This store is pretty good. It is in a great location for crafters and parents, too - Dollar Tree and Ross nearby. The staff is friendly.

This is a fairly large Michael's. It has everything that Michael's carry and store is clean and well organized.

The micheals here was the worst the store ladys are rude and there was one time when i went there and i had a coupon on my phone the lady tried to scan it and she wasnt doing it right and so i tried to help her and she pulled back and said " um mam ik kindve trying to do this so can you stop" that was the rudest thing i have ever heard from a store lady and especially ive been there soo many times i have never been treated like this she was soo rude! read more

I can literally live in Michaels!!! Since I'm an arty-geek kind of guy, I'm always down to go and shop for new art supplies! The store is quite big, there's a lot of interesting things in stock, and the new in store reorganizing is much better than before. Although, even though I love the store, there was an employee that was pretty rude, and I didn't appreciate her attitude! . That was just one person though, so I'll let it slide. I literally just left Michael's and I am now sitting in my car writing this review. Today i walked in got what I needed fairly quickly and stood in line. There was only one person ahead of me at the time. I looked toward the front of the store and to my dismay I see only one cashier. I however see at least 4 other employees walking around the store. As they finally call me to the front, I now see 6 more people in line behind me. This makes no sense. You have more than enough employees to service those in the aisles. Why not have another person checking customer out? No one working in the store at the time looked over the age of 25. Just sad. Store is well stocked but people will walked away because they don't want to stand in line 25-30 minutes because there's only one cashier. Ridiculous read more

I do not like this Michael's store. It is very messy and a lot of time things are out of stock. I went to this store to buy some paint which was locked up. I had to look for someone who worked there because they were not where they were supposed to be. When I asked if I could get some paint from the locked cabinet, I was told only the manager had the key and he was out to lunch. He would be back in about an hour and could I wait or come back. Was she CRAZY?!! Why would I wait there. Smart move on the management, maybe they should leave the key in the store. When I want to buy supplies, I cant work around your lunch schedule. read more

I heard from an assistant manager at this store today that tomorrow is the current manager's last day. Hopefully they will be promoting someone who can clean up the mess that is the San Leandro Michaels. I find that their customer services is lacking the most - with rude, snappy, and bored looking associates - unless they've found another associate to sit on the carts and talk about some recent drama with. I can't say much good about this location, except that they hired one good employee, Connie, who is always cheerful and happy when I visit, and makes my necessary trips in, much more enjoyable. I don't know why everyone is saying their customer service is bad cause I usually get great customer service here. The last time I was here, an associate helped me find everything I needed, checked the price, AND helped me called other Michaels to find an item they didn't have. I've been told that they're the smallest Michaels so of course they're not going to carry everything I need. The reason I'm taking a star off is because sometimes there aren't any labels on some items or it's a label for something else. Also, some isles are really messy (fun finds isle especially), but I'm going to let it slide because I know it takes them days to clean everything up only to let stupid customers mess it up again minutes after it's been reorganized. That reminds me...there are a lot and I mean A LOT of stupid customers that shops here. That means: -Stupid mob packs that hogs up the whole isle and won't let you through -Stupid parents who don't watch their kids, and lets them run around and throw things -Stupid customers who holds up the line cause their product is a few cents more than marked OR they didn't read their coupon clearly and take everything out of their bags -Stupid customers who buys shitloads of stuff and returns them all, thus holding up the line seriously people, stop holding up the line and blocking my way! read more

This store is not as big or well stocked as other Michaels however they do have Pam who is the BEST instructor! I only wish they offered more of her classes read more

I came in today to do a return. I could tell the cashier was new but I wasn't in a hurry and I work in retail so I was patient with him. I noticed that the items I purchased for regular price were ringing up on the return as on sale so I pointed it out to him that I had paid regular price on my receipt. A man named Jack stepped in (I'm assuming he's a supervisor) and apologized to me and very rudely told the cashier he was doing it wrong. He was nice to me but there is no excuse for the way he was talking to his employee. I am a supervisor at a retail store and it is my job to supervise and teach my employees and when they need to be corrected I do so in a polite manner. There is no excuse for the way Jack spoke to the cashier. Jack is a douche bag and I would hate to work under him. Good luck to the very nice, polite cashier who was trying his best to help me. I have always had a good experience at this store but from now on, I will avoid it and go to the location in Union City. read more

Really helpful staff who are easy to locate in the store if you need help finding something or have a question. Some things are a little cramped since it's smaller compared to other Michaels stores, but everything seems to be well stocked despite the holiday craft splurging. The employee that rang me up asked if I had any coupons which was nice of her because I usually have to let them know first. Don't recommend going to this location if you don't want to spend a lot of time and want to get in and out quick-there was only 2 employees at the cash register and they weren't the fastest at ringing items up. read more

this one sucks. it's not as good as the one in emeryville. it's close by thats the only reason why i would go. it's messy and place is crowded and it makes things hard to find. they also dont have a large selection of jars. i needed it to make my homemade jam. the shelves are practically empty. i asked the staff to help me out and they directed me to the wrong place. i'm okay with coming here i can bare it but i would prefer not to if i had the choice. read more

Let me just start with OMG!!! Up until last Saturday, I had no complaints about Michaels, but oh has that changed. I checked my phone and saw I had a missed call from a number I did not know, I called the number back, and had trouble understanding what the person who answered the phone was saying, so I said "hello, I have a missed call from this number" it was all down hill from there. The customer service representative (Kimberly was her name) was beyond nasty. She acted as if my asking her questions was bothering her, she sighed repeatedly, and told me she had no idea who called me, because they wouldn't have a reason to do so, the exchange got so heated I asked to speak with the manager, she instead transferred me to framing, this person was also nasty, when I asked if I was speaking with the manager, the representative was nasty, but she did transfer me to the manager, but of course, by the time he got on the phone I was livid!!!! He pretty much said he understood my complaint, and thanked me for letting him know, but that is not enough for me, I have addressed a complaint letter to the corporate office because they need to know what kind of employees they are hiring. Whoever hired Kimberly, has done Michael's a true disservice. She is bound to lose them hundreds of customers, she was the worst customer service representative I've ran across in years. She couldn't have acted that nasty during the job interview...or could she??? Michael's, when it comes to hiring staff, you've got to do better. read more

I purchased a framed piece of artwork on a cruise. The glass was pushed in when it was shipped and they told me to have it fixed and send the bill. There was no damage to the frame but it had to be taken apart and re-assembled. When I picked it up, there was a small spider and other small debris under the glass that was easily visible to whoever did the repair. As a result I had to waste time going back to pick up the artwork after it was done properly. read more

I needed to know if they sold elastic at this Michaels in San Leandro and couldn't find an employee that wasn't busy . So I PATIENTLY waited in line for a cashier to ask . She was just finishing with a customer and instead of letting the customer walk away she continued chatting about yoga classes at the senior center and how much she would enjoy it and how much fun it is there and how she herself goes there for crochet and knitting classes and how to get there and on and on and on. I still PATIENTLY waited and when the customer left I asked about the elastic. There were no other customers in line behind me. Judy (the cashier) started to tell me and after about 3 words a rude customer interrupted the conversation and asked where something was. I said to the customer "excuse me but I was here first so you'll have to wait until she is finished helping me". Judy said "yes but you can just wait a minute" and turned to help the rude customer. At that point I walked away disgusted at this treatment. After helping the rude customer Judy walked after me and I told her she was unfair to me and it was wrong of her to do what she did. She said "yes, but do you still want to know where the elastic is?". I said "no I don't" and walked out. I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics in Albany and got what I needed. The employees there are are courteous and don't spend my time chatting about their personal activities to other customers. Anything Michaels sells can be bought at Jo-Anns and your experience will be much more pleasant! I only gave one star because their yarn selection is nice. Do not go to the Michaels in San Leandro!!! read more
