Peninsula Flock Knits reflects Helen's passion for yarn, crochet and all things. She has carefully selected yarns that will enable knitters and crocheters to make beautiful hats, scarves, socks, sweaters, tops and other projects that they will be proud to wear and to give.
Helen has sought out yarns that are beautiful and soft, and that knit or crochet well. She believes that knitters and crocheters who invest so much time in their work should feel very good about the yarn they have chosen.
Unlike many stores that will only have a few balls of any particular color of yarn, Peninsula Flock Knits typically carries a sweater quantity of each yarn type and color. Our store carries a wide selection of very high quality yarn, including yarns from Plymouth, Adriafil, Amano, Appalachian Baby, Darmum, Di Gilpin, Fonty, Isager, Ito, Katia, Malabrigo, Noro, Pascuali, Shel Design, Wee County, West Yorkshire Spinners, Balmerino, and others. We have a huge selection of Knitting for Olive and Di Gilpin Lalland DK. Peninsula Flock Knits is the only store in the US to carry Wee County Kinross and it has the largest selection of Fonty yarns in the country.
In addition to carrying double pointed and single needles, we carry a comprehensive selection of ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles, including full sets of Twis, Spin and Forté. We also have a broad selection of knitting and crochet tools and accesories.
We also carry the RE:DESIGNED Project Bags in numerous styles and colors.
History
Established in 2025.
Helen started Peninsula Flock Knits out of love for beautiful, high quality yarn and her passion for knitting. She loves sharing her knowledge of yarns with customers and helping pick the perfect yarn for their projects. Helen started Peninsula Flock Knits as a place to build a community of knitters in the mid-Peninsula. She wanted to create a place where knitters and crocheters would enjoy coming to in order to knits and share their projects. Helen is always happy when customers come in to talk about their projects or come and sit at one of the tables or in one of the comfy chairs and knit or crochet. She has worked to develop a curricula of classes and events to help build the knitting and crochet community, but help people learn to knit or crochet or build their skills in order to take on new challenges. Weekly community crafting sessions foster the spirit of community of local knitters and crochetrs.
