    Looks like a good one...

This is a pretty good location. The strip mall has a Ross, Marshall's a DSW and a Half Price Bookstore. With all those and a Burger King parking can get rough at times. Michael's is a good craft, party and art supply store. That carries some wedding decorations as well as some home decor, pillows silk plants & flowers. If you can build it they will come and buy it... Need yarn or sewing supplies? They have it all. Scrapbooking or card making your thing? How about beads or jewelry making? It's all there... I didn't find exactly what I was looking for on my last visit, but... I improvised and got something close and it worked! That's always a good thing! I also grabbed some canvases & paints for my daughter while I was there.

The store was well-stocked and reasonably full with shoppers, all masked and maintaining social distance.

Our go-to store when we need something artistic for a birthday or holiday occasion. My daughter and I visited this afternoon as we needed to buy a few gifts - for the first time since the pandemic began 8 months ago in March. The store was well-stocked and reasonably full with shoppers, all masked and maintaining social distance. We headed to the arts section and found a couple of the things we wanted right away, but needed help locating the third. There was a store manager handy and she pointed us in the right direction. Shopping done, we browsed a little in the aisles packed with Christmas ornaments - one of my favorite purchases during the festive season. Then we got in the longish check-out line, which moved surprisingly quickly because there were four open checkout counters. Overall - a very smooth experience. Will certainly be back this holiday season for more shopping. Pro Tip - sign up for their on-line coupons. You can score some good deals - we got 30% off one of our items today.

Doggie shopping at the art store!

Without going on too much of a tangent, I have to say I really don't take the time to write reviews…read moreunless I've genuinely had a great experience somewhere... or a really bad one. Having that great experience repeatedly is an even bigger plus, and that has definitely been my experience at Games of Livermore. As a kid, I was huge into Yu-Gi-Oh. For many years it was a big part of my life and childhood. I recently got back into TCG collecting in 2025, originally just chasing that Yu-Gi-Oh nostalgia. Now, with adult money, I can finally splurge on some of the things my childhood self could have only dreamed about. Getting back into collecting in 2025-26 can honestly be a nightmare sometimes, and there have definitely been plenty of ups and downs for me. Games of Livermore, especially being so close to my house, has become a huge part of me getting back into the hobby and actually enjoying it again. The staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and willing to help people across the board. Chad especially has been incredibly helpful with filling out my binder, taking in trades, and giving me great deals on packs. One thing I really appreciate is that they protect the local community and keep scalpers AWAY. Whenever I walk into the store, there's almost always something I can pick up--singles, packs, sealed product, and even FOOD. Seriously, they have some great treats too. A big reason they consistently have inventory is because they actually put reasonable limits in place so one person can't walk in and buy everything off the shelf. They also don't slap insane markups on everything just because something is popular, which unfortunately has become way too common in the hobby. Overall, this is my LGS, for now and always. I really appreciate everyone there and how helpful they are every time I come in. I even pulled an awesome card from a single pack here, so clearly the pack luck isn't bad either! They're trustworthy, passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Yes, the store can get busy sometimes, but honestly, that's not a bad thing. If anything, it's a sign that people know this is the right spot. I'd come here over GameStop ANY DAY. My only wish would be for them to carry a few more video games vintage and modern, but outside of that, I really can't complain. Thank you to everyone at Games of Livermore for making getting back into this hobby such a great experience.

I went to the shop today for the Pokémon 30th Celebration Collection. I called yesterday because I…read morewas told the supply was very limited. The employee I spoke with specifically advised me to arrive early if I wanted to make sure I could get one. They said that while they didn't want people lining up, realistically they couldn't stop people from doing so. Based on that information, I arrived an hour and a half before opening, which I think is completely reasonable for a highly anticipated drop with limited supply. Even then, I almost didn't get the item I came for because they were close to selling out. I also want to mention that the shop had taken measures to discourage scalping by cutting the seals and nearly removing them from the boxes. Since I was buying the product to actually open the packs, I personally didn't have a problem with this and understood why they were doing it. What really left a bad taste in my mouth happened afterward. I joined the shop's Discord to share my pulls and saw conversations about the people who had waited in line. The shop's manager, identified in the Discord as Sammy (Manager), said they were talking about taking a photo of the line, saying "everyone cheese!" and then refuse service to those people in line lol. The shop's Games of Livermore Discord account also commented that they had "just unplugged the phone calls are nonstop" before they had even op. I understand that getting nonstop calls during a highly anticipated release can be frustrating, but seeing the shop publicly talking about unplugging the phone because customers were calling about the release added to the impression that they simply didn't want to deal with the demand. In the same conversation, the shop's Discord account mentioned that they had served "around 110 plus people," while other members were making jokes and comments about the people who had lined up. The manager also commented, "where's everyone's pulls? or did yall already resell" in the conversation. Honestly, this is what bothered me the most. The store had already taken measures to prevent scalping, including altering the product packaging, and I was completely understanding of that. So seeing this level of bitterness toward customers who literally followed the advice given by the store to arrive early was pretty crazy to me. If you don't want people lining up, that's understandable. But if a customer calls ahead, is told that arriving early is realistically the only way to guarantee getting the product, and then actually does exactly that, it's pretty frustrating to see those same customers being mocked afterward. If the shop can't handle a line for a highly desired drop, maybe they shouldn't be stocking products that are obviously going to create one. Customers shouldn't be made to feel like they're doing something wrong for showing up early when the store itself told them that's realistically what they needed to do to get the product. I came in excited about the release, bought my product, and was happy with what I got. The product itself wasn't the issue. The way the situation and the customers who waited in line were talked about afterward is what completely soured the experience for me.

The way it works is, you visit their website first and place an order there. You can choose whether to have your order delivered or pick it up yourself from their warehouse. I buy from them often. If you place an order for pickup early enough in the day, they may have it ready on the same day. Otherwise it'll be ready by the next day except for they don't do pick ups on weekends. So if you order Friday afternoon then you'll most likely have to wait until the following Monday.
