Fantastic spot! We weren't even in the mood for Mediterranean but saw this place and it looked too good to pass up! We were right! We got some chicken shawarma plates that had flavorful rice, well seasoned and tender chicken, and delicious, moist, yet crispy, falafel!! Big portions too- we could not finish! They were extremely accommodating of my husband's dairy and gluten allergies- almost with no modifications really. I love the hummus here it's so smooth and tasty. I don't know much about Israel's food but I do know what tastes good. The pita bread is all it's own. Can't find it anywhere else. It goes so good with the hummus. The meat dishes are good. I think Afghan (very similar) meat dishes are better but it's all in the way they process them. Meze teas and Chai are really good. Sometimes I just go here for that. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves hummus and pita bread. This is a very unique restaurant that stands on its own. There isn't another one like it. Chose this place based on the healthier choices it provided within this small town area. It was my first time coming here so unfortunately I did not understand how to order properly and I assumed that the dishes came on a plate. I ordered an paid yet when my order came it was not what I thought I had ordered. I then decided to re order another plate i did NOT ask for a refund I simply re ordered and paid although I did not eat anything from my first order. What was upsetting was that I ordered multiple things and the cashier did not think to explain the menu or how the servings worked she was rude and not helpful at all. I assume she was upset with me and the plate that I had to re order took at least 40 minutes for me to get and when I did get my food on the plate it was cold I did NOT complain because I don't like to complain nor ask for refunds. I will not be going back and I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Anti-science, anti-public health, and wildly overpriced self-serve, order-at-the-counter place. I had a gyro wrap, which was tasty, and a delicious housemade hibiscus lemonade they wouldn't refill. Foods not good, staffs not nice. I've tried many times and have been very disappointed every single time. An employee even yelled at my young child when we were waiting on a narrow hallway to use the bathroom. He literally said "get out of my way!". The other man with the long hair isn't nice either. He Totally ignored me when it was my turn to order and a girl who hadn't clocked in yet had to help me. He didn't even look at me. They also claim to "not have tahini" to dip my dry falafels in. Wow is this place good. The food was delicious to the point we all cleared our plates despite filling up on the generous portions half way through. What's more, it arrived in under ten minutes. Plenty of vegan options and the malabi was incredibly complex and we all agreed one of the best desserts we'd ever had. My dad said, "It's not fair for this restaurant to be on this block. We stopped in Grass Valley after spending a few days camping in South Yuba. Quick Yelp searched landed us here. We ordered the beef & lamb kebab plate and the plant power platter(I'm a sucker for alliteration). Everything was delicious and super fresh. The hot sauces were yum but not what I would describe as hot, granted my heat tolerance is pretty high. Hummus was perfectly creamy. Kebab was exceptional. Well seasoned with warm earthy flavors and not too salty. Staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Prices were fair considering portions and quality of food. We split the 2 platters between 3 adults and each had our own pita. We were full but not stuffed. The location is perfect. Situated amongst many shops in the main downtown area. Perfect for grabbing a bite and window shopping. If in town I'd definitely check them out. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. My favorite entree is the falafel dip plate. The pita bread is fresh and soft. Their hummus is the creamiest hummus I've ever had, all the salads and dips are soooo good and I feel great after eating here. read more

Everybody needs to lighten up. This is solid store. Knock it off with quoting Calcode health regulations and all that crap. I've been ANSI FSP certified for 22 years. CA repealed the glove law and backed off on mask requirements- they simply don't stop viral transmission. This place is safe to eat, is fresh and delicious- Covidian germphobes stay home... you had your 3 year reign of terror. And expensive? Hardly. Obviously some folks need a food cost inflation webinar in lieu of visiting a grocery store. It's a miracle half of downtown GV food stores are still alive. Their Moroccan Rice subtlety inspired me. Lamb Kabobs depth and flavor profiles intimidated me. I taught myself Babaganouche after sampling theirs about 5 times. Fantastic hummus. I hate to say this but I don't know what the hubbub is all about with this place. My wife is Armenian (and a vegetarian) and has been wanting to try their hummus and baba ganoush every time we walk by so we finally did. Having been married to a vegetarian for many years you can always gauge how good a restaurant's food is by how good the vegetarian is. Both dishes were almost tasteless in her opinion (mine too). Even salt would've helped. Yeah, yeah, yeah I read a bunch of the other reviews. I think these people need to get out more! Maybe go to the ethnic parts of San Francisco and see how real Middle Eastern, Lebanese, and Greek food really tastes. I had the chicken shawarma. Same thing. Needed more seasoning and was dry. Lastly, the cashier girl at the front was not who I would've had to greet people and take orders. She was aloof, semi-rude and did not pay attention to our orders. Anyhow, maybe we'll give them another chance and hope we just caught them on a bad day. In conclusion, sorry to say, but we really need a good Middle-Eastern place in Auburn-Grass Valley, that's off the charts! read more

What a delight! When you try out a spot touting healthy or conscientious food, it's usually either bland and awkward or delicious and invigorating.
