Things have changed a lot in the last 7 years, though, and I was just stumped. I always like giving my business to local places, and I liked that they had the word speedy in the name. Sure enough, they got back to me quickly...to say that there was damage to the motherboard. Oops... I guess I'm not the computer expert I thought I was. I figured this was going to be where they try to sell me an expensive motherboard, but I was told it would be cheaper if I ordered my own. While I didn't enjoy having to spend the extra money, I still had a smile when I realized that my computer was in good hands. Once I got them the new motherboard, they basically had to build an entire computer from scratch, because everything connects to motherboard. But, they cut me a deal with the price. It would have been a couple hundred dollars more if I handed them the parts and ask them to build it. Everything works beautifully now. And, I enjoy talking about geeky old-school computer things with the people there. While I don't like to admit that I can't handle things, I know where to go if I have any issue with a computer.

I work from home and my computer is my source of income. Ken picked up my computer from my doorstep within 15 minutes of my call to him for help. He was able to repair my computer by cloning the hard drive. He installed the new, faster, hard drive and delivered it to me all in under 2 hours. He also completely cleaned (inside and out) my computer before returning it to me. To say that I recommend Ken and Modern Computer Solutions is an understatement. He saved my day, week, probably month's worth of income that I would have lost if I had to buy a new computer. With chip shortages and skyrocketing inflation, it would probably have cost a fortune to replace it. Instead, I paid a lot less than what I would have been charged elsewhere (like those big-box computer stores). I was so happy with the service and price that I added a 25% tip and it was still worth every penny!
