    Since I am working from home, I wanted to see if I could an affordable way to hook up a 2nd monitor to my laptop. I did look online prior to coming in, but I figured out it was best to ask the pros about it. I walked inside and found a lot of taped arrows to follow for certain sections and to help with social distancing. When tou walk un they have hand sanitizer and masks available for customers. There was a greeter at the station, but he was busy assisting other customers. I went to the computer section and asked the young man for help and told him what I was looking for. So he sent me to aisle 8 and advised he would get me some help. I went where I was told and waited til assistance came. A gentleman ame and asked me hiw could he help me. And again I informed him of my request, then he said were you the one looking for the HDMI extension, I said yes. He took me down the aisle and informed me that I would a HDMI docking station. He showed me some in various price ranges, starting from $89 to over $100, which I was in no position to spend over $50. I thanked him and told him honestly that price point was out of my range and I would check with my job about getting a docking station.

How many businesses these days do you know of that actually combine integrity and skill to deliver what they say they will - and at a reasonable cost? If you read the About section on their website, it mentions personal relationships with customers. That's no sales pitch - it's true. I've only had sporadic computer issues over the years and, amazingly, every time I've spoken with him, it's like talking to a friend. He knows his customers! Couple that with the fact that Sam broke away from the corporate world to bring his skills directly to the public and he's definitely earned my loyalty.

I found the basic price for service at $99 to be more than reasonable, though I was told that it would take about two weeks for my computer to be diagnosed. I paid the $75 expediting fee and given a timeframe of 2-3 days before diagnosis. I was then happy to get a call from them the next day with the diagnosis and plan of action. The day after that, my computer was ready for pickup, good as new. Overall, very happy with the experience.

    Avoid. The screen quality is worse, which is to be expected, but also the battery drains like mad now, the touch screen is overly sensitive, finicky, and inaccurate, and worst of all the touch screen will stop responding so I have to either wait til it starts working again or hard restart my phone I did not learn how to hard restart my phone until one day the touch screen was unresponsive for over 12 hours (i could still use voice command and the buttons) so i went back to phdfix and he was very impatient with me. Yes, I wasn't happy, but i was not trying to pick a fight with him - i just wanted to ask what was going on with my phone. He quickly jumped to the conclusion that the unresponsive touch screen, which didnt start happening til after the screen replacement, was due to my phone being slow due to having low storage (i have used about half of my phones storage capacity) and wasnt willing to explore any other possibilities. "Get rid of data and dont keep text messages forever." Thanks, i guess. He then hard restarted my phone, the touch screen became responsive again, and he didnt explain how he did it so the next time it froze i had to hop on a computer to look up how to do so: hit the volume up button, then volume down button, then hold the power button for about 10 seconds. But for the last 6 years I have relied on Eric Lebron and his staff at ComputerHandyManMd to com come fix my stupid mistakes, and I am a sucker for malware. I eventually call Eric at Computer Handyman Eric is is patient because he understands the sensitivities of folks who are technology aware but diagnostically challenged. It is a good crew. Unfortunately, John wasn't able to salvage any data from my hard drive while at my house, so he took the computer to his house to keep trying. I appreciated his efforts, but he had my computer a lot longer than I expected. That said, it was fried anyway, so I didn't really need it back. When we finally did connect, John returned my old computer and offered to spruce up Windows 8 on my new one (basically to make it work like Windows 7, which I prefer). It only took him a minute to do, but it made a big difference. All this to say that I highly recommend these guys. I'm hoping that my new computer doesn't have issues, but I'll call Eric and John if it does.

    Came in to return a laptop from another store. Was told it would cost me to get someone in the shop…read moreto reset it, so I did it on my own. The very nice woman who was at the cash register plugged up the laptop and let me reset it, which took a while. The Man at the door watched my laptop while I went to use the bathroom and then walked around because the reset was taking a while. The woman at the computer section was very nice and patient, answering my questions while I looked for a nother laptop. I ended up exchanging laptops, and the whole process was seemless. The employees I interacted with seemed more focused on shutting down questions than actually helping. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, they spoke over me, dismissed what was on the website, and then proceeded to invent policies on the spot -- policies that directly contradicted what BestBuy.com clearly states. When I pulled up the information on their website and showed it to them, they still insisted on their "in-store policy," but couldn't point to anything written, official, or even logical. If Best Buy expects customers to take their brand seriously, the very least they could do is ensure their staff follows the same rules listed on their own website.
