I'm so beyond dissatisfied with the $150 graduation cake that I ordered for my daughter! First, the simple design I requested was totally wrong. I even provided photos and dropped off the ribbon that they just decided not to use. They corrected the design errors but I was still disappointed with the sloppy ribbon placement. Also, the cake was so thick - we could barely serve it properly. After serving my guests, I sit down to have a piece of cake and it was terrible! The cream cheese frosting in the center of the red velvet cake tasted like a stick of butter with a dash of sugar mixed in. It was even yellow!! The cake itself was dry and not moist at all. Most of my guests took a couple bites then threw away the cake. I wish I had a photo of all the full plates in my garbage. I absolutely love the cake here. My favorite is the Raspberry Victorian with whipped cream frosting. Sadly, they no longer offer cake by the slice, so I will probably not be returning. They've offered me their same flavored cupcakes, but the ratios and experience are just not the same. They do still offer a whole cake, but I have zero need for an entire cake - a slice was a little treat I'd give myself on occasion. If purchasing here please check your cake for insects or worms. I purchased a raspberry Victorian cake and took it home for a bday event. After having the candles blown out by the birthday girl we saw 4 tiny worms/ insects (perhaps from unwashed raspberries). This was an indoors event. Everyone around was disgusted and unfortunately unable to eat the cake. I brought the cake back with receipt and quietly spoke to an associate simply asking for a refund. The associate Bonnie went to the back and spoke to Michelle the manager and said no refund allowed. They made it seem like I wanted to put the insects on the cake myself. With receipt and the uneaten cake I thought a simple refund would be allowed but it wasn't. Bonnie clearly stated, "Michelle doesn't want to give a cake or refund, but I can give you a cake now". I didn't need a cake since the event was over. I kindly asked to speak to Michelle myself, but the associated stated she was in a meeting and didn't want to come out to assist with a customer. Always love a new bakery and happened to be in Redlands. Tried some cakes and they were just meh. The raspberry Victorian was the best, but the rest of cakes tasted like grocery store bakery cakes. The custardy filling had no flavor, and while the cakes were moist, they lacked that homemade taste. Also saw a couple testing wedding cakes at a small ledge and they looked uncomfortable. Would give one star! We were pressured to use this bakery for Edwards mansion. I called four times prior to wedding (and walked in once) to make sure they had everything right because I kept getting calls asking about what I had already told them.. Needless to say I had a reason to be worried. They were supposed to put the cake topper on but lady delivered it and left before we got to talk. Upon a closer look, the top tier wasn't centered.. The stencil wasn't placed evenly.. The color faded through out.. There was a gap between the ribbon and stencil different on every layer.. AND ANTS. The stencil I paid for was supposed to be returned but that never happened and now they can't find it? When we called to speak with Michelle she said she placed the cake on display and got compliments.. What a big liar! She also refused to compensate us and hung up on my husband! Very disappointed in the cake I ordered for my husbands medical school graduation tomorrow. I ordered a "Dr" cake (white coat). I provided them with a detailed description and a picture. The cake I picked up today was extremely sloppy and unprofessional. The lettering looked like chicken scratch, the tie under the white coat wasn't finished, things were crooked and pieces of blue fondant were scattered on the white parts. They redid the lettering(but spelled my husbands name wrong) and completed the tie(in different shades than the original). Michelle's was the vendor for my wedding on June 28, 2014, at Serendipity Garden Weddings. For the most part, I was pleased. They followed my directions on how the cake was to look and it tasted great! The customer service could definitely use a little attention. First, it's a little difficult to do a tasting there only because you pretty much have to eat on your lap while doing the tasting because there is no table. It could be a little nicer seeing as you are picking out the wedding cake! During our tasting, which was about three months before our wedding, we picked out the flavors and then a week afterwards decided to change one of the layers. I called and they changed it, no problem. Three days before the wedding, I called to confirm the flavors. When someone answered the phone, she abruptly asked for my number saying she was busy and would call back. Two hours later, no call back. I called again and finally spoke with someone and she confirmed the correct flavors. However, the cake had the original flavor we asked for on one of the tiers as opposed to what I asked for and confirmed. I emailed them shortly after the wedding and they responded with a free layer of the one we chose. Fortunately, the flavor mix up wasn't a huge deal and the cake in its entirety tasted amazing. Long over due! I'm so happy that Serendipity Gardens is partnered with Michelle's Bakery!!! My wedding cake was everything I ever dreamt of! The decorating and taste was on point! You have to get the Grand Victorian! It's absolutely too die for! We also had chocolate chocolate that was so amazing as well! The only con of Michelle's was the tasting. Please know the bakery is very very small and can only accommodate a few people at a time. I expected to be sitting at a table discussing the flavors with a consultant, but that is not what we got. Instead we got thrown some cake on a paper plate and rushed to decide. I had to calmly communicate that I was getting anxiety and irritated to the young girl. She understood and gave us some time. When I was ready to discuss our order, the consultant could not answer any of my questions that I had. I asked for Michelle to come out and talk to me. This is when the whole appointment changed thankfully, because I was about to turn bridezilla, lol. Michelle was easy to talk too and was able to answer all my questions and concerns! We have ordered a two layered 6 & 10 inch red velvet Victorian strawberry for my sister's bridal shower that was a huge hit. The inside was simply gorgeous! It had bright red layers of moist cake, strawberry purée, thick rich dense vanilla cream that is seriously like no other and diced fresh strawberries suspended within. We were absolutely thrilled with the taste & quality of this cake. A couple of weeks after, we ordered an 9 inch German chocolate cake for my son's high school graduation. It was extremely rich and sweet from the double filling layers of coconut pecan frosting And chocolate fudge layered between thinner layers of chocolate cake, then it's covered in chocolate ganache. It reminded us of a really gooey candy bar, kind of over the top for our taste. We called to schedule a tasting, it was $5-7 for 7 tasting. Not a big deal. Especially since I knew which one I wanted for sure. It was my son's first birthday and we were celebrating in San Bernardino. I called everywhere In the area and she was the only one willing to make the cakes. I believe I spoke to Bonnie on the phone, I emailed her pictures of the cake design I wanted, nothing over the top at all to me. His name, a number 1, Superman logo with a yellow fondant "ribbon" around the side of the cake. She said they could do it very easily, "no problem". She did however tell me that I needed to go to a separate cake supply store and purchase the superman logo because they did not have it. Thankfully, my sister-in-law went to the bakery supply store and picked up the logos and brought them to her to add to the cakes. When my family member picked up the cake on the day of the party it had no name on it and a cheap yellow fabric ribbon. When I took the cakes out of the boxes the dark blue icing was bleeding into the yellow fabric ribbon. We had to carefully peel as much off as we could to avoid the tie-dye look and were forced to go with the better of two; an ugly green color. So basically I paid over $200 for a large blue cake and a small blue smash cake; something I could've easily done myself. I called to voice my concerns and wanted to be compensated for this awful experience and was told I would get a call back, never did. I called again and she told me that I knew they were going to put a yellow cloth ribbon on the cake which was not true. She told me a yellow ribbon would be used but she did not tell me it would be made of fabric, something that you would put in a flower bouquet (not on a dark blue icing cake). Had I known this I could've told her the icing would bleed into the ribbon. You'd think a professional bakery would also know this but apparently they're brainless. They basically could care less about customer service. The only reason why I gave them one star is because the cake did taste delicious but other than that it looked like complete $&@? So if you want a $200 glorified Duncan Hines cake with some cocky customer service she's your bakery! Enjoy the awful pictures and another bad review to add to your collection. No read more

Well if you read the last year or so of her reviews something has changed. I called a phone order recently and my experience was the different this time. The customer service is horrible the girls aren't friendly,the cakes don't taste the same,and the manger or owners really don't care anymore!!! You have to PAY IN FULL for any size cake,and if you add anything to there regular cake like rosettes to a standard cake they have on hand, which is easy ask Costco you have to come in a order it in person and it would be considered a custom cake order!! There's plenty of reviews that people didn't even get their wedding cakes and she has a BBB rating of a F,and the health department rating of a B!!! I have no doubt that this bakery is superb at what they do. But here is my issue with them. I ordered a cake 6 weeks in advance for a Birthday party I am planning. With the understanding a relative was going to be the responsible party to pick up the cake. However, the relative will be having major surgery and will not be in attendance. I really enjoyed the cake I got there, it was the chocolate raspberry cake and the chocolate tasted like chocolate from a chocolate bar. Very high quality! I spoke to the owner's mom while I was there, she was super nice and was very helpful. I purchased some of the petite cakes but I definitely liked the regular cakes much more! I will have to try the strawberry cake next time. The cake part was super moist and I was told that these cakes are baked with fresh ingredients daily! I will be going back! The cake is excellent, and the workers there on the whole are nice and professional. The designs are gorgeous and the great things about their cakes is that it tastes very fresh. Slightly disappointed that they expected me to remember details regarding my wedding cake that we discussed when I put down my deposit a couple months ago AND no one informed me or my fiancé to write down any details regarding the cake. A little curious why they couldn't take a min to type everything down. When I returned a couple monthes after the deposit and cake tasting, I finally got a final receipt listing complete details about my cake (after I had to tell them). And we're are getting phone calls regarding wedding cake details we already discussed and has written down. Kinda worried they aren't too organized and hoping my cake arrives the way I want it to at my wedding on time :/ Will be happy to give this place a higher rating if everything goes the way I want it too with minimal head aches.
