Maybe not perfect, but there is nothing better in the area. You may have to wait in line sometimes but usually worth the effort.

Very good service. Easy to check in computer for repair and staff was helpful. Definitely recommend going here.

If you have a strong interest in computers and/or gaming you are not going to top Micro Center, at least not here in the Detroit area. They have the largest selection of computer and gaming merchandise that I have seen. They can sometimes be very very busy, with long lines, but the checkouts are usually fully manned and the long lines go fairly quick. I think the long lines and crowds are just an indication of how popular the store has become. The prices are very competitive. I just bought a Cooler Master HAF Computer Case and a Corsair Power Supply and their prices were better than NewEgg and Tiger Direct (just as they advertise them). I recommend them with 5 stars. I go here only when I have to have something that Nevatech (next door) doesn't have. In the past I have tired of hearing sales say, "that's not my department" or, just recently, "Here's what you are looking for. Looks like you will have to buy 2 packages - one for nuts and one for bolts". I have to wonder if that isn't something they do on purpose to up their sales - not have things combined for an easy customer experience. Their lines are long and it is not an easy store to navigate. I purposely try to avoid this store. The prices are inflated and maybe I don't WANT to give out my address and phone number at the register! read more

My company is currently updating our computer system by building all new machines for the office and the store. We have been buying nearly all of the components for the project from Micro Center. Since we are building ten computers we have had to buy processors over time as is store policy (only one can be bought per day). When bundled with motherboards you receive a $20 discount on the board so we have been buying one board, processor, and RAM a day for a two weeks. Today when we opened one of the boards, the pins that the processor sit on were damaged and so we took it in to be exchanged. The damaged motherboard is a GIGABYTE B75M-HD3 (socket LGA 1155) The board was purchased on 10/30/2013 and I attempted to take it back on 11/7/13, 8 days from purchase. I did not want a refund, I only wanted it exchanged for an identical board. They said they could not exchange the board because it was damaged. Their only argument was "The board should not come from the Factory like that." The board was only taken out of the box and inspected, never connected to anything. Since the board could not be returned to the manufacturer by them, they could not take it back, exchange, or refund the board! The manager then suggested that I could attempt to contact the manufacturer to return the board myself. If they can't return the board new in box to the manufacturer what hope do I have?! Being a retail store ourselves, I understand that sometimes you have to eat a cost on a product for the sake of customer service. This is a lesson that is completely lost on Micro Center. When a business is spending the time and money to complete a project through your store, I think you could turn around and eat the cost of a $45 motherboard for the customer. Unbelievable! read more

Joshua was very helpful in finding what we needed. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We got exactly what we needed, we're in and out of the store quickly and even got some helpful tips! read more

I've shopped here for the last 5 years now and all I can say is thank you guys for always helping me with my computer needs. I've always bought my computers here. I would come here before I went to best buy or amazon for anything. They always have sales going on and so many brands and top names of computers. They are very well known for having a staff that knows what they are talking about unlike most retailers. If they opened more store here in Michigan I think they would do so well. I hate I have to go so far for my computer stuff but the trip is well worth it. read more

The best computer store in Michigan. Great staff and management too. I know this because I am a former employee who still tells family and friends to shop here. read more

Micro Center is always busy, and there are some good reasons for that. It's probably the only real computer store in Southeast Michigan, perhaps the entire state. You can get nearly anything for your PC here - motherboards, CPUs, video cards, add-on cards, specialty tools, and sundry small parts. They also have a fairly good selection of Apple products and home-entertainment equipment. Prices are impressive for a brick-and-mortar store. No, you're not comparison-shopping on eBay - but you're not paying shipping and waiting on UPS either. And the service is nice - you just have to ignore the extended-warranty shtick that you get at this and any other electronics store. read more

Decent store, but the salesman are lazy idiots. Been standing in the desktop area waiting for help for 25 minutes

disappointing experience!!! wanted to buy a desktop (iMAC specifically), found it online cheaper at BH photo &video ($1850 vs $1600). chatted online with microcenter, included the item/price, web link and inquiry whether they do pricematch the specific item with the specific retailer. the CSR confirmed that they do, and the process is as simple as show them the price on the other retailer's website. I placed the order. I went to pick it up, and when I requested the pricematch, the store manager was summoned and she asked a single question: how much is it at BH photo? before she turned to me and declared that she can't honor such a big price difference, but is "willing to meet me halfway". I thanked her and walked out..wasted 70 minutes of my life on a round trip..needless to say that I will never go back..what kind of store does not honor their own policies (especially after I inquired before placing the order)!! she did not ask how far I drove, but was more interested in the price difference, (and this is a 2017 model that has been discontinued!!) and then she wanted to price haggle!!! how cheap... read more

Microcenter is THE place to go for computer upgrades or repair parts. Good selection of all things electronic, and lots of software too. Watch for great deals on open box and refurb items too. The only thing I dont really like about Microcenter is the pushy floor staff. They will try to sell you a service plan on any item that you buy there. Theres always a salesman lingering around every corner, and if you stop to look at something, rest assured that someone will come jogging over to tell you all about it. Its a great place to go if you know exactly what you want though. read more

Love the 18 minute pickup option. Had everything ready in 10 minutes and let me know via email. The price on the netbook was about $20 cheaper than Amazon and Newegg. This was a newer model dual core, not some clearance item, plus they had the ram upgrade in stock. I'll be back. read more

Hi, I went to purchase LG TVs today from Micro Center in Madison Heights after I paid for the TVs sale's manager comes asking me to purchase insurance for the TV because they are loosing $500 per TV. So I said I'm not interested in buying the insurance for the TV. then Greg Moore said we don't have TVs for sale and that he's the manager and have the right to refund my money and refuse my purchases. They refunded my money back and took the TVs. Is that even legal?? I have 3 people witnessed this incident and have three people purchased the TVs without insurance. read more

Yeah, this place has everything you'll ever need at a good price, but is the line worth the wait? This place is so packed, all the time!

After giving them thousands of dollars worth of business they messed my order to fix my PC. Charged me 60 dollars only to come home and find out that the problem was not fixed. They want to recharge me again to fix what they didn't fix the first time, in addition to wasting my time. I very disappointed. Even the chief tech didn't have the courtesy to admit to their mistake. read more

I had originally review this store as probably three or two stars because of the immense lines on occasions. Some of those lines can be upwards of 30 min+! But now after going multiple times since that day, I realize, that is the way it is because the prices so darn good. I've marked this as affordable or extremely affordable because it is. That is just a fact in the computer world, my IT at the business even admits that there are deals on yet to be released technology are amazing especially on the rebuild and the remanufactured items. I then went and replaced my mother's laptop with a HP what I believe was an I7 with 32 gig RAM and a terabyte or two of memory with this solid-state hard drive and Intel 4000 graphics processor. Price of this laptop barely over $300 the cost of the all-in-one lenovo with the dual HDMI's that can play on the computer screen and two additional screens (this was a refurbished model and it was nicer than anything newer I own). I quickly purchased this all-in-one desktop for slightly over $200, literally 1/5 of its original cost or less. My recommendation and the bottom line of the store, they may become the wait of your life or yet may soon become the return line making you want to end it. However, the prices cannot be beat, and if you're even semi-capable in computers and technology you will find yourself saving an immense amount of money. They have even started selling drone replacement kits and Parts, my assumption is they will have the full line very soon. Now, after going there half a dozen or more times, it is actually a pleasure to go to that store. The knowledge I leave with is extensively crucial. When you consider the risk that is involved buying from Amazon and similar stores where you get a questionable product 50% of the time this store is only slightly more expensive, way more dependable in their quality and quantity of stock, as well as, their accuracy of that stock. read more

Kept my computer 1 whole month, regardless of me starting in a class, they were so careless, because as an ethnic woman professional they had no respect for me. Calling said that it took 2 weeks to order the part. Pete and Matt are the two who would just say anything, and didn't care to help. Originally i was told by the call center they could do it the same day, then had me to come back and leave it, which was to be done in 5 days, turned out to be a month Are you serious??? read more

I had to help myself and answer my own questions. The selection and price were good, but they need better staff policy. Next time Micro Center. read more

Great prices overall. The lines are too long though. Sometimes they don't have enough registers open during the busiest hours

I have spent a few thousand dollars on a pc and had them build it and I paid for a warranty, so my aio cooler went out and I drive multiple hours to this location and they said it's under warranty and they could replace it, then he says the one I got isn't in stock anymore so he grabbed a different one and said that the only way I can get the 160$ discount from my warranty is if he takes the cooler out and puts the new one in and it won't be for 4 weeks so I had to pay for the new aio and put it in myself, fine. It sucks but whatever. Then I get home and find out the aio I payed 200$ for that was suppose to be under warranty doesn't come with the proper mounting bracket and they didn't bother to mention that so now I have to drive over an hour back for a stupid 10$ bracket. I think I'll order online from now on. I expect to be taken care of when spending thousands of dollars with them but microcenter didn't. read more

I had to stop what I was doing just to write this review because I'm using the 2nd laptop I bought from this store and it hasn't even been a year and I'm already having issues with it! I got a Dell laptop that was a complete lemon and when I called Microcenter to see about a replacement I was told the 15day return window was over and I had to call Dell. Of course the warranty was up so I got stuck with it. Think I would learn my lesson? Nope! I went back to Microcenter about a yr later and bought a Lenovo 2in1 touch screen laptop and sure enough after my return window had expired this one began having issues! It appears to be a problem with the screen again. This time constant flashing (good thing I'm not epileptic). I know Microcenter is popular due to their low prices but like everything else you get what you pay for. Why do you think they have such a narrow return window? Unless you're buying something inexpensive you should take your business elsewhere. I know I will from now on... read more

reasons why micro computer center is the best 1) 2, 6-space surge protectors from Belkin for $6 2) sony computer speakers, $8 3) 2GB SD card = $8 4) 2GB flash drive = $6 5) they are the ONLY place that has all the peripherals I need for my mac, even obscure and strange hookups. 6) more stuff for better prices than apple store 7) great return policy 8) return policy means everyone is a winner. You get your money back and someone else gets to buy what you bought for less since it is out of packaging 9) the sale bins are equivalent to dollar bins at fabric shops. 10) people are really helpful 11) there is someone to help you at every aisle and they either know what they or doing or know exactly who to send you to 12) people remember your face. The mac lady pretty much knows my work schedule by now 13) the store is pretty organized. It's big, but everything is categorized in a sensible way. 14) huge selection of products. They have every product in at least three different brands so you're not stuck buying anything I love this place. I'm a junkie, what can I say? Even for simple things, like a new charger, phone accessories, or an SD card, come to micro center before you step food in a grocery store to buy something like this. read more

Let me tell you what an unbelievable ripoff this store is. All I needed was to replace a video card. I had all the parts ready, the card just needed to be switched ( a 5 minute job). They were charging $60, 3 times as much as most other places, and had a 2 hour wait. This is unacceptable. Best buy even agreed to do it for 40. Went elsewhere for 20. Don't believe the hype. Microcenter is a rip off and there are no good deals, worst deal ever and very upset they are just taking people's money like this. The place I had it done at was also appalled microcenter is charging 60 dollars to replace a video card and asking the customer to leave the pc for 2 hours. Let me tell you, I will NEVER comply with this and will do everything in my power to convince every single person I know who has shopped at microcenter before to just get all their parts from newegg. This store does not deserve a single return customer for attempting to charge $60 us dollars for a service that costs $5 and takes 10min to perform, if that. read more

Love this place but now that ken Kirby was wrongfully fired I don't really want to go anymore. He was honestly the most helpful person I've met in any computer store. He helped me pick out each individual part, even offered to help build it. He also ran a really helpful computer page on facebook and helped us figure out all the problems with our build. Honestly I feel like you are missing a big part of your store now. read more

Honestly most of the staff there is helpful however idk of their parts suck or what but after having a computer I built entirely from their store it did not work so I brought it in and they charged $40 just to take a look at it. After running tests for about a week they found out THEIR ssd that I bought from them just like the rest of the computer was broke. Okay fine. Just replace it and let's be done. Nope they said they fixed it and it'll be $60. Never asked if I wanted it installed. Because that's why they're charging $60 for it. Just said the computers done it'll be $60 and come pick it up. I tried to tell the manager that this is bs. I bought a part from them one week ago and it was broke the moment I tried to use it. She blew me off and said I should've told him not to install it. Even tho he (matt) never once asked if I want it installed for a damn $60. I could have easily done it myself but they didn't want to even ask. So after spending $1000 there for the computer I had to spend an additional $100 to fix a problem caused by their deficient parts. Thanks. Great work guys. Get back to me and tell me how you will reimburse. read more

I tried on multiple occasions to have them do a custom build computer for me. Talked to a guy, had a few back and forth emails, and then he just stopped all communication. I called the store and waited on hold for 50+ minutes. When I explained the situation, they asked me if I wanted to work with the same person that was "helping" me before to which I said "obviously not". They sent me over to a different custom build rep. He said that he was very busy that day but if I could email him the specs of what I was looking for, he would take a look the next day. I sent him the email, he emailed me back to let me know he received the info and would work on it the next day. 5 days later I had still never heard from him. I sent 5-6 emails with no response. I called the store, waited on hold about 10 minutes. I asked for a manager and was told that none were available but one would call me back within the hour. 4 hours later, I receive a call from microcenter and rather than a manager, I get called from a sales person trying to see if he can still sell me a computer. I never received contact from a manager. For anyone that wants a custom build, try Eggheads in Lake Orion. They were definitely on top of things and I'm glad Microcenter dropped the ball so badly or I never would have found them. read more

I really want to like MicroCenter. Unfortunately, I have never had a good experience with online ordering and in-store pickup. I recently ordered a monitor that the website states there are 10+ in stock at the Madison Heights location. Within 15 minutes or so, I get an email telling me my reservation is cancelled due to the item being out of stock. The email says I can call the store if I have questions regarding the email. However, when I try to call the store and choose the option for pricing and availability, the automated message tells me that the website is the only way to get up to the minute pricing and availability. When I try to reach a live person, I remain on hold indefinitely with a message stating that the only way to get pricing and availability is through the website. I had to re-order and then finally received an email stating that my reservation is ready to pick up. Don't understand why I have to go through all this just to reserve an item that shows "in-stock". Hopefully, I won't drive all the way down to the store and be told it isn't available. Guess I'll take the chance. read more

I can't say a whole lot more than others have already said. Prices are okay. They have a very nice selection of products. The salesmen are always helpful and friendly. My past experience with MicroCenter is that they offer knowledge and fair pricing, so that was my top choice in making a purchase this week. I'm the owner of a small website and print design business and took one of my designers shopping for a new laptop. She had a list of features that she had set her heart on, and we were waited on by Joe Niemiec who was knowledgeable, respectful of all our questions, and patient with our thorough review of products available at MicroCenter in Madison Heights, MI. My designer was able to choose the machine of her dreams. I not only stayed within the budget I had set, I had enough left over to purchase a bulletproof service plan that seemed like a good bet since our designer has a three year old that occasionally 'helps' us in the office. All I can say is that Joe is helping Roaring River Press live by it's tagline of "Moving You Forward in Web and Print." Thanks Joe! We've got your card. read more
