Came here as part of the Bay Area yarn crawl. Staff have been very friendly and helpful! They have a plethora of high quality yarn options. I try my best to support locally sourced yarn. This is literal heaven for me. Thank you for being here Atelier Yarn!

I attended the Pouring Bear event, and there was a wide variety of colors to choose from and clean setup. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and they even delivered the completed bears in beautiful cylindrical packaging for our group order! Would highly recommend. This was an excellent event for people of all craft skill levels, and the welcoming atmosphere in the studio made it such an enjoyable experience.

I struggled for three hours and accidentally created a big hole on the first try, and had to replace a handgun because it was weak. David, another instructor, happily replaced the whole canvas, so I had to start over by drawing the design through their portable Bluetooth projector. He warned me that if I ripped another canvas, there would be an extra cost. For the next two hours, I got a handle on the handgun, but still needed assistance from my friend since she had experience in punch needle, which is a manual, mini version of tufting without a handgun. I accidentally made a small hole by puncturing the same spot twice to fix the gap, so I asked Monica for advice. She suggested that I should make a small patch on the bottom side of the design so she can glue it later. However, David came to analyze the hole and happily fixed it for me by filling in the rest of the gaps. I didn't have to do extra work. Five hours later, all the crew members were helping us put each design together by patching it up and shaving. Since they were busy, I had to wait for my turn to use the vacuum and trimmer to shave off excess yarn on top of the design to give it a polished 3D look. I felt bad for that one girl who couldn't finish tufting her Hello Kitty since she arrived here 30 minutes before our appointment. Overall, it was a fun and humbling experience for under $200, based on canvas size. Very time-consuming, yet there's a promo for on a weekday suitable for couples: $168 for two small ones and $206 for two mediums. They even offer a group package suitable for parties of five. Great for any special occasions and corporate socials. Also kids over 12 years old can do it. Complimentary snacks are available for customers, but the Pop Mart figurines are available for purchase. Must reserve a spot on their website or IG page before they open on weekends.

You can tell that Simone is a true artist, and has taken much time and effort in realizing her creations. Everything is hand-made with care. The large canvas bags are put together with jean material, fabric from Mexico, hand-sewn flowers, hand-painted flowers and images of Frida. There are many gift ideas. I bought several small cross-body bags (two for me, one for my friend in Tokyo). You can remember your trip to SF with a painting of cats enjoying a romp in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. For the Frida admirer, check out her images and irreverent poetry adorned with hand-painted flowers and Simone's original "wall paper" background. When it comes to art work in the city some art creations comes in a variety of shapes and forms and have so many multidimensional twists. Hand made art can be explored in different neighborhoods in San Francisco through canvases in the galleries and murals on the walls of the city streets. In Japantown there is a place where art is made on paper and with paper and you can create almost any work of art from plants , flowers and also animals like birds and tigers through the art of origami. This place is located on Buchanan Mall in Japantown in San Francisco and it's called Paper Tree. On a Spring stroll around Japantown in San Francisco there is a place to not only learn about the art of origami but also get the art supplies like origami paper to make the pieces of art. You will find inside lots books about origami along with displays of some of the most amazing art work. Regardless, this is a must if you're in SF Japantown for the first time and definitely if you're interested in papercraft. SUPER impressive display of origami that they have here. Things are folded and tucked in such unique ways that I would have never thought of to create so many of their cool crafts. This includes various animals, dinosaurs, references to pop media (Star Wars, Disney, Ghibli, etc.), plants, and much more. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Their shop dog is also impressively large and also really chill. Fun to see 'em wandering around and just hanging out. They seem to also have community events and classes, including free online ones. I'd definitely check out their website and social media accounts for information, but I always LOVE when businesses foster community and build towards hobbies. They also have private classes and they also do events for corpos or birthdays which is pretty neat. HUGE variety of different papers of all prints, patterns and textures, along with guide books, along with various gifts and art supplies and tools. Prices vary based on what you're getting, but seems quite affordable if you're just getting into the craft and pretty reasonable if you're finding fancier imported paper that'd be difficult finding elsewhere. Staff were friendly and ready to answer any questions that we had. If you have a crafty and artistic side, another reason to visit as well!
