Good food, bad service. We just moved to the area and are trying to find a few good places. We were told this place had "great Mexican food". We had been there for dinner twice, so last Sunday we wanted to try it for breakfast. I asked the waiter for a breakfast menu, and was informed it was the same one. I asked if they made anything breakfast-y: papas con huevos or chilaquiles. I was told in a very condescending manner that this was a RESTAURANT, and they don't serve items like that. If I want chilaquiles I need to go a taqueria. Something "more Mexican and not Tex-Mex". La Cabaña on Louetta is a restaurant, and are still able to serve all meals. Guess I'll be making the drive there instead. read more

Prices are high but everything is nowadays since the pandemic. Everything is top-notch at this restaurant, no complaints. Our party of five was seated right away at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night. The waiter quickly took our order, and quickly brought out the drinks, chips and salsa. He took our food order as soon as we were ready and the food came out very shortly thereafter. One makes sure your drinks, salsa, and chips stay filled. The other takes your order and delivers the food. The food is good tex mex, your traditional menu. We typically get a combo meal. Easter Sunday 4/1/18 and sad to say I have to update my review with less stars .. so we always order the El Refu Fajitas and I'm not sure why they are not making it like they use to . We had more bacon and beef and very little chicken and shrimp which we have always got an even amount of all 4 or so it seemed up until today .. if I'm wrong maybe some one that works there can correct me . I've been to this restaurant about three time now, and every experience has been golden. The staff is very attentive and swift, the food is as top-of-the-line Tex Mex as it gets in this price range (which is not the cheapest, but a very good price), and the atmosphere is as friendly and boisterous as a family restaurant gets. If you want a quiet meal, go somewhere else. Tex mex family restaurants aren't for you. If you want to enjoy good food for a good price and don't have a problem with hustle and bustle going on around you, or if you are looking for a place to meet with a group, or if you are a group in and of yourselves, feel welcome at this establishment. I just recently went to this location and had an item off the new Crossfit Menu, sponsored by Crossfit Victorious. I had the grilled tilapia with guacamole salad, and grilled vegetables. I have to say it is probably the best thing I've ever had there. The tilapia was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the salad was creamy and delicious, and the grilled vegetables were cooked just right. Fantastic, healthy, and under $11 so it's one of the less expensive items on the menu. One thing to note--the waiter we got was not familiar with this menu, so couldn't answer questions about it. Restaurant was very busy and very loud, this excited us because we thought we found a great place! We ordered queso and fajitas, and then 3 minutes later they delivered our food. No joke 3 minutes. We were both very disappointed because We did not get to enjoy our appetizer or our conversation..... I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that brought the food out so fast. We noticed that the table next to us ordered the exact same thing and they received the same service. Once we were satisfied with our appetizer our food was cold. The fajitas tasted horrible and my drink glass was empty! Could not even wash it down. We left feeling like all they wanted was our money and shoved us out the door so they could sit another money guest down. Their was a baseball game on that I wanted to watch a little of and talk about a home we are thinking of purchasing and they made us feel like they were in a hurry to push us out of our table. First, I ordered the happy hour house margarita which was very weak but that's to be expected sometimes. Oh Mi Rancho, I love you! I just wished I lived in Houston so I could come here more often. Everything here is good. The chips and salsa (which is fundamental, but still very important when rating a Mexican restaurant), the food, the drinks, the service, and most importantly the price! Hosted a lunch here for 4 people, and our total tab was ~$34! Everything on the lunch menu was essentially $8. I got the fajitas, which were seasoned very well and delicious. Came with all of the fixings, and I swore it could have fed two very hungry people. 4 tortillas and plenty of meat. That for $8... can't be beat. The Patron Margaritas are also very good. This is our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant. By the looks of things, it's quite the favorite of many other's in the area as well. The first and top reason to come here: the food. The beef fajitas are juicy and tasty, obviously marinated and always grilled to perfection. They are okay with eating lunch specials for dinner for $2 additional, and they are okay with substitutions. The chimichanga with beef fajita is amazing! The second reason is the service. The wait staff is fast, courteous, and quick to respond and fill the iced tea glasses. We've never felt abandoned at Mi Rancho. The third reason is the ambiance. It's your typical Mexican restaurant and honestly nothing special in the way of decor, but it just feels fun. People are always happy there, including the staff. You can't leave Mi Rancho feeling down. I highly recommend eating at Mi Rancho. read more

We live right down the road from here and go fairly often (about once a week). There is never a wait even though it looks rediculously busy. The salsa (yes it's heat hot and heavy on the cilantro) is frankly...delicious. I could drink it. We have purchased it to make our own tortilla soup at home! The service is quick and to the point...I like that, no messing around. Although now we go there enought that the servers recognize us and we can joke around :) I have had quite a few things from the menu before. Lots of regular Tex-Mex stuff. My favorites are the Anaheim Enchiladas, Enchiladas Verdes, the Pork Chops and Tacos Mexicanos. The margaritas are tasty; not to sweet not to salty. The best feature about this place is that it is very affordable, clean (even the bathrooms), everything comes out hot and tasty and it's quick. You can hardly tell one from another. Almost the same menu and darn near same under achieving food can be found at probably no less than 50 so called TexMex restaurants within a 30 mile radius of Spring. All these types of places have seemingly succeeded in lowering people's expectations as to what good TexMex can be like. Ok I have been coming to mi Rancho since I was 13, I am now 26. The food is good for the price and the house frozen margarita is great. Although over the years management has lossed their passion. Tables are not always wiped. 30 minute service just to put the order in. I was there multiple times this passed year and unfortunately could not enjoy my self. Either the food was wrong or took too long. I went with a friend and as we agreed she was paying the tab and I was to tip. Well the server saw her put zero on the tip and decided to speak in Spanish and say "oh wow really, no tip,your suppose to tip." My friend speaks Spanish I was livid. manager did nuthin, didn't get an apology! So I left no tip! Last week. I sat down with my boyfriend to be waiting 15 minutes after the host sat us to order our first drink from the chip person ( not our server) Got the drink 10 minutes later from somone who was still not my server. Waited another 15 minutes to order an appetizer (shrimp cocktail) server never came back after that. 2 other tables were laughing saying "I guess we picked the wrong section." And "is there service out here!?" So we decided to leave after being there for 1 hr and only having 1 drink and 1 appetizer. I complained to the manager about how all his servers are sitting down, talking, on their phones, not being attentive. He had the nerve to say " well I don't know, you wait here and ill go check the cameras!" Walked around the corner 8 ft away and began to speak Spanish to 5 servers and comes back raises his voice making a seen says " you pay for you drink ill pay for your food and you never come back!" 1ft from my face. My boyfriend had to put his hand on my shoulder and look him in the eye and tell him to lower his voice while talking to me! Makes no sense.
