards as my two sides. I have no complaints! Extremely crowded on Saturday evening. I haven't been to Mid-Atlantic in 5+ years and it will be a while before I return unless its Mon-Thur. Waited 20 mins for a fried fish platter. Not for me, it really doesn't matter how the food tastes my anxiety went through the roof - it was wayy too crowded. They sell drinks and have a full bar that was also crowded. Great place to grab lunch or have lunch if you want. There's plenty of space to dine in. There is a liquor store connected next door if you want to grab a nice drink for later. They have seafood, vegetarian options and plenty of menu items to choose from including: Stuffed Salmon Crab cakes Fried Fish Homemade Cakes Po Boy's (personal fave) and more The location is perfect it's located right off Rt 1 and has plenty of parking, its not hidden so you should see it when you drive by. Large portions and reasonable prices! I was visiting family in the area and this restaurant was right across the street from the hotel where we stayed. It just so happened that my cousin had purchased a pan of potato salad for our family gathering and recommended the restaurant. We decided to eat there for dinner. There was soooo much tasty food, all made from scratch like grandma's kitchen. The collards were the best I've had in a long time. There were no complaints about the food. Four years later and this place is still great! Glad they have been able to stay open through COVID. As of now, they are still take out only. Some of my favorites are the fried oysters and scallops. They also have many different combos with shrimp, fish, scallops, and oysters. Some of my favorite sides are the fried tofu, teriyaki string beans and Kale. Came here years ago and my experience was mid (the food was salty and wasn't great overall) so I didn't return. A friend recently invited me back here for lunch so I obliged. If you're anything like me, you're always having a difficult time finding a place where really delicious seafood is served and the price is reasonable. Well, look no further, because Mid-Atlantic Seafood Restaurant is dishing up scrumptious seafood at very reasonable prices! The concept here is to provide affordable; yet delicious seafood to patrons that will keep them coming back. It must be working, because this restaurant had a steady flow of people coming and going while I was there. I hear Friday and Saturday nights are poppin, especially by the bar! I recently found myself at this establishment off the strength of my BFF, Crystal H. and it didn't disappoint - it actually exceeded my expectations. We ordered a plethora of foods to try. I won't go into all of the minor details, but what I will say is that ALL of the food we ordered was delicious! The fried flounder, crab legs, fried & steamed shrimp, hush puppies, and sauteed mixed veggies were some of the stand-outs for me. All were plentiful portions, fresh, and seasoned really well. The owner even impressed us with his bartender skills and made us a few of his signature cocktails! The restaurant itself has a carry-out vibe, but cleaner, with a full service bar and much more spacious. When you enter, place your order by looking at the very abundant menu at the rear of the restaurant, have a seat, wait for your number to be called, then pick-up your food. Either dine-in or take-out. Just that simple. The cocktails are very reasonably priced as well. Just a real chill spot to get a reasonably priced seafood meal and drink. If seafood isn't your thing, (although I don't know why you would go to a seafood restaurant if it isn't) they also sell various other foods. Ribs, fried chicken, a variety of delicious sides, (try the sautéed veggies, they're delish) and desserts - to name a few. We were even graced with the presence of the owner, Brian! He was super personable and really took an interest in how we enjoyed our food, our likes and dislikes and what we would change. He even mentioned a few upcoming items coming down the road for the restaurant. Just a really great guy! I highly recommend this restaurant! No, it's not fancy schmancy, but what it lacks in ambiance, it makes up in flavor! Trust me, your taste buds and pockets will thank me! Ahhhhh I am in love with this place!!! The seafood and service was so darn great!!! After speaking with the fabulous manager Brian, I learned a lot about this establishment! They like to source locally for several items they have. From alcohol choices to their food. I love that because Maryland has several things especially with seafood to offer. Alright so they carry 12oz crab legs rather than the standard 10oz we are all use to. I truly had no idea it was a difference but there really is. Their 12pz crab legs were filled with meat and you are able to crack one piece and the meat comes out whole!! It was so AMAZING! The shrimp, amazing! The Mac and cheese, AMAZING! The greens, Amazing! The Brussels sprouts, Amazing! The lo mein isn't my favorite but was delicious. The mahi mahi tacos were great but I wish they weren't breaded. The green beans were delicious! The fried rice was pretty good. The fried fish was delicious!! The stuffed fried shrimp was Amazing! Oh and I can't forget the alcoholic beverages were Amazing!!! Unique concept - upscale cafeteria style with a serious bar. Choices are overwhelming...fortunately I stayed (mostly) in my WW lane but had extra points stashed for dessert. Got 1/2doz fresh BluPoint Oysters, 1/2lb of steamed shrimp, crab cake with a double order of roasted Brussels Sprouts and finished with a slice of coconut cake. Everything was fresh and delicious. Yes this location serves alcohol For my entree I had the blackened shrimp tacos , let me say they are exceptional . Nice seat on the shrimp and then the combination of savory and tart , they have pocketed onions and some kind of cream sauce and shredded cabbage , just a great combo . UPDATED**** First time here. Couldn't decide so I was recommended this dish. It has pork ribs, and friend chicken with 2 of their many sides. Everything was well seasoned. The fried chicken was outstanding. The reason why it's a 3 to me it's because the sides were kinda cold and the potatoes could have been cooked longer. After the manager reached out to me about my review he made sure that mid Atlantic took care of me and I went back in and had another try of the food and it was perfect. I can't find one complain. On our way down to check out the University of Maryland with our son we decided to grab dinner before heading to the hotel. As usual, checked Yelp and found Mid-Atlantic Seafood with a ton of great reviews...so we stopped. It wasn't a restaurant like we'd expected (I actually didn't READ the reviews, LOL), but when we saw the offerings we knew we'd like it. It took us a minute to figure out how and what to order but we followed along and got in line. My son ordered the Salmon meal with potatoes and mac n cheese, Wifey ordered the Mahi Mahi fish tacos, and I got the Catfish dinner with mixed veggies and green beans with mushrooms. I also ordered three bbq ribs to try them and we got some cornbread. To wash it down we had a Sams and a Yuengling. After a short wait they called us up to grab our food and I was shocked at how much we got to eat...if fact nine of us finished our meals as much as we tried. My son liked and said the seasoning was excellent. Wifey's tacos were awesome-the Fish was fried, but not really breaded. My catfish was the best catfish I've had in 35 years...my friend's parents grew up in Georgia and she'd fry up catfish for us every couple weeks. So.damn.good! The ribs were cooked perfectly, but too saucy for my liking. All of the sides (especially the Mac and cheese) were really good. I got a ton of veggies and they weren't mushy or bland...very good. So this place is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth a stop to try it out. Not fancy, great tasting food, pretty fast service. If I lived here I'd be a regular. read more
