Iced coffee
Camille B.

Ok, everyone else has already talked about what a lovely vibe this place is. It's cozy, the people are friendly and I feel very welcomed. There's even a little food pantry and a little free library! But what makes this place even better? They use frozen coffee cubes for their iced coffee! Why more places don't do this is beyond me. Not only does it not get watered down, but I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth! For this alone I gave this place a high rating and will definitely return!

Rarely do I have opinions about settings, but Michael Thomas has an impressive backyard that was ideal for today. It took some time for me to learn but 50 degrees here isn't like 50 degrees back east. The beverage variety is impressive, maybe even intimidating. Cafe mole is a fine choice if you need some spice in the AM.

Outdoors with my killer coffee

Great, great coffee. Fun pastries and if you get there early enough, amazing quiches. Lovely outdoor space in the back with plenty of picnic style tables. Barista art is the best I have ever seen. And, don't forget, great coffee.

I have to update my review of Michael Thomas Coffee, after 8 years of being a fan! While I am from Fort Worth, Texas, Michael Thomas is ALWAYS the first stop for my family when we travel to ABQ. The service is friendly and welcoming. This past visit my family ordered The Tony, a Chai Latte, and a Blackberry Latte (all with oat milk). The chai was the best chai I've tasted and the blackberry latte was perfectly sweet without being overpowering. Michael Thomas makes an excellent latte and have such a cute and homey location that invites customers to stay awhile. They also have a wide selection of coffee beans for purchase and for consumption. We typically buy a bag when we are in town just so we can bring some Michael Thomas home with us.

Very poor cappuccino! Not going back which is too bad as expectations were high. Foam was like soap suds!

Enjoyed the aesthetic of the coffee shop. One side you have an open area surrounded by plants, perfect for summer and spring. Then you have the inside of the shop which looks like it use to be a home. Very cozy, homey vibes. Bathroom was extremely clean which is a major plus. Now the coffee, this place is one of the only places in New Mexico to have an espresso tonic. Perfect balanced and their syrups didn't over power the espresso shot. They are ahead of the game compared to most coffee shops out here. Espresso flavors have been great in their espresso tonic and lattes. The coffee flavors they produce demonstrate they aren't simply burning their coffee beans. Their baristas don't overly milk their drinks and they actually do an amazing job at texturing their milk. Overall, top tier quality in coffee and creativity in what they produce.

Really good cortado. The place has good vibe. Lots of space. Good for work or hangout with friends. They have parking.

A local self-proclaimed coffee snob recommended this joint, so I asked for the richest drip but received watery normalcy in a paper cup. Am I a bigger coffee snob than the local self-proclaimed coffee snob?

Love this place - best espresso in town and great seating areas, when not busy. And right down the street from UNM!

The coffee is good, but expect for them to mess up your order. Some staff are nice while others clearly show that they hate their job.

We were there fairly early on a Saturday morning and it wasn't very busy when we arrived, but it got a bit busier before we left! The staff were friendly and efficient. We each ordered a coffee and a pastry and sat for a while. The place is cool - we like a good vibe and this place has it! This place has such a friendly vibe to it and the staff are so kind and knowledgeable. They even remembered my name, despite it being very busy and coming back a few days later. We decided to hit it up on the way back home to the airport. They share a patio in office with sidetracked brewing company. If you're looking for something cool to experience in downtown ABQ, this is a place for you. They've got tasty treats and flavorful drink options. The bagels and breakfast burritos are pretty good too. Try the golden milk latte if you're feeling like a health pick me up. Love this place!
